he is nervous about letting you go to explore pandora and Catalog alone, so he insists on coming with you or if he's busy working he would send one of his most trusted people along with you.

This man will literally bring things home to you after a long day for you to do with as you please. He knows you want to catalog as much as possible, so he feels he's helping you in some way by doing this.

He gets you a notebook in order to write your findings down. Figuring you might want a backup to incase using computers or a tablet isn't enough.

He likes listening to you talk for hours about your findings, what you've figured out and mapped out so far of the planet itself.

sometimes he can't seem to follow everything you're saying and just get lost in you. Lost in how happy you are, your smile. You're the only one he lets his guard down around.

Often times he will lay his head in your lap and listen to you speak of your findings all while your fingers card through his hair.

There are times you show him the maps and regions of areas you've already managed to catalog before the two of you even met.

Really it amazes him just how much you've managed to gather. He loves how passionate you are about the things you find interesting.

This man gets the bright idea to take you out one night on his ikran as a date by a bioluminescent pool. He’s checked the area over prior to bringing you to ensure it’s safe.

This man has an ikran so you’re defiantly asking him all kinds of questions about it. What kind of foods it eats. How long do they sleep and so on. Some questions he can’t even answer because even he doesn’t know. But he dose let you look it over and catalog what you can with the information you can gather. You even draw his ikran in your book as an example for others as well. It’s the perfect opportunity for an in depth drawing of such a powerful creature.

He knows you’ll love it because this is an area you haven’t seen before. It gives you the chance to catalog more things as well. Your excitement makes him happy. Just listening to you ramble on about your findings while your there makes it all worth while.

It brings a smile to his face knowing that you’re interested in the world of pandora.

if you ask him, he is willing to take you anywhere he can travel to from the water. He doesn't want to stray too far from the safety of his clan simply because he wants to ensure you're both able to get back within night fall.

Unlike Miles he has more trust that you won't get hurt so easily when inspecting things you wish to write about.

He welcomes the questions you have about different plant life and animals as he’s up for teaching you as much as he can. you’re curious about a specific plant you’re trying to catalog in your notebook? Just ask he’s happy to explain it all to you.

He loves hearing you gush about your findings. This man will sit with for hours just listening to you ramble on about what you’ve already taken note of. Pandora truly is an amazing place and you can’t contain your need to practically consume all information about it that you can in order to record it.

Sometimes you’ll ask him about the ilu. Insist on him telling you as much as possible about such beautiful animals as possible. If they can have multiple riders or just one like the ikran.

Skimwings where another point point of interest for you. He took you around on his all the time so it’s obvious you want to learn more about Them. Assassinated you how they could practically fly up out of the water and into the air. At one point you definitely asked him to do that for you in order for you to time how long they could stay in flight.

Often times he would have to pull you to bed otherwise he assumed you would be staying out all hours of the night moving from one thing to the next. he doesn’t want you to burn yourself out that for sure.

When you try and insist on staying out longer he asks you to come inside and tell him about your day. What you’ve uncovered so far and for the most part you end up falling asleep beside him rambling on about all of the things you have found fascinating so far.

He loves how into it you are, the nerdy rambles give him hope that others out there will find Pandora and the echo systems of the reef just as beautiful as you do. Hopes that your love for this land and work will show others just how amazing it all is. That people will take I. To account your findings and won’t try to tear it all appart.

This has been sitting in my ask box for awhile: I've never made a tutorial before!

I really love skimwings though, and I don't think they get enough love, so I gave it my best shot. It's more my thoughts and things I've noticed than an actual tutorial, but hopefully it helps!

Tonowari's expressions as Jakes progresses...

On a side note :

Lo'ak has no pride as he learns to ride an ilu. He does as he's told, and one of the boys (Ao'nung?) comments behind him "Look at his legs!" Because Lo'ak isn't seated properly, and immediately loses control. He's not told how to position his legs though.

Meanwhile, Tonowari is explicit about good position being critical, but Jake is being prideful.

Ao'nung and co make fun of Lo'ak, and so do their (possible?) fathers, while Tonowari cringes for his friend.

Can't imagine Tonowari ever being a little shit like Ao'nung but I'm looking forward to the kid's progress, especially as he grows close to Lo'ak.

I wanna see the ikran's personalities come out more! All the cool interactions the characters could have with them when theyre around would be so interesting to see.

We somewhat got glimpses of this with Seze's interaction with Neytiri and Bob violently chosing Jake in A1 and when he finds him in the ashes of Hometree.

Ikran are such interesting creatures and are beautifully designed, but we've seen less of their personalities and behaviors in favor of their role as vehicles (similarly to other fauna, like the ilu, and skimwing especially).

I think Avatar should emphasize the interactions with "less" sapient creatures in character interactions and growth. We only get to see their relationships as utilitarian and its unfortunate since the Na'vi connection with Eywa and Pandora is supposed to be less anthropocentric and exploitive.

Again, I'm asking for a lot, but I really do feel like theres so much Pandora has to offer socially and biologically that just dont get much consideration beyond quickly advancing the plot to action scenes and climaxes. I feel there could have been more and should be more interactions between Pandora's flora and fauna in a more intimate way that makes Na'vi interaction with the world more personable and culturaly submersive, especially in contrast to the RDA utilitarian and impersonal philosophy.

Perhaps in the next movie we get to see the Metkayina learn from the Omatikaya family about ikran and their personalities, and their cultural rites and the importance of tree dwelling and mountain climbing to understand cultural differences or syncronize cultural similarities. Perhaps we see the kids personalize their relationships with their ilu or other creatures similarly to when Kiri rubbed faces with hers and when they were playing tag, or when Lo'ak's ilu flapped their fins on the water to help call to Payakan. Perhaps we see the Tulkun talk to other sea creatures in a standoff and find out they can communicate with akula. Perhaps we see Kiri learn more about her powers by talking to the creatures underwater or seeking them for comfort. Just some ideas!
