Originally there was some backstory content hidden in some cursed tags in this site code. I came up with the concepts years ago for internal purposes, not originally intended for public consumption. I thought some might find it interesting if the material were leaked in the site code in an obscure way. I think it has proven to be neither obscure as imagined, nor all that rewarding to read. The subject matter was inflammatory in careless ways, and the negative reactions to it are legitimate and should have been expected. A drafting process can be messy and can result in some ill-advised nonsense which often should not see the light of day. Letting a bunch of rough draft text files be deployed in this way was not a well considered move. Obviously this material has hurt a lot of people. Which isn't what I was going for, and didn't anticipate, but certainly should have. As far as the intentions behind it, I'm sure I believed it would be read as condemnation through satire, but instead it came off as excessively irreverent and disrespectful of a sensitive topic (to be clear, the main topic relates to antisemitism, which of course is not an issue that should be handled frivolously). After receiving criticism it's obvious to me where I'd been mistaken, and why no one could have possibly read it the way it was intended. I know this content was bad, I regret putting it in a place where people would discover it, and I regret that it was drafted in the first place. I acknowledge that there are certain subjects which demand an exceptional level of care, and that I have been inexcusably thoughtless in handling this. I understand that there should be a certain standard of consideration and review for the content that is presented to an audience, and in forgoing that consideration there have been serious consequences for those people whom this issue directly affects. This could have been easily avoided had I sought a more careful review before it was posted to ensure that what I actually wanted to convey was being properly conveyed. I am sorry that this lapse of judgment has been hurtful to so many people. I cannot undo the damage that this has caused, but I can promise that I am aware of the gravity of this mistake and that, going forward, I will be more mindful of the serious impact careless decisions have on those they hurt.

Okay, I missed this yesterday because I’ve come down with a bad case of Responsibilities, but what’s even the point of having a place to live, of being alive at all, if you can’t take some time out of your day to dunk on Hiveswap?

So, on New Years, What Pumpkin’s website redirected to skaianetsystems.com. Skaianet, a corporation related to SBURB apparently run by Beta Jake, is a dropped plot point from Homestuck that Hiveswap appeared to be picking up.

 The site was an ARG that contained a bunch of text files containing Homestuck backstory, much of which had never been revealed before, about the Troll Empress wandering Earth. These files have been deleted, but the text is saved in a Google Doc. While there’s some Deepest Lore about a chrub named Calamity, it’s mostly the Empress getting into wacky adventures with Jesse James and Mark Twain/Colonel Sassacre etc., and is more in tone with very early Homestuck. She sleeps with Jesse James, tells a young dipshit named Einstein how physics works, yadda yadda.

This includes the revelation that Einstein, an agent of the Troll empress, mercilessly bullied baby Hitler in an orphanage and this is why Hitler hated Jews.

Einstein is still "in character", a drunk, ugly American who is starstruck by Houdini, attempting to do bad card tricks, and is just excited to be helping. Chaplin and Laurel don't give a shit about him at all. They focus diligently on their training, telling jokes very seriously, performing slapstick, and honing their combat skills. Hitler however is extremely suspicious of Einstein. He doesn't buy his bullshit at all. Hitler does not take his studies seriously in any way. He spends time making horrible drawings of people dying. He's not the slightest bit funny. He despises Einstein for trying to pull some fake shit on everyone, and he hates the other kids for not caring. Einstein continues babysitting them for several weeks. During that time, he's mocked and tormented by Hitler, who calls him a phony fraud. His anti-semitism also begins to escalate, mostly as a means designed to continue owning Einstein.

Later, Jake, who is a major character in Homestuck, the Grandfather who raised Jade and the absentee dad of Joey from Hiveswap, who’s alternate self is a major protagonist in Act 6, puts Hitler in charge of Germany

No one ever wants to fire him because of the insane tantrum he would throw. Jake just shrugs along with it, until Hindenburg finally asks Jake what he should do about this Hitler guy. Jake tells him to just promote him to a useless bullshit title like "chancellor" and to stop fucking bothering him about Hitler forever, please. They decide to throw a fake election to justify his new phony position as chancellor, and that's that.

Jake stops giving a shit even as Hitler does the Holocaust as a way to irritate Einstein, then some more stuff happens and it starts getting into the post-scratch but what matters here is that Jake Harley canonically caused the Holocaust.

Way to go, douchebag!

I guess fans got mad at this J.K. Rowling-but-with-Hitler stuff, and the files have been deleted, while the Skaianet site now has a long apology with Hussie claiming the files were “rough draft” files he casually made an ARG for, which is a fairly transparent lie.

As for my opinion on it, I’m endlessly amused by What Pumpkin’s ability to own themselves, am glad to own them on tumblr, and am glad I passed on the chance to own them literally

Whatpumpkin’s domain was replaced with another site called Skaianetsystems.com. Within the source code was secret links that led to essentially a timeline of backstory centered around the rise of Condy after Vast Glub. It’s interesting for the first few blurbs of information, with the inclusion of a new female Cherub and Condy’s past alias). Then whoever wrote it (the anonymous writer predicted as Hussie rn) decided that hey, maybe its edgy and funny shock value to rewrite the way that WW2 happened and say that it’s Einstein’s (a jewish man, written to be in league with HIC) fault that H*tler wanted to cause a mass genocide.

It’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

hey what's up! have no idea what's going on with homestuck right now? well, the whatpumpkin website + twitter was completely rebranded to skaia net systems! the website, skaianetsystems.com, features a map with different dots, and a scrolling line at the bottom featuring a number of different coordinates. there's also a count down to april 13th, 2029, 04:13. not only is 4/13 an important homestuck number, but this date is also the time when the asteroid apophis will barely miss hitting earth. it's assumed that this could potentially be the start of the homestuck epilogue.

but it's not just this everyone is losing their shit over! whoever made this web page left behind a few goodies, one of which being text files that revealed the hic's conquest to take over earth and all of that shit.

but, of course, what would homestuck be without some horrendously awful bullshit?

the text files were extremely antisemetic because they made adolf hitler a character, and played off his reign as some silly joke, and also made it very clear that the Holocaust was einstein's fault because hitler's hatred of jewish people was caused by him, and that he was a fraud that could've stopped the holocaust if he had admitted to being a fraud. in the doc below (not made by me btw) you'll find some archived stuff from the site, some pictures, theories, and of course the long ass, super fucked up text files!

Homestuck 2019 - January review

So um... I guess I should say something about Homestuck. I mean, this year is a pretty big deal, 10th anniversary. So what is to say for the first month?

So on January 1st WhatPumpkin’s site has changed into skaianetsystems.com which had a hidden links in it’s source code. The main attraction was a story of Condy’s life on Earths. Day later those links disappeared leaving only extended apology due to (probably accidental) anti-semetic jokes in Condy’s story. All of the hidden content you can find out on @homestuck-info‘s site right here.

FRIENDSIM’S WRITERS ANSWERS TO FANS
