El pasado fin de semana se hizo entrega de los premios a los ganadores de la cuarta edición del concurso Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA). Se trata de uno de los certámenes de fotografía más prestigiosos de Italia organizado por la entidad cultural Art Photo Travel con la colaboración del Municipio y la Universidad de Siena así como el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y Cooperación italiana. Os mostramos las fotos ganadoras, incluyendo las de los premiados con nacionalidad española.

Unas 48.000 imágenes provenientes de profesionales y aficionados de todo el mundo fueron evaluadas por un jurado de 24 miembros (incluyendo fotógrafos y editores). Este jurado decidió otorgar el premio principal, ‘SIPA Contest Photo of the Year’ al fotógrafo K M Asad (Bangladesh) por su imagen titulada ‘Battle Victim’ y que muestra la tristeza en el rostro de una niña rohingya en un campo de refugiados (la foto que habéis visto en portada).

‘Twist over the Guggenheim’ de Pedro Luis Ajuriaguerra Saiz. Remarkable award en categoría ‘Sports in action’ del SIPA contest 2018.

El resto de fotos premiadas lo fueron dentro de alguna de las diez categorías a concurso, ‘General Color’, ‘General Monochrome’, ‘Journeys & Adventures’, ‘Fascinating Faces & Characters’, ‘The Beauty of the Nature’, ‘Animals in their Environment’, ‘Architecture & Urban Spaces’, ‘Sports in Action’, ‘Story-telling’ y ‘Splash of Colors, más la especial para menores de 20 años.

Por otro lado, una novedad de la edición de este año era el concurso Sky’s the limit, primera edición del concurso de fotografía con drones creado de forma paralela a los premios SIPA y del que ya os mostramos los ganadores.

‘Winning horse’ de Adolfo Enríquez Calo. Subcampeón en categoría ‘Monochrome’ del SIPA contest 2018.

La “Armada española”

En cuanto a la participación española, hay varios premiados en distintas categorías, aunque lo más detacable es la victoria del vasco Pedro Luis Ajuriaguerra Saiz en la categoría ‘Sports in Action’ con la foto ‘Reflection pole vault’. También el segundo puesto de Adolfo Enríquez en categoría ‘General Monochrome’ con la foto ‘Winning Horse’ (que ya os mostramos cuando fue premiada en el concurso PX3 Prix de la Photographie) y la mención honorable para Alejandro Martínez Vélez en categoría ‘Story-telling’ por su serie titulada ‘Migrants in Belgrade’ que muestra las penurias sufridas por los emigrantes en la Estación Central de Belgrado el pasado invierno.

Además de estos dos, hay que citar hasta diez fotógrafos españoles más que se hicieron con alguna mención en distintas categorías: Javier Herranz Casellas, Jordi Cohen, Francis Pérez, Salvador Colvée Nebot, Luis Manuel Vilariño Lopez, Julio Castro Pardo, Mario Moreno, Pedro Jarque, Arsenio Gálvez y Santiago Pascual Buyé.

Todas las fotos podrán verse hasta comienzos de diciembre en la exposición ‘Beyond the Lens’ que se celebra junto a ‘Sky’s the limit’ (que va a ser la primera exposición colectiva de fotografía aérea que se haga en Italia). Además, ambas se complementan con un programa de exposiciones de tipo cultural e histórico en la ciudad de Siena.
