GUYS!!! CAW EDIT IN GAME IS FIXED!!!!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!

I returned to the issue today, again, because I have this new world I have started. I was working on it despite CAW's edit in game not working. On the very same thread I posted my complaint on someone has now responded with a fix!!! AND IT WORKED!!!

This ABSOLUTE GEM OF A HUMAN BEING has solved it!!

These are my steps if they help anyone:

My directory is : This PC > Local Disk > Program Data > Origin > Local Content (I had to search for my directory, the one I found under programx86 is where I found CAW, but it was not the current directory for the Sims 3. I noticed this was not the correct directory due to 'Into the Future' not showing up. I 'Search this PC'd for 'Into the Future', right clicked, and opened file location revealing my correct current directory.

I copy and pasted my CAW file into this directory

IT WORKED!!!

Please note that if you run on 12th Gen and need to use the PowerShell Script work around to launch the game, then you will also need to launch the PowerShell Script to run Edit in Game. No changes need to be made to the script!!!!!

Barbie Land in the Sims? Check it out!

Hey barbs 💋,

A few months back I started working on a little project: creating a custom Barbie Land (from the Barbie Movie) in the Sims 3.

I now decided to establish some sort of social media presence to post progress updates and in case I make any more worlds in the future, since I have a lot of ideas!

In this blog (and on my TikTok) I'll be posting pictures and videos as I work on the world. If you'd like to get involved, I would love to have you! Send me a message with any cool barbie ideas for lots,sims, or stories! And if you'd like to be a test player, please let me know.

As you can see, there is still a lot of work to be done. Since these pictures I've made a couple of houses and another community lot which I'll share in another post!

This world will have 3 tiers to make it accessible and customizable for everyone.

Tier 1: 🎀 Barbie Basics - University, Island Paradise, Seasons, and Showtime. No store content. Only required mod will be rabbithole rugs.

Tier 2: 🦩Pink Standard - All of the above, plus Pets, Generations, World Adventures, and Ambitions. Midnight Hollow for Savvy Seller Collection. Maybe some store content?

Tier 3: 💎 Very V.I.P - All of the above, plus maybe Supernatural and Katy Perry Sweet Treats. A couple of store content, idk about mods.

Quite a bit of inspiration and references to the Barbie Girls online game. It helps to give me some artistic direction, and also I'm really upset that it got shut down. Maybe this world can capture some of the magic.

For the moment I am a bit stuck, my island paradise pack is in my mom's home so I can't finish Neverland adding the ports and all the mermaids stuff… So I decided to do the land of Sands, adding the ideas that where in my previous version :)

A little delated, but here’s set 6.

As opposite to previous set, which was more green, this contains mainly wastelands. Two distant terrains for cold lands, two for semi-deserts, and two undefined, which are more like dust desert. But it’s up to you, what climat the worlds will have. And yes, the one called “Ancient” was inspired by location in Hollow Knight called “Ancient Basin”, you can tell by black liquid lake.

Fake Citybackground for CAW?

As the questons says, i am looking for placable fake city background. Basically something similar to the fake trees or the fake citybackground in Sims 4. Something that can be placed at the edge of the map or ontop the distant terrain for decoration. No shells, really just a piece of fake background.

Welcome to Woodvale 🌿

Even though I know next to nothing about Sims 3 Create a World, I'm attempting to revamp Sunset Valley. Did anyone ask for this? No. I am obsessed with redoing Sunset Valley? Yes.

I started just remodeling all the houses in Sims 3, but then I thought, "what if? The roads weren't ugly?"

And here we are. Each road is going to be renamed to Taylor Swift references. And to make the city feel more "walkable".

And because I initally made this tumblr to fangirl about Dragon Age, maybe there will be some references to Thedas, or maybe I'll revamp Dragon Valley next...

About CAW custom worlds..

I'm unsure how far this will reach, but I'm really curious about what the best approach to making worlds is. I didn't use an ounce of CC or store content in my last world, Simattle, but I did in my previous, Lemon Tree. It's very little cc that I realize I did not make it more apparent was needed when I watched Simplicity's review of it. It also used Midnight Hollow, Monte' Vista, and a store lot which makes it feel less accessible.

P.S. Since Edit in Game is fixed I will be revisiting Lemon Tree soon, I've learned so much since I built that world!! I'm a master at making and laying down roads now 😈

Mini-Video Preview of San Marina

So, I guess the next world slated for release by The Sims Depot will be San Marina. This is a world I've been working on forever and is about 80% done. I struggled with it because I was getting burnt out on worldbuilding, as well as hit a creative wall. Finally getting and installing University gave me a burst of inspiration, so I've been burning the midnight oil recently. I'm also eager to move on to Stilwater, which is the next WIP that looks to be released this year (Godwilling).

I believe this will be out by the summer. I'm currently in the process of finishing some of the lots and moving a couple of others around. My concern about it is that it's going to be a little too large for some, so I suppose I'll have to do a Lite version of San Marina as well.

Here are some restaurant exteriors I made for my town revamp. Izakaya, burger restaurant, and sushi bar. I made custom signage for the izakaya. Akamaru is a real restaurant chain in Japan.
