Going off of a concept from @halftoning for amnesiac isekaied Guybrush stuck in the Sam&Max verse- as "Guy" or "Journalist Guy" who finds himself as an investigative reporter, specifically reporting on the cases of Sam&Max.

We also have Agent Nelson Tethers. After the disaster in Scoggins involving assault of government agents and destruction of government property/a government secret weapon, instead of being fired or locked up, he was scooped up and made the assistant of Agent Superball. Now he's in charge of following up on the cases of Sam&Max, helping tie up loose ends and assisting in cleanup.

The two cross paths and decide to teamup/share information, as both are hunting down a certaim loose end... Sam&Max may have caught the museum thieves of the pyrite parrot, but just who was hiring them? Who is behind the demand, and what other seemingly random burglaries may be tied to this, and what does a forgotten legend about an undead pirate king have to do with anything? The red strings of both conspiracy and of fate are at play...

The dream team that would absolutely destroy Taskmaster (the show), meshing together so well- Of unflappable calm matched with boisterous energy, the ability to find the most precise straightforward answer matched with the ability to find the most out of the box and strangely clever answer. A puzzle solving dream team- instead of personalities clashing, they end up as complimentary foils to perfectly balance each other out. Autism king and ADHD king.

Oh you are not alone believe me. I am avoiding everything to do with the doc because the kid's involvement is my line in the sand. And you are a better person than I am because I don't actually understand why Louis has to do this anymore. Whether it be contracts, closet, career etc. I'm at a point where none of those things are acceptable reasons for using a child on such a big scale. And I'm truly astounded by how many people are saying just focus on Louis and ignore the kid because that is not the point at all. It's that this is so fucked and needs to be acknowledged as such.

Right? And I wish I could not care so much! But I just CAN’T! In my head there are two options

1) louis is the real father and hence the SHITTIEST father I’ve ever heard of, the laundry list of reasons being too long to recount but there’s a reason the first half of that kid’s life isn’t in the doc, and I’m sorry as mostly women in this fandom if he did have an oopsie baby every single thing about how he handled it, as both a millionaire and a man, is fucked up (and to be clear I don’t believe this, I’m just saying this is one of the two options)

2) louis is not the father, this is a stunt and for nearly seven years now he’s been burdened with this albatross of a fandom divider, and instead of putting to rest rumors or taking an ACTUAL DNA TEST he decides the best thing to do, for whatever reason, is to dig deep into the false narrative and hope he can have his cake and eat it too. I’m super pissed at this on many levels and whatever his reasoning, yeah, I have a nephew F’s age, and I can’t imagine burdening a kid with a legacy that is doomed to blow up one way or another, at some time or another. It’s super fucked up. It truly is. And I “trust” Louis, in that I get he’s making savvy career moves, and I believe he genuinely cares about the kid. But you know how when you’re in the middle of a shit relationship or a horrible job or an abusive teacher you really can’t think clearly or realize the true magnitude of the fuckery until you’re OUT from under it?? Yeah I feel like bbygate has warped every participant to the point that this is nbd to them. Meanwhile me and anon over here are like WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

Yes I did! I'm really sorry, I've been meaning to send you all my notes/highlights from the Shattered pod ep like I promised I would, but my last semester of grad school started like 2.5 weeks ago and I've just been massively overwhelmed since then. 😭

Tbh, you could probably watch the full Shattered pod if you wanted, it was a pretty good ep for Talkville standards. The biggest highlight was probably Michael saying that the moment where Lex sees Clark use his powers for the first time is his favorite Lex moment in the series (especially in terms of his own performance)—he's clearly really proud of this episode and I think that made the pod better in general. Also Lionel gets called an evil bastard a couple of times, Tom points out how we all feel bad for Lex by the end of the episode, and Al Gough calls the Clex relationship "the focal point of the series." Other stuff happens too ofc, but I'd say those were my top moments.

The Asylum pod was... less good, IMO—like, it wasn't bad I guess, but some stuff def left me feeling kinda frustrated, so I wouldn't really recommend that you watch that one askldfsk (I could probably skim through it again and collect some highlights from it if you want, though)

As for Akio and c!Sam...idk I'm not convinced. Abusive, certainly, but I think in order to manipulate someone in the truest sense of the word, you need to be conscious of the act of manipulation: the phrasing used, the images invoked, the ideas being put into effect, etc. And in that sense, I don't think I'd characterize c!Sam as a particularly manipulative character because he believes everything he says, believes in his narrow vision of justice, believes Dream is wicked, believes himself to be in the right...he believes all of it with his whole chest. His conviction is one of his defining traits.

c!Quackity, on the other hand? Him, I'd be much more willing to describe as manipulative. That stream where he goes to the island to console Sam about Tommy's death but ends up (almost) convincing him to kill Dream is one of my favorites, he's walking the line between sincere and obviously manipulative like a professional tightrope walker. To me, some of his behaviors are much more Akio-ish.

ok, i don't know why i just glossed over this part earlier.

there are some inconsistencies in what the iron bull says about his background, here and there, e.g. in what bull says was his reason to reach out to the inquisition (krem says it was bull who reached out VS bull says it was krem while mimicking him VS bull says it was on his superiors' orders), but another detail i noticed is what he says about his merry trip into the re-educators' establishment.

bull says that one day he basically woke up and found himself unfit for his role:

one day i woke up and couldn't think of a damned reason to keep doing my job. turned myself in to the reeducators.

but what's told us as well is that he snapped and went on the killing spree, and then people were sent for him, and that's when he declared himself unfit:

which sent him in a berserk state. when his surviving soldiers later came back for him with reinforcements, they found him unmoving, covered in wounds and surrounded by the butchered corpses of the tal-vashoth warriors. he declared himself unfit for duty and too dangerous to be around civilians, submitting himself to the ben-hassrath re-educators.

which is not the “woke up with the realization” situation at all, not a boulder suddenly crushing one's shoulders, but a snapping moment.

now, i don't think bull lies. these may as well be parts of the same true story. he did wake up in that state some day, maybe even weeks prior to his breakdown. he could just ignore that, figures anyone on that island learns to ignore a thing or two. maybe it even scared him shitless, but he kept going as he always did, because one of his main traits is incredible stubbornness. maybe he said to himself, that it's alright, actually.

and then he snaps, kills people and turns himself in to the re-educators. because he understands that the matter is way more serious, and he's reached the end point.

for me there were some things that fell into place. nothing that wasn't said directly in the canon, just got some things consistency-wise, nice logical structure.

after bull becomes tal-vashoth he keeps talking about losing control due to straying away from the path of the qun. but it isn't just something he's been indoctrinated to, or what he deduced after fighting tal-vashoth. this isn't an idea bull is scared of because he’s just going through new experience.

that's something that actually happened to him, or at least he believes it did. he strayed away from his path, ignored it, kept fighting, and then lost control. it's suddenly not just a cautionary tale.

another thing is that hissrad kept fighting for 8 years because he believed he could change something, quoting gatt: “he thinks that if he does the right thing, then everything will work. he's been in seheron for ten years trying to make everything work.” certainly, he fought to make civilians' lives better. to protect and help. hissrad stopped when he couldn't see the end goal anymore. not just because he grew tired, or due to his grief, or because of horror he felt after the attack on the school. i'm pretty sure he would've kept fighting if he still had a goal, but this absence of aim was exactly a deal breaker.

even if one doesn't see worth in their own work, to which every part of the qun's common body strives, one can always hide in that hope for a change from their doubts. i can only imagine how many times bull and warriors on seheron would turn to “eventually the tides wear away the mountain”. especially when their own grief is so repetitive they need the goal so they won't break the cycle.

so, that's exactly what bull is cut off from when he becomes tal-vashoth. it would be easier for him to become disappointed in the ideology, but bull isn't that type of tal-vashoth.

iron bull: you mean getting exiled from my people and declared tal-vashoth? yeah, i should make a cake.

sera: you like drinking and singing and breaking beds. you’d already left.

from the outsider's perspective nothing changed in his life, save he got cut off of his own people. every companion pretty much gets it, some are happy for bull, some are sorry.

but it changes drastically for bull. he had an aim before, whether it was that he was making the world a better place from the qun's perspective, or that he wanted to prove himself to superiors and come back.

bull is a person used to devote himself, with great power and loyalty, and after he's declared tal-vashoth, he doesn't have a place to apply that might. maybe bull could find some peace in helping the inquisition with corypheus.

but after that..? in my case, the inquisitor lavellan gets it, he also had to invent the goal of helping elves and mages just to keep going, but the iron bull isn't quite invested in thedosian political games or ideologies for this trick to work.

chargers are living their best lives and doing their job well, but this hedonistic way of life is opposed to the qun's teachings. i guess earlier bull could make himself believe that even these little silly deeds helped the bigger picture somehow, this desire to help the whole society through every action being something the qun taught him. tal-vashoth bull is cut off from this bigger picture. this slot in his mind is empty.

this might be the biggest struggle for bull. he can keep moving forward, he's good at it, but that might be an aimless path for him.

really want to write a post on minna sundberg's bizarre fluffy bunny calvinism autobio comic without going into a way too personal dive into my own mental illness and how insanely #relatable reading about her nihilism death spiral felt, and how surreal it felt to see that presented in a comic with anthropomorphic rabbits. except i didn't become a hardline calvinist about it and tell my readership that they were going to hell, i guess 👍 i stay winning..........
