I posted this on my twitter some time ago, but i never posted it here!

In mid-2020, I attempted to make a 4-panel comic series with my Splatoon OCs, but I quickly grew disinterested in the project. Still, it was pretty good practice for things I'm working on now.

The last two were abandoned WIPs. The first one would've been a joke involving someone "camping in spawn," and the second one was drawn some time later after Splatoon 3's Story Mode was revealed.

thinking, as always, of ives from ravenous (1999) as a folklore devil. needless to say i’ve always loved the devil, and loved him in the guise of the wanderer who wears human features as an ill-fitting suit, but there’s also something so satisfyingly devilish in the way ives just laughs at the world. he has fun, whoever he is. he leads men up a mountain as colqhoun, and chases them back down into foxholes as ives. it puts me in mind of someone’s description of the weird sisters in macbeth as dancing children, playing a game with the world. ives speaks as if he’s engaged in a constant joke that only he gets, one that seems to exceed the boundaries of the particular location and time period he finds himself in. indeed, the fact he’s in the sierra nevada in the 1840s seems to be purely serendipitous. much like leland gaunt in stephen king’s needful things, he can (and does) sell man the same thing, over and over and over again. i suppose i’m thinking in particular about when he pushes boyd over the cliff-edge, and stands for a minute at the top before delicately making his way down the cliff on a path no one else knew was there. or back at the cave to begin with, deliberately degenerating into gesture and incoherence. or when he talks about manifest destiny as hart butchers knox’s body behind him, talking stagelike as if in the voices of those who may come to populate the waystation in the spring: ‘we’ve got enough mouths to feed as it is’. nothing fits on ives like it’s meant to, because everything can fit on him. man of god, military captain, cannibal. his story even flits from the sierra nevada to the rockies at one point, and it’s still a tale boyd’s heard before. the way he talks is so out of step with the language that you expect from the time, and that you hear from others. ‘annoying’, ‘sneaky’, who else in 1842 talks like this? he’s even delighted by what wounds him. he dies laughing. it’s an old trope but i’m fond of it

Gameplay things I’ve learned playing Freelancer:

Sharing in case anyone finds them useful :)

(List under the cut in case of unintentional spoilers)

Fire extinguishers don’t do well with the prestige collateral accident objective, but they DO open safes if you have a firearm with you to instigate the boom. (But PLEASE stay a safe distance away when you fire at it.)

Related to above: if you have to or want to open a safe with an explosive that you don’t have—and the supplier doesn’t have a remote device or Semtex block to buy—you can use a propane flask or fire extinguisher. But again, STAY BACK and be ready for angry security guards if it’s not in a closed-off area.

My favorite things to bring on most contracts: non-lethal melee weapon, lockpick, and Sieker if possible. My favorite melee weapon is a wrench, it can act as a noise distraction and no one will pick it up when investigating. Then I can immediately pick it up again and thwack whoever I’m after, plus it can help fix/break things in a level (ex. Loosen gas valve on a heater). Sieker is useful but be sure you’re not too close to your intended target because they may freak out and yell at you about it after you fire it, even if you’re in hiding. The lockpick is VERY useful for load-ins where your starting position is, say, in a trespassing zone with many angry guards around and little to do but sneak your way out of there.

If you’re wanting to pick up an item that will alert everyone (say, you’re dressed as mansion staff but really want that knife in the kitchen), make sure to have a big item on you like a fire extinguisher (that you can’t pocket). When you’re holding a big item, you can pick up smaller items and immediately pocket them without upsetting any NPCs around you.

I nearly always go erase the cameras, even if I’m not in an area where I’ll be around a lot of them. There are usually other goodies in the security offices (ex. Access cards) as well as weapons you can pick up and bring back to your safehouse so you don’t have to pay for them—this is especially good to do if you’re dressed as security and can pick weapons up before you leave the level.

If you are able to, try to pick up items in a level that you can bring back from medical areas. For instance, there is a medical area at the race track in Miami where you can usually find a lethal syringe in a medical cabinet (a Sierra Knox mission story location)—in Freelancer, this is a sedative syringe. If you are able to get in the staff-only storage area and get it, then you can bring it back to your safehouse to use in a future mission. (This also works for special buildings in other levels—muffin lady’s house in Whittleton Creek has two types of poison in the basement.)

If you’re starting out and need a silenced weapon, try (carefully!) to take down an assassin during a showdown. They can just as easily be distracted like a target to go into an area where you can knock them out and take their weapon. This is very useful to get as you can’t predict when you’ll see a silenced pistol in the rewards/afford a silenced pistol from a supplier.

If you get a timed hide-and-seek prestige objective, try using it on a smaller level (ex. New York).

A camera feature that I really appreciate (but didn’t realize until my second showdown) are the “not a suspect” and “prime suspect” designations. It really helps to use that function and not follow around a bunch of purple people on the map when I’ve already cleared them of being the target.

todd - sunkist/the good orange sodas. you know the ones. they taste like the sun. (bc todd is more anaologous to the sun and neil is the moon, i think. maybe? who knows? i don't.)

cam - sprite. clear and simple, but still enrapturing. like cam! anyway (mcdonald's sprite. that's all i gotta say)

pitts - dr. pepper. on the right side of cherry flavored but still hints of other things. it gives off mysterious tall boy vibes and i feel like he'd like it (bc its red too) idk

meeks - mountain dew. no i will not elaborate.

knox - root beer. i don't like root bear but sunny does. sunny says it gives off knox vibes, and yk what? slay.

charlie - sierra mist. outdated and discontinued, even though i liked it while it lasted. i forgot this was supposed to be sodas they liked and not sodas that represented them. oops. i love you charlie. maybe. idk. again, who knows? not i.

"We gotta wash off all the dirt from our playdate at the park with uncle Mase and Aiden," Lennox chuckled, sitting down on the round in front of the tub. Sienna and Sierra immediately grabbed the toys but Lennox noticed that Knox was quieter than usual.

"Knox? You ok buddy?" He asked and Knox shook his head as he looked up at his father.

"I miss Mommy," he sniffled, his eyes shining with tears. Spencer had been in London for 5 days already, working on her latest clothing line.

"Oh, I know," Lennox sighed.

"When is she coming home?"

"Not for 7 more days," Lennox replied, cringing when Knox immediately burst out into tears.

"I want Mommy!"

"I know, she's been gone for so long, yeah?" Lennox said, reaching out and running his hand over his son's head. "I miss Mommy too."

"You do?"

"I do, and I know that she misses us too," he nodded. "Here, how about we send Mommy a picture to make her feel better?"

"Yes," Knox agreed with a small smile and Lennox took the win. Grabbing his phone, he went to his camera and held it up.

"Say cheese kiddos," Lennox called, chuckling when they all smiled brightly; Knox's matching Spencer's boxy smile and Sierra and Sienna having Lennox's wide one. After getting a few good ones, Lennox instantly sent them off to his wife before setting his phone aside again.

"Here, if you guys take a bath fast enough, we might be able to catch Mommy when she's having lunch," Lennox said.

"Wash, Daddy!" Sienna demanded. "Wash!"

"Ok baby," Lennox smiled to himself as he proceeded to bath his children.

I've found the best characters for my AEW/WWE Fan-Fiction stories, I got the main boys from the Vampire Diaries and the Originals, and got the three married wives and a former girlfriend turned friend.

We know that most of the wrestlers here will be faces or heels, but I want them as the baddest bosses while the good guys are gonna be portrayed as sixteen newcomers who's shorter.

I got Jordan "Dan" Sweeto, Kayleigh "Wolfy" Smyth | Wolfychu, Patrick "Patty" Walters, Dorothy "Dottie" Martin, Johnnie Guilbert, Alexandria "Alex" Dorame, James Tyler Hagen, Shannon "Shan" Taylor, Nathan "Nate" Owens, Leda "Monster Bunny" Muir, Damon "Dee" Fizzy, Carson Fanikos, Luke Jeydon Wale, Samantha "Sam" Rochelle, Kyle David Hall, and Meghan Marie Hogan for the OC portrayals cause I like people within the goth/punk/emo/scene style.

I figured that modern day of straight history meets attitude era for their bad influence; my sixteen OCs doesn't care for the rules and are the most rebellious people in WWE.

This takes place from SummerSlam 2012 for the Fallen Angels and their first victory in Night of Champions: Gold Rush; Survivor Series 2012 for the Shield and their first victory in TLC; Royal Rumble 2013 for the Dark Gods and their first victory in Elimination Chamber; WrestleMania 29 for the Resistance and their first victory in Extreme Rules; they're known as the Pack of Lone Wolves.

For each OC stable...their names are the following; the Unholy Circle for the girls, the Genesis for the girls, the Blood Order for the boys, and the Demolition for the boys; they're the Pride of Wild Lions.
