Rolo’s involvement in the story is pretty much over, so in order to add something else to this post here’s a video showing the moment when you get BK!Rolo from gacha. Written: “My reason for existing was Brother and nothing else” Voice: “I destroyed what was most important to me with my own hands. That’s why I have to fight!” Can’t find the logic in that statement, but okay. I actually gacha’d him before playing the event, so upon seeing these lines I was already fearing what was going to happen... and still thought there was no way Lelouch wouldn’t come back at the end of the story. Maybe Shirley and Rolo would have to work together to go rescue him from some different dimension (since this game has them) or the World of C or something?  Nope. Here, have some cutesy Rolo sticker to use as a protection charm.

Let’s get this over with already. I’m not exactly sure why because, I’m sorry, I just really didn’t want to keep playing this event, but Shirley becomes Zero. 

She sends Rolo to rescue Nunnally like in Turn 18, except this time he actually does rescue her:

Rolo “I finally found you, Nunnally”

Nunnally “A voice I don’t know... Who are you?”

Rolo “I’m Rolo. I’ve been asked to take you to a safe place.” I also killed Lelouch Lamperouge but I don’t think you know him. He was my bro.

Nunnally “Take me?”

 Rolo “Yes.”

That’s it. No more. It’s over!! I’m free from having to keep soiling this ROLO blog with this NON-ROLO CHARACTER!! Ah, not really. Still have to post his Home and Dearness lines... I’m doing this for you, Daichuu.  There’s some more story scenes I guess, but Rolo only has like 2 lines left where he just takes Nunnally to Ashford and tells those gathered there that he was asked to do so. That’s Suzaku, Kallen, C.C., Nunnally, Zero and I can’t remember if there was anyone else. Zero reveals that she’s actually Shirley and that Lulu is gone, and the story ends with the Shirley who was with Ar accepting this version of herself. Nice fanfic.  Happy ending for everyone except those who will miss Lelouch, which is everyone from the main cast? Though Suzaku didn’t fire FLEIJA, so that’s millions of people who were saved thanks to Lelouch’s death. I think the moral here is that Rolo did a good job. I almost forgot, the characters all have profile descriptions which are usually just a summary of what happens to them during the story, but BK!Rolo has some extra fanfiction in his Profile #5:

While having casual conversations with Shirley, at some point the topic of the locket attached to his phone was brought up. Rolo said “a locket for girls is weird, right?” without alluding to Nunnally, but when Shirley replied “I think it suits you”, he felt a strange warm feeling.   You know, that might have been sweet if this wasn’t a story where Lelouch was previously killed by Rolo.

I just saw Prince Schneizel’s and Lelouch’s first interaction together and I had forgotten that I ship them. Yup. Code Geass: Anti SuzaLulu R2 did such a wonderful job of destroying my OTP. All Suzaku does is constantly remind us that he loves Bitchphemia and hates Lelouch.

While, it’s still my OTP. Cause’ I always just ignore a few things about this ship after watching the show.

My son yas!!!

His character is just as interesting as Totsuka's. Rolo never knew love cause since he was at least 5 (going by his appearance in episode 4 and in background panels in the Oz manga) he grew up a an assassin. Lelouch was the first person who was ever kind to him,but he knew this was only temporary. He craved his love and affection to the point that when someone would try to become in between his relationship with his brother he would resort to murder cause he never knew how to cope with feelings of jealousy aside from that. He probably caught on that Lelouch was just using him not too long after he got his memories back cause of how much Lelouch loves Nunnally that he murmurs in his sleep. Rolo didn't care cause the bond they shared while Lelouch's memories were locked away was real to him that it made him feel like a human instead of just a tool. He sacrificed himself even after Lelouch told him how much he hated him and wanted him dead. He was one of the most loyal characters in Code Geass along with Jeremiah and Guilford.

I usually am afraid to say how much I love Rolo outside of the internet cause most of the western fanbase seems to hate him cause he killed Shirley which when they tell me that in my mind I'm like " She is the worst character in the series and one of the worst anime females I ever had the displeasure or watching in general", but my mouth says "He is too cute for me to hate" followed by a nervous laugh and changing topics real fucking quick. I just do not want to draw attention to myself in public or nerd rage over fictional character in front of non anime fans.

Rolo has far too less screen time and wasted potential its been 10+ years and not novel or manga adaption about the geass cult? Also Taniguchi degrading him to just Shirley's murderer and that is why he didn't want to add him to the movies and I was like so you just accidently wrote a deep character? Have you turned senile the pass 10 years? Also the Code Geass committee made him add Rolo so at least we know that some people on the staff still has his back after all this time.

I'm just really happy he is still getting merch sure its always badges or straps, but I think it means he is popular enough to still make a profit off. You don't see much of any other supporting character as much a him.

Also I was depressed while watching R2 it was one of the couple times where I hit rock bottom and was starving myself and crying and feeling helpless a lot. Its just when I saw Rolo smile in the first episode and I was like who is his kid and why do I love him while I do not even know him. So I stay tuned each week to hope he would have some screen time and when he died I was crushed and I wanted to drop the show, but I changed my mind cause I felt like it would be a disservice to Rolo so I watched the rest of the show and the last 4ish episodes were really good. So he kinda gave me something to look forward to and I got out of that current slump and started eating more for a good few months. So in a way he did kinda save my life so he is very special to me and I get personally offended when people mindlessly bash him even though I know that I shouldn't care, but I do.

I used to be a yaoi fan girl at the time so my OTP was in fact Leloch x Rolo, but after I got out of that phase I was like what was wrong with me? I didn't even like the way he treated him in the first place and I still do this day have never done a complete watchthrough of R2 since its first airing back in 2008. My main ships with Rolo are with Nunnally,Gino, and Suzaku. I just find Lelouch's and Rolo's relationship to be very toxic with Lelouch manipulating Rolo and trying to kill him while Rolo would kill anyone who come in his way of his relationship with Lelouch. I guess I just want to bury myself in lighthearted Rolo content and Nunnally and Gino fanart does just that. Rolo x Nunnally will be my OTP of all OTPS no one will take my dead cold ass hands off this ship instead of the writers coming out and officially 100% say they are in fact half or full siblings.

I'm really hoping for Rolo to return in the new series somehow he deserves to come back also the series is the sequel to the movies so he doesn't really need to redeem himself for Shirley's death since she is alive in this universe so come on lets go! bring him back to us!

Lelouch

Why I like them: Lelouch is a really, really complicated character, but he’s a wonderfully complicated character. I love how deep he goes. I love writing him too, it’s so much fun to see how everything he’s gone through actually affects him. There aren’t that many characters I know that are actually constructed as well as Lelouch is (outside CG, that is). So yeah. Also, have you looked at him? That boy is beautiful as fuck and rocks dresses better than I, a female presenting person who feels the most comfortable in dresses and skirts, do. “I saw a man so beautiful I started crying” really fits Lelouch.  Why I don’t: Uh, well, since I love Lelouch it’s a little hard to answer the question, but perhaps it’s that he’s absolutely horrible at taking others’ feelings into consideration and yeah. He’s also quick to sacrifice people around him until they actually become important to him, which is like, yes, understandable considering the environment he grew up in, but also “Lelouch what the fuck no.” Favorite episode (scene if movie): The moment he announces he’s now the emperor is definitely among my favourite ones (I’ve rewatched it perhaps a few too many times), as is the episode where he falls from the roof totally on purpose and Re; (bc srsly Zero Requiem is something too beautiful I can’t--). Favorite season/movie: Second season without a question, still have only watched the first of the movies so,,,, Favorite line: Nooo I cannot choose I love so many lines that he has...... I’ll just give you a few. “When will the war end? When someone wins”, “To defeat evil, I must become an even greater evil”, and “I must spill yet more blood, so that the blood already spilt will not be in vain.” Those at least are absolutely amazing.  Favorite outfit: I love basically any that isn’t his Zero outfits bc gold and purple don’t fit that well together. They’re good, yes, but having to see them on him so much is kinda ugh (unless his jacket is open bc then it looks better and also the new Zero outfit in Re;surrection is good). Like ok I do like the Zero outfit but still. Anyway. Here are some I love.

OTP: Uh. SuzaLulu. It has not changed since the last time we talked about this. Brotp: In general my favourite platonic ship for him is just him and Nunnally because I love me some cute siblings being siblings, but actual brotp would probably be him and Kallen or him and C.C. because honestly we know that he and C.C. really, truly care about each other (regardless of how bad they are at expressing it for most of the series). Please give me content of C.C. and Lelouch being best friends and being up to No Good and causing chaos (but like, no bloodshed chaos, nothing harmful). Head Canon: Lelouch was actually good friends with Anya (as was Nunnally) when they were children (though realised this far too late and that’s why he considers Suzaku his first friend anyway) and secretly hopes he could get her to come to his side because that’s another dear childhood friend fighting him on Britannia’s side. Also considers Milly more of a sister than any of his actual sisters aside from Nunnally, Euphie and Cornelia. Unpopular opinion: Again, not sure if it’s an unpopular opinion at this point anymore, but what Lelouch did was not right. He did what he thought was necessary, but even he himself knew that what he was up to was wrong, evil, so yeah.   A wish: Hey let’s get him to therapy as well he needs it just about as much as Suzaku does ok I want to see him getting better like actually better An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Please let’s not have him lose one single loved one anymore like,,, he’s lost far too many, either to death or bc he doesn’t know how to keep people. Like, Shirley? Dead. Rolo? Dead. Kallen? Hurt her (if mostly to save her life and give her another chance) so badly she left him, and Lelouch is dead (yes I’m mostly ignoring Re;surrection completely). C.C.? Again, Lelouch is dead. Suzaku? Lelouch is dead (also hurt him so badly that their friendship was, well. Not beyond repair but these two idiots are so horrible at repairing their friendship that one killing the other did nothing good to their chances). Rivalz? Again, hurt him and also Lelouch is dead. Milly? Still, Lelouch is dead and she was left with only the certain knowledge he was the Demon Emperor (even if she might believe otherwise bc she knew him). Euphie? Dead. Nunnally? Lelouch is still dead ok and for the last few months of his life she was basically manipulated into hating him and believing he didn’t love her or care about her, by both Schneizel and Lelouch himself. The Black Knights (while not loved ones, they were important)? Betrayed him. You know, I think it’s starting to look like this should not happen to anyone, let alone an 18-year-old damnit. 5 words to best describe them: Petty, dramatic, caring, revengeful, intelligent. Why is 1 (Mimato) so important? Mimato was the first fandom I ever truly was a part of when I was a teenager and then got back into when I picked up drawing again in my 20s. I made an LJ community (yamatoxmimi) and was friends with a lot of FFN writers back in it’s heyday; I keep in touch with a few oldfarts of the fandom. And it’s amazing that such a crack ship has so many supporters even to this day :> In their respective world though they’re 1/4 of the Chosen Children. As a pairing, they’re not important towards the story at all considering they only interact once in the series, bahaha... *cries softly*

Is 9 (Lancaster) a funny ship or a serious ship? More of a funny ship though they have their serious moments.

Out of all of the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry? Ahhh, it’s so hard to choose?! I’m going to say Zutara. They went from bitter enemies to trusting each other, a betrayal and then earning that trust back to eventually becoming a power duo. They’ve both had similar life experiences that they’ve bonded over and the tension between them urrghh. And they just work so well together. I’ll be honest though, Clerith probably has the best chemistry, especially since they pretty much were attracted to each other on their first meeting. But instead of having this entire post be about Clerith, I figure I’d talk about another pair, hahaha.

Out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond? CLERITH, fosho. Their love transcends death *cries* Aerith’s presence lives on in Cloud and helps him even in the Lifestream; they’re connected to each other spiritually. Though literally SasuSaku has the strongest bond. I mean Naruto as a whole is about bonds, especially within Team 7, hehe. Y’know maybe I should switch my answers for this with the last one, lmao.

How many times have you read/watched 10’s (SasuSaku) fandom? Hoo boy, going through all of Naruto is a job, but I think I’ve re-read part 1 of the manga like 2-3 times while it was still in syndication. I dropped it a little bit into part 2 then picked it back up near the end and I don’t follow Boruto at all, but I did read the Sarada side-story after the original manga ended. I’ve watched all of Naruto’s original anime once, but only about 5 episodes of Shippuden.

Which ship has lasted the longest? In real life? Clerith. In universe? SasuSaku.

How many times, if ever, has 6 (KAIMiku) broken up? Hard to say since I don’t know all of their songs. Also depends on which version of a certain song you consider your canon (i.e. From Y to Y). But that’s the beauty of Vocaloid: you can use the characters as you see fit :>

If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 (Clerith) or 8 (MikoChiyo)? LMAOO, Clerith, hands-down. I can’t even imagine Mikorin and Chiyo in a zombie situation unless it was one of Nozaki’s manga ideas xD

Did 7 (MaouEmi) ever have to hide their relationship for any reason? Yeah, as individuals they do. Emi as the Hero Emilia Justina and Maou as Demon Lord Satan. And it’s very strongly hinted that Emi harbors feelings for Maou which she denies/hides. I’d imagine if they got together they might try to hide their relationship for awhile if they were to ever return to Ente Isla but we’ll just have to wait and see since HataMaou isn’t over yet :)

Is 4 (VaniHopu) still together? QAQ noo… They’re doomeddestined to be star-crossed lovers till the end of time. In fact the last time they were together were in the original FFXIII ;^;

Is 10 (SasuSaku) canon? *flails and cheers* It’s the only pairing on my list that’s outright confirmed and shown being canon. And it still feels so good after 15+ years of shipping it.

If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win? HMMM. About half of my list is power couples so this is a toughy. BUT I think LuluShir would, if only because Lelouch would use his geass to come out on top, lmao. Though thinking about eye powers now, SasuSaku might because of Sasuke’s Rinnegan. Definitely a tough choice between those two pairs; depends on whose eye would trump the other :D

Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s (LuluShir) ship? Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s (Zutara) tumblr page? Not at all until very recently (like since a week ago). It was always a ship I idly supported until I got back into ATLA again, and now I’m hopeless :’D

If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all forever, which ship would you sink? I… well, most of them are impossible or separated somehow anyway… but… M-Mi…mato…? Why I like them: He wants to destroy a horrible imperialist empire and kill his dad, which he doesn’t even hesitate to do the moment he gets a chance. He’s somehow really cool and a giant dork at the same time? He does literally everything For The Drama and also it’s purple? At any given moment he is full on Distinguished or Disaster, seamlessly transitioning between the two

Why I don’t: He’s so manipulative and selfish, thinks he knows what’s best for everybody without considering their own wishes, doesn’t realize how his actions affect other people. That time when he’s like “Kallen I’m sad, be my comfort woman. :( :( :(”

Favorite episode (scene if movie): Probably World of C (R2-15) or One Million Miracles (R2-8) but it’s really hard to pick. I have least favorites, but not really clear favorites.

Favorite season/movie: R2, but like Suzaku I really, really enjoy his whole character arc from start to finish

what character caught your eye when you first watched: Lelouch

you first favorite character: Lelouch

what is your favorite character now: Lelouch (basically I just liked Lelouch from the moment I started watching)

describe why you love your favorite character: I love a lot of what he did as Zero, with leading a rebellion against an empire that needed to be taken down.  He didn’t always go about it the right way, but his motives were good ones.

what is some development that you wish they had implemented on the show (keep it positive):

a ship that never got together but shipped:  Euphie and Suzaku was an adorable ship and I wanted them to be happy together.

a ship that did get together and wanted it to be endgame:  Not sure if I should count Lelouch and Shirley kissing once as being together, but I wanted them to be together at the end of the anime.

what is your favorite season:  Probably the first one, but I liked both seasons.

what is your favorite episode:  I liked most of the episodes, but I really liked episode 13 from the first season when Shirley realizes that Lelouch is Zero, and I also like episode 19 from season 1 a lot, when Lelouch, Euphie, Suzaku and Kallen are all on that island.

talk about an episode that was significant for a favorite character:  Episode 13 from season 2 was a very significant episode for Lelouch.  When Rolo killed Shirley, that set Lelouch on the path to destroy the geass order.  Also the episode where Lelouch loses control of his geass in season 1, which leads to the whole tragedy with Euphie and the special zone was significant for a lot of the characters, including Lelouch and Suzaku.

what is one of your favorite headcanons about one of the characters:  I’m not sure

if any character could date someone from another fandom, who would your otp be: I don’t usually ship characters from other fandoms together.

I’ve never understood all the hate Rolo gets. I’m rewatching Code Geass S2 for like the third or fourth time. I absolutely love him! I always have.

I also simply adore his ship with Lelouch. Like, Season 2 of Code Geass completely ruined SuzaLulu. But, I’ve always been a simp for Lelouch x Rolo. S2 may have killed SuzaLulu but, it gave us Lelouch x Rolo.

The only ship where Lelouch tops. Yup. Rolo is just thaaat much of an Uke. Plus, he’s completely infatuated with Lelouch. No one can ever ignore that he’s obsessed, infatuated and very much in love with Lelouch.

I freaking love Rolo and his ship! Like, I love him so much that I can never feel angry towards him for killing off Shirley. Who is like my 4th favorite female character. Not to mention how her ship with Lelouch is probably my straight OTP.

Least favorite characters: Well since there are only two characters I hate in the entire franchise I’ll just list them both Ougi Kaname and Shirley Fenette. That’s it lol.

Yeah I know I’m weird cause most people would put down Nina or Lelouch’s parents on this part, but I actually love Charles and Marianne and Nina I am neutral on she get better near the end of R2 and the sequel movie plus she is rather interesting and I find her infamy among the fandom entertaining also I got a kick out of her memes the past 10 years. Like how can I hate her after all that? I just can’t~ xD

The character I’m most like: Well my favorite Co-worker calls me a sassy little shit and the only sass master is our girl CC.

Favorite pairings: Rolo x Nunnally ever since the Kiseki no Birthday PD I MEAN JUST LOOK AT THIS CUTENESS DOES IT JUST MAKE YOUR HEART MELT? MY OTP FOR THIS SERIES

Least favorite pairings: Lelouch x Shirley or Shirley with anyone honestly,Lelouch x Rolo, and Ougi x Villetta that is it for this section

Favorite moment: That time Lelouch freaked out when Arthur came out with his Zero helmet stuck on his head. Priceless lol. Not from the anime, but in a sound drama Lelouch and Suzaku were eating pocky and they kissed and Rolo was like NIIIIIIIII-SAAAANNNNNN. I laughed my ass off.

Rating out of 10: First season 9/10, Second season 5/10, Akito the Exiled 8/10, all the various one shot PDs pretty much I gave them all 8/10 as well, The Trilogy movies I would say a 5/10 and Resurrection 5/10.
