#shiny dustox line

Tumblr media
Beautifly has a long mouth like a coiled needle, which is very convenient for collecting pollen from flowers. This Pokémon rides the spring winds as it flits around gathering pollen. Dustox is instinctively drawn to light. Swarms of this Pokémon are attracted by the bright lights of cities, where they wreak havoc by stripping the leaves off roadside trees for food.

Thoughts on Wurmple?
Just Wurmple?
Tumblr media
Wurmple is fairly straightforward--there's a bit of a gimmick with the entire line, but at this stage it's mostly a regular caterpillar--but for being a regular caterpillar, I rather like the design for what it is. It doesn't really resemble any kind of IRL caterpillar that I know of, though the back and the texture in the official art kind of makes me think of a jewel caterpillar. Ironically, we got a jewel caterpillar 'mon later on in the form of Snom, which also has a butt-face like Wurmple here. COINCIDENCE? Yeah, probably.
Anyway, the yellow/red/cream palette is nice, I like the stylized mouth (kind of like abstract mandibles), and the horns on the head and tail. Overall, I think I'd say that I prefer it to Caterpie; both are pretty straightforward caterpillars, but Wurmple is more charming, and doesn't look as much like an actual species (Caterpie looks a lot like a Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillar to me).
Also, this is only partially related to Wurmple itself, but I don't really care for the random evolution method. The idea of a caterpillar that evolves into either a moth or butterfly is a fun idea and works just fine; but why make what it becomes effectively RNG based? It's not like it connects to anything, and it makes it harder for players to get the evolutions they want (RIP to everyone with a shiny Wurmple, myself included). It would've made far more sense to have it evolve into Silcoon/Beautifly during the day and Cascoon/Dustox during the night, seeing as butterflies are day-flying and moths are mostly nocturnal (not all, but most).
Anyway, the point is that Wurmple is fairly plain and isn't bring that much new to the table, but the design itself is perfectly fine and I don't have much to nitpick about it, either. I would say it's my favorite caterpillar 'mon, but Sewaddle exists. Sorry, Wurmple, I still like you.
Also, this has nothing to do with anything, but this anime screencap is amazing and I want everyone to take a moment to appreciate it.

Well it was a really fun birthday. I got a few extra hours of free time so I played Pokemon
Got a shiny Budew ✨️ One of my favorite lines so I'm training them up for Pokedex tasks. I got an Alpha female Burmy to get my last Alpha Wormadam form for my Alpha collection. And I got a Shiny Wurmple that could evolve into Dustox so I have the full shiny family.
I even got a fast ball from the Cramorant in Sword!

PokePinion-Tober 22-31
Spooky day is inching closer and closer!
So far we've done: Dragalge, Skuntank, Cramorant, Lechonk, Delibird, Eglyem, Dusclops, Axew, Bulbasaur, Raticate, and Hattrem, Dratini, Pincurchin, Clefairy, and Tympole
22 Happiny
Tumblr media
I mean of all of the useless babies, this one felt the most useless
Like of all things why on earth would you give Chansey a baby? It's at least a little cute though. The evolution method is also really stupid, like why an oval stone.
It makes no sense.
6/10. Cuteness can't save confusion
23 Shiinotic
Tumblr media
Look at the little guy!!!
I love mushrooms so a pink cutesy mushroom is a great design to me. It's super duper cute, but also creepy with how it lures people into the forest.
Perfect for Halloween and great for me.
My friend also thinks it's cute and what she says goes.
8/10. The lower body looks like an Igglybuff.
23 Persian
Tumblr media
This is one of the worst Pokemon designs ever.
It's seriously just a cat. Not even the name is interesting, when I was googling the picture the first like 7 things, were the actual cat
2/10. boring
24 Dustox
Tumblr media
I like Dustox a lot. Sure it's an early game bug so it's not super useful, but it does look pretty badass.
The green and purple go really nicely together, and I like the little smile it has. makes it look like it's scheming
Also I really like the shiny.
8/10. Mothman does good
25 Palpitoad
Tumblr media
Well we did Tympole, and now we got the ugly evolution.
Like it takes everything I liked about Tympole, and just removed and left an ugly frog.
3/10. Worse Tympole
26 Pawmot
Tumblr media
Alright, this art had a lot of personality and it's cute.
Not honestly a huge fan of Pawmot. It's not bad by any means, but the design never did much for me. The evolution is also so annoying to actually acomplish.
6/10. not bad but not for me
27 Wiglet
Tumblr media
This guy is so stupid.
In the good way of course. Of all things, I didn't expect Diglett to get any new attention after the Aloaln form, but I was wrong.
I used a Wiglett in my Violet playthrough, and it sucked, but it was still really cute
7/10. weird but cute
28 Croagunk
Tumblr media
Honestly, I forgot how much I actually enjoyed gunky boy. One of the cooler Sinnoh lines with the nice colours.
I also love the teal shiny. Also he could pull off Crazy Frog pretty well.
8/10. Let's get gunky
29 Crustle
Tumblr media
He looks so mad at everything.
Grumpy crab using a rock as a shell is certainly a concept, and it works pretty well. It also has another really cool shiny with the lime green accents.
Also I call Dwebble, Dweeble.
8/10. Crab time
30 Exegutor
Tumblr media
I hate spelling this.
I like Alolan Exegutor way kore than the original, but this is the one the generator gave me.
The faces are just a little too weird for me, and the weird palm tree body doesn't help.
4/10. Taking a point away for the spelling.
31 Tapu Bulu
Tumblr media
Way to end on a bang with a legendary.
Unfortunately Tapu Bulu is my least favourite of the Tapu's, but it's not bad.
The body is a super funky shape, which helps it stand out from other Pokemon, and the red compliments the yellow.
I also like the bull imagery with the hoof arms and bell tail
6/10. Not a personal favourite, but alright.
Happy Halloween Y'all!!!

Tried my best to draw my PLA team from memory w no references (except for vespiquen I tried to draw her at like. 3 am so I saw reference images. Rip).
This was my team at the time of beating the game (I think) and fighting volo (definitely). Since I am very lucky, they are all supposed to be shiny. I can show an image of my full team is requested also!
Beware there are some spoilers for pla ahead. I have tagged but also be wary!
Also, please look away if you are expecting quality of any kind…
(Massive space since I’m not sure how to have it break into a read more)
Without further ado:
Tumblr media
I forgot some of the lines on the body as well as the hat and a million other little things… overall I think it looks alright though. This is Baloon :) the drifblim, found as a random spawn
Tumblr media
Mouldy the crobat! I didn’t forget that much at all, but then again I have drawn crobat before. Also a random spawn!
Tumblr media
DeVo the parasect. I forgot the smile and added an edge to the mushroom, but I’m pretty happy with how she came out! I’d just done an outbreak to try and get shiny paras (no luck), and found one as a random spawn on the way home lol.
Tumblr media
I am fully aware that Dustox does not have little skulls on its wings, but I had the idea and thought it looked too cool not to include. Even though, I made plenty of mistakes other than just the pattern on the wings lol. Her name is Umber btw. If you even care. (Random spawn)
Tumblr media
Caesar the rapidash. I only forgot very minor things and I’m not used to drawing horses, so I’d say this came out fairly well! Please ignore the ugly guiding lines going thru his head. Also this used to be the quest ponyta.
Tumblr media
Finally queen bee. Technically I had looked up a reference 12 hours earlier before I decided to do these so not quite raw(?). Somehow still managed to make the claws too small. She was my very first shiny pokemon and I caught her as a random combee at the startish of the game, so I consider her my starter somewhat. She was also the mvp of the Volo battle, being the last one standing against gratina and landing the finishing hit!
That’s all I think. Thankyou for getting this far !!! Please comment whatever you wish, and likes are always liked!

Blair Plays: Legends Arceus (Phase 3)
Tumblr media
Mama, just tackled a man
Seriously what is even happening right now. This game is wild.
Tumblr media
C-c-crafting?
Oh heck yes. I would jump for joy right now. I would honestly jump around Laventon's Office for about five minutes if this game actually had a jump button. Nah, you don't even know. Games like Legends are and always will be a massive timeeater for me and crafting? Is like 70% of the reason why. Most of my Skyrim hours are spent over the Alchemy table. I am a scientist for stuff like this. Does this mean I get to make my own steampunk pokeballs? Because if it does, this is the greatest game ever made.
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the other thing that makes these games take forever for me to complete and enjoy every second of them. The side-quests. I'm a completionist, personally. Not really for any reason other than that I enjoy playing the game, and I know I'll like this kind of thing more than EV training or shiny hunting. The only question is whether or not this game will have more or less sidequests than Xenoblade. Probably less. Or is that an unfair comparison? Either way, I'll keep my eyes out for a wurmple.
Tumblr media
It's a booklet!
It isn’t part of the Arc Phone, but an actual encyclopedia. Thank Arceus! Though that does make me wonder what the purpose of the Arc Phone is. Come to think of it, we should probably keep that hidden if we don’t want these people to start thinking we’re a god. I’ve seen Star Trek Next Generation, I know how this goes.
Tumblr media
I'm definitely stealing that phrase and using it in the future. I have no idea what it's even supposed to mean but it's just so quotable. In other news, I can already tell that I'm going to waste all my time on side-quests, but unless something noteworthy happens, I'll stick to updates on the main story.
Tumblr media
Because if there's one thing Pokemon needed, it's more Dark Souls.
Not kidding, by the way. The dodging mechanie is pretty awesome. In general, I like these mechanics. The reduced number of battles, the increased focus on capturing pokemon. Like, this was something I couldn’t stand about Let’s Go, but this time it kinda works for me? Because it’s a whole new world, with a new adventure with different goals that were introduced from the start. As opposed to being a typical Gym Challenge where the Gym Leaders randomly refuse to let you in until you catch fifty pokemon, like what even was that.
Tumblr media
In other news, you can drown. I have a system, you see. With every new game I play. I always have to do three things. 1) Approach fire and see if it will actually burn me. 2) Attempt to harm NPCs to see if the game will let me, and if there are consequences for it. And 3) The first body of water I find, I have to see if I'm allowed to swim. Turns out, you are! Very, very slowly. For about five seconds. Then you drown.
Tumblr media
I thought it was a joke. But no, he actually names his Wurple whatever silly nickname you suggest. Anyway, we stan Fred the Hero, who is totally not going to evolve into a Dustox or anything. Yeah, I've seen the anime, Legends. I know where this is going. At least this time I can buy that Wurple's branching evolution isn't common knowledge.
Tumblr media
So it looks like the game is replacing the gym challenge with the star system. Works for me. Catching Pokemon is surprisingly addicting. I feel just like a real hunter in the wild, without any of the guilt for actually harming animals. On another note, the Survey Corps outfit is all kinds of badass. I know character customization is a thing in this game, but I may just stick with this outfit for a while. Except for that hat. Oh boy, that hat has to go.
Tumblr media
Don't think I missed that line, game. Means nothing to Sybil, means a whole lot to me. The Diamond Clan, eh? Something tells me that there's going to be a Pearl Clan as well, and that somewhere down the road, I'm going to be asked to choose between them. I was always a Platinum kid growing up, so I don't have much stake in this, but I'm glad to see the plot is picking up!

My first shiny was a Wurmple! My boy evolved into a gorgeous red Dustox~ Shinies make me like the respective Pokémon even more tbh because I still cherish Wurmple and its evos. I get stupid lucky with Shinies tho, in recent memory, I’ve done three consecutive casual games that had a shiny encounter! (Abra in Moon, Hoothoot in Crystal, then Tsareena in Shield)
Please share some shiny luck with me, because this generation my luck has been terrible! Also, I totally agree that the shiny Wurmple line is just great.

saw @ageofzero doing the fave 10 characters thing and wanted to jump in on that, but with a bit of a twist! here’s only 10 of my fave Pokemon ever (because I could choose 30 and it still wouldn’t be enough) and why I love them! (and in no particular order because I can’t rank my favourite babies against one another.....)
//
1. Rattata / Raticate: TOP PERCENT BABIES!!! I have no idea how many Raticate I have raised by this point, but they are a staple in so many of my games. my Dragon slayer baby who basically carried me through my Crystal Nuzlocke? best boy. my girl who incited the first (of many) revenge deaths against Lance? I was so sad to lose her, she would have been great. most recently, I bred myself a Rattata with Flame Wheel to use and he has been the best boy in my Soul Silver playthrough, I just love the Rattata line and their power and fun move pools. ;w;
2. Venipede / Whirlipede / Scolipede: GIANT BUGS!!! I think Scolipede was the first ever Bug type I raised to be like over 6 feet and I just loved that fact about it so much. My boy was a Serious nature and I loved him, he’s the powerhouse on the team who handles things my Emboar can’t. he’s also kinda the reason I mellowed out on my opinions on the Gen 5 Pokemon, because I loved him so much that I had to chill and be like Gen 5 is actually pretty good.
3. Sizzlipede / Centiskorch: I WAS PSYCHED that they added another Bug / Fire type!! my two absolute faves!! together at last!! in an actually useful BEAST that doesn’t evolve at level 50!! ;w; I cherished my Centiskorch, caught him early on enough in my Shield playthrough to use him the whole journey and named him Sizzler. a good dragon bacon...... =w=
4. Growlithe / Arcanine: BEST. BOYS!!!! I have always loved Growlithe thanks to that one episode where they find out James’ origin story and he has a baby Growlithe waiting for him at home. it was also the very first shiny I ever caught / owned! ;w; and I literally never evolved it. (neat trivia: Growlithe can be taught Dragonbreath in Gen 2!) if there is a Growlithe in the game, it will take ALL of my willpower to not add one to my team and raise it for the millionth time, I just love them so much.......
5. Cyndaquil / Quilava / Typhlosion: so, uh. I love pretty much every Fire starter (and every Gen 2 starter, though it took a while with Totodile), but I have always done every first playthrough of a new Pokemon game using the Fire starter. and Cyndaquil was the start of that (since I technically owned Yellow before having the chance to play Red). I never give my Typhlosion an interesting or good moveset, but I love them always and they pull through for me each time. I literally was convinced as a kid that Typhlosion was all I needed to beat the game XD
6. Dustox / Beautifly: fun fact! for a long time, I actually preferred Beautifly over Dustox because I was a die hard Butterfree kid. (thanks, Ash.) but as I experimented with Nuzlockes, I realised that Dustox is actually the perfect solution to the Hoenn region as a whole. High Special Defence and an oddly Physical Attacker stats make great use of its Bug / Poison typing. And it seems like the CPUs are never prepared for what to do against it! Beautifly is also really good I am such a sucker for Bug / Flying types. Both make great answers to Brawly AND stay awesome throughout the whole journey! I love them. ;w;
7. Flareon / Umbreon / Espeon: okay so, basic Eevee choice aside, it always upsets me when people say Flareon is the worst Eeveelution. they’re power houses! sure, they’re physical attackers when Fire types, but that just means teaching them Shadow Ball in Gen 3 (and Body Slam, they can learn that, too)! it means Fire Fang and Bite! owo (I love Bite moves oop) Umbreon and Espeon are always a pair to me because of Colosseum, which is also why I’m so fond of them. simple as that.
8. Larvitar / Pupitar / Tyranitar: heyy, an actually powerful Pokemon made it onto this list! who’d have thought! anyway, I just love the designs of the whole Larvitar line. also, as a kid I owned a (holographic) Tyranitar Pokemon card that I freakin cherished, so my love for Tyranitar is kinda nostalgic haha.
9. Scyther / Scizor: BLADE BUG!!! Love me that blade Bug. never actually raised one until recently, but I have always loved Scyther (and Yanma, too) and Scizor because they looked so cool. having used one now, I can definitively say that they are awesome and my girl carried me through the E4 when my Raticate got unceremoniously KOd. (and I really miss moves like X-Scissor in Gen 2.....)
10. Zubat / Crobat: so everyone jokes about Zubat being annoying, but they’re probably the most underrated Pokemon ever. because Crobat is AWESOME. and the games often give you a Zubat early on enough that you’ll get a Crobat within the first 2~4 levels of having a Golbat! now I went through Fire Red with a Golbat trying to evolve into a Crobat for the whole. Game. XD and it was not fun, fuck the ‘dex in Fire Red. but man, Zubat line so good, I love raising them every time.
//
like I said, this is far from a complete list since I just love Pokemon (like you can add any of the Dog or Cat Pokemon here as well as any of the Normal first area Pokemon, I love all of them, and Gyarados! Pyroar! Galvantula!!), but here’s a good reason why I can’t wrap my head around competitive play. also showing off my Gen 2 bias.
also gonna tag @versegm and @mermaiddis because why not. tell me your faves, Pokemon or characters! (and if you read this and wanna do this, too, then go for it I ain’t gonna stop you.)

I know you’ve talked about wurmple, but what about your thoughts about the rest of its evo line (and settle the eternal debate: beautifly or dustox 😤😤)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not gonna lie, I never really got the point of Cascoon and Silcoon. Like, why do they look so similar? If the idea was that you still don't know what final evo you're getting... well, no, because these are still two separate Pokemon with two separate names and differences in eyes, colors, etc. But if they're supposed to be separate, then why do they look so similar?
I point this out because Silcoon was one of only four Pokemon to not get any votes during a popularity poll, but Cascoon did. There's just no point in having two designs that are technically separate when you could just have one evolution at this stage that doesn't split until it evolves, you know?
And if you want them separate that badly, why not give them different designs? Butterflies make chrysalises while moths spin silk cocoons to pupate in; leave Cascoon as-is and make Silcoon more like Metapod or something so the two feel more unique.
Tumblr media
(Also, I mentioned this in the Wurmple review, but I'll mention it again here: it's really crappy to not be able to influence what Wurmple evolves into, especially if you have something rare like a shiny. Having it evolve into Cascoon at night and Silcoon during the day would make logical sense and would be much preferred).
Anyway, with all that said, the designs of these two are fine for what they are, if not a little bland. I like the eyes poking out, which adds personality. Between the two, I'd say I like Cascoon more; the eye shape looks better and having a bit of color is nice.
However, I do have to say that the tendrils coming out of them are supposed to be anchors connection to tree branches and whatnot, so in most of the games and other media they're just?? dumplings??
Tumblr media
Give them some weird tentacle appendages they can manipulate, cowards.
Tumblr media
I'm probably not settling any debates on Dustox/Beautifly because neither are really my favorite moth/butterfly Pokemon (that honor goes to Volcarona and Vivillion). But with that said, Dustox is the more fun of the two. Beautifly is well-designed, but it's a fairly standard butterfly, all things considered. Dustox's funky face and stylized body and wings are much more unique. Plus the purple and green make for a good poison-type combo, complete with false eyespots.
However, there are a few things I don't quite jive with. The way the mouth connects directly to the eyes is... weird, and the way the body is one entire segment with the face underneath is also awkward (how does it see in front of it when it's flying?). It's got the right idea, but there's just one too many awkward things going on with it.
Also, this applies to Beautifly as well, but it's always bugged me that these two look nothing alike; the bodies are handled differently, the wings are completely different, the mouths are different, the colors are different... it honestly feels like one of the two (probably Dustox, Beautifly has Wurmple's eyes and underbelly) was a separate line that they just stapled together at one point during production. Just something minor, like them being the same color or sharing the same wing markings, would've made the line much more cohesive.
Tumblr media
Beautifly is probably the most anatomically-accurate butterfly we've gotten (relatively speaking), even having the standard proboscis that IRL butterflies have. Even better, this cute little butterfly drinks blood, which is great and adds a lot of personality to it. I just wish it worked its way into the design a bit more; maybe it has the red rings that Dustox has, but they only flush red after it has drunk blood or something like that.
Tumblr media
However, it's maybe a bit too accurate? Like I was saying with Dustox, there's not a lot that really sticks out about it. The wings are nice, but it's basically just a Pokemon-ified butterfly and there's not much else going on with it. If you look at, say, Butterfree, it at least has a funky mouth that makes it feel a little more monster-y. I definitely don't mind it and the design is perfectly nice, but it ultimately doesn't stick out in my mind as much because of it.
So as a whole, this line is pretty solid. However, I think I would've preferred a single cocoon stage to streamline things, and then have Dustox and Beautifly match each other a bit more (at least in colors and wing patterns, if nothing else) to help with coherency. Also at gamefreak please make it so we can pick our evolutions in the future, please and thank you.

oh boy do i love moths oh so much!! Dustox maybe be a worse pokemon compared to Beautifly statswise, but that won’t stop me from loving them!!! what a interesting design, and it’s blessed with a golden shiny! I just want a big plushie of them to hold~
Aggron
not my favorite │ average │ cute │ adorable │ best │ ultimate fave

Eventually decided to go back into Omega Ruby to try and get a shiny Wurmple, since I never got one in my Shiny Badge Quest in Alpha Sapphire.  Lo’ and behold, I managed to get exactly what I wanted!  Was kind of hoping for a Beautifly, not going to lie, but I’m still happy with the surprise Dustox line I ended up with.  Named him Mothman in the end, because bad memes.

I didn’t draw all my OC’s pokemon, but I did type up a list, so here it is~
1. Daniel and Mimikyu
Nickname: Kyutie
Moves: Baby-Doll Eyes, Shadow Claw, Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam
Daniel found Kyutie trying desperately to hide in a shady alleyway and against his better judgement, he decided to help the poor thing out and gave it a little umbrella so it wouldn’t be stuck. Then Kyutie decided to follow him, and he just kinda let them, not really caring one way or the other. One day, though, Kyutie approached him in a costume made to look like him, and he was so endeared by their sweetness that he couldn’t resist making them his primary contest pokemon.
Kyutie’s a little bit shy and nervous around new people, so they often hide behind Daniel’s leg. But once they get onto the contest stage, their inner confidence comes forth and they usually have no trouble dazzling the audience. They’re not strong, but they are pretty protective and have no issues charging into battle if that what Daniel needs them to do.
2. Daniyal and Celebi
Nickname: Bibi
Moves: Confusion, Future Sight, Leaf Storm, Dream Eater
Daniyal often took trips into the forest whenever he was bored, and he’d often help out whatever little dying plants he saw. This kinda earned him the trust of the Guardian of the Forest, Celebi. When they saw that his village was about to be destroyed, they whisked him off to the future. Not knowing the fate of his home, Daniyal always begs to be taken back, but they refuse. Now they live together on a nice farm, and Bibi helps Daniyal with both plants and the occasional nightmare with their Dream Eater move.
Bibi’s a bit of a rough and tumble type, and they love to participate in battles. Though with Daniyal being a little bit of a pacifist, they’ve taken up other hobbies, such as causing mischief around the farm. Nothing too bad, though, they’ll sometimes just teleport farm pokemon five minutes into the future, or cause plants to grow where they’re not supposed to.
3. Mortar and Mightyena
Nickname: Fang
Moves: Crunch, Snarl, Embargo, Dark Pulse
When Mortar was just a young boy, he started a journey to try and become a Pokemon Master, like kids are wont to do. His first pokemon was a shiny Poochyena that he nicknamed Fang. She was there for him through thick and thin, even when he started turning to evil methods to try and stop the competition. Eventually, he just started up his own Villainous Team whose sole purpose is to stop trainers from becoming Masters by stealing their pokemon. But he treats the pokemon well, at least.
Fang is rather sweet and gentle despite her looks, and after Mortar kidnaps a pokemon, she’s often the one to help calm them down. She also extends this care to Mortar, as much as he insists he doesn’t needs it. But she also demands respect, so sometimes she has to resort to teaching both wily pokemon and goons a thing or two about what she can do.
4. Shian and Dragonite
Nickname: Zunyan
Moves: Wing Attack, Aqua Tail, Dragon Dance, Fly
Zunyan was given to Shian as a small Dratini as soon as she was old enough to walk. Together they were trained to work together to rule Shian’s kingdom and provide shelter for both dragons and dragon-type pokemon alike. Even when Shian took the throne and immediately made plans to declare war on those who’ve wronged dragon-kind, she remained a loyal and trustworthy companion, though she believes in a more pacifistic route to earning the respect of the outside world.
She’s rather distant and cold upon first meeting someone, much like Shian. But where Shian tends to distrust people right off the bat, Zunyan is quiet because she needs time to properly judge someone before deciding to be friends. She’s rather wise and doesn’t like violence, though she will do whatever Shian asks of her.
5. Anthea and Onix
Nickname: Sunshine
Moves: Rock Tomb, Rock Polish, Screech, Sunny Day
While Anthea was out and about one day, she stumbled across a wild Onix and in true Anthea fashion, tried to befriend him. While the Onix wouldn’t have any of it, she kept trying by bringing him berries and whatnot, so he stuck around because of free food. Then when Anthea was blindfolded, she came to him to kinda cry to him, and he found himself unable to resist her friendship any longer and took on a very protective role.
Sunshine absolutely hates most people. Anthea is certainly an exception, and he lowkey gets really tense when anyone comes near her. He makes it his ob to help her out however he can, whether by acting as like a giant seeing-eye snake, or by just hanging out with her whenever she feels lonely. Plus he uses Sunny Day to cheer her up whenever she’s feeling down.
6. Aurel and Hoothoot
Nickname: Bezna
Moves: Sky Attack, Echoed Voice, Roost, Thief
Bezna comes from a line of Noctowls that Aurel breeds to be his loyal nighttime companions, since they aren’t immortal like him. After her ancestor proved to be the best companion Aurel could ask for, especially after he was disowned and trying to survive on his own, he couldn’t turn to any other pokemon. They work together to keep each other safe, and they put a stop to baddies that like to work under the cover of darkness.
She’s a bit young and inexperienced, and sometimes prone to distraction, but she tries her hardest to be useful and live up to her lineage. Sometimes she messes up and feels terrible, but Aurel reassures her that all her ancestors made the very same mistakes, so that lightens the load a bit. Still, she’s very stubborn, and will stop at nothing to be the best.
7. Lucas and Gengar
Nickname: Hellspawn
Moves: Lick, Night Shade, Destiny Bond, Shadow Ball
Hellspawn was the first pokemon that Lucas came across after he fell from God’s Grace, and thus, the first pokemon Lucas caught and trained. Luckily, being a ghost type has kept them by his side for a long while, so their bond is deeper than anything. They happily help him trick people out of their souls, but sometimes get a little too into it and cause lethal accidents. That’s okay, Lucas doesn’t really mind. In fact, he thinks it’s a little bit funny.
They’re definitely a lot like Lucas in that they’re a troublemaker and malevolent, constantly searching people out to curse and whatnot. Though they have a deep respect for Lucas, and won’t do anything that they are explicitly told not to do. But they picked up his habit of being literal, so occasionally they find the perfect loophole.
8. Avery and Dustox
Nickname: Hope
Moves: Moonlight, Toxic, Venoshock, Silver Wind
Avery caught Hope as a Wurmple while trying to go through the evolution line of Beautifly, but instead was met with disappointment when that Wurmple evolved into a Cascoon instead of a Silcoon. They grew super attached to him, though, and kept him by their side. Now Hope is Avery’s greatest friend, and a sign for them that though they might not have exactly what they wanted, there’s always a silver lining in the clouds.
Hope is very friendly, and sometimes gets a little too excited, which causes him to spread his toxic dust and get people sick. Thankfully, Avery has built up a bit of a resistance to it, and keeps some antidote on them just in case. After this happens, Hope tries to hug whoever he poisoned and feels really bad. Honestly, he’s just as prone to crying as Avery is.
9. Shiloh and Flareon
Nickname: Subject 5A (or Alice)
Moves: Ember, Quick Attack, Will-O-Wisp, Last Resort
Alice was caught to be used as one of Shiloh’s experiments with malleable Eevee DNA. It was intended for him to evolve her into an Umbreon, but she managed to escape her cell and find a fire stone he had laying around, using it to evolve into Flareon. With this unfortunate turn of events, Shiloh decided to just make the most of it and train her to help him capture pokemon he needs for his experiments.
She’s very haughty and self-serving, really only motivated to help Shiloh out through bribes of berries and pets. She does hold a little bit of genuine affection for him, though, and will serve as a nice bit of comfort whenever he’s feeling down because of a failed experiment. Though she pretends like she’s only doing it for treats, then.
10. Hadrian and Sableye
Nickname: Sir Jewel the Squire
Moves: Astonish, Feint Attack, Confuse Ray, Mean Look
Hadrian found Sir Jewel while wandering through a cave looking for treasure and a dragon to slay. When he saw that all the gemstones had been eaten, he decided to capture Sir Jewel and make him his squire to repay his debt. At first Sir Jewel used every means possible to try and escape, but he stuck around for the promise of all the gemstones he could eat. So far, that promise hasn’t quite been fulfilled yet.
Sir Jewel is skittish and aggressive, preferring to scare people and pokemon off as opposed to outright fighting them. He’ll often steal Hadrian’s jester cap to hide under when he feels like danger’s around, or cling to his arm like a little monkey. But he can rise to the call of duty when needed, and turns out to be quite a formidable opponent.
11. Solace and Phantup
Nickname: Peace
Moves: Ingrain, Curse, Phantom Force, Return
Solace and Phantup came into existence at around the same time. Since they’ve both experienced death, they kinda can’t really connect with anyone else. So together they go around and try to liberate any poor souls they come across. Solace does it to help people, while Peace does it because maybe, that means he’ll be able to have more friends. He loves Solace, don’t get him wrong, but you know what they say. The more, the merrier.
Peace is a friendly pokemon, eager to meet new people. He’s a little bit misguided, just like Solace, and believes that everyone would be better off dead, though. Unlike Solace, though, he’s not super stubborn, and he’s fairly content to be friends with people who are alive. Though it makes him sad when he remembers that they’ll die eventually.
12. Xania and Zweilous
Nicknames: Nibbler and Toothy
Moves: Bite, Dragon Breath, Work Up, Hidden Power
When Xania heard that where was a pokemon with multiple heads, she knew she had to catch one of her own. It took a long while, but after lots of battling, she managed to catch a Deino and raise it into the lovely Zweilous it is. Now they never leave her side, and they’re accepted as one of her many babies that she absolutely loves with all her heart. Now Xania’s eager to evolve them again to get them a third head.
Nibbler’s the “older sibling”, having been the Deino that evolved, while Toothy’s much younger. They’re both very competitive with each other, and tend to get into biting fights that Xania has to break up. Outside of that, though, they’re generally nice towards people, pokemon, and Xania’s summons, though they don’t know the strength of their own bites.
13. Lumeria and Lunatone
Nickname: Crimson
Moves: Psyshock, Hypnosis, Cosmic Power, Stone Edge
Lumeria came across Crimson and mistakenly believed them to be the incarnation of their people’s Moon God. Wanting to keep them safe, they quickly caught them and tried returning them to the moon, only to find that endeavor fruitless. Now they know the truth, but they still take Crimson as a sign of good luck, and have kept them at their side every since. Plus, they like the intense hue of Crimson’s eyes.
Crimson is very hard to read, but generally is apathetic to most people. However, if they don’t like someone, they will readily try to put them to sleep, which Lumeria always has to stop. They also have a tendency to just stare people down to get a good read on them, which many find a little disturbing. Lumeria takes it as a sign of them liking someone.
14. Ash and Sceptile
Nickname: Leafy
Moves: Absorb, Leaf Blade, Detect, Energy Ball
Ash chose Sceptile as their starter pokemon right before the apocalypse hit their universe. Now in a world where that never happened, both Ash and Leafy have almost no idea what to do with themselves. All the time they spent fighting off demons together has now been replaced by casual, friendly battles, and maybe a second chance to go after the Master title that Ash had stolen away from them so early.
Leafy’s distant from most people, usually seeing any sort of relationship besides the one she shares with Ash as temporary. But occasionally her more light-hearted side will come out, and she’ll play with smaller pokemon and children. She’s also a bit of a glutton, scarfing down any kind of food that comes her way, even if it makes her sick.
And now the Bad Guys that I don’t wanna put too much effort into:
True Star and Rapidash
Nickname: Comet
Moves: Ember, Stomp, Take Down, Inferno
William and Alolan Ninetales
Nickname: Snowcap
Moves: Hail, Blizzard, Payback, Frost Breath
