YOUNG LOVE
genre. fluff. warnings. kissing. a little flirting. food mention (ice cream). pairing. harua x reader. wc. 882. a/n. from this request for lovely @haecien to feed the ever-growing &teamie delusions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Really? You got vanilla?” You asked, raising an eyebrow as your boyfriend walked back with two cones in his hand. Chocolate for you and vanilla for him.
“Come on, it’s not that different than chocolate! You got a basic flavour too!” Harua complained, handing you your cone.
You licked it, smiling at the rich flavour of the dutch chocolate, “At least chocolate is more interesting than vanilla.”
Harua frowned, “Stop the vanilla hate.”
You laughed, “Okay, okay. I’ll forgive my basic boyfriend ‘cause I love him.”
Harua’s cheeks flushed at the comment even though he wanted to argue that he is far from basic. It’s the exact reaction you expected from him and it makes you smile. His cheeks always flush when you tell him you love him. You almost wonder if there’ll be a day when he can still act cool and collected when you say those 3 simple words, but you know it’ll never be any time soon. It’s been months since you first said it to him and he still gets flustered every time.
You’re sure it must be some magic charm that Harua has, because even after years of having a crush on him, and over a year of dating, it feels like you’ve only just fallen for him. You still feel butterflies in your stomach and your heart racing like crazy when he does something. And you still have the same effect on him that you always have. Loving Harua feels like it’ll never get old, like the feeling of young love will last forever.
“What are you thinking about?” Harua asks, breaking you from your trance of licking your ice cream and admiring him as if he was hypnotising you (which he kinda was).
You blinked a couple times to reset before your lips curved up into a big smile, “Well… Now I’m thinking about the ice cream on your lips.” You said smoothly. Harua barely had time to furrow his brows in confusion before he felt your lips on his, softly kissing him, using the little bit of melted vanilla ice cream as an excuse.
“W-what was that for?” He inquired, his own lips tingling from your kiss and lifting a little into a soft smile. He liked your kisses.
“I told you. There was ice cream there.” You repeated.
“If you wanted some of mine, you could’ve just asked.” He informed you sweetly. “I thought you didn’t like vanilla, though…” He added in a mumble as an afterthought.
“It tasted better cause it was on your lips.” You said boldly.
Harua took a breath, “Okay, now you’re trying to flirt with me.”
You giggled, “Is it working?”
“I don’t know. I think I’m in love with you regardless.”
“Cheesy…” You mumbled, cheeks flaring. You hated how he could make you blush so easily from just a single sentence.
“You did it first!” He defended with a laugh, sending both of you into a fit of giggles.
To onlookers, you and Harua were the type of couple that people awed at. You often got compliments that you were lucky to have each other, and you agreed wholeheartedly. You were lucky to have each other. Spending moments with someone you felt so right with was probably the best feeling in the entire world. And the moment Harua came into your life was the start of your happiest memories.
“Ready to go?” You asked happily after finishing the ice cream. You held out your hand for Harua, and he nods before lacing his fingers with yours and giving you a gentle squeeze.
“Where to next?” You questioned, swinging your arm back and forth with Harua’s as you walked down the street away from the ice cream shop.
Harua hummed and then shrugged. You took it that he didn’t really care where you ended up going next, as long as he was with you then he’d be up for anything. So, you just kept walking down the street until Harua stopped abruptly.
“Huh?”
“Kitten.” Harua whispered, eyes wide and staring at the sidewalk in front of him. You halted as well and looked down, eventually spotting the little black and white kitten who was sitting a couple feet away from you.
“He’s got little mittens.” You cooed at the black spots of fur around the paws. Harua walked a bit closer and crouched down a little closer to the kitten. They both peered curiously at the other and you practically felt your heart burst at the sight.
Harua held out his hand patiently and within a few seconds, the kitten was rubbing up against it and purring softly. Harua pouted and looked back at you with shiny eyes.
You laughed, “Are you gonna cry?” He shook his head and sniffed away the tears that were starting to build up. “He’s cuter than you and that’s saying a lot.” You commented, watching your boyfriend pet the cat contentedly.
The moment only lasted another minute before the kitten ran off and Harua stood back up.
“We should do this more often.” Harua said, grabbing your hand again.
“Do what?”
“Be spontaneous. It’s nice to not have a plan… or a destination. I like just being with you, you know?” Harua remarked with a smile.
You hummed in agreement, “It’s nice.”

to be honest, you didn't even know how you got to this point. first, you were playfighting with harua since he took your phone, then you accidentally fell on him, ending up on his lap with your face dangerously close to his. you were never this close to his lips before. you guys had only done little pecks on the cheek and such, always too embarrassed to explore further.
but looking down at his pretty rosy lips, it had you wondering. they were probably so soft, like a cushion inviting you in. "his lips look so kissable," your thoughts slipped out of your mouth before you could stop them. immediately realizing what you said, you sat up suddenly, hiding your face in your hands out of embarrassment.
harua couldn't help but be flustered by your words. trying to cover his blush with his hand, he mustered the courage to respond, "well... i wouldn't mind if you kissed me." his words sent a wave of heat rushing through your face, making you blush even harder.
so now you find yourself on the couch, sitting on harua’s lap. "so... i’ll start, okay?" you say, trying to steady your racing heart. he nods, his eyes filled with anticipation. leaning in, you bring your lips to meet his in a sweet, gentle kiss. cupping his cheeks, you become lost in the moment, while harua instinctively held onto your hips, caressing them in the meantime.
the kiss quickly becomes more heated and passionate. the only sounds filling the room are little grunts coming from both of you and the shifting movements around his lap. harua’s confidence grows as he commands, "open your mouth." you oblige, parting your lips slightly as he inserts his tongue, exploring and savoring your insides as if he hasn't eaten for months.
suddenly, you feel a hand on your ass, causing you to yelp in surprise. despite the interruption, you both continue your makeout, tongues dancing together in an intoxicating rhythm. the heat between you intensifies until you both eventually pull away, a string of saliva connecting your mouths as you try to catch your breath.
"well, um... that was something," you say, letting out a chuckle to break the tension. however, to your surprise, harua remains silent, his face still flushed with red. "are you embarrassed?" you giggle, trying to lighten the mood. that’s when you feel something poking your ass, and it suddenly dawns on you.
"harua!" you scream out his name in embarrassment, realizing what had caused the unexpected reaction. the two of you share an awkward laugh, unsure of how to navigate this new reality that your makeout session has brought about.

KOGA YUDAI : Chest
˚୨୧⋆。˚ one thing about k is that he WILL cum on your chest, doesn’t matter if you’re a man, a woman, or non binary. he WILL cum on your chest. he loves how pretty it looks and definitely takes photos for him to keep on his phone. absolutely adores how you stare up at him after he does so, the thick substance on your chest could make him get hard again in an instant.
“keep looking at me with those pretty eyes again and this chest is gonna filled with more cum.”
MURATA FUMA : Inside
₊˚⊹♡ buff guy here has a breeding kink and you can’t tell me otherwise. he loves the warm feeling of his cum just pouring inside your walls, he’ll even fuck it back inside you if it leaks out. he also loves how full your insides look when he’s done, nothing satisfies him more than the fact he just fucked his babies in you.
“aw princess, i’m sure you can take more of my babies, no?”
WANG YIXIANG : Face
𖦹 ⋆° ✮ hear me out bruh. can you imagine how nicholas would stare down at you as your face is covered in his cum? bye, he just LOVES knowing that he has you wrapped around him like a cute dumb pup, what more can he ask? his pretty groans as he lets strings of his cum squirt onto your face, his thumb taking some of it and pushing it past your lips to make you taste. he’s gonna get hard again.

“so pretty, might have to go another round, hm kitty?”
ASAKURA JO : Mouth
𓏲 ๋࣭  ࣪ ˖ our beloved introvert here, he already loves how well you can take his cock when blowing him but it drives him nuts when he sees your mouth filled with his own semen, you have no idea how much he would give to see you always staring up at him as it drips down your chin after you blow him off. his large thumb gently wiping away the excess or gently shoving it back into your mouth.
“nothing more i’d ask for than for your mouth to be filled.”
SHIGETA HARUA : Inside
₊˚⊹ ᰔ unexpected tbh but harua LOVES cumming inside you. he doesn’t care about cumming elsewhere but in you, he would even beg you sometimes to let him cum inside when his mind is going blank from how much he’s been fucking you absolutely stupid, you leak some of it out? oh he’s gonna push his cock back in and fuck it right back inside.
“nuh-uh.. you can’t let me drip out like that , pretty.”
TAKAYMA RIKI : Back
⋆˚✿˖° YUP TAKI LOVES BACKSHOTS YUP. he’s thrilled when you let him give you backshots, he finds it the most hottest thing on earth, and since he loves fucking you from behind as well, it checks out for him. he would take photos to beat his cock too when he’s in japan or at practice, etc. the look of his cum on your back gives him a boost in ego knowing he has you to himself.
“mm, nobody else is going to ever have you like this, ‘cause you’re mine.”

you came for brownies, not a cute boy behind the register
stranger/barista!harua x fem!reader 0.4k listen to the song!!
▸ 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺?
A sigh leaves harua’s lips as his eyes travel from customer to customer without a care, the back of his fists prompting his chin. Life as a barista is boring when you don’t have any orders to make, the colorful pastries already in their secluded rows after the male finished restocking them. It was until the doorbell chimes when harua’s slouched body straightens, his signature smile and greeting leaving his lips without further thought. “Hello! How can I take your.. order..?” his cheerful attitude turns into an astonished tone, countless blinks leaving his eyes for he has never met anyone so.. beautiful.
It felt like his breath was taken away once he gazed into your eyes, your bonny smile making his heart pound as he gives you a flustered look in return. “Just a simple brownie, please!” your sweet voice called out, silencing the shy boy as he wordlessly nodded in response. Those brief seconds were the perfect time to observe the boy’s side profile, admiring the way his eyes seemed to sparkle as he tapped on his screen to place your order. The way he wetted his lips, the soft pink glistening under the dim lighting. “Gosh, you’re so handsome,” you mumble to yourself in a vacuous tone, before pausing when you notice how the boy’s body stiffens. “I think I just said that out loud, didn’t I?”
“Yeah,” he breathes out with a sheepish grin, scratching the back of his neck to avoid your eyes. “The brownies..” he stops to let out a nervous chuckle, “they’re $6.99. Is that all you’re getting?” you hum in response, fishing through your purse to find the cash. Once harua receives the money, he places it into the cash register before grabbing a small bag to put your brownies in. He halts his movements to scribble something on the plastic, feeling a bit bold as he hands you your good. “Have a nice day,” he smiles, which increases once you return it.
As you turn your heel, you look down at your package with great wonder, finding black handwriting in the place of where your name was supposed to be located. “You’re beautiful,” it wrote, your eyes glancing back to the owner of the message. Harua was already looking at you, his smile reaching his eyes as the tips of his ears go red, butterflies swarming in his stomach.

Tumblr media
KOGA YUDAI (K)
Kei instantly turned his attention from the boiling pot to you when his ears caught on to your sudden yelp of pain, his brief suspicions were only confirmed when his orbs took a glimpse at the red spots at the tip of your index finger. That sight alone had his brain switching back to Japanese mode, enunciating one word—clear enough for you to hear despite the already close proximity. “Baka.”
You narrowed your eyes at him with your mouth protruding in a pout, he acted in a swift speed though, taking the white cloth beside the counter—damping it on your finger.
"You're overreacting, Kei. It's just a cut." You shrugged, and he hissed slightly in response with gritted teeth.
"No, seriously, you're a baka." His lower lips contorted into a protruding pout, "Did no one taught you to put your finger aside when cutting veggies?"
"It's just a minor accident, you see."
"Someone who ain't a baka surely could avoid this, so you're a baka." Kei sighed in response, and you rolled your eyes at him.
“Yes, yes, sure. Baka. If you think I don't know that then you're wrong bruh, ah—!" You yelped in pain when he pressed the cloth a tad bit hard on the cut.
"If you aren't a baka then just stay quiet and let me do it."
MURATA FUMA
"Aishh, (Name)." Fuma's eyebrows knitted together as he let out a long sigh in sort of a motherly way which had you letting out a slight giggle despite the throbbing pain in your finger. "SP. SP. SP coming."
"Please you're very into your roleplay as SP." Fuma took your words personally with a slight pout on his lips.
"Of course I do? If I am not here, then who's going to help you with this?" another sighed left Fuma's mouth as turned his head over his shoulder, muttering. "Just let Kei do the work."
"No way! I wanna help with the dinner for the boys y'know.."
Fuma smiled at you tenderly, using his other hand to caressed your cheek. "I'm sure the boys appreciate it, you already did so much so just let us do the dinner for now. Plus Kei wouldn't mind, you know he's competitive as if it's life and death for him so dinner would be served in a blink of an eye."
You bursted into laughter at his words, your heart swelling in serenity at the way his rough yet comforting palms hold yours in it.
"I'll get the band-aid, okay?"
NICHOLAS WANG
"If you don't know how to cut vegetables then say so." Nicholas narrows his eyes at you with utter disbelief, tossing the handkerchief at your arms.
"Of course I know how to? It's the damn vegetable's fault, look at its shape!" You lapped the material at your cut, hissing at the contact.
"Blaming the veggies, eh?" Nicholas rolled his eyes as he went to the sink, turning the tap on as he washes his hands at somewhat an uneasy speed. With knitted eyebrows as you observed him swaying his hands frantically in attempts to get rid of the excess water beads. "You can't even properly damp it on your finger, damn."
"Stop being a bully." You scoffed as he took the cloth from your right hand, opting to do it himself as he takes your left hand in his palms.
"Bullying? This is bullying to you?" Nicholas shakes his head in a series of laughter, "Idiot."
"Say that again."
"I said you're an idiot, y'know."
"Bruh, I'll kill you.”
BYUN EUIJOO
He didn’t say anything out of consideration for your feelings, pulling you out from the kitchen and having you seated down nice and well on the couch while he left for a minute to get the emergency kit which apparently had your eyes ogling out and protesting like a malfunctioned robot.
“Euijoo, you’re overreacting.”
The boy didn’t reply however, his concerned orbs wholly fixated on the bleeding cut on your finger; wiping off the dripping blood, applying the medicine and finishing it off by wrapping the adorable band-aid on the cut. Pressing it firm and tender as to avoid any yelps of pain to leave your mouth,
“No, nope, I suggest you just sit here while I do the rest.” said Euijoo, in which you obviously protested but he shook his head with lips arched up—showcasing his dashing smile that made you swoon over him for how many times already.
“Please, it’s just a minor cut—”
“Shh.” your sentences were interrupted by his index finger touching your lips, hushing you to listen to him.
“I might as well feed you later—”
“Stop!”
NAKAKITA YUMA
"W-what’s wrong? (Name)?”
Your yelp of pain had his humming interrupted as he turned to look at you. Yuma’s orbs widened as he saw your current state; pressing the cut on your finger with your other hand to soothe the throbbing pain. “A-are you okay?!”
“My soup–!” His finger turned off the stove with ease, immediately attending to your minor injury with his orbs glistening with so much concern.
Taking your hands in his warm ones, he blew a continuous puff of air to your finger all while asking questions over how you could be this clumsy, adding another following question if it throbs that much.
You pouted the entire time, observing the way his loose strands covered his fixated eyes on your finger. “This is just normal, Yuma.”
“No way, we have to get you to the hospital, I think.”
You let out a fit of laughter. "Gosh, Yuma. Seriously?"
ASAKURA JO
Jo was beside you, scooping a spoonful of rice into his bowl when you lifted your head to look at him—the sight alone had a slight giggle squeezing it’s way out of your mouth over how he insisted to eat rice before dinner, as if it was his early snacks. Yet your giggles were short-lived due to your clumsiness, and the soft pink hues on Jo’s cheeks faded as it was replaced with his mouth dropping in shock.
“(Name), you should be careful!”
Your hands met the oozing warmth on his palms, reminding you of the heat from the bowl of rice. You brushes it off with as a minor cut, yet your mouth proceeded to betray you by squeezing out a yelp of pain—causing the tall boy’s features to contort in disbelief and concern.
“Minor?” Jo shook his head with his eyebrows knitted together, narrowing his eyes at you which had you letting out an awkward laugh.
“It’s okay, Jo. Just smack a band-aid and we’re all good.”
“Not good, not good.” He repeated, pulling you out from the kitchen with his hands around your wrist. “This is not good.”
SHIGETA HARUA
“What’s wrong?”
A series of ‘tch’ emitted from Harua when he took a brief glance at you which causes your cheeks to burned in embarrassment. As usual, his calm and composed demeanour remain as he place the lid back on the pot. Approaching you with countless sigh as if he was your mother.
“It’s just a small cut, but you act as if you got hit by a truck.” He shrugged as he inspected the cut on your finger, wiping the traces of blood with his thumb. You couldn’t believe how he softly voiced out such words.
“That’s very mean.” Your eyebrows knitted in a deep frown at his words. “If you’re not going to help—”
“Of course? Who said I would help you?” Your jaw dropped to the ground as Harua raised his eyebrow, letting go of your hand. "I don't like touching people. Plus—"
“Shigeta Harua, you—”
“If you aren’t going to be useful, might as well just go and play with Maki or something.” Harua shrugs before going back to check the boiling pot, that alone had you pouting immensely—pulling off your apron before stepping out of the kitchen.
“I had a band-aid box in my room, go check it.” Your feet halted instantly, turning to look at the boy who still had his eyes wholly fixated on the pot—stirring the soup with the ladle in his grasp.
TAKI
Dolphin scream, that’s it. A glimpse to your bleeding cut had him emitting his signature dolphin scream and you sighed at how he was overreacting and especially in such a quick reflex that it baffles you how everything moves in a rapid speed as right now you were already on the couch, with the pillow on both your sides and your head laying comfortably as Taki was sitting on the floor as he wrapped the band-aid on your finger all while muttering how you are so clumsy.
Sighing at him, “Taki, I’m not a baby.”
“Right now you are, so please stay quiet.”
“But the food!” you protested.
“That ain’t the priority right now, so kindly shut up. Also, do you think you even had the right after committing—” His fluffy strands lifted up slightly to reveal his narrowed eyes at you, “Such a very clumsy mistake.”
“You speak as if I committed a crime, dude. Did you even turn off the stove, though?”
“Yes you did— Wait.. Shit!—” Another quick reflex with him pushing himself up, sprinting to the kitchen before stopping mid-way, pointing his fingers at you. “Don’t you dare stand! Sit! I’ll be back!”
HIROTA RIKI (MAKI)
“That’s really clumsy.” Maki has no intention to filter his words whatsoever as he approached you from the living room all while munching on chips, with his cheeks protruding in and out.
“You know with that bag of chips on your hand, you could’ve get the band-aid—” He didn’t waste any second in pulling you out of the kitchen, with his other hand pinching your sleeves as he did so.
“Where are you—”
“To get the band-aid, what else?” Maki kept on chewing his chips, emitting a cracking sound as he leads you to the living room. He places the bag of chips on the side of the table, pulling the band-aid out of the box with a few mutters here and there such as you're already an adult, and you still manage to do such a rookie mistake.
"As the youngest, you talk too much."
"As the oldest, you talk too much too."
You hissed in response, which shortly rose in volume when he puts the band aid on your finger. Brushing the cute band-aid, you muttered a small thank you.
"Done!" Maki puts on a big grin as he munches on another chips, "Next time, don't be a clumsy adult. But anyways, it doesn't matter since I could put another band-aid on your finger."

in which, fine, harua will be your snow angel ୨୧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
wc. 435
you’ve always thought the snow was beautiful. the clouds of soft white powder covering away the sharp edges of the world, the way it falls gently onto the ground like the sky is kissing the earth.
but right now, you think, the snow has never looked so beautiful. harua grins, pure joy spreading across his face, the sleeves of his puffer jacket pushing through the pile of it that’s built up, clearing wings into the cover. the cold dusts his nose in pink, accenting his face ethereally and he looks into your eyes, holding your gaze simply by connecting with it.
he laughs, a pretty, blissful, sound that echoes right into your heart, and you can’t help the smile that forms at your mouth as you roll onto your stomach to admire him.
“hey, why’d you stop?” he pouts.
“what?”
“we were supposed to be making snow angels together, but now s’only me.” he explains, the edges of his smile tipping down, and you frown.
“no, keep smiling!”
he breaths out a confused laugh, and his mouth turns up again, “what?”
“there.” you sigh, content falling through your tone.
he shakes his head at you, you’re so weird sometimes, but you only grin in response.
“so?” he prods, and your eyebrows raise.
“what?”
“together,” he reminds you, and you laugh, rolling over into him.
“nooo,” he groans, “not here,”
“what? but, i wanna make my snow angel next to your’s, together,” your shoulders pull down slightly in disappointment.
“i know, but you’re ruining your old one,” he points a puffy glove and your heart melts.
“ok, i’m sorry, i’ll go back,” you push your hands into the snow to stand up, but an arm catches you onto a jacket.
“it’s too late, s’already ruined because you rolled over.” harua’s voice comes from above you. “you can make your snow angel next to mine, if you want.” he offers.
“it’s so soft here, though, i don’t want to get up.” your arms tighten around his waist in the sleeves of your jacket.
“but-” he starts, except you interrupt him, nose digging into the outside of his jacket.
“you can be my snow angel.”
he sighs in exasperation at your cringiness, it’s hard to be your snow angel sometimes, and you only hug him tighter.
your chin turns up to rest on him as you watch him drag his arms up through the snow, eyebrows raised. when his gaze grasps yours, the edges of a smile pull onto his face, and he breaks into a laugh.
you love the snow, but it looks infinitely better with him.

symptoms of love 𐀔 shigeta harua
genre : fluff ⋆ warnings : kissing ⋆ word count : 1k
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ୨ ✩ ୧
is it love? the tingling in your fingertips every time he brushes against your skin, the smile that grows on your face when he suddenly appears in the same room as you, and the way he occupies your thoughts every second of the day, is it love? you don't know exactly how you feel, or what all those emotions represent, but you are surely sure your heart has something special for him. why else would it beat so quickly every time the brown-haired boy shows up at your house or when you receive a text from him?
you've only recently started asking yourself these kinds of questions about harua, since that famous halloween party and that stupid game your friends like to play. they call it the bottle game : the bottle spins on itself until it points at two different people, who must kiss immediately. and if they refuse, they have to do a dare given by the game master.
and of course, the bottle stopped first on you, then on harua.
he immediately asked your opinion, telling you that for his part, he didn't care. and so as not to be seen as a coward, you agreed to do it. it was a shy kiss, almost too quick, like the touch of a cloud. you still remember the sweet taste of his lips, probably due to the many sweets you had consumed throughout the evening. but what impressed you most was the warmth of his hands against your cheeks, the beauty of his hazelnut eyes under the moonlight, and the way his lips intertwined perfectly with yours. these three things never left your thoughts.
a week or so had passed since then, and harua seemed to have got on with his life, while you shivered every time he seemed a little too close to you. like now, sitting on your living room floor, your revision books scattered on the coffee table accompanied by two long-forgotten glasses of soda. he looked concentrated, writing in his notebook without looking up, while you watched him intently, your chin tucked in the palm of your hand and your dream-filled eyes scrutinizing every detail of his face.
you began to imagine a lot of scenarios about what your relationship could become : maybe this innocent little physical connection will take your friendship to the next level? generally, what you feel now for him, is what's described in the romance books, right? the butterflies in your stomach, the desire to hold him close to you, the admiration in your eyes every time you look at him.. these are symptoms of love, aren't they?
you continued to question yourself, far too lost in thought to notice that the boy was now looking in your direction without saying a word. his eyes darted from right to left, trying to find the slightest clue as to what was going on in your little head at the moment. but you seemed too far away.
so he put his pencil down on his notebook, moving gently to get closer to you, his face now inches from yours. and suddenly, his hands were on your cheeks, bringing you out of your reverie without any sudden gestures from you. your eyes locked with his, silently questioning him, trying not to panic — but your heart, racing in your chest, had a different definition of the term “ don't panic ”.
under the craziness of the moment, you closed your eyes tightly, ready to feel his lips collide with yours once again. an amused smile spread across his face, the young boy finding your behavior adorable. then came the moment you'd been waiting for, the moment when you felt that warmth and sweet taste on your mouth again. it was like the first time, but only better. because there were no curious eyes around, no annoying noises from your friends in your ears — just you, and harua, both alone in your living room with only your hearts beating in unison to witness this moment.
not knowing what to do with your hands, you remained stoic, until he decided to move away from you. your hands clasped his wrists, your glassy eyes lost in his, and in an almost pleading but equally light voice, you gently squeezed his arms between your unconfident fingers, « can we do that again? my eyes were closed. »
« oh my god. » he replied, letting his hands leave your cheeks to fall on your thighs, a laugh escaping from his rosy lips. you blinked, feeling an ounce of shyness come over you — but harua quickly made it disappear, bringing his adorable face close to yours again, his gaze penetrating your soul. the tip of his nose brushed yours, while his fingers intertwined with yours in a delicate way, his thumbs moving mechanically to caress your skin. « close your eyes y/n, trust me. » he whispered, his breath tickling your lips, and without thinking, you did as he asked, not without giving his hands a gentle squeeze.
in the second that followed, you felt him take possession of your lips again, but something was different. it was more confident, less shy, and your stomach lurched as you felt the pressure of harua's lips against yours grow stronger. it was a real kiss, a real one like in the teen movies you'd watched over and over, dreaming of the moment when it would finally happen to you. and you couldn't have hoped for anything better than to live this moment with harua.
what you were feeling felt strangely like a first love, if we are to believe your distraught little heart. tilting your face slightly to the side, you initiated the deepening of your kiss, feeling him receptive to your initiation, the kiss becomes soft and sparkling, although deeper, until you forget to breathe. seconds after, he moved away a few millimetres, catching his breath and finally opening his eyes to look at you and your adorable face that drove him crazy. then, feeling a persistent gaze on you, you copied his movements to plunge your gaze into harua's.
« i haven't stopped thinking about you, » he finally declared, letting go of one of your hands to tuck a lock of hair behind your ear, « since the halloween party, my heart has been crying out for you. »
how could you control those damn butterflies when he slipped such pretty words into your ear? harua knew how to melt your heart, even if it was innocent and involuntary. then a small smile crept across your mouth as you leaned in to place a peck on his lips, making his cheekbones slightly rosy. « am i falling in love with you? » you asked, your gaze fixed on his, and his heart melted in his chest at your beautifully spoken words.
wrapping his arms around your waist, harua pulled you against him, placing a warm kiss against your cheek. « i hope so, » he admitted softly, running his fingers along your spine, « because i'm falling in love with you. »
reblogs & feedbacks are highly appreciated !

comfort :: shigeta harua

pairing :: nonidol! shigeta harua x gn! reader
genre :: established relationship, fluff, comfort (as the title suggests..)
warnings :: description of nightmare
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
it was moments like this when you wished you had accepted harua's offer to stay up a little later tonight. maybe if you had stayed up later, you could have avoided the same nightmare that had been disturbing you a few days in a row.
when you woke up, your face was covered in sweat, your shirt and hair were disheveled and you were shaking. your chest would rise up and down as you breathed heavily, it felt impossible to breathe at the moment. your eyes scanned around the room, they were hazy and it was dark so you couldn't make out anything. you thought you hadn't woken up from your nightmare.
your hands gripped the sheets as you pulled your knees close to your chest. by then, all the movement had woken harua up. he opened the lamp that was on your nightstand and let his tired eyes adjust to the light before turning to you. seeing you like that, shaking with dried tear stains on your cheeks, broke his heart. he had never seen you like this before, so he instantly spoke.
"what's wrong yn? did you have a nightmare?" his voice was sweet, he wanted you to tell him what was wrong, without making you feel too pressured to do so at the same time. he hesitantly placed a hand on your knee, not knowing how you would react to his touch in the state you were in.
you opened your mouth to speak, but it was dry and no words came out. you just resorted to nodding. you felt cold and scared. you wanted him to hug you so you could feel better again. you had had the same nightmare for days now, yet something different had happened this time which shook you to your core.
harua was about to get up and get you a glass of water, but you stopped him by grabbing his hand. "please don't leave me, not right now..." your voice came to a weak mumble to his ears, but he still could make out every word you said. he complied quickly, seeing how lost you were. he sat back down and placed a hand on your waist, pulling you closer to him.
with your head resting on his chest, you could feel his heartbeat. it was calming. the two of you stood in silence for what felt like a few minutes before harua spoke up again. "do you want to talk about it?" you knew he was asking about the dream, you hoped he wouldn't. you wanted to stay in the same silence as before, you hadn't talked about the nightmare to anyone, not wanting to show a vulnerable side of yourself. but you were already a mess when harua had woken up so maybe it wouldn't hurt to tell him now.
"well... it's not the first time i've had this nightmare." you started, memories of previous nights flooding your brain. you shivered before continuing to speak. "i'm in this small empty dark room. sometimes it feels like the walls are shrinking. i can hardly breathe and it's very warm in there."
he listened to you attentively, although he was half asleep, and you knew this because every time you looked up from your hands, you noticed his soft gaze fell on you. he gently rubbed the side of your waist to ease the anxiety you still felt. it was nice, being close to him while confessing a fear of yours. it felt like you could describe the craziest things you'd seen in your dreams and he'd still listen and comfort you.
"usually, the door of the room is locked, but this time it was open so i ran before the monster came. then it chased after me. it was faster. i turned my head back once and i felt like throwing up when i saw it." you didn't go into detail on the monster's appearance, not wanting to remember its face. you shivered again.
"is there something bothering you in real life? maybe you're projecting it in your dreams." harua suggested, he wasn't an expert or anything, and he rarely had nightmares but when he did it was bothersome problems in his real life that had taken different forms of monsters and such.
you pondered on the question a bit. it was true, you had been very stressed lately and you hadn't had any time to relax. this was the first time in weeks you had planned something with harua, finally getting to spend some time together as a couple. so maybe it was the horrible stress you were feeling lately and the fact that you had no time to take care of yourself that had made you have these nightmares. that sounded about right. you told harua this. he listened and nodded before speaking.
"i'm sorry for not being there for you sooner. if i had known you were feeling bad i could have done something." you looked into his eyes, he genuinely felt sad as his tone expressed. you wondered what he would have done to make you feel better throughout the previous days, he would have probably taken you on cute dates and always held you close to him. you regretted not telling him sooner, maybe things wouldn't have gone this far. nevertheless, you didn't blame him.
"you shouldn't feel sorry, it's my fault for not saying anything in the first place. you being here with me right now is enough." harua still felt bad. you were his partner, he should have been able to tell if you weren't feeling well without you needing to word it. your last sentence reassured him that he was at least doing a good job comforting you right now.
"i knew something bad was going to happen to me. i wanted to wake up but i couldn't, you know? and then the monster grabbed my leg and started pulling me to it. and then... it started choking me. i couldn't breathe. i couldn't see anything. i was so scared. i think i was crying in my dream too." you continued, with a quickened heartbeat and teary eyes. he pulled you into a tight hug. he didn't want to let you go, and you didn't want him to either.
you stayed like that for minutes. his warmth made you feel at ease. he gently pat your head as you felt tears stain your cheeks and his shirt. harua didn't really care. he hated seeing you cry but if you needed to let it all out, he wasn't going to stop you. silence filled the room again, this time for longer. times like this made you thankful that harua was by your side. he was able to calm you down just by his presence alone. you stopped crying and the two of you, seeing that you didn't want to be ceparated from him at any moment, walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
it was very late, harua knew you weren't going to sleep anytime soon though. instead he offered you talked some more while listening to music. you agreed without a second thought, wanting to distract yourself from what had just happened. the two of you got comfortable in bed, cuddling, while talking. he continued to brush his fingers through your hair while you rested on his chest. your conversations were short, while soft music played in the background.
eventually, you fell asleep before him. a small smile made its way on harua's face after finally seeing you so peaceful. he placed a gentle kiss on your forehead and another on your nose. he stopped the music and closed the light.
"goodnight yn, sleep well."

i’ll cheer for you from afar / harua x reader x taki
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: harua x f! reader x taki
genre: (hopefully) angst (enough), pinch of fluff, high school! au, photographer! harua (and taki)
warning: a very poor attempt of writing angst </3 (this is my first time writing angst), heart break, love triangle, probably grammar error, idk what else actually…
wc: 5.5k
summary: while working on his last project in the photography club, harua feels unsure about the theme he's picked. he worries that whatever he chooses might affect your friendship. but deep down, he wonders if he can push away his feelings for you and move on.
i made a pinterest board for this fic hehe
anyway, enjoy, i hope you’ll like it :]
Tumblr media
Becoming members of the photography club in their last year of school meant Harua and Taki had to prepare for the winter exhibition, a big event before their graduation. Choosing a theme for his final project was hard for Harua. He had an idea but felt scared to use it.
Unlike Harua, Taki had a clear plan for the exhibition. That afternoon, the three of you gathered in the school's backyard. Taki wanted to make a short film for the exhibition and aimed his camera at you, asking you to be in his film.
"Say something about yourself," Taki directed.
"I never agreed to become a model, you know!”
"If not you, then who else?" teased Taki. After a bit of back-and-forth, you eventually agreed to calmly stand in front of the camera. Taki began asking simple questions, usual for introductory videos. Then, unexpectedly, he asked a personal question.
"Do you have a crush on someone?”
Your silence made Harua curious, but he tried not to show it.
"Come on, y/n, do you have a crush on someone?" Taki teased again. You hesitated before finally saying softly, "Yes, I do.”
Taki grinned. "Can you tell us who it is?"
“That's none of your business, you fool," you replied, playfully covering his camera lens with your hand.
Harua was stunned by your answer. Watching you and Taki laughing together, he knew he had to give up his original exhibition idea. He didn't want his theme choice to ruin their friendship.
---
In his first year of school, Harua met you. Joining the photography club was a great decision for him, even though he was still figuring out his new camera. Harua was on the school's rooftop, trying to capture the beautiful sky. While aiming his camera, he saw you in the distance, looking thoughtful. His heart raced, so he quietly took a picture of you.
His friend, Taki, interrupted this moment, surprised to see Harua taking a portrait, something Harua usually avoided. Taki's voice got your attention, and that's how the three of you started being friends.
It all began with a strong friendship, but over time, the dynamics among them slowly began to shift. Harua always preferred taking photos of landscapes rather than portraits. He believed that his landscape shots show his feelings better and match his style. But that doesn't mean he stops taking your pictures.
Even when he doesn't realize it, he often finds his camera pointing at you. Whether you're focused during practice, smiling during your marching band performances, or when you’re spacing out, his camera always seems to capture you. But what he likes the most is when you playfully try to get into his photos, maybe to ‘ruin’ to his scenic shots. Every time your mischievous smile appears in the corner of the photo, Harua can't help but smile too.
He thinks all your pictures, whether they're planned or spontaneous, turn out beautiful. When he takes your picture, he feels a lot of emotions that make him pause for a moment. He doesn't exactly know why he feels this way, but he likes it. Maybe... he actually knows what it means, but he doesn't want to admit it. Especially after noticing that Taki is starting to act differently around you.
Harua knew Taki was someone who loved to joke around, which made him quickly grow closer to you. However, by the second year, Harua began to notice a change in Taki's attitude towards you. Taki became more caring and gentle, despite all his jokes.
Harua noticed something different about Taki. He saw that Taki often smiled to himself after sharing jokes with you. It was a special kind of smile, showing how happy he was to make you laugh. It seemed like a secret happiness just for him.
Harua also noticed Taki's caring side. When there was a competition or show coming up, and you got busy, Taki made sure you took care of yourself. He brought you vitamins every day to keep you from getting tired or sick easily. He made sure you never missed your meals and always got enough rest. It was like he was your personal health guardian, and everyone could see how much he cared.
The biggest sign for Harua was when he saw how Taki comforted you. One time, you were really upset because you didn't get chosen as the flute section leader for the marching band – a dream you worked hard for. Even though you tried to hide your sadness, both Taki and Harua could tell. Taki quickly comforted you. He hugged you while you cried, letting your tears dampen his uniform. At the same time, he gently stroked your head to make you feel better. He didn't let go until you had completely calmed down and could smile again. Right then, Harua realized, even though no one said it directly, that Taki had feelings for you too.
Since then, Harua started being extra careful about how he acts around you and Taki. He tried hard to hide his true feelings from you because he didn't want to mess up the good friendship between the three of you. But sometimes, he too wonders, for how much longer can he hide his feelings for you? Even though he truly wanted to be there for Taki and support his feelings for you, Harua couldn't ignore the little pain in his heart when he saw you and Taki together. It was tough for Harua, trying to be a good friend while dealing with his own feelings that he never talked about.
---
Seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom, Harua wanted to capture them for his photo exhibition. After classes, he went to the nearby park and got lost in taking pictures of the beautiful flowers. His focus broke when he heard someone call his name.
"Harua!" The voice surprised him, and he turned to see you approaching. "Why are you alone?"
"Taki is still in the club room. He wanted to stay a bit longer," Harua explained.
You nodded, looking at the gently falling cherry blossoms. "They're so pretty, right?" You took off your school jacket and put it on the grass, inviting Harua to join you. "Come on, let's watch the cherry blossoms together."
Harua smiled, thinking it was time for a break since he had taken many photos. He sat next to you, enjoying the cherry blossom petals falling from the trees, making a beautiful scene. He peeked at you while you closed your eyes peacefully. Then, he took off his jacket and gently placed it over you. A single petal landed on your cheek, and he leaned in to brush it away without waking you.
At that moment, as his fingers touched your cheek, you opened your eyes, surprised by the unexpected touch. A silent understanding passed between your looks, creating a mix of emotions in Harua. A warm feeling grew in his chest, and his cheeks turned a bit red.
Suddenly, Harua leaned in, showing a desire to be closer but also feeling a bit unsure. His quick movement caught you off guard, making you curious but a little nervous too. A part of him wants to leaned more closer to you, but seeing your discomfort, Harua stopped himself. Instead, he pulled back and playfully flicked your forehead, turning the serious moment into a fun one. It was like taking a step back, trying to keep things light and friendly, even though he had deeper feelings inside.
"Ouch," you whined, rubbing where he playfully flicked your forehead, "that flick wasn't needed, you know."
He chuckled softly, a warm and friendly sound that made any awkward feelings go away. "Sorry," he said, his laughter making things light and comfortable.
Harua sat next to you, feeling a mix of emotions—relief but also a bit sorry for hesitating earlier. He realized he had avoided a situation that could have made things complicated between you two. Looking at you again, he liked seeing the calm and peaceful look on your face. "Don't get too carried away," he silently reminded himself, understanding the delicate balance between their playful friendship and the deeper feelings he had inside.
---
It’s a slow evening, Harua and Taki sat on a bench, watching the busy field with lots of after-school activities. Even though they didn't say it out loud, everyone knew they were there to see you practicing with the marching band.
During a break, you started goofing around, playing with the flag as if you were part of the color guard. As you swung the flag, revealing an unexpected skill, both Harua and Taki couldn't help but smile. Encouraged by your newfound confidence, you decided to throw the flag, only to toss it too high, leading to a struggle to catch it. Instead of a graceful catch, the flag ended up hitting your head quite hard, prompting a loud yelp from you.
"That fool," Taki couldn't help but chuckle at the amusing scene, and Harua joined in, unable to contain his laughter.
"But that's why I like her a lot," Taki smiled to himself, his eyes filled with genuine fondness for you.
Harua turned his head, fixing a thoughtful gaze on Taki.
Taki met his gaze and asked, "Did I say that too loud?"
Harua faked a laugh, teasing, "Well, I don't have a sixth sense to read your mind," adding a playful tone to his words.
Taki looked a bit embarrassed and playfully pushed Harua. "Well, it's true anyway!" he mumbled shyly before running towards you. With a gentle touch, he caressed your head where the pole had hit. Harua observed the two of you silently from a distance, , feeling a mix of emotions. Taki's words made it clear that he had feelings for you. While it wasn't a big surprise, Harua felt a bit sad hearing Taki openly confessing his affection for you.
---
Before summer break, the three of you found yourselves lounging in the cozy corners of the school library, getting ready to work on assignments together. Even though you were in different classes, you liked teaming up for homework. It was an attempt to make sure they didn't get too lost in their photography club world.
"Any plans this summer?" Taki asked.
You responded with a casual shrug, "Not entirely sure yet, probably filled with studying for the university entrance tests or band practice maybe."
"That's boring," Taki exclaimed, his playful disdain evident. Turning to Harua, he asked, "How about you, Harua?"
"I want to go photo hunting in the next town, maybe at the beach too," answered Harua with a glint of enthusiasm, "You know, summer = beach."
Taki's eyes lit up, "to think of it, this is our last summer together. Wouldn't it be better if we spent it together?" Taki suggested, "we've never gone on a trip together before.”
Your brow furrowed with a mix of surprise and concern at the realization that high school was nearing its end. "Don't say it's ‘our the last summer’, it’s not like our friendship will end after high school…”
Taki sighed, realizing his words were a bit heavy. "Well, you know what I mean!" Taki huffed, "hey Harua, can we join you?"
"Yeah, sure," Harua chuckled, his laughter echoing in the library's quiet corners.
"Why 'we'? I didn't say I wanted to come," you protested.
"You're our model! So you have to come along!" Taki exclaimed with a mischievous grin, emphasizing the importance of your role.
Seeing the two of you playfully argue, Harua can’t help but smiled, "He's your model, Taki," he corrected. "You know I prefer capturing landscapes," he explained, highlighting his photography preferences.
Taki shot Harua a glance that held a mysterious meaning. It seemed like he wanted to say something important but ended up sighing instead. Harua could only glance back at his friend in confusion, trying to figure out what Taki was thinking.
---
So now, you, Harua, and Taki are in the next town, ready for a full-day trip. The three of you planned a full-day trip, eager to be part of Harua's photo hunting adventure. Without specific plans, you decided to let the day unfold naturally, going wherever your feet take you.
But this trip brings a mix of feelings for Harua. He's happy to spend time with friends like you, but there's also a little sadness in his heart. While you and Taki enjoy the trip, Harua is sorting through his feelings about friendship and things he hasn't said.
Right now, as always, Harua stands a bit apart from you and Taki. Even though he tried not to, he found himself pointing his camera at you. Surrounded by nature, you're lost in thought, looking at the forest with a bit of longing. It's the same look you had when he first met you on the rooftop two years ago. Harua adjusted his camera to capture your moment, but just as he was about to take the photo, you turned around and smiled right at the camera. He caught his breath, lowered his camera slowly, and hesitantly met your warm smile with his gaze.
"You should've told me you were taking a photo," you joked, before playfully turning away.
Harua looked at the picture he took. You looked peaceful and your eyes sparkled in a gentle way. The wind moved your hair, making the picture even nicer. It wasn't just a regular picture to him – your smile made it feel special, stirring up a lot of feelings.
As he looked at the scene again, Taki unexpectedly stepped into the frame next to you. He smiled and gently placed a flower behind your ear, making a shy smile appear on your face. Harua felt a little hurt seeing this sweet moment. He decided to ignore the sadness in his heart and looked away quietly. As usual, he tried not to let those feelings take over, but the sadness stayed, no matter how hard he tried.
---
Because of your curfew, the day trip needed to end before sunset. The bus ride back home was crowded with people heading home from work, but luckily, you found seats at the back for the three of you. Choosing the window seat, you wanted to enjoy the scenery a bit longer.
As the bus got fuller, an elderly lady got on, and Taki kindly offered her his seat. Harua, always considerate, suggested Taki take his seat, but Taki wanted to stand near the door. Now, it was just you and Harua. Harua noticed you were getting sleepy, your head bobbing.
"Just sleep if you're sleepy," Harua suggested.
You nodded with your eyes closed, trying to rest your head on the window to nap. But it didn't work well, and you ended up bumping your head against the window. Seeing this, Harua gently put his hand on your head, guiding you to lean on his shoulder instead.
Harua felt a twinge of nervousness, questioning whether it was okay for him to take this step. In his mind, he questioned himself. Was he being selfish, or or if he was just trying to make sure you were comfortable, even though he had deeper feelings for you. He was stuck in these thoughts, wanting to do something that made you feel good while also dealing with his own complicated feelings.
When he gently guided you to rest on his shoulder, Harua's heart had a mix of caring and worry. He really hoped Taki didn't see what he was doing. Harua didn't want to make things complicated between the three of you or make the already tangled emotions even more confusing.
---
Summer vacation had ended, and school activities were back. Harua walked down the school hallway, thinking about taking pictures of interesting things. When he got close to the music room, he heard the gentle sound of a flute. He smiled, thinking it must be you practicing. Carefully, he peeked through the door, not wanting to interrupt. There you were, playing the flute by the window, with a look of deep longing.
For some reason, Harua always found your deep gaze interesting. There was a feeling in it that fascinated him. When he saw it, he couldn't resist taking a picture to capture that special moment. Hearing the shutter sound, you stopped playing your flute and jokingly said, "Are you sure you’re a landscape photographer? Not a paparazzi?”
Harua chuckled, lowering his camera, "Maybe a bit of both. Your expressions are just too interesting to miss." He then gestured to his camera, adding, "But don't worry, no paparazzi secrets here – just capturing the beauty of the moment.”
You rolled your eyes playfully at his answer, and he can’t help to let out a chuckle. Harua walked over, asking, "What are you looking at?”
You gave him a small smile and shook your head, saying, "I was just thinking about something."
Harua nodded in understanding and smiled back. The two of you just stood there, sharing a comfortable silence, gazing out the window together.
"Hey, Harua," you broke the silence, "Since we’re graduating soon. If you like someone, will you confess your feelings to them?"
"Eh? What’s with the sudden question?" Your inquiry caught him off guard. You asked about what had been on his mind.
"Just curious," you replied, lip pressed together, showing him a thin smile.
Harua stayed quiet for a bit. He also thought about your question since forever. Would he finally tell you he likes you? Even though he knew it might be hard and there's a chance you might say no?
"Even if i want to confess, i don’t think it's that easy. I'm afraid of making a mistake, so is it better to just keep those feelings hidden?" Harua answered honestly.
Hearing this, you slowly nodded. Harua then turned the question to you, "What about you?"
"Just like you," you smiled, "who isn't scared of being turned down? But... if you don't say it, will you regret it later? I'm worried I won't be able to move forward if I keep my feelings inside."
"You're right," he agreed.
"Plus, my life won't stop just because someone didn't feel the same way," you added.
"You're right again."
Harua stayed quiet for a bit, thinking about your question. The idea that he might have to tell you about his feelings one day crossed his mind. Your eyes turned to him, and you could see the inner struggle on his face. It was clear that he was wrestling with the choice of sharing his emotions with you. He knew it could be tough, and there was a chance you might not feel the same way. The air felt tense as both of you stared at each other, silently thinking about the feelings that were not said out loud.
"Harua! Y/N!" a voice called from outside, interrupting the moment.
Both of you were surprised and looked down to see Taki waving energetically. "Can you guys wave at my camera?" he called out.
You smiled and waved at Taki's camera. Harua, on the other hand, took a moment before joining in the wave. It was in that moment that he realized—you had been looking at Taki the whole time.
---
When Harua first met you, he remembered how you looked at the marching band with a strong desire to join them. Your eyes showed that you really wanted to be part of the team, and there was a passion in your gaze—a quiet longing for something you dreamt of achieving.
Now, Harua is dealing with the fact that he didn't realize your deeper feelings sooner. It wasn't just the marching band that held your attention; there was a consistent, unspoken yearning directed toward Taki. The realization hits him suddenly, leaving a feeling of regret. He wonders why he didn't see these signs earlier, realizing that your heart had always been connected to Taki's.
Harua feels really sorry for not noticing your feelings earlier, and this realization makes his emotions even more complicated. Even though he knows he should step back and move on, it's hard for him to let go of his feelings. He understands what he should do, but the emotional challenge of facing the reality in front of him is tough. Inside him, there's a big struggle between wanting to detach and holding onto his emotions, and it's making his heart feel heavy.
---
As the day of the exhibition got closer, the photography club room was buzzing with excitement. Harua and Taki were busy working on their projects, surrounded by a creative mess of pictures, cameras, and equipment. Taki wanted to break the quietness and asked Harua for his opinion on his project.
But Harua stayed quiet, staring at his laptop screen, lost in his thoughts. Wondering what had caught his attention, Taki went closer and stood behind him, looking over his shoulder at the laptop screen. There it was—an amazing candid photo of you.
In the picture, you had a bright smile, and your relaxed pose looked just right. The photo captured a moment of happiness and fun, freezing it for everyone to see. The colors and the arrangement of everything in the photo made it even more charming.
"Are you thinking about putting this in the exhibition?" Taki asked.
Harua, surprised by Taki's sudden appearance, cleared his throat, feeling caught off guard. "No, I don't think so."
"I think it's great. You should include it," Taki encouraged, nodding reassuringly.
Harua's voice trembled a bit as he hesitated, trying to understand Taki's feelings. "Are you okay with that?"
Taki, puzzled by the question, furrowed his brows. "Why do you ask?"
"It's nothing," Harua mumbled, his heartbeat sounding loud in the room. His finger moved through the photos on his laptop, each click making a sound in the heavy silence.
"Look, I know you know I have feelings for her, but you don't need to hold yourself back like that. I don't want there to be any misunderstanding or competition between us."
"What do you mean?"
"Harua, I know you like her too," Taki sighed, feeling the weight of Harua's unspoken feelings in his heart.
Harua, however, laughed it off, quickly denying any romantic interest. "Whoa, you've got it all wrong. She's just a friend, nothing else." Harua closed his laptop and walked towards the door.
"Are you tired of lying to yourself?" Taki's question hung in the air, carrying both concern and frustration. Harua's steps came to a halt.
Taki kept his gaze on Harua. There was something heavy in the air—unsaid things hanging there, making the room feel tight. Harua stayed silent for a moment before leaving the club room, leaving Taki with a sense of unresolved tension.
Taki stayed in thoughtful silence, haunted by the unspoken truths and hidden feelings between them. He knew Harua was lying. Taki stared at the picture of you taken by Harua two years ago, stuck on the club room walls. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was a deeper story behind it. "Everyone would immediately know if they saw the photo you took," he thought, the room now filled with a tense air reflecting the complexities of their emotions.
---
After the argument with Taki, Harua decided to keep some distance from both you and Taki. Even though Taki tried to talk, Harua avoided him because he felt guilty and uneasy. Talking or meeting with Taki became something Harua feared.
This discomfort also affected his interactions with you. Being around you used to be comforting, but now it made Harua feel sad. The joy of being with you turned into a heavy emotional burden, leading him to avoid you too.
As the exhibition day approached, Harua felt more and more stressed. The pressure increased as he tried to decide on a theme and choose which photos to display.
But wait, that's not entirely true. Harua already picked the photos he wants to show. There's a picture of the day you both first met on the rooftop, another one of you practicing for the marching band, a snapshot of you running, and a sweet photo of your smile – all these pictures, each capturing a special moment with you, hold a special place in Harua's heart.
But he couldn't just display those photos. They're not just pictures; they're a collection of his deepest feelings for you. Each pictures holds the weight of his hope, a longing to always be by your side.
Is it okay if he's a little selfish, just this once? Can he wish to always be with you? Is it okay for him to hope you won't go away? Can he think that you'll always remember him? He already knows the answer, but still, can he be a bit selfish, just this one time?
Harua went to the rooftop to clear his mind and take pictures of the snowy view. He set up his camera to capture the peaceful view, and then you showed up in the frame, just like the first time he met you. It brought back a lot of emotions for him.
Your eyes met his camera, a sweet smile on your lips, just the way he liked it. With hands trembling slightly, he pressed the camera button.
"Hey," you greeted, and Harua smiled back at you.
"I heard you had some sort of arguments with Taki. He didn't tell me much about it, though..." you said, your voice soft.
Harua stayed silent, a heavy pause filling the air as if words struggled to escape his lips. His eyes, once focused on the camera, now seemed lost in a distant contemplation.
"Harua, I'm worried about you. You look and act differently these days. You seem distracted, like there's something on your mind. You can always tell me about it," you expressed your concern.
"You'll never understand, y/n. Even if I tell you everything, you'll never understand," Harua replied, his voice tinged with frustration, a mixture of emotions playing on his face.
"How could I understand if you never told me anything about it?!" you raised your voice. Your words held a plea for him to open up, to share the burden he carried. "I'll always listen to you, you know," your heartfelt words lingered in the air, each one carrying a plea for Harua to share the burden he carried. You genuinely offered to listen and be there for him, trying to close the gap between his silence and your understanding.
Harua looked into your eyes, feeling a surge of emotions. His love for you grew stronger, and he realized that his feelings were still deeply rooted in his heart. Tears filled his eyes, and a heavy ache settled in his chest, like a silent scream.
"Taki is right, I'm tired of lying to myself. I give up," Harua chuckled, his laughter mixed with tears streaming down his face. Your worried gaze met his.
Unable to hold back his emotions any longer, Harua confessed, "Please let me be selfish, just for once." Pulling you closer, he closed the gap between you, and tenderly kissed you.
As your lips met, a mix of emotions overwhelmed Harua—a blend of happiness and sorrow. Confessing his love felt liberating, but the pain of facing reality lingered. "I love you," he whispered against your lips, his heartfelt words hanging in the air. "I've always been in love with you.”
Tears rolled down your cheeks as Harua's confession settled in the space between you. He gently wiped them away, seeking a connection with your eyes.
"But Harua," you whispered, avoiding direct eye contact, wrestling with your own feelings.
"I know," he replied with a sad smile.
"If I could be a bit selfish, I'd want you to choose me. I want to stay with you, take care of you," he admitted, taking a deep breath, "but I know I can't."
"I don't want to make you unhappy. I don't want to force you to be with me if there's someone else who can make you happy," Harua expressed, his words carrying both understanding and deep sadness.
"And that's not me." The unspoken weight of unfulfilled wishes and the acknowledgment of an inevitable reality hung heavy in the air. Harua's eyes stayed on you, silently pleading for understanding and forgiveness.
"I'm sorry," you cried out, your voice filled with regret.
Harua shook his head, “It’s not your fault,” his heart clenched as he saw your struggle.
"I hope you find happiness, even if it's not with me," Harua said softly. Despite the emotional turmoil, he tried to muster a smile, hiding the deep sadness that lingered within.
With a soft pat on your shoulder, Harua turned away, walking off the rooftop without looking back. You stood there alone, carrying the weight of his words and the lingering emptiness he left behind. Regret and sadness mingled within you, casting a shadow on the quiet rooftop.
Unseen by Harua, tears continued to roll down his face as he found a secluded spot away from curious eyes. Overwhelming sadness engulfed him, leading him to sit on the ground, holding onto the flood of emotions inside him. The pain of letting go of his feelings became almost too much to bear. Yet, amid the tears, there was a faint sense of relief—he had finally opened his heart to you, even if it meant breaking his own in the process.
---
And at last, the big day came—the exhibition day. The gym building transformed into a magical art gallery, showcasing the impressive projects created by the photography club members about to finish their class.
Harua found a spot in the back row, eagerly waiting for the screening of Taki's short film. The film was a carefully crafted piece for this special occasion, and Taki's gaze remained tenderly fixed on you. This cinematic creation was, without a doubt, Taki's heartfelt confession to you.
As Harua's eyes met Taki's, he offered his friend a supportive smile, genuinely happy for both of you. It was clear that the film had touched you deeply, and Harua couldn't help but feel a sense of joy seeing Taki's heartfelt confession bringing happiness to someone he cared about.
After the film screening ended, a strong desire led Harua back to the exhibition space. There, he found Taki deeply contemplating his own photo. Harua decided to approach Taki, recognizing the significance of the moment. "Your film was incredible," he praised, genuinely admiring Taki's artistic contribution to the exhibition.
Taki chuckled and complimented Harua's photos in return. In the end, Harua gathered his courage and stuck to his original idea. Among the beautiful landscape pictures, he strategically placed candid shots of you. These photos represented how he had always admired you from afar, and that was his idea. Even though he got 'rejected', he promised to always keep cheer for you from afar.
"I'm sorry for lying all this time," Harua admitted. "You're right; I also like Y/n."
This caught Taki's interest, and he asked, "Do you know what I envy about you?"
Harua shook his head and waited for Taki's answer, and Taki smiled, saying, "Y/n's photos always look prettier on your camera than anyone else's." Taki admired the captivating images Harua had taken, each one telling a story of admiration and affection. "No matter how hard I try, my photos will never be as good as yours."
"You love her so much that your photos can show your feelings so clearly," Taki added, expressing both admiration and acknowledgment. "Anyone who sees a photo taken by you for the first time will immediately know that you love her."
Upon hearing those words, Harua's smile carried a blend of gratitude and a touch of longing. He took a deep breath, letting his emotions settle into a bittersweet realization. "I confessed to her a while ago," he shared, his lips pressing together as he recalled the moment. "And yeah, I got rejected.”
"I'm sorry," Taki sincerely apologized.
Taki looked at him and nodded slowly, a small smile appearing on his face. Harua returned the gesture with a warm smile, gently squeezing Taki's shoulder before they went their separate ways. From the corner of his eye, Harua noticed you approaching Taki. Turning to you, he couldn't resist giving a comforting smile. As your eyes met, he mouthed, "Be happy." Continuing his walk, he sensed your gaze and smiled again as he glanced over his shoulder.
Harua's sole wish was for your happiness, even if it meant not being with him. His self-made promise remained steadfast—he would always cheer for you from afar, ensuring that your journey was filled with joy, no matter the path you chose.

a/n.
this plot been dusting on my notes for years, i finally got the motivation and inspiration to write this fic after listening to back numbers again lol (i would recommend their songs to every angst writers out there); i repeated christmas song like crazy when i write this jasdalkdja
i originally have 3 endings idea for this fic, an open ending, taki’s ending, and ofc harua’s ending.
about the ending… i actually think it as an open ending, because it is not stated that whyen taki is the end game (even though harua make it sounds like she ended up with him). as i personally think it’s the best for whyen not to end up with any of them.
this fic is more of harua pov, so i actually been thinking to write the taki’s version too. in his ending, ofc the two of them will ended up together as an end game. lmk if you’re interested to read his ending ;]
as for harua’s ending, it’ll be set a few years after their graduation (probably in their college year), where he’ll reconcile with his past and meet y/n again. I was thinking to make his ending as a sequel to this fic, but again i still don’t know for sure and i’m don’t know if i’ll have time to write long fics anytime soon… so yeah, maybe we’ll see?
and last but not least, this is my first time writing angst dhshsh so i hope this fic is angsty enough to be considered as angst? bcs idk i actually have a mixed feelings with how this fic turns out dhshs so yeah i hope this turns out okay…

DOVE genre ➳ fluff. prince au. childhood friends to lovers. a pinch of angst maybe? warnings ➳ tiny bit of crying. mysterious unspecified heart disease. harua kinda flirts but he doesn't know it lmao. pairing ➳ prince!harua x fem!reader. wc ➳ 2.6k.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Harua was born very sick. He had a hereditary heart condition— the same as his mother. Hearing the news of his condition a few hours after his birth, his father decided that he was too fragile to take on the role of a prince, so he was kept hidden from the world.
From that moment on, Harua was never allowed outside unsupervised. He was confined inside the castle where the palace nurses could make sure he was safe 24 hours a day. Whenever he went outside, he was accompanied by his mother and 2 nurses. They were all paranoid that his heart might stop at any minute.
Harua never felt as fragile as they told him he was.
His mother often took him to the beach when he was little as the doctors said the seabreeze was good for him. Harua loved everything about the beach. He loved the shells that he found on the shore, how they twisted and spiralled into different colours. He loved the waves, their constant push and pull towards the shore and towards his feet. He loved how the sand felt between his toes, how soft and smooth it was. He loved how he could build little castles with the sand depending on how much water he added.
But, most of all, he loved the girl who found the shells, raced against the waves, walked along the shore, and built castles with him. He loved the girl who made him feel normal. No mentions of being royalty. No mentions of his weak heart. You made him feel at ease, even as a little child.
You were always on the beach whenever Harua came, and he used to come almost every day. It didn’t matter what you were doing with him, any time spent with Harua was precious to you.
When Harua was 12, his mother died of her heart condition. Her sudden death caused such a stir in the kingdom, that the palace almost completely shut down. The king fell into a depression, having lost his precious wife. He spent most of the day by her grave and did not speak to Harua or anyone else in the castle.
Without his mother to accompany him, Harua was no longer allowed to go off the castle grounds. He was able to access the gardens and the little patch of woods where wild mushrooms and forest creatures dwelled, but he could not go to the sea.
He could not see you.
It wasn’t just the king that seemed sorrowed by the queen’s passing, even Harua’s nurses and maids who he had become good friends with barely spoke a word to him anymore. It was like everyone had forgotten his existence, trying to keep the kingdom alive with the king almost completely isolating himself from society.
Harua missed the balls and the laughter. He missed seeing his mother in pretty dresses and dancing with princesses. He missed the palace he once knew— the palace that was alive. But nothing could compare to how much he missed you.
He spent most days by his window, like he was sitting now. If he squinted hard enough, he could just barely see the start of the shoreline in the far distance. It didn’t seem so far away when he was little, but now it was practically unreachable.
He tried not to cry. An 18 year old prince should not be swayed to tears so easily. But his life really was miserable, and shining tears slipped down his milky cheek the longer he stared out the window.
He was trapped.
His mother used to sing a song when he was little, the lyrics depicting a dove trapped in a cage with a broken wing. It’s situation seemed helpless, until a small swallow helped it. He didn’t realise when he was younger that his mother was comparing him to the dove. But now, he was starting to realise what she meant.
The cage that the dove was confined in was the palace. The dove’s broken wing was his weak heart. And the swallow who saved the dove from its life of isolation and loneliness was you.
He wanted to rush out of the palace and sink his feet into the warm sand again, but he knew that no one would let him leave. Sneaking out was an option, but Harua didn’t know if he had the courage to pull something like that. His entire life he had been well behaved and obedient. He listened to his parent’s requests and followed their rules. Yes, he was 18 now. Technically an adult. But he had never broken a rule in his entire life. Somehow, the thought of breaking that streak was worse than anything.
If he couldn’t go out and see you, maybe there was another solution.
Harua may not have taken on princely duties most of his life, but he knew how things worked in the palace. He knew the offices and which people to go to if he wanted to find someone— summon someone.
So, he did. He sent a request for Miss Y/n L/n to be sent to the palace immediately. Doing as little as that was very satisfying for Harua. He had never been allowed to lift a finger his entire life. He was dismissed as incompetent because he was sick. But, he was smart and witty. He had learned the ins and outs of the palace from just observation.
Now that the request was sent, all that was left to do was wait. He hadn’t seen you since he was 12, and the longer he waited in the entranceway of the palace, the more he felt nervous to see you again.
He had always liked you, and he still did after all this time. You were the only girl that he really knew. The princesses he had danced with had been pretty, but they were all the same once you tried to get to know them. And maybe he was always subconsciously comparing them to you. It was like they faded into the distance whenever he thought of them compared to you.
If Harua had to describe you, he would compare you to freshly blossomed flowers or rich chocolate cake. The splash of cool water on a hot day or the crackle of a wood on fire. You were vibrant and full of life. He couldn't explain just how wonderful you were. There weren’t enough words in the world to even begin to scratch the surface of you. He could easily spend his entire life admiring you.
And all of this was just from his memory of you. Harua wondered how much you would have changed in 6 years. Did you still love seashells and the waves? Did you still love strawberry shortcake more than any other dessert in the world? Did you still prefer light blue dresses to pink?
Harua knew that he had changed in 6 years. He didn’t smile as much. He didn’t even remember the last time he had laughed. He spent most of the time in the library when before he had never even wanted to touch a book.
As he thought through it all, he only became more impatient to see you again. He had already checked in his mirror to make sure he looked his best, but it had been hours since he sent the request. Surely it wouldn’t be that much longer?
Thankfully, it wasn’t. The guards announced your arrival an hour later, and Harua raced to the front entrance. He had had hours to think and prepare himself for seeing you again, 6 years later, but nothing could have prepared him for just how beautiful you looked.
You were dressed simply in a plain dress, certainly nothing fancy compared to your elegant surroundings. Your hair was tied back and it reminded Harua of how much you used to hate tying your hair back when you were little. Maybe that’s one of the ways you had changed. You looked confused and a little unsettled.
Harua’s heart dropped at the thought that the guards might have been rude to you or been too rough escorting you to the palace. What if you thought you had done something wrong? Did you think you were called here for a bad reason?
You turned and finally made eye contact with Harua. He felt like your gaze had completely frozen him to his spot, his feet sticking to the floor no matter how hard he tried to move them. But as you looked at him, he saw your expression relax and all the fear in your eyes melt away. It faded his nerves as well, and he was able to offer you a small smile.
“Y/n?” It felt surreal calling out the name after so many years. You were his best friend, his closest companion. You had known him since you were a baby. So why did he feel so awkward?
“Harua!” You smiled— god, he had missed your smile. You looked elated, as if it were your birthday or something. You eagerly stepped forward, embracing Harua in a hug before the boy had time to think.
It was kind of like his brain malfunctioned at that point. You had been several feet away just seconds ago but now you were so close, arms wrapped around his still frozen figure, face buried in the crook of his neck. It felt as if nothing had changed. Nothing was different. 6 years had passed but you were still Y/n and he was still Harua.
He relaxed completely, smiling just as widely as you and wrapping his arms around you, giving you a gentle squeeze. He could smell your hair from how close he was, picking up the subtle hints of lavender and rose. It was comforting and familiar and he hugged you closer.
“I missed you.” You whispered, laying your cheek against his chest and you could just barely make out his heartbeat— it was racing. You were glad you weren’t the only one.
“I missed you too. I’m sorry I left that day.” He mumbled, referencing the last day he had seen you. Palace guards had come unexpectedly and taken Harua back to the palace without a single explanation for him or you. You thought you would see him again the next day, but he never showed up. You waited for an entire week at the beach, waiting for him to come back. You never knew why he wasn’t able to until now.
Harua showed you his room and around the castle grounds. It was most deserted, but still glamorous and elegant. You had never seen such intricate architecture and sophisticated decorations. There were paintings hung on the wall that were twice as tall as you, and statues in the gardens so lifelike and impressive that you could only wonder how much they cost.
As it grew later in the evening, Harua took you to the dining hall where an immaculate dinner spread was provided by the chefs. It was just you and him in the endlessly big palace. He showed you the attic filled with artifacts and the 3 story library that had secret rooms in the bookshelves. The day was filled with wonder and laughter and reunion. You never wanted it to end.
It was dusk and Harua was walking in the garden with you, hand-in-hand. The moon was up in the sky, showing itself as the sun set for the day, soft pinks and yellows mingling together in the sky before fading to a dark blue. It was gorgeous.
“Harua?”
“Hm?”
“Do you remember the promise you made me when we were 11?” You weren’t sure why your brain thought of it at this very moment, but the thought made you smile.
“That I would marry you?” He responded immediately, the memory still clear in his head.
“Yeah. I still have the ring, you know.”
“Really?”
“I wasn’t going to throw it out, obviously. I always thought one day I’d reunite with you and you’d make the promise come true, you know?” You said, words floating along with the breeze.
“Do you still want it?” He looked at you, eyes shimmering— sparkling like the stars. He was the prettiest boy you had ever seen.
“If you… would settle for a girl like me.” You gulped, but the lump in your throat didn’t go away. When you were little, you didn’t understand the difference in class. You didn’t realise how absurd the thought of someone like you marrying a prince was. Though, it seemed to work out in fairytales.
“I wouldn’t be settling for anything less than perfect.” Harua said sternly.
“Did you forget that you’re a prince?”
“I don’t feel like a prince, Y/n. There’s nothing about me that screams princelike.” He said with a frown, “And I’ve never met anyone who I liked better than you. If anyone asked me to describe the perfect person, I would only ever be able to think of you.”
You blushed at his words, looking away at a rose bush to distract yourself from his pretty face. He seemed to notice your embarrassment and it made him smile. He silently picked one of the roses from a nearby bush— a soft yellowy-pink one that reminded him of you. He offered it to you, brushing a strand of your hair behind your hair as he did so.
“You’re blushing.” He said softly, almost in awe of the pretty colour that tinted your cheeks.
“You’re not helping.” You replied back, carefully taking the rose from his hand.
“Huh?”
“Harua!” You whined, frustrated that the boy didn’t seem to realise the effect his actions had on you.
“I’m sorry-”
“Don’t be.” You pressed a finger to his lips, preventing him from speaking another word. “It’s endearing.”
This time, he blushed at your words, his once confident eyes shying away from your gaze. You wanted to coo at how cute the sight was, or maybe you really were just too enraptured by the boy that sat in front of you.
“You really want to?” You asked again, wanting him to clear away any last bit of uncertainty that you had. You were still guarding your heart, too scared that it might get broken if you offered it to Harua.
But, his eyes softened and he nodded and gave you a reassuring smile. The gaze melted away all your worries and doubts, and you put all your trust in him.
“Then I’m all yours.” You whispered.
If you had thought about this in terms of the books you had read, you should’ve known that a kiss would come next. You shouldn’t have been surprised when Harua started to lean in, soft lips searching for yours. But you were never able to predict anything with Harua, and so, when his lips finally pressed against yours, your heart was startled. It skipped a beat and then sped up, thumping heavily in your chest. You started to wonder if this reaction was normal.
Harua’s lips felt plush and soft, somehow much more moisturised than yours. They felt nice— a heart fluttering, blush-inducing feeling that you never wanted to end. But, neither of you had unlimited breath, and you had to pull away eventually.
Harua’s eyes held such fondness as he looked at you after the kiss, your eyes still closed, cheeks burning. You were so pretty, so precious to him. He loved you more than anything in this world.
You were his swallow.

as an idol, harua was used to performing in front of thousands of screaming fans, but there was one person who managed to make him more nervous than any stage ever could. that person was you, his stylist. he had been crushing on you for months, but he hid his feelings behind his bunny smile and tried to ignore the way his heart would race whenever you were near.
harua and you had been close friends for a while, sharing inside jokes and spending a lot of time together. he cherished those moments, treasuring all the little interactions he had with you. but lately, he had started to feel a different kind of flutter in his chest whenever you were around. it was the kind of feeling that had him tripping over his own words and blushing like a fool.
harua always got a little shy and flustered when you had to make adjustments to his outfit or do his makeup. he couldn't help but wonder if you noticed his extra fidgeting or the way his cheeks would turn crimson under your touch. he would steal glances at you, hoping you wouldn't catch on to how much of a mess he was becoming.
of course, his best friend, maki, noticed immediately. maki was always teasing both of you, claiming that harua had a crush on you. but you brushed it off, not believing it for a second. you never thought someone like harua would be interested in you.
one day, after a particularly electrifying performance, harua found himself sitting in front of you, his heart pounding as you made some adjustments to his outfit. he couldn't hold it in any longer. all the words he had been stifling for months were desperate to escape. as you worked, he hesitated for a moment before blurting out, "noona... you're so pretty."
the words slipped out, and harua’s eyes widened in shock at his own confession. the silence hung heavy between you both as you stared at each other, both of your faces turning a deep shade of red. harua’s normally confident and composed self had disappeared, leaving in its place a shy and vulnerable boy who had finally let his feelings slip through the cracks.
a stunned smile flickered across your face at his unexpected compliment. you had always thought harua was adorable, but you never thought he would feel the same way about you. for a moment, uncertainty wrestled within you, but the glimmer of hope and happiness in his eyes was enough to reassure you.
recovering from your initial surprise, you leaned in slightly, a smile gracing your lips as you whispered, "you’re pretty too, harua."
those simple words broke the tension, and a surge of happiness coursed through harua’s veins. he couldn't believe you felt the same way. his shyness began to fade as excitement filled him.
a delighted giggle escaped you, and harua couldn’t help but join in. it felt like the start of something magical, turning the page of your friendship into something deeper and more meaningful.

"You are?"
Tumblr media
Pairings: Harua x Reader
Word count: 3,554 words
warnings: NONE (Just Harua being cute and Jungwon being an annoying brother)
-
"Yah, Jungwon-ah. Can you pass me the water bottle?" you called out, your voice slightly strained from the split position you were attempting. Sweat dripped down your forehead as you stretched your body from left to right, feeling the tension in your hamstrings and thighs almost threatening to tear you apart.
“Jungwon-ah…” Jungwon scoffed, threatening to hit you with the water bottle. Looking up at him, you offered an apologetic smile and a peace sign.
"I meant 'Jungwon oppa'," you clarified, voice filled with a mix of amusement and exasperation. With a swift motion, you snatched the water bottle from his hands and brought it to your lips, drinking in large gulps. The cool water provided some relief, but the discomfort in your muscles lingered.
Feeling a surge of tiredness, you asked Jungwon for assistance in getting up. But, you felt his hands on your left foot, pulling it outward instead. The intense stretch hit you like a bolt of lightning, and a sharp cry of pain escaped your lips. You couldn't help but lash out at him, nudging his shoulders in an attempt to make him stop.
"Motherfu-" you exclaimed, the words cut short as you swiftly swung your water bottle, hitting Jungwon in the arm. He jerked back, eyes widening in surprise as he rose from the floor like a zombie emerging from its grave.
A snort escaped your lips, a mix of amusement and frustration at the situation. "Hey! I was just helping you do the split position properly!" Jungwon protested, clearly taken aback by your reaction. He grabbed you by the shoulders, exerting his strength as he threw your body onto the nearby couch.
Not one to back down easily, you wriggled free from his grip and stood defiantly beside the couch. You placed your hands on your waist. The irritation was evident in your voice as you looked at Jungwon with disbelief. "Did I ask for your help?" you questioned, a touch of sarcasm tainting your words. "Anyways, you said it would only take 5 minutes! Hello? It's been 45 minutes already! Mom and dad are waiting!"
Jungwon flicked your forehead. "You're so impatient," he remarked.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes. "Wow. Now I'm the impatient one," you retorted, the sarcasm dripping from your words.
Jungwon shrugged nonchalantly, seemingly unfazed. "I told you! I'm just waiting for someone. He's going to drop something off for me," he explained.
An incredulous expression crossed your face as you stared at him. "What? Is it really that important? Dinner starts at 8:00 PM. It's already 7:55 PM," you reminded him, a note of exasperation in your voice. Squinting your eyes at him, you continued, "You know what? Suit yourself. I'm going to go. I'm so hungry I could eat a horse."
You quickly slipped on your school shoes and grabbed your backpack. But just as you were about to make your exit, Jungwon swiftly blocked your way with his foot, causing you to stumble slightly. To add salt to injury, you could hear him barely containing his laughter.
You shot him a piercing glare, struggling to maintain your composure and resisting the urge to kick him. "Stay here. I'll just get it myself," Jungwon declared, not even waiting for you to voice your opinion as he swiftly jogged out of the dance practice room, leaving you alone and irritated.
You couldn't help but shake your head in disbelief. People adored Jungwon so much, but if you had the chance, you would gladly banish his existence far far away from yours.
So much for an older brother, you guess.
You sighed.
If you were going to skip dinner tonight, you would make sure Jungwon treated you to food for the next two weeks.
You reached for your phone and texted your mom, letting her know that you and Jungwon might be late for dinner. Once the message was sent, you took off your bag and returned to the spot where you were practicing your split. Slowly easing yourself back into the position, you could feel the strain on your muscles as you pushed yourself to perfect it. Your heart was set on acing your upcoming monthly evaluation and debuting as soon as possible.
Counting silently in your head, you switched positions, carefully stretching your muscles. As you focused on your training, fully engrossed in your pursuit of perfection, a sudden knock on the door broke the silence of the empty practice room.
"Sunbaenim? Are you here?" a voice, reminiscent of a character from an anime, echoed through the room, piquing your curiosity. Swiftly turning your head, you scanned the space to locate the source of the voice.
Your gaze landed on a cute and lanky figure standing by the doorframe. He wore a purple flannel over a plain white shirt, his jet-black hair perfectly complementing his lips, which were shaded with just the right amount of red. His eyes held a twinkle, as if they held the brightest and prettiest stars in the universe. Overall his aura screamed… innocence.
Unbeknownst to you, you held your breath, completely entranced by his presence.
The owner of the voice bowed politely to acknowledge your presence, offering you a cute boyish smile. His eyes scanned the empty practice room, sparkling with curiosity and wonder. It was as if he saw something magical in the mundane surroundings. "Hello. By any chance, have you seen where Jungwon sunbaenim went?" he asked in fluent Japanese, his words flowing like a melody. Although you were familiar with the language, there was something about his voice that made your heart flutter.
Snapping back to reality, you realized that you had been gawking at him for far too long. Shaking off the trance, you quickly responded, "You are?" The words slipped out, tinged with a mix of embarrassment and curiosity.
He cleared his throat, apologizing for his earlier intrusion. Now speaking in Korean, he introduced himself, "I'm Harua. Nice to meet you..." He paused, waiting for you to share your name.
"Y/N. I'm Jungwon's sister," you replied, rising from your split position and walking toward him. Determined to assert yourself, you added, "What do you want from my brother?" There was a hint of intimidation in your voice, causing Harua to back down slightly, as if he were a deer caught in headlights.
You noticed his gulp, and his cautious demeanor only made him appear more endearing, like a lost puppy.
Cute.
"Uh... I need to give him this... Noona? [Term used to refer to a female that's older that you when you are a male]" He said quite unsure. You shook your head.
Noona? You looked like a Noona while wearing this high school uniform? Or, was he actually that young?
"Year?" You stretched out your hands and signalled him to give you what he was supposed to give Jungwon. He handed it to you frantically. A plushie. "Year?" You repeated as you surveyed the brown bear in your hands. This was it? The thing that kept Jungwon from leaving early?
You looked up when you heard nothing from Harua.
"I said what year." You repeated again but he just looked at you like a lost puppy. You sighed, trying your best to refrain from wanting to pinch his cheeks. "I meant what year were you born." You clarified and you saw how his seemingly constricted face immediately brightening when he understood what you meant.
"2005." He replied grimly.
You nodded, taking note of the age difference between you. "I was born in 2006, specifically on September 1st, 2006. I'm not your 'noona,'" you explained, emphasizing the age gap between you.
He nodded but almost immediately looked confused again.
"Huh? I thought Jungwon sunbaenim only has an older sister?" He uttered, scanning your face as if he was deciphering codes.
You were taken aback by his knowledge of Jungwon's family situation. How did he know that Jungwon had an older sister? Your curiosity piqued, and you decided to divulge a bit more about your relationship with Jungwon. "Well, I'm a trainee under this company. Even though I don't like to admit it, Jungwon and I..." you pointed to your face and the small poster of Jungwon on the wall. "We basically look like twins," you explained. Seeing Harua squint his eyes and mouth the word 'right,' you knew he had connected the dots.
"Moreover, my surname is also Yang. If I were to debut as an idol, people would put two and two together and realize that we're siblings." You added and he nodded. He seemed to grasp the situation, acknowledging the need to keep your relationship hidden from the public. "So, to avoid unnecessary drama, the company advised Jungwon oppa not to disclose that he has a younger sibling."
"That makes sense," His response resonated with you, and you nodded in agreement. "It must be cool having Jungwon sunbaenim as an older brother," Harua said dreamily.
You couldn't help but cringe at his words. "Yeah, I'm so lucky," you replied sarcastically, unable to hide your skepticism. Being Jungwon's sister had its moments, but it also came with its fair share of annoyances.
Wanting to shift the focus, you changed the topic. "Anyways, you're from &team, right?" you asked, recognizing his affiliation with the group. Harua's eyes widened in surprise, clearly not expecting you to know which group he belonged to. As an unfamiliar face, you assumed he had recently debuted. You were aware that Maki, your friend, had recently debuted in &team, allowing you to connect the dots. It wasn't rocket science; it was simple deduction. But Harua is making it seem like you just revealed the secrets of the universe.
"Ah yes." He bowed again smiling from eye to eye.
Then, an awkward silence settled between you. Uncertain of how to continue the conversation, you felt the need to keep it going a little longer. "You know Maki?" you asked, knowing the answer but wanting to hear it from him.
Harua nodded, confirming your assumption. "We're from the same team," he replied, pride evident in his voice.
Then again, the two of you stood there staring at each other, unsure of what to say next.
You could just resume to what you were doing, you know. But somehow, you really want to converse with him.
"Are you going to leave or what?" Instantly regretting your choice of words, you saw how Harua was taken aback by your abruptness. Mentally slapping yourself, you quickly corrected your statement. "Oh, sorry. What I meant was, are you going to leave already, and I'll give this to Jungwon, or do you want to wait here for him to come back and give it to him yourself?"
Harua visibly relaxed at your clarification, his relief evident. "Is it okay if I wait here?" he cautiously asked, and you nodded, almost too enthusiastically. A weight seemed to lift off his shoulders, and he bowed in gratitude. "Thank you," he said sincerely, and you nodded in acknowledgment.
"Do you know how to do a split?" you asked.
Harua's smile brightened, and your heart skipped a beat at the sight.
"Yes," he replied confidently, and you couldn't help but be intrigued.
"Really?" you gasped, unable to hide your surprise.
"I'm really good at it if I say so myself," Harua said, nodding affirmatively.
"Can you teach me?"
Harua nodded once again and walked toward you. You observed him removing his bag and jacket and as he slowly eased to a splitting position. As you were observing him, you noticed that he had four visible moles. One on his nose and three on his neck. You could also see his earrings dangling back and forth as he lowered.
You instantly looked away when he looked your way.
You coughed.
"Yours looks fine, but if you tilt your body a little like this, it makes it much easier to stretch," Harua instructed, gracefully demonstrating the proper form. "But I'm not an expert, okay? I just learned this from our dance trainor," he added, offering a disclaimer.
You nodded, eagerly attempting to replicate his movements. However, it quickly became apparent that it wasn't as easy as Harua made it look. Frustration washed over you, and you couldn't help but whine, "How do you do that? How are you that good?"
"We used to practice this whilst training." Harua explained. His gaze was fixated on your form and you can’t help but feel your cheeks burning slightly. Was he judging your position? What if he’s laughing at you mentally right now?
Wanting to shift the focus, you asked, "What year did you start training?"
"2018," Harua replied without lifting his gaze, his attention still focused on your form.
Amidst the silence, you couldn't help but joke, "Yo, sunbaenim." But you immediately winced, feeling the strain in your muscles. "Why does it feel like my hamstrings are being torn apart? Is this normal?" you inquired. It genuinely felt like you were about to give birth to a full-sized basketball.
Harua looked at you hesitantly, struggling to find the right words. Concerned for your well-being, he decided to provide guidance. "Stretch your legs like this," Harua instructed, mimicking the proper technique. As you tried to mimic his movements, a sharp cry of pain escaped your lips. "This isn't working," you sighed in defeat.
Harua, his concern growing, looked at you intently. "Is it okay if I touch your shoes?" he asked, meeting your gaze.
His eyes seemed to hold a mesmerizing power over you, and you found yourself nodding unconsciously. It felt as if time stood still as Harua gently adjusted your left foot.
Dugdug.
Dugdug.
Your heart pounded in your chest, and a smile began to creep across your face. Harua's touch and the intensity of his gaze had left you feeling exhilarated, a warmth spreading through your body. You were momentarily lost in the moment, captivated by his presence.
Suddenly, Harua's voice snapped you back to reality. "There! It doesn't feel as bad, right?" he said, looking at you expectantly.
Dugdug.
Dugdug.
You coughed, attempting to compose yourself. "Ah, yes. I don't feel any pain," you stammered, trying to steady your voice.
Harua's smile brightened at your response, his enthusiasm evident.
"That's great!" Harua replied, his tone filled with genuine excitement. His expressive eyes once again captured your attention, causing a smile to grace your lips too. You couldn't help but wonder what was happening to you—why you felt this way around him.
Just as you were about to express your gratitude to Harua, the door swung open, and Jungwon's voice filled the room. Startled, you quickly stood up, and Harua followed suit.
"What were you guys doing?" Jungwon asked, his gaze shifting between the two of you.
"Splits!" You and Harua replied simultaneously, the words escaping your lips before you had a chance to think. You immediately regretted your response, realizing that this would undoubtedly fuel Jungwon's teasing.
Jungwon smirked, his eyes filled with a cryptic gleam as he looked at you. His raised eyebrows suggested that he had caught onto something, and then he turned his gaze toward Harua. Harua coughed, clearly uncomfortable with the situation.
“Sunbaenim…” Harua bowed to greet Jungwon.
Jungwon smiled.
“Harua-kun. You know? She’s really stubborn and hot headed. One time, she pushed me off my chair when I was-“
“Oppa! What are you doing!” you cut him off, shooting daggers towards his direction.
“I’m scaring him away.” Jungwon replied with a mischievious grin on his face.
“Wha-“ You looked at him in disbelief.
Harua coughed. You looked at his way and you were hit with a new wave of embarrassment.
You took a deep breath and calmed yourself down.
Feeling a mix of embarrassment and annoyance, you decided it was time to make your exit. "I'll wait for you in the lobby," you announced, turning to face your older brother. The atmosphere in the room was becoming too awkward for your liking. "Thank you, Harua," you turned your gaze towards Harua now.
You grabbed your bag and wore your shoes first before walking towards the door.
“Yang Jungwon I hate you.” you mouthed towards your brother as you swiftly made your way out of the dance practice room, eager to escape the lingering tension.
Just wait when we get back home, Yang Jungwon.
