i love to be a rays fan. everything is going so well in rays baseball land. our best pitcher doesn’t need tommy john. another excellent pitcher isn’t recovering from tommy john. yet another great pitcher hasn’t had a different, not tommy john elbow surgery. our generational talent ss isn’t being investigated for allegedly dating a 14-year-old. our best closer can pitch at any temperature. man.

AL Edges NL For 9th Straight Win!
American League 3 National League 2 W-Valdez (1-0) L-Gonsolin (0-1) SV-Clase (1)
Los Angeles has put on quite a show during All-Star Weekend. The Futures Game was a fun one and the Home Run Derby was entertaining. The weekend culminated tonight with the All-Star Game. The National League was ready from the start as Ronald Acuna Jr. led-off with a double to left in the first. Mookie Betts followed with a run-scoring single to center to push across the game’s first run. Later in the inning, Paul Goldschmidt smacked a Shane McClanahan fastball out to left for a solo homer. This put the National League up by a pair of runs after an inning of play. The American League would strike back in the fourth when Jose Ramirez led-off with a base hit to center. With one out, Giancarlo Stanton smoked a Tony Gonsolin slider out to left for a two-run homer, which tied the game at two. The next batter, Byron Buxton belted a Gonsolin high fastball out to left for a solo homer. The back-to-back homers put the American League up 3-2 after four innings of play. Pitching dominated the rest of the way and Emmanuel Clase struck out the side in the ninth as the American League won their ninth straight All-Star Game tonight.
-Final Thoughts- Byron Buxton struck out in his first at-bat against Sandy Alcantara. He hit the go-ahead homer off Tony Gonsolin in the fourth to put the American League on top. He is the fourth Twin to homer in the All-Star Game joining Harmon Killebrew, Kirby Puckett, and Brian Dozier. Luis Arraez went 1-for-2 with a single off Ryan Helsley. No batter has a hit off a Helsey curveball this year, but Arraez got one. It was more of the same as the pitching dominated yet another All-Star Game. The Dodgers put on quite a show during Rachel Robinson’s 100th birthday. The second half will resume for the Twins on Saturday against the Tigers.

FBB 2023: Dump Trades
In seeing my team is not going to be even close to competing, I've decided to pull off some dump trades to get prospects and younger, cheaper talent. Trade 1 Spears Carriers Trade Andrew Vaughn, 1B CHW Trade Matt Chapman, 3B TOR
Weekend Warriors Trade Mike Ford, 1B SEA Eduardo Escobar, 3B LAA Josh Jung, RL TEX
This was all for Jung. Neither Vaughn nor Chapman are performing to their salaries and are not players to build around.
Trade 2 Spears Carriers Trade Steve Kwan, OF CLE Trade Andres Gimenez, 2B CLE
Susquehannocks Trade Mauricio Dubon, 2B HOU Trade Jake Meyers, OF HOU Trade Jonathan Aranda, Minor TB Trade Shane Baz, RL TB
Both Kwan and Gimenez were not going to be freezes for next year. I decided Aranda and Baz were worth the risk -- that is, if the Rays play Aranda. He's been active for almost a week and they haven't started him once. His is issue is that he isn't a great fielder, but has great hitting skills. We shall see if either of these pay off. I do think Jung will, but harbor some skepticism that about Aranda and Baz. Baz is going to hope to come back from a 3rd Tommy John surgery next season.
Really Bad News My ace, Shane McClanahan, is having Tommy John surgery. I saw it coming. He had a string of mediocre starts, then got pulled from a start. Then the announcement. It's a real blow for my team and part of the reason I went for Baz.
