Some of my favorite low cal foods 🖤
- Tuna creations : These range from usually 70-110 calories and are pouches of flavored tuna. They’re high in protein and really tasty!
- Snack packs : Most stores have snack bags of pretzels or chips. They’re usually 50-150 calories, it definitely depends on what you choose. I usually get snyder’s pretzel lunch packs, which are 50cal for a pack! Good for when you want/need to eat but have a low amount left.
- Fiber/Protein one bars : These range from 70-90 calories. They sell both fiber and protein bars, in a range of flavors. They taste like desserts but for a lot less calories:) The fiber ones are good for constipation(I’m not gonna even try to cover this up, it rlly is an issue in this community and i think we all know it). Protein ones are also good for getting in protein because it can be hard when you’re not eating much.
- Fit & Active yogurt : These yogurts range from 70-130 calories. An average yogurt has 70-80 calories, but one with toppings will be around 130. The topping ones are really good for dessert cravings! These also can help you fit in some protein, Im pretty sure it’s around 10g for a cup:)
- Sugar free jello : These are 5 calories a cup, usually. It’s pretty filling if you eat a few and doesn’t add too many calories. It’s super tasty mixed w/ whipped cream too!!
- S o u p! : This is a general area, but I think soup is a really good, filling thing to eat. These vary wildly in calories, but tomato soup and chicken noodle soup are both pretty low cal, around 150 for a can usually. You can also get other varieties of soup in ‘healthy’ version, which is usually lighter in calories.
- Baby puffs / toddler snacks : So this one is a bit more odd, but worth mentioning. Since babies and toddlers naturally have a less caloric diet, they’re food is very low cal. It’s usually 25-35 calories for a serving size of their snacks. Specifically, gerber’s puffs and lil crunchies(i think that’s what they’re called!) are pretty good and both stay in that 25-30 calories range. It’s a safe binge food if you’re very hungry and just need to eat.
- Sara Lee bread(45c) / 647 bread : These are both low cal bread, ranging from 40-45 cal a slice. These aren’t perse a safe food for me but I think they’re a good substitute for when you just want a sandwich or maybe toast for breakfast:) I wanted to add this as i’m not sure if everyone knows about them~
*Note: I don’t support eating disorders. I hope anyone who reads this can recover. I simply made this list to hopefully help people expand into more foods and possibly add to their safe food list❤️ It’s hard to eat when you’re afraid of most foods; I’d rather have people eat low cal than nothing at all.

Cafes @ Sai Ying Pun
I love Sai Ying Pun - there’s no news about that. It’s local yet close enough to HK center and very well connected to the other iconic and beautiful parts of the city. It’s where I stayed the first time, it’s where I stayed this last time and probably where I would still stay whenever I return. Does this happen to you? I’m always torn between knowing a new place, restaurant or neighborhood or “going back” or re-visiting old and dear places - we’ve discussed already on previous posts that there’s no such thing as coming back per se, but you’ve got my point. I guess I will find out about this query once the opportunity of going back to Asia while making a pit-stop in HK happens <3  In the meantime, let me remember all the beautiful and delicious coffee venues I found in Sai Ying Pun. Let me start with this mouth-watering recco called Noc.
Noc  321 Des Voeux Rd W
Tumblr media
Fantastic venue, great for co-working with a very neat and Scandinavian approach to food and interior design. One can actually witness the coffee brewery and the bread making on it’s facilities. And having one a few blocks away from the hotel was a great finding, provided by Mau, my un-official HK guide. The avocado toast with goat cheese and pomegranate was out of this world, and the cappuccino was done to perfection. Everything was beautiful, detailed and again, so so pretty, that already put you on a great mood to kickoff your week, start your day or power-up your afternoon. Even the tattoos from the waitress were wonderful! (check them out and judge yourself: @gagama)
Coffee by Zion  First St, 83號, Chun King Court, shop 1
Tumblr media
I remember coming to this coffee shop last time. I suddenly happened to find it again and actually sat down and write as you can see from the picture. My computer blends in with the shelf wall so well and so did I with my soy cappuccino and fresh toast sandwich. It had great wifi connection and it was quiet and nice to relax before heading to work. Winstons Coffee Shop 4, G/F Rich Court, 213 Queen's Rd W
Tumblr media
One of the greatest findings of this trip. One block away from the hotel, right next to the subway station, with prosecco fridays promo and delicious home-made croissants and capps for our mornings. Love to have it enjoyed both, with Emilie, during our breakfast and our late-night, cathartic sessions at night. I miss you, amiga!  Detour  G/F, Shop A, 35-37 First Street
Tumblr media
The warmth welcome everyone was expecting. One of the last coffee shops opened until “late” - let’s say 5pm, that greeted me as soon as I landed. The perfect chocolate sprinkles over it were the unique touch that make Detour stand out from the rest. It’s a tiny, slim corridor that serves pretty tasty sandwiches and offers a complete coffee service, turning it into a homey and neighborhood-friendly coffeeshop. Cupping Room  299 Queen's Road Central
Tumblr media
The Cupping Room has multiple locations, and this one was on the edge in between Sai Ying Pun, Sheung Wan and borderline Central, very close to Man Mo Temple. I went there trying to write, but without much success since, even though the place was wonderful and the music was on point, it was a little bit crowded and the food I ordered required both of my hands to be available to dig it (great problem to have!). Later on, I had to go to the office so I couldn’t stay long enough to actually type some meaningful lines. But, my best recommendation, is for you to try it yourself! Halfway Coffee 2 Tung St
Tumblr media
Ok, here I’m cheating: strictly, this is not Sai Ying Pun, it’s Sheun Wan, but equally gorgeous. This cafe is hidden in the Artists and Flea Market alley.  Seriously, you may miss it if you don’t seek for it paying close attention. Also, it is located super close to Man Mo Temple and right next to the Man Mo dumpling place. Their prosciutto croissants are toasted perfectly and match the soy cappuccino they made. I was by myself, since I went early in the morning when they -and the flea market- was just about to open, so it was a great, solo self indulgence, with all the place for myself.  The Winery Kitchen + Bar Shops 8 & 9, Kwan Yick Building Phase 3, 158A Connaught Road West
Tumblr media
Another unbelievable finding of Mau. I ended up going twice or thrice: (so I guess that we already know where I’m staying next time I visit HK...) for brunch with Emilie, Mau and Emma, probably once by myself to have breakfast and during the very last day to take advantage of the happy hour and of the avocado sushi rolls that looked so good during my scrambled spinach brunch. The decor is as good as its menu, the juices are freshly squeezed and there’s a major tribute to David Bowie on the restrooms. Could you ask for more? I don’t think so. Hong Kong is amazing, Sai Ying Pun just proves it.

Shrimp, Crawfish, And Corn Stew.
Tumblr media
Hello everybody, hope you're having an incredible day today. Today, I will show you a way to prepare a special dish, shrimp, crawfish, and corn stew. One of my favorites. For mine, I am going to make it a little bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.
Shrimp, Crawfish, And Corn Stew is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is simple, it's quick, it tastes yummy. It is appreciated by millions daily. They're nice and they look wonderful. Shrimp, Crawfish, And Corn Stew is something that I have loved my whole life.
To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can have shrimp, crawfish, and corn stew using 11 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you cook that.
The ingredients needed to make Shrimp, Crawfish, And Corn Stew:
{Prepare 4 packages of 4 bags of already peeled frozen shrimp, if its shrimp season get ya 3lbs of boiled shrimp bcuz those shrimp will b significantly larger.
{Take 2 of 2 packs of frozen, already cooked & peeled crawfish or 2 lbs of boiled crawfish (again, only if it's crawfish season...btw "shrimp/crawfish season" only applies 2 my fellow Cajun folk).
{Get 10 each of 8-10 stalks fresh corn, shucked.
{Prepare 1 large of family size can cream of mushroom soup.
{Take 1 of regular size can cream of shrimp soup (if no cream of shrimp available, cream of chicken is fine).
{Take 1 cup of half n half or heavy whipping cream.
{Get 1 cup of Milk.
{Prepare 1 of Blend of 1 chopped onion, 3 stalks chopped celery, 1 chopped green bell pepper and 1 chopped red bell pepper. They sell this blend already prepared/ pre-chopped in some grocery stores..
{Prepare 2 tbsp of olive oil, extra virgin.
{Prepare 1 of Crab boil liquid seasoning (equivalent of Old Bay seasoning in northern states) to taste.
{Take 1 of Salt/pepper or local spice blend to taste (Tony Chachere's is my blend of choice).
Steps to make Shrimp, Crawfish, And Corn Stew:
In blender, blend half of shucked corn w cup of half n half/heavy whipping cream. Add some seasoning 2 taste and blend until smooth. Consistency will b thick. Reserve remaining unblended corn to add in later..
Add olive oil to hot deep stock pot and toss in chopped onion blend. Stir around until mix begins turning translucent. This process is termed "sweating" by local chefs. Releases amazing flavors and juices from veggies. As ur sweating ur blend add some seasoning to it as u go....
Next add peeled and thawed shrimp. Stir those around a few mins until they start 2 turn pink..
Add corn/half n half blend to pot along w both cans of soup. This mixture will b thick. Incorporate all content..
Add milk here to thin out mixture. I said use about a cup of milk but add gradually until u get 2 desired consistency. U may want more than 1 cup if u prefer it thinner or less than a cup if u want it more hearty..
Add cooked/peeled/thawed crawfish and remaining whole corn kernels to pot, stir in..
Now comes the fun!!! Season that thang up 2 ur liking w about a tablespoon of liquid crab boil or old bay... be VERY VERY careful on this step cuz that crap is super hot so take it slow...add it gradually until u get desired heat. Then add more salt/pepper or spice blend to taste..
Stir everything together well one good time then cover w lid and let it simmer on low heat for about 15-20 mins..
Serve over steamed rice to eat it as a stew or by itself w/ some toasted & buttered french bread, croissant, or side salad bcuz it's yummy & filling enough 2 eat as a soup!!!.
.
.
So that is going to wrap it up with this special food shrimp, crawfish, and corn stew recipe. Thanks so much for your time. I am confident that you will make this at home. There is gonna be more interesting food in home recipes coming up. Remember to bookmark this page in your browser, and share it to your loved ones, colleague and friends. Thanks again for reading. Go on get cooking!

A friend and I recently took a long weekend trip to Austin, TX. This city is amazing & I cannot wait to go back! Below is the list of where we stayed, what we did and the places we ate and drank.
Skyline
“Let me tell you a secret”
Sunset
Capital
STAY
We stayed at the Club Wyndham Austin and our little studio was perfect. The hospitality at this place had was beyond expectations. From the moment we checked in, everyone was super friendly and very attentive. I would highly recommend staying here if you find yourself planning a trip to Austin, Texas. The club is equipped with a 24-hour gym, a pool and BBQ grills in case you want to stay in for the night and cook. This resort is also a 5-minute walk to 6th Street where you’ll find so many great bars and lounges.
EAT
We ate and drank our way through Austin. There were a few spots that we didn’t get a chance to try but there’s always next time. Here are a few of our favorites:
Walton’s Fancy and Staple
Cafe no se
Elizabeth Street Cafe
Elizabeth Street Cafe – this cute little cafe is located on the corner of South 1st Street and Elizabeth Street. We had brunch here and the food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were equally as tasty! Some things to try are the ginger sausage & poached eggs, the breakfast Báhn mì – it is HUUUGE, and the green mango & cucumber salad.
Magnolia Cafe – if you’re looking for some late-night Tex-Mex or some savory breakfast sandwiches or omelets before calling it a night, then this is your spot. They’re open 24 hours and they have quick service.
Café No Sé – This Café is located inside the South Congress Hotel. They serve seasonal dishes and offer weekend brunch. We stopped here for some brunch and we had the blueberry violet kouign amann, the quinoa bowl, and the avocado toast.
Walton’s Fancy & Staple – what started off 50 years ago as a flower shop and nursery is now a chic deli co-owned by Sandra Bullock. Of course, they still sell fresh flowers and succulents but the food is why we came here. It was located right by our hotel and the food was so good. Compared to our other breakfast spots, this place was cheap and quick. Definitely give it a try! You cannot go wrong with their avocado toast or their “Staple Breakfast” and of course they have some really good coffee.
Sway – we came here for dinner since as it was a highly recommended Thai restaurant by a friend of mine.  This is such a cute, romantic place with family-style seating. The service was a bit slow but other than that the food was very tasty. They recommended we shared plates but because I don’t eat meat, my friend and I got our own meals. We did share a the banana split and it was to die for!
Italic – this cute little Italian restaurant had some of the best pizza I’ve tried. It is a short walk from the Capital so we came here after our visit there. We ordered a bottle of wine that we later took with us on the boat ride to watch the bats. (In case you didn’t notice, I wrote everything in italic since that’s the name of the restaurant haha.. you see what I did there!)
Terry Blacks – this is the place to go if you want to have some BBQ! We thought about going to the famous Franklin Barbecue however since we were pressed on time, we didn’t want to wait in line for nearly three hours BUT if you have time to wait, then you should definitely give Franklin Barbecue a try.
DRINK
We bar hopped on Saturday night and we also stopped at a few coffee shops throughout our trip to grab a quick cup of coffee, so here’s a list of a few places you should try:
Holding my cup of Jo
Italic
June’s, Jo’s Coffee – make sure you take a picture with the “I love you so much” mural, Juan Pelota Café, Green Light Social, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Icehouse, Pop, Bufford’s, and basically every bar on Rainey Street.
THINGS TO DO
Bats
UMLAUF
The Capital
Barton Springs Pool
“Greetings from Austin”
UMLAUF – this is an outdoor sculpture garden exhibiting Charles Umlauf’s works. They’re open Tuesday through Sunday but they close at 4pm so I would suggest this making it an afternoon activity.
Barton Spring Municipal Pool – this outdoor natural spring stays at 68º Fahrenheit all year round so it is a perfect place to take a dip and cool down. Admission was only $9 per person.
Lady Bird Lake – we rented a kayak from Rowing Dock and we explored Lady Bird Lake. It was such a beautiful and peaceful thing to do. We also did a sunset cruise Bat tour. We booked our tour through Lone Star – they were so amazing! If you book a tour through them, I highly recommend getting there at least 45 minutes before the boat leaves so that you can get a nice seat. Also, make sure to BYOB!!
The Continental Club– I don’t think our visit to Austin would have been complete if we didn’t watch a live band. After much research, we finally settled on the legendary Continental Club. They have a band performing every day so be sure to check out their events page to see who’s playing.
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you’ve been to Austin or if you live there, let me know what places to visit next time…

food i’ll miss the most in RVA
Hi guys! This is almost more of a post for myself to think back and remember all the delicious cuisine in Richmond that I won’t be able to readily access anymore. As my last month here creeps up on me, I’ve been thinking more and more about how much I’ve grown to love this little “river” city. It’s only apt that I’m taking an archaeology class about Richmond in my last semester as it only reminds me yet again about how rich in culture this place is. Of course, I’m still thrilled to head back to Ohio (or maybe Philly if the interviews went well?), but I think I’ll always be willing to visit Richmond in the future and show my future friends around this adorable place :) ok, but on to the food (not ranked in order of best or anything just places I absolutely adore):
1) Huynh’s now turned Vietnam One Vermicelli with Tofu & Spring Roll - ok so most people have tried this popular Viet dish but I’ve tried at least like 10 of these from diff. places and nothing beats the dish at Vietnam One here. It’s the TOFU. It’s seasoned and cooked to perfection; crispy on outside and soft on the inside and bursting with flavor (as opposed to a lot of other places that have pretty bland fried tofu). Honestly I could just eat the tofu and be pleased. So many memories and probably 50+ trips to this place with my apt., definitely forever going to be in our hearts.
2) Jack Brown’s BBQ chips with mac n cheese burger - only like $6, 5 minutes from my school, juiciest homemade patty, amazing pairing of creamy mac n cheese with crispy chip pieces, and all served with the most refreshing pickle. UGH I WANT IT NOW.
3) Frank West’s Pizzeria Cheese Pizza - omgomgomg so everyone here likes Christian’s which is a NY style thin crust heavy cheese pizza and also fairly good but Frank West’s is even better though less known! A local here showed it to me and I’ve been in love ever since. Crust is on a thinner side but not crazy thin, generous amounts of sauce which I love, and the cheese is speckled with some kind of seasoning that is perfection.
4) Peter Chang’s Dry Fried Eggplant - so there isn’t much Chinese food here to rave about due to the heavily viet but low chinese population in rva but they at least boast one authentic szechuan place (though hong kong house in cbus is def better) STILL they have this standout eggplant dish here that I’ve never seen elsewhere. It’s fried eggplant “fries” seasoned in szechuan flavors/cilantro and it isn’t greasy b/c it is dry fried rather than deep fried. AMAZING alternative to fries!
5) Sugar Shack Donuts esp. lemon poppyseed and strawberry lemon - ok so RVA is KNOWN for donuts and for good reason. Sugar shack has been ranked in national magazines/food blogs all the time and it has literally the yummiest donuts I’ve ever had. Coming from cbus where donuts is just Krispy Kreme, I truly can say I’ve never known anything better existed. Sugar shack is like a bigger, better krispy kreme. It doesn’t melt away in your mouth in seconds like krispy kreme but it is still so fluffy and airy inside like lightweight bakery bread almost. Planning on bringing a dozen of these home after graduation!
6) Bombolini Pasta - a little place in Carytown that has really authentic pasta and delicious sauces, as well as a bunch of homemade frozen ravioli you can buy and cook later at home. I love that the noodles here are never overcooked, like true pasta should be served :)
7) Honey Truffle Fries and Salt n Pepper Fries with Garlic Aioli at Postbellum - this place has a cute little rooftop bar and the most amazing thin fries!!! honey + truffle oil topped with shaved parmesan - could there be a better combo?! The only fries I like better than here are the crispy BonChon ones but BonChon can be found outside of RVA too!
8) Social 52 Crab Dip with Pita - I’ve never had better crab dip, or maybe I was just really drunk xD this bar does have a ton of tasty fusion style apps though!
9) Toast Sweet Potato Tater Tots - a gastropub right beside my school that often rotates out some really unique fusion style dishes (kimchi aiolis and shiz like that) but we always come back to their staple side dish, the sweet potato tots. MMMMMM mmm mm! People make sweet potato fries all the time, but tots? wowzaa
10) Gelati Celesti Chocolate Decadence - hands down the creamiest, thickest, chocolateyest cold creamy gelato goodness you’ll ever try!
11) Noorani’s Gobi Manchurian, Chicken 65, Egg biryani, and Seekh Kabab - omg I could go on and on about this place forever. Yes your stomach will rebel against you the following day but it is worth the later pain hahaha. I just LOVE their gobi manchurian (fried cauliflower tossed in an indo-chinese sauce), they have the most well-spiced chicken 65 ever, biryani is on the wetter side which I LOVE, and mmm the seekh kabob is served in the most amazing sauce with sliced ginger and it’s just like pakistani heaven!!! It breaks my heart thinking about how much I’ll miss this place :’( even though service is crap, food is always delicious.
12) Zzzaaaam bibimbap bowls - this place is like a korean chipotle but it has every topping you’d ever want in your bibimbap at extremely reasonable prices, with a variety of super tasty sauce combos and topped with sesame oil drizzle. I always feel fairly healthy eating here too which is a bonus :)
13) New Grand Market Cafe’s Jajungmyeon with Tangsooyuk = ehrmygawd this is the most amazing combination ever created!! Tasty hot noodles in black bean seafood sauce paired with crispy sweet & sour pork & bell peppers/onions = heaven on earth; place is also a supermarket so you can stock up on asian snacks while you’re here!
14) Chadar Thai’s Drunken Noodles and Curry Fried Rice - the best Thai place in this city. Ignore the overpriced and underwhelming Carytown places (thai diner, mom’s siam, ginger thai, thai top ten, elephant thai, thai palace, etc) and come here! Definitely the BEST and most flavorful thai place around!! Their drunken noodles are UNBEATABLE and yes I’ve tried like 7 other places so I would know lololol
15) Shyndigz Fruit Cake and Key Lime Pie - this place is the cutest little date dessert spot!! they have christmas lights everywhere indoor and outdoors and just the cutest little southern belle/rustic theme; grab a slice of their super moist and fresh fruitcake or absolutely perfectly tart key lime pie with the tastiest crust with your girls or a boo thang and enjoy it under the christmas light warm glow!! you’ll 100% have a night to remember :)
16) Plaza Azteca burritos/enchiladas - so I’m not a huge fan of Mexican because I find a lot of the dishes bland but this place is diff. and they believe in heavy use of sauces/queso which I LOVEEEE. the free nachos/salsa they give are amazing (super thin crispy nachos and the smoothest/freshest salsa), made to order guac is perfect!!, and any of their burritos/enchiladas are bound to be completely covered in sauce and other drizzles and also laying in like a literal pool of more sauce so ohmygoodness yes I’m a big fan
17) Burger Bach New Zealand Burgers - def on the costlier side but comes with a side of fancy salad w like arugula and shiz not just iceberg lettuce and a bunch of creative dips for your fries; burger is also bigger and more flavorful than at Jack Brown’s but Jack beats this place based on price and bun and size and convenience and that freaking pickle ... lol burger bach to jack browns is like shake shack to in-n-out ... one is obvs more expensive and better in quality but the other is unique in taste and affordable sooooooo ya just love BOTH!
18) Mama J’s Southern Kitchen - if you want real soul food this is where its at; here is the only place I like collard greens and they have the sweetest yams and amazing catfish (only place better was in new orleans!) and these freaking awesome wings you must ask for tossed in something called Edy’s sauce. not even sure wtf is in that sauce but it’s bliss
19) Addis Kitchen’s Injera - have you tried ethiopian bread before?? liz and I came across this place when we went to a lackluster italian festival and still needed more food and tried injera for the first time. it was delicious!! it’s a sour, spongey bread that isn’t heavy at all you could literally eat it for ages and just paired amazingly with their veggie/meat dishes which remind me of indian curries a bit. def an experience i’d recommend!
20) Foo Dog’s Fried Tofu and Malaysian Ramen - ok so this place is no fukuryu but the coconut based lemongrass soup is really tasty (noodles need work) and their fried tofu app is deliciously stuffed with a bunch of flavorful veggies and sauces and if you want some bao sandwiches/asian street food combos this is def a good place!
21) Continental Westhampton’s Poutine Fries - omggg this plate of fries is not only covered in gravy but also scallions and an EGG and cheese and if this isn’t your idea of dream loaded fries idk what is
22) Galaxy Diner Malt Shakes and Pickle Chips - so this diner serves breakfast all day and is perfect for post drinking food binges that will do major damage to your waistline but all the greasy foods are just okay in my opnion; really not a standout place except for the funky atmosphere/lighting and one particularly spectacular drink: their malt shakes!!!!!! enough said
23) Don’t Look Back Fish Tacos (traditional style) and Chorizo tacos (gringo style) - it’s not quite LA street taco quality but it’s about as good as it gets around here!
24) Cookout banana shake, chili cheese dogs, chicken nugs, cheese fries, and onion rings - a late night drive through that has everything you’d ever want at 2am in the morning at dollar prices. how perf is this?
There’s probably places I’m forgetting (as you can tell I’ve eaten out a LOT in college hahahhaa) so I’ll try to keep updating this but for now, these are the places that will always have a special place in my heart and that I highly recommend you trying if you’re ever heading to VA beach and feel compelled to stop by adorably historic and tasty Richmond!

Type of eggs and styles of egg cooking 15 methods

Type of eggs and styles of egg cooking 15 methods
How many egg types do you know? There are different types of eggs, the best dishes that supplies the body with healthy fats and protein. They are very cheap and can be stored in a refrigerator for a longer time compared to other dishes. According to a study, eating different types of eggs can help one lose weight because each egg contains only 75 calories but with 7 grams of protein, which satisfy and satiate hunger. In addition, one egg has just 5 grams of fat and provide the body with iron, minerals, and vitamins. Besides, they have a medical advantage as they contain carotenoids that help the body fight diseases. These carotenoids include zeaxanthin and lutein, which can lower macular degeneration risk, the leading cause of old age blindness. With these benefits, you may think of starting to have different egg types daily for breakfast. But having such a diet every day doesn’t sound like a fun thing. To help you add variety to your cooking style, we discuss eggs cooking types in this article.
1.Hard Boiled
Tumblr media
Starting off in our list is the common type of egg cooking. A hard boiled egg is cooked in hot boiling water in its shell. The term “hard” refers to the evenness of the albumen or egg white and the yolk. This approach is quite simple. Fill a pot with water, making sure it is enough to cover your eggs by at least two inches. Boil the water and then carefully place in the eggs and leave them in boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. Peeling a boiled egg can be painful, and to avoid this, immediately place the eggs in cold water after boiling. Alternatively, you can buy your eggs a week before cooking and peel immediately after cooking or add to the boiling water a teaspoon of baking soda to soften the shells. Hard boiled eggs can be served along with a sprinkle of kosher salt, or with salad toppings.
2. Soft Boiled
Tumblr media
To  prepare this e g g ty p e, follo w th e sa m e ste ps as th e h a r d b oile d o ptio n disc usse d. H o w e v e r, inste a d o f 12 min utes b oil it fo r 6 min utes. T h e r esult o f this is a cooked egg white and a runny yolk. Boil water in a pot then gently drop in the eggs and set a timer for exactly six minutes. Remove the eggs and place them in an ice cold water. Instead of going through the trouble of peeling, soft boiled eggs can be eaten in the shell. Just stood an egg upright in an egg cup, gently tap the top using a teaspoon and scoop out the insides. Soft boiled eggs can be used for toast or dipped in a thick bean soup
4. Hard scrambled
Tumblr media
Scrambled eggs are most of the time made by accident. Think of the many times you dropped an egg and then just mix them up on a pan. Scrambled means the egg whites and yolks are broken and mixed. The default preparing of scrambled eggs is cooking all of them through. To add that extra fluffiness, add a half cup cottage cheese per two eggs before pouring into the pan. When your scramble egg is ready, add cheese or your favorite veggies to spice it up.
5. Soft scrambled
Tumblr media
If you find hard scrambled eggs dangerously dry, try soft scrambled eggs. There is not much difference between these egg dishes and hard ones except for the cooking time. To have soft scrambled eggs you need to be extra vigilant because eggs cook very quickly. Break your eggs using a spoon in a bowl. Heat the pan to medium and grease it. Pour your mixed eggs in and get ready to repeatedly fold them as they cook. Keep in mind that when the eggs spread too thin, they will overcook quickly. For this reason, be careful to prevent them from spreading out to the sides of the pan. Keep folding them until they are no longer runny but still wet. Remove them from the heat immediately, by this I mean from the hot pan. Soft scrambled eggs are perfect on buttered toast, sprinkled with pepper and salt.
 6. “Perfect” Scrambled Eggs
Tumblr media
These types of eggs are creamy and softer than soft scrambled eggs. Whip your eggs and drop them into a pan over moderate heat, add one thin pat of butter for every egg. Using a spatula, start stirring, break the yolks and allow them to mix with egg whites and butter. Keep stirring as you observe the heat, lift off the pan from the heat briefly if it gets too hot. Keep stirring for about 4 or 5 minutes to the point where they come together. Right before taking them off the heat, add crème Fraiche, milk or sour cream and stir. Remove the eggs from the heat and ladle them onto toast. Sprinkle with green onion, chive or dill or salt and pepper. There you go! The creamiest and softest scrambled eggs you’ve ever tested.
7. Omelet
Tumblr media
Making omelets is not only easy but also one of the best egg cooking types. It can take you a few tries for you to perfect the technique of making omelets. Making an omelet is like making scrambled eggs except that with an omelet,  the eggs are left to cook until they stabilized into a shape and then topped with favorite ingredients such as meats, vegetables or cheese.
 8. Scrambles and Hashes
Tumblr media
Preparing scrambles is super easy. When eggs are prepared in a scramble, it simply means that other ingredients are scrambled with the eggs in the pan. These ingredients can be cheese, meats, diced potatoes, hot dogs or sautéed veggies.
9. Baked Eggs
Tumblr media
If you have had enough frying eggs, baking provides a suitable alternative, which involves some basic steps. Coat a baking dish with a nonstick spray and then crack your eggs and pour them in. sprinkle pepper or other seasonings of your choice on top and pour a tablespoon of milk or water over the eggs. Bake them in 325 degrees F for about 12 minutes until the egg whites are set. You can spice your baked eggs with toppings such as salsa, cooked spinach, chopped tomato or shredded cheese.
10. Sunny Side Up Eggs
The tricky part about making a Sunny Side Up eggs is that the yolk tends to run too much. If you are not comfortable with the stove, you can make them in a skillet in the oven. Crack the eggs and then place them in a 350 degrees F oven for about 4 minutes. If you are using the stove, just fry them in a pan without flipping to allow for a runny yolk.
 11. Over Easy
Tumblr media
Cooking Over Easy is similar to Sunny Side Up, but the difference is flipping Sunny Side Up to get Over Easy. The “easy” in the name doesn’t, however, implies the simplicity of cooking but rather the state of the egg yolk.
12. Over Medium
Over medium is the next step after over easy. The eggs are fried, flipped and then fried some more to ensure the egg whites are cook and brown edges are formed. The yolk will still be runny but on top, a thick film will develop so that you can have a dipping quality.
 13. Over Hard
The last step of cooking, over eggs. In over hard, the eggs are fried, flipped, and fried some more with the yolk smashed. The eggs are fried until the egg whites and the egg yolk are cooked completely. Before flipping, poke them with a fork or the edge of a spatula. Flip cautiously to avoid dripping the yolk.
 14. Basted Eggs
Tumblr media
Basted eggs are cooked using thoroughly steam or liquid without flipping. When using butter, scoop repeatedly the extra butter and pour it on top of the eggs. This allows the yolk and the egg whites to cook without the need to flip it. Alternatively, grease the pan and then squirt some water then cover the eggs with a lid to steam-cooked the eggs.
15. Zucchini
Tumblr media
Fritters Here is another fantastic egg cooking types. All you need is just four ingredients and you are good to go. They include 3 eggs, 2 zucchini, 2 garlic cloves, and 1 cup of breadcrumbs. To make zucchini fritters, whip 2 eggs in a large bowl, and grate zucchini into the bowl containing eggs, add garlic and breadcrumbs and stir the whole mixture using a spoon. Firm up the mixture by placing it in the refrigerator for about a half hour. Make patties out of the mixture using your hands. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil of your choice in a skillet over a medium to high heat. Cook patties until they turn golden brown on both sides. Lastly, fry the remaining egg in the skillet and serve it with the zucchini patties.
Other Style of Egg Dish
 16. Italian-Styled Egg Bruschetta
Tumblr media
Start your meal with a nice piece of bruschetta. Traditionally, bruschetta is made by rubbing slices of grilled bread with garlic and then topped with chopped tomatoes, salt, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. But to take it to the next level, add hard-boiled eggs, arugula, and roasted peppers.Add zucchini to this traditional shakshuka and you get a super vegetarian supper. To add a tasty twist, serve each piece on a big slice of bread for egg yolks and tomato liquid to sop up. Besides, you can have any leftover sauce on top of the scrambled eggs or better yet, toss with pasta. Read the full article

Everything I Want to Eat in New York
New Post has been published on https://www.claritymakeupartistry.com/everything-i-want-to-eat-in-new-york/
Everything I Want to Eat in New York
Photo: Jens Ingvarsson. Style: Jamie Frankel. Hair: Jasmine Reed. Makeup: Ashleigh Ciucci.
In New York, there’s an urban legend of a single city-dweller with so little closet space she’s forced to store her sweaters in the stove. A slight exaggeration, yes, but it’s not the furthest from the truth. New Yorkers do have a reputation for rarely setting foot in their kitchens, but who can blame them when the city offers such a dizzying array of cuisines.
One New Yorker finding her bliss in the city is Jordan Boswell. Born in Southern California, raised in New Jersey and having attended college in Los Angeles, Jordan spent her early life crisscrossing coasts before moving to New York in 2016. Now settled in the East Village, she is a community manager for SheKnows Media by day and can be found delighting in the best bites the city has to offer by night. In her hunt for the best bagels, burgers, pizza, pasta, tacos and dim sum, she’s found a pretty brilliant way to explore other cultures in the city she now calls home.
We got Jordan to share her must-try restaurants, the weirdest thing she’s ever eaten, what’s on her NYC food bucket list and why she feels no shame in embracing the term “foodie.” Read on for how this new New Yorker enjoys life one bite at a time.
STYLECASTER: Let’s dive right in — what are your favorite foods? Jordan Boswell: This is such a toughie, because I love foods from all different cuisines as long as it’s done well. But definitely at the top of the list are sushi, New York pizza and bagels, poke bowls and anything with truffles! And can’t forget the Fedora Burger from Bar Sardine. It’s unreal — if it were up to me, I’d indulge in that every day!
SC: Besides superior pizza and bagels, what’s your favorite thing about the food scene in New York? JB: The diversity of cuisines here is amazing — there’s options for any craving. If I’m craving dim sum, I can go to Chinatown for authentic soup dumplings. Or I go to an an amazing Chinese spot in the West Village that’s my current favorite underrated gem.
SC: What’s your all-time favorite NYC restaurant? JB: Buddakan is probably my absolute favorite. It is definitely one to be saved for a special occasion, but the food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is unbelievably cool. If you go here, you need to order the short rib scallion pancakes and edamame dumplings — they’re both sublime.
SC: New Yorkers have a rep for eating out a lot. Tell us the truth, when was the last time you turned on your stove? JB: I really do try to cook at home! At the very least I like to make my lunches for the week. Let’s see, the last time I turned on my stove was probably last Wednesday — so over a week ago? Oops.
Photo: Jens Ingvarsson. Style: Jamie Frankel. Hair: Jasmine Reed. Makeup: Ashleigh Ciucci.
SC: How do you find inspiring recipes when you’re cooking at home? JB: I usually head to Epicurious or Bon Appétit, and plug in the ingredients I have around my apartment and can usually find a great one. I also have a cookbook of family recipes I’ll go through in a pinch.
SC: Okay, so what do you love to cook at home that feels fancy, but is actually super simple? JB: My favorite weeknight meal is this super-easy pasta my college roommate showed me. It’s made with spaghetti, olive oil, beaten egg, oregano, salt and red pepper flakes. Feels way more refined than it is!
My go-to make-ahead lunch is inspired by a dish from one of my favorite L.A. spots Zinqué. It’s a brown rice bowl with grilled chicken, cherry tomatoes, onions, avocado, arugula, lemon, salt, garlic powder and sriracha aioli. You can make a bunch in advance, and it’s SO tasty. A lifesaver on days you don’t want to turn on the stove!
SC: How did you develop an adventurous attitude toward food? JB: I’m lucky to have a father who went to culinary school and a mother who owned her own catering company, so my parents definitely raised me to both appreciate good food and be excited to try new foods at any opportunity. I’m the opposite of a picky eater — I love trying new things. Even if you don’t like it, you can at least say you know for certain that you don’t. Expanding your culinary horizons is one of the greatest joys in life, not only for a tasty meal but also to experience a new culture or dining experience.
SC: Be honest — what are your feelings about the word “foodie”? JB: I don’t hate the term foodie! I know it gets a bad rap and is associated with millennials and our pretentious “rather eat avocado toast than buy a house” mentality, but I think there needed to be a word for the modern-day epicurean and “foodie” covers it. I would definitely say I’m a foodie.
SC: So, what foods are on your NYC food bucket list? JB: So many things! But definitely the elusive and scarce burger from Raouls — it only serves a handful each night — , chocolate chip cookie shot from Dominique Ansel and Bee Sting Pizza from Roberta’s.
SC: Complete this sentence: You aren’t a true New Yorker until you’ve tried… JB: A TRUE New York bagel! My favorite is an everything bagel with lox spread, capers, onions and tomatoes.
SC: Finally, how would you sum up your philosophy on food? JB: Simply put, life is too short to not eat good food.

Sitting outside and watching the Gastown evening crowd relax as they walked by is calming in itself.
Customers immediately love this place because of its minimalist decor - warehouse style. That is a great introduction and get customers' taste buds going thinking that the food will be great. The restaurant's Truffle Roast Beef sandwich is possibly the best sandwich you will eat in Vancouver. The Greedy Pig restaurant's food is insanely good. The sandwiches are massive and packed with fresh ingredients, and the "grilled cheese" is a revelation: melted cheese and tomatoes on toast.
The restaurant's atmosphere is lively, cozy, and under control with pleasant waitstaff; Sometimes, a live band is playing. It is enjoyable to listen to music and watch the patrons sing along.
