An excerpt from the upcoming chapter of Stars

All things considered, mused Colonel Nomura of the Devastation Battalion of the redubbed Martyr Army, it had been quite a beautiful war. Villages burned, comfort women meeting the needs of the hard-working boys in the ranks of the glorious Fire Nation Army. They had been called upon to fight the hard fights. Not the middling to incompetent forces any Fire Nation unit had greater than equal chances of smashing. The elite of the elite.

So when they saw the strange gleaming light at the side of the road they were not soldiers who would have taken fright at some phantom summoned from the spirit world. It was the Summer Solstice, such things happened at these times. Nor were they surprised when a figure stepped from it with long flowing red and golden hair, at first. She was beautiful, inhumanly so and there were little things about her that gave a sign of not being truly human where it counted. Ageless flesh where the pigmentation was wrong, where the muscles moved with an audible power and yet......

Then the figure smiled.

There was a blinding flash of light and a great dome, a crater, carved in the ground beneath her and the ground shook and now even his legions almost wavered for a moment. They were marching to join the Marauder Army, in preparation for the final stages of the march on the Kingdom of Yi.

Where a girl in a white dress with long flowing hair had stood, now there was a figure in bright golden armor, a sadistic smile marring the ethereally pretty face. She tiled her head and the words that passed her lips did not match what they heard.

"Excellent," she purred with a low and throaty voice. "I get to face no mere weak force. This is a battalion."

She drew a blade, as long as a man was tall and it did not seem absurdly oversized in a thin-seeming waif of a girl's arms.

"This won't be boring though it won't be a challenge."

Holding the blade in her right hand she gestured with her left as light grew around a bracelet.

By then the troops were wheeling from column to line of battle, fires blazing and a great wall of flame summoned to protect them.

Galactica Super String.

Two words in the tongue of the Fire Nation, and then light blazed brilliant and terrible. The Firebending wall shattered in a burst of deafening noise and then she lunged at the force with a bewildering speed and power.

Five degrees later, sheened in gore and spitting on the severed head of the general who'd tried to direct his troops in preparation to attack something equal in power Galaxia gave a feral and wicked grin. There was opportunity here, new games to play. A whole new universe that knew nothing of her, or of Senshi.....or perhaps even of Chaos itself.

During the Silver Millennium, Sailor Jupiter commanded a small legion of super soldiers called the Jupiter Trojans. They weren't sailor senshi but had special star seeds like Luna, Artemis, and Diana. They were often referred to as Jupiter's little brothers.  Ittou Asanuma is one of the reincarnations of the Jupiter Trojans.

WIP for Makoto kino aka Queen Jupiter

Is the third to gain her millennium Device right after Mercury.

She is No longer the sailor Senshi of jupiter. Instead she is it mage and calls herself Queen Jupiter

Her Device is called JLHSDIGSCMQPS (Jupiter,Legion,Holy, Self,Defense,Intelligent, Genereal, Sparkling, Crystal, Mega,Queen, Protector, System) which has a serious English Male Voice that sounds like Frank welker

She calls JLHSDIGSCMQPS for Sigma in short.

Her container for Sigma is the Jupiter oak wreath which she activates by putting it her head.

When she regains her true memories of the silver millennium her personality change a little.

She turns more serious, more mature and more caring of her friends when she remebered of how she was like a Big sister for them and how they loved her under silver millennium.

She like Ami also understand Usagi much more and helps her with cooking healthier But still tasty food.

Makoto works best with Rei because of both being short and long ranged battle mages. Later on she also work together with Haruka During the Infinity arc.

Her past name was Queen Nike of the Jupiter empire.

Her Magic are over the nature like from destructive storms to life bringning flora. She like Rei are queens which makes them stronger. So Makoto has also Power pure light which makes her one of the most dangerous mages of the team.

Her barrier jacket is based on greek armor, Smite, heavenly warrior and honorable hero.

Sigma has four forms which is a halberd, beam dagger, scepter staff and shooter mode. Later gets a upgrade it to gauntlet form.

Makoto suprises the team when she shows she is not only good fighting hand to hand combat, But also with staffs and dagger.

But she needs to help fighting in long range and aim her spells.

When they meet the outer for the first time the outers really understimated Makoto and inner Senshi and got the beating of their lives.

And that is Why you shall never be mean at the inner mages when Big sister Makoto is watching.

HOROSHIBA HORRIFICA: A Horror themed Magical Girl property

Synopsis: Nera Valakuzo is not the most skilled of the Witch Apprentices in the city of Horoshiba. She’s barely able to ride her broom, she gets easily confused when trying to remember the right incantations and her natural clumsiness makes her potion making skills something to be desired. But her eagerness to learn and Can Do spirit more than makes up for that.

But it isn’t until she accidentally finds the most forbidden tome in Witch Society’s library that she learns that she’ll need more than just motivation. Because when an ancient prophecy is fulfilled, she will need the power of the Horrifica Magnificarum and some new friends to stop the powerful evil that she accidentally released before it takes over the world!

Background: Growing up, I had a lot of things I was really into. Horror is easily my most obvious fandom, as I still try to create things in that genre to this day. But when it came to anime, I was actually a fan of a genre that most boys (particularly straight boys like myself) were always told by others our own age that we’re not supposed to like: Magical Girls. Magic Knight Rayearth needs to be treated with more fondness, Creamy Mami was a bittersweet show, and Sailor Moon was always awesome, To this day, I still say that both Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter are Best Senshi. And I still say that if you want to know about what modern anime’s like, you have to watch certain shows: K-On! for Moe for example, Evangelion for melodrama, and most importantly for this project, PRETTY CURE for how modern shows handle character empowerment.

Pretty Cure is easily one of the best Anime franchises NO ONE here in the United States cares to think or really even talk about. Cute girls in costumes kicking bad guy butt? Come on! That’s like saying “here’s a great pizza from your favorite pizza place, and I’ve got your favorite ice cream for dessert”. It’s just something that most Anime fans would not turn down in a heartbeat. And then on top of that, you add “Oh yeah, and they’re played like actual superheroes and not just poseable dolls, with super strength, martial arts skills and the same level of high intensity fight scenes as some of the best Shounen series”?

JESUS CHRIST, WAS THE ONLY THING GETTING IN THE WAY OF THIS SHOW BEING BROUGHT OVER WAS BECAUSE THE HEROES ARE ALL GIRLS?!

Yes, and that’s an absolute shame.

So, after about 30 years of denying my interest in the genre, my heart started telling me “You know, since you’re trying to be honest about things you actually like, maybe you should, you know, be honest about your taste in Anime by working on something you actually love”. And that’s what Horoshiba Horrifica is. My love of two genres: Magical Girls and Horror (because let’s face it, I have to stay on brand for Horror/Fantasy/Sci Fi Weirdness).

So, mixing Pretty Cure with the iconic manga/anime horror property GeGeGe no Kitaro, I reached the blend I wanted that eventually became known as Horoshiba Horrifica.

But enough of me talking about WHY I’m creating H2. What is this series about?

SETTING: Horoshiba Horrifica’s about a Witch Apprentice named Nera Valakuzo that lives in the city of Horoshiba, home to Witches, Demons, Werewolves, Vampires, Phantoms and Humans who, after a millennia of co-habitation, look almost identical to humans except for maybe one or two details. Nera is, for all intents and purposes, a klutzy girl with a thirst for knowledge and more than a little energy. With her Frankenyan familiar, Francesca Nyancy Porohezora (or Poro for short) by her side trying to convince her to stay out of trouble, Nera is unable to turn a good tome down. And after finding out there’s a SECRET book she had never heard about, she goes and gets her hands on it.

It’s not her fault that her finding the tome is part of an Ancient Prophecy. And that said prophecy would unleash the exact Evil Queen that the Unity of Six Dominions has been trying to erase from History for the past 1000 years.

After unleashing the Dark Queen Zarafine back into the world, Nera must now use the power of the Horrifica Magnificarum to find the other descendants of the Heroes of the Unity that trapped Zarafine in the pages of the tome before darkness and ruin falls upon the world again.

THE CHARACTERS: 

-Nera: Klutzy bookworm that is always trying to improve herself. With a bit of a sweet tooth, and more than a little gumption, Nera is always working every day to do better than the day before. As the descendant of the Witch that captured Zarafine, she is the Magical Girl of Light, Horrifica Magi.

-Poro: When every Witch becomes an Apprentice, they receive a familiar. Some receive dogs, others receive regular cats. When it came to Nera, she bungled the procedure so much, she received a Frankenstein amalgamation she gave a really long name to, so everyone calls her Poro. Like all familiars, Poro is able to talk. Unlike most other familiars, Poro can fly and has unusual strength for something her size, being able to carry a full sized adult. Being Nera’s familiar, she is naturally trying to keep her out of trouble, and is more than a little high strung for her efforts.

-Ulya: Calm and collected, the school beauty Ulya is the envy of every other student. Naturally graceful, with some of the highest marks in the school and a legion of fans, Ulya is always the center of attention. Which usually gets in the way of her time with her girlfriend. As the descendant of the Vampire that captured Zarafine, she is the Magical Girl of Night, Horrifica Bram.

-Yagi: Formerly the quiet type, Yagi was the kind of girl who would start off the journey for self improvement in certain anime titles. With an overbearing mother, an overly dramatic sister, and a part-time job at a pet store, Yagi’s schedule is usually filled to the brim on a day to day basis. Imagine her surprise when she’s pulled into the battle against Evil... As the descendant of the Werewolf that captured Zarafine, she is the ferocious Magical Girl of the Wild, Horrifica Howl.

-Vevi: Due to a life of illness, Vevi is not the most athletic of girls, instead choosing a life of books. With dreams of being a writer one day, Vevi voraciously reads any and every book she can get her hands on. Despite seeming dispassionate, the eternally sleepy bookworm can and WILL talk your ear off about any topic (and we do mean ANY topic). As the descendant of the Phantom that captured Zarafine, she is the Magical Girl of Gates, Horrifica Geist.

-Rona: Ever the troublemaker, Rona is the oldest of her siblings but never able to stand out from them. Mischievous and a little antagonistic, the diminutive devil may have a tendency to think or speak before she acts, but never means to actually cause any real harm. As the descendant of the Demon that captured Zarafine, she is the Magical Girl of Fire, Horrifica Inferno.

-Sen: In the same grade as Nera, Sen is the boy that everyone just seems to like. Good grades, good at sports, good at pretty much *EVERYTHING* he sets his mind to, Sen is just competent in every category all around. It’s no wonder that Nera has fallen kinda hard for him. But the eternal thorn in her side in this matter is Sen’s twin sister...

-Yun: Considered the monster of the School, Yun watches over her brother like a hawk in a bid to protect him. If you ask her why, she’ll tell you she doesn’t really know. But no matter what she says, the sadistic smile on her face when she scares people away from him tells you all need to know. But there’s a really good reason why the pair are like this...

-Zarafine: The Dark Queen that was sealed away before. After discovering a means to conquer several realms, she was *THIS CLOSE* to becoming the Lady of Darkness when the Heroes of the Unity put a stop to her plans. Now free once again, she is gathering her power and forces to start a new campaign of terror.

RWBY Character Image Song List 2019

Heyo folks!  It’s the hiatus, so you know what that means--MUSIC TIME!

After a volume ends, I try go through an extensive list of characters in RWBY and pick out various musical themes from my collection for each character as a sort of “image song.”  These are primarily instrumental pieces, and my collection consists of largely anime and videogame soundtracks that I’ve picked up over the years.  The characters are those who were named and appeared in the show, with a couple of unnamed exceptions like Pilot Boi and the Shopkeep, or had a recurrent role in the overarching story like Summer.

Of course, these choices are subjective.  Some may not agree with my choices for certain characters.  However, my selections were based on what’s presented in canon, not any kind of headcanon.  I take into account the character’s history and personality, as well as their personal growth.  If they only appear in one episode, I try to take into account the context of their appearance as well as the small amount of personality presented.

Setsuna is so underrated it's a crime against humanity. She deserves her own spinoff . Maybe one where she ends up as an idol-senshi named "Sailor P" recruited to fight another bad guy legion (obviously with the word Dark in front of their name), but she practically drowns in all the publicity until finally learning to live in the spotlight a bit and be a happier person. TL;DR, Sailor P is my dream arc (especially if Hotaru is a sidekick).

I adore Setsuna almost as much as I love Hotaru, so a spinoff based around Setsuna would be a lot of fun. I don’t think she’d be an idol though - she doesn’t crave attention. If anything, she shuns it and prefers that other people take the spotlight. At most, she’d be a model or fashion designer.

Intending to get back into the Children of the Stars verse:

I deliberately left the last of the Daimon equivalents around, given the Senshi fought that one, to set up the ultimate 'twist' with the appearance of the Thousand Sons. This last Daimon is a case of Gone Horribly Right where Yrvin Heshatani, Lord Pharaoh 90's equivalent in this universe, more or less partially cloned his arch-nemesis and gave her power on par with his own.

Power plenty sufficient to let her don the guise in appearing to the Thousand Sons as Magnus the Red, Sorcerer-King of the Planet of Sorcerers and former Primarch of the loyal Legions of the Emperor of Mankind.

This next arc is the most directly 40K-ish of the entire bunch including elements that set up the distant backstory of the Imperium and providing its shadows over the duels of the Senshi with the elements of the Everchosen bearing down on Earth.

I’ve watched this about ten times, and I’m still not sure I’m getting it entirely right. I SUMMON DOCTOR HOLLIGAY FOR HER EXPERT HARUKA/MICHIRU INSIGHT

I may not have the right of all of it, but there’s a lot happening here on a lot of levels. Follow me as I try to work through it all.

We started with Haruka chiming in on Usagi and Mamoru’s song. She, like Usagi, sings the “Don’t cry dear friends” line. Particularly given her reaction in the scene just a few moments ago, it’s pretty clear she’s feeling shaken in her ability to protect Usagi, and it’s just as clear that it’s something she feels very strongly about. She’s reaffirming that she’ll be there and be good enough, but given what’s we just saw, I think it’s Haruka-style bravado, and she can feel something weak within her (the vampire influence), and she’s afraid that when tested, she’ll fail.

Michiru comes out and joins the song.

I misread the subtitle at first, but with Michiru singing this directly to Haruka after Haruka’s part, I think Michiru’s feeling a little jealous about Usagi right now. Not in the sense that Usagi’s a threat to their relationship, because no. What I’m taking from this is that Michiru has already ... let’s say “allotted” a certain amount of Haruka to not entirely be hers. She knows Haruka takes being a Senshi very seriously, and is extremely protective of her legion of adopted children, and she wouldn’t who Michiru loves, wouldn’t be Haruka, without that. But Michiru is selfish and not especially given to altruism. Right now, Haruka, because she’s afraid of her weakness, is compensating by being ten times more devoted to Usagi, AND MICHIRU KIND OF HATES IT.

Which brings us to the part I actually capped here. Haruka says, “If something happens to me... Before Michiru knows it... I entrust her to you.” HERE’S WHERE I’M UNCERTAIN. I’m not sure what exactly Haruka’s saying, nor can I entirely decide who she’s talking TO. I get the ‘If something happens to me part”, that’s clear enough. “Before Michiru knows it”, I’m thinking it means “before Michiru knows I’m dead/incapacitated/a dracula”. LIKE HARUKA’S GOING TO BE IN A SITUATION FOR ANY OF THIS WITHOUT MICHIRU RIGHT FUCKING THERE. I mean Michiru’s right there fucking listening to it, what the hall are you even SAYING, Haruka?

Then we have “I entrust her to you”. This is even more wide open to me. My first thought is to say “her” is Usagi, because that’s been who Haruka’s been focused on since Usagi brought up the new Senshi. Is she talking to Mamoru? Maybe. If this were the manga, or even the new musicals, I wouldn’t even be asking the question. But Mamoru is very much a supporting character here, so I don’t think Mamoru is a given.

Then I thought she was talking to Michiru. The grammar for the sentence doesn’t seem to work for that, but I know language can be funny sometimes, and I think Haruka’s words may be open enough to interpretation right here that I can’t say for certain the subbers own take on this isn’t impacting their word choices. That would certainly be an interesting thing for Haruka to do: asking Michiru to take care of Usagi, when it’s entirely likely she died BECAUSE of Usagi. I mean damn, that’s pretty fucking ballsy, but shows a tremendous amount of unromanticised accepted insight into Michiru that I kind of love.

Then my third thought was, what if this isn’t about Usagi at all? The song started with Usagi singing about being stronger and protecting all of her dear friends. What if Haruka is instead saying TO Usagi, “If something happens to me, look after Michiru”.

Which I love as a concept, I really do, though I’m not sure that last cap bears that out. Because damn, look at Michiru’s face.  Turned away, in the shadow, seemingly neutral but clearly hurt. Still, I suppose the question could be, is she hurt because Haruka’s taking steps to have someone look after Usagi, and so seeming to give Usagi yet more of herself? Or, is is just pain at the idea of something happening to Haruka, something which she already feels on the wind?

Galactic Binder: Outer Senshi!

This one is still my new favorite. For all the feelings I have about Sailor Jupiter, and they are legion, the high drama of Haruka and Michiru is still my greatest delight in that show.
