my super quick predictions for the guest/hermit duos for decked out tomorrow

skizz: impulse. thats his brother man!!! ya gotta put em together!!! runner up choice is etho, i feel like skizz will need a stronger deck to help him out, and ethos got dungeon knowledge for days to help his BEST/TIES buddy.

lizzie: gem. empires buddies! plus i think lizzie will lean into the "confused and overwhelmed" bit, and gem's casual confidence is a good counterbalance. runner up choice is cub, i cant remember if theyve interacted before (mcc?) but i feel like the vibes would be wild. two chaotic spirits collide.

jimmy: grian. these two are best friends and grian would leap at the chance to tease jimmy while he runs the dungeon. runner up pearl, because she would also tease jimmy mercilessly, but at least her deck would be more helpful.

martyn: scar. this is opposites attract, martyn is pretty focused and tactical while scar has his luck installed upside down, so itd be fun to see how those playstyles clash. runner up is ren, because i dont think its likely, but a gal can dream.

joel: jevin. ive been trying to limit myself to ppl that actually know each other, but this one just speaks to me. theyre both competitive tryhards who enjoy snarking their friends. runner up is etho, for similar "a guy can dream" reasons.

hbomb: false. hbomb is falses biggest fan (og false supremacy truther), and id love to see their roles reversed from their first mcc9 team, with false as the mentor and h learning from her. runner up...bdubs? since h cant collect him in mcc now lol

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds panel at San-Diego Comic-Con 2022

A few highlights from the panel with cast members Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, Christina Chong, Paul Wesley, and executive producers Henry Alonso Myers, Alex Kurtzman and Rod Roddenberry.

Star Trek: Lower Decks voice actors Tawny Newsome (Beckett Mariner) and Jack Quaid (Brad Boimler) made a surprise appearance (see clip) as the Strange New Worlds/Lower Decks crossover was announced!

The team surprised Paul Wesley with an awesome Captain Kirk cake (clip here) for his birthday!

Alex Kurtzman confirmed they are currently developing two new Star Trek shows.

aye, as expected, rebirth is much better once i've calmed down.

although i'm going to retry fort condor again so maybe i am saying this too early

(I still don't like the plot-gating mandatory mini-games of chapter 6, but chapter 7 is much more straightforward and has a sidequest that is related to the main plot! joys of joys) (i also really liked cloud fighting with the umbrella and the zack interlude. love any mention of my boy. also i did not expect to love the barret-tifa-yuffie relationship so much)

edit: okay. I've actually done some googling on how to win the last fort condor fight since they were so hard (fucking time limit!) and just managed to get it through with 6 seconds left thanks to loads of ballista and also putting it on easy mode. i really liked the remix of battle on the big bridge! can't wait to hear it in its entirety

Managed to catch up on my Read Christie challenge just in time for a new month and a new Christie to read lmao. But I really enjoyed Cards On The Table.

Putting the three established detectives (Poirot, Race and Battle) plus adding Ariadne Oliver was a stroke of genius. It was so fun and lent itself to some really interesting comparisons of their different methods. I think there was potential for this one to end up kinda boring since so much of it is just each detective talking to each suspect (seriously like poirot talking to suspect 1 and then battle talking to them, and then poirot talking to battle, and then battle to suspect 3 and ariadne to suspect 2 and then poirot to 2 and 3) but Christie managed to keep it interesting and make each conversation distinct enough it didn't feel repetitive.

A useful class discussion tonight reflecting on our thoughts, ideas and inspiration relating to our Tarot card brief.

So interesting how far all our personal philosophy and beliefs are reflected in how we are approaching oyr chosen card and representing thosewith symbolism or without.

As we begin to expand our thinking into how our final pieces will work together the project grows in my mind.

Continuing to explore the shuffle, and the dealing of cards, i have made a random selection of imagery from a shuffled deck, grouping images into 'hands' from the deck.

DUDE. #better stall than moleman imo #i got that one right before the angler fight- did you know phase 1 angler almost every single card has only 1 power? #fun times #bone bird and/or dire wolves carried as usual #also that's another starting deck down that's 6 out of 8 #i think the big play for the most part throughout most of these starting decks is to get rid of the 1 cost starting cards through campfires #or bone lord; as soon as you find a really good 1 cost card you can rely on for the rest of the run #or a selection of 1 cost cards #in this run i got a couple REALLY good 1 cost cards from challenges #a warren with undying and ants; and a cat with worthy sacrifice and thorns #both extremely good #i think i kept my stoat through the run but i sacced a magpie on it so i could search for an ACTUALLY good 1 cost card to start with #and the bullfrog i fed to the campfire guys so i wouldn't have to worry about drawing it #once you get those good 1 cost cards so you can win reliably- avoid all other 1 cost cards like the PLAGUE. that's the meta i think #ALSO not related to this run but for a dead run actually.... i drew my best buddy hodag right before prospector with waterborne totem. 😔 #saddest day of my life
