I decided to draw him after staying in tune with Musta Kissa (1984) Album yeah I know it is probably not his BEST album based on the tracks (most of the tracks are too basic 80s pop for me) yet this album became my secondary favorite inferior to Sinulle! (1971), but the Album cover is just a 10 (!!) I love the cover art so much!!!! he also suits the black cat concept, it would be wonderful if I could buy this LP 🐈‍⬛ and I must admit that I adore his 1980s era more than his Topmost and ‘70s era 🤭

(this one took me 1 hour of Marathon drawing hehe)

i don't understand. what is schlager?

Hello!

I guess this question is aiming at Till's hidden track on his newest album and the general vibe it emanates (in stark contrast to his usual work 😇).

From a german point of view, Schlager is a type of music genre mostly characterised by light and very catchy melodies and sentimental/romantic/rather simple lyrics. All in all it's quite sappy, the singers on stage always smile or are dramatic, everything is colorful and the music is quite easy to digest.

Here in Germany it's mostly viewed as music for the elderly population, a lot of TV shows filled with Schlager performances exist and a wide range of artists are quite popular among fans. No matter if you love or hate Schlager, there are some songs which are kind of known by almost every German, like 'Griechischer Wein' by Udo Jürgens or 'Er gehört zu mir' by Marianne Rosenberg. Please don't ask me why but I know these songs by heart despite Schlager definitely not being my jam, but some songs you just can't fight off because they're too damn catchy. Same with Till's Rödel-song 🫠
