i'm rewatching the two towers and GOD the scene of the ents, shepherds of trees and forests and all things that grow, destroying isengard -- and then releasing the river and letting the waters of life overflow the mines? it's So Much

also, if i could draw, one of the first things i’d do is draw eowyn -- shining eowyn, leader of her people, who her uncle could rely on above all else to protect them -- on a horse with her hair tied back because genuinely the worst part of the two towers for me is having to see her with loose hair all the time. for GOD’S SAKE this woman is BUSY and RUNNING AROUND and you’re telling me she’s brushing her hair out of her eyes every five seconds? really? it’s not even behind her ears? GOD

and yeah obviously she gets a horse when they’re going to helm’s deep. the way they outfitted her you’d think she was a random villager who got deputized by the king.

#sb and l rambles #sb and l reads tolkien #tolkien #lotr #eowyn #my leia feelings are rapidly getting mixed up with my eowyn feelings #they want to fight! they want to get glory (eowyn) and do direct action (leia) and be responsible for only themselves #but their fathers and brothers are handling the battlefield and they are needed to do the actual leading #i'm obsessed with this role i guess. eowyn isn't being relegated to WOMEN'S work per say #like yes them banning her from fighting is because of sexism but the work she has to do is vital #and probably shows that theoden trusts her more than her brother to be the steady one? #yeah i'm gonna go with that. and yes then that goes into sexism. eowyn never got to be the reckless impulsive one #so then her entire family is going off to help gondor and she hits her limit and goes ''screw it'' and then picks up a hobbit too #anyway. probably not the point i was trying to make with this post. i'm gonna go look at a website now

it might just be me but doesn't "middle-earth's greatest evil" refer to morgoth? why are we calling SAURON its greatest evil. like i understand words like "the rise of" means it's sauron but why. i want to know.
