i think part of the reason why i haven’t included reforming the police in sara’s arc like i have w cyno’s is bc inazuma’s arc really wasn’t about overthrowing a corrupt government like how we’d thought which makes it harder to reform the judicial system without completely changing the story whereas sumeru kinda altered the judicial system by separating the matra from the sages, meaning it’s a lot easier to slot in other changes esp bc change was expected to happen anyways (even if not in that particular way). i also think that having sara be a more individual person and finding community elsewhere as a stepping stone is compelling for her!!! i also think it helps to aid in that idea of the only good cops are the ones that are dead or quit. in a way saraverse is about transitions even if it’s made to be a satisfying conclusion for her character (ex: her being a trans woman. her quitting and leaving her family. her finding family w the arataki gang. her, itto, and takuya. her transforming guilt into action instead of wallowing etc etc!!!)

what sucks is I feel like ghé ittosara in my head is only effective if you understand how they got to where they are otherwise it feels like I’m just mischaracterizing them instead of having literal arcs thought out for them in my head 😭😭😭😭😭😭

it is important to the sara and takuya in my saraverse that he’s ultimately the one that gets her closer to the rest of the arataki gang esp bc they’re both perceived as outsiders of the main arataki gang and it establishes a relationship between them thats between them and them alone :)

like most things ofc ittokuyasara doesn’t have to be romantic for the message I want to convey in sara’s arc to be effective but consider: it’d be fun <3. AND they’re all trans and bi :3 but that aside the real meat of the story is sara finding and (most importantly) choosing a family that loves her for who she is and not the role she’s supposed to fill! they finds value in her as sara! not kujou sara! not the shogun’s general! not the tengu! and that’s so important!!! especially bc she’s done them dirty before and a lot of her arc in my head is confronting that guilt and making up for it.
