Gen and Ethan are celebrating making it to 20 weeks!

This is also the first year they won’t be going to the annual party at Donahues — because our girl obviously can’t drink lol

They have dinner with the Lahela’s (baby Kaili included, Marie went back to Maine to spend the weekend with Henry and Clara’s kids) and the Carrick’s. the husbands make dinner and some green mocktails for the wives. Nat isn’t drinking because she’s breast feeding, and neither is Camilla as she’s about a month ahead of Gen in her pregnancy

Open Heart creators, we are sleeping on St. Patrick’s Day… ☘️ It is HUGE in Boston, our blorbos are either celebrating or dealing with some VERY interesting cases.

Your writing is magical my love, and I will forever be angry that someone made you think otherwise.

Look, not to start shit, but

It has come to my attention that the attack on several creators via an anonymous hate blog (dubbed as "sheepgate") has been brought up again. What's more, it's being misinterpreted as many things other than what it truly was: an unwarranted and unprovoked attack.

It went beyond attacking fictional characters or people's fictional work: it aimed to hurt and humiliate real-life people. It had real life effects on those targeted (believe me, I'm not being overdramatic when I say that). To say it was warranted or that the targets were "just as bad" is to condone anon hate and harassment.

It was also expressed to me that this event was brought up after two years under the guise of wishing to know more about it. If people are that interested to know what it was about, perhaps try asking me, one of the people targeted? Instead of getting your information from secondary sources...

It almost makes me question if the intent behind unearthing this drama was really education? It almost feels the intent was to stir the pot because of personal feelings about some of the people targeted. That's merely my opinion, though.

Either way, my DMs are open if anyone is that curious.

I only speak for myself here. Please don't take this as an invitation to question others involved. Some people have moved on and never wish to relive this again.

Finally, I know I have bigger problems right now. I also know I could've let this one go. Believe me, I tried. But I find it alarming people are using this traumatic event to justify their hatred of those involved. I don't care if people dislike/hate me. You are entitled to that opinion.

But what we're not going to do is misconstrue what happened.

I will neither forgive nor forget the absolutely disgusting and vile things they said about my MC — who is very much an extension of me.

I have never been shy about the similarities between my mc and me, and everyone in this fandom knew that, including the people who were behind “Sheepgate”.

Celebrating the abuse she went through — which is and was pulled from my own life, again something I was always open about because I’ve always felt it’s important to show others you’re not alone and that mental and emotional abuse is real and painful and traumatic — saying she deserved it, will never be forgotten. I will never forgot those words. It was like you were saying I deserved it. Something I had heard a thousand times in a thousand different ways.

Anyone bringing this up again, needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and think about their choices.

You can not preach for acceptance and grace, and kindness and then turn around and bring up something that was so incredibly hurtful with no regard for those involved.

It wasn’t okay then, no matter how “big” our blogs were, and it sure as hell isn’t okay now.

My heart will always be open, pun intended, to this fandom and those who continue to also spread joy and kindness, but there is a reason I have slowly faded out of here.

That’s my two cents on this.

I’d say 70% similar.

Her face shape is slightly different than the sprite, and my FC’s eyes are technically brown not green — tho I say she has green eyes anyway.

A Note and A Thank You

Dear wonderful readers,

I've been on the fence about this for months, but due to some life-changing (and scary) news I received today in my personal life, I decided it is the right time to say this. I always said that when the time came to hang my writing hat, I would not write a long goodbye post. And I plan to stick to my word. This is not goodbye. Not really. 

This upcoming March 2024 will mark four years of writing for Choices (more specifically, for Open Heart). I started this journey when Open Heart: Second Year was still publishing and as the world was going on lockdown due to the pandemic. Times back then were truly terrifying and unpredictable, but I found solace and comfort in this community. I was lucky to be received with what felt like open arms by friendly users and enthusiastic readers. 

That is a memory I will cherish until the end of my days.

With that in mind, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest and everlasting gratitude to YOU for joining me in this crazy journey. Writing for Open Heart helped me re-discover my love for writing and I truly believe that wouldn’t have been possible without you. Your support and enthusiasm have been a tremendous source of joy these past four years.

Again, I know this sounds like a goodbye and it’s not. 

But I also want to be completely honest about my future here.

Many of you know that the world has long since returned to normal since the pandemic (or as normal as it can be). Things are vastly different from the day I wrote and published my first Open Heart fic (Lovely). These days, life has presented me with a series of challenges, including serious medical diagnoses and demanding work duties. As a result, finding the time and energy to write has become a complex balancing act.

I wanted to share this with you to express my sincere appreciation for your understanding during this busy (and terrifying) period. Though there is still much I want to create, I am uncertain about the frequency with which I can write in the future. To be brutally honest with myself, I doubt I will be able to create anything in the foreseeable future. I hope one day things will be okay in my life and I can return to doing what I love most. 

In the meantime, I leave you with my Masterlist. The works there are not perfect and if given the chance, I would definitely change many things, but they were written with much, much love. Though my online time is very limited now, I will still be here on Tumblr, reading and reblogging content when I get little breaks here and there. You guys also know I can't resist reblogging pictures of my pairing or answering asks about them! You can also find me on my main blog (if you want to follow the madness there). 

I once more want to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Your support, understanding, and patience mean the world to me. Thank you for being a part of this journey, and I hope to return to writing one day.
