Let there be light! My next quarantine project is one I've been holding off for a year now. When I was working at @sandiegomuseumofart we had an exhibition of sculptures from @timshawsculptor and one of them made use of an original lamppost from the Pan American Exposition of 1915 which is why @balboapark exists. After the exhibition, the park rangers didn't want the piece back so it was up for grabs. I grabbed. So now I'm finally getting the logistical hurdles handled and will be pouring a cement pad for it with threaded rods and PVC for wiring electrical. Didn't have a Sanotube on hand so I'm using an old garbage can as a mold. It will definitely be out of context in the backyard but I'm going for a C. S. Lewis vibe here. Hard to believe a year has gone by since “Bloom Bash 2019”. Glancing back at the 44 piece, 176ft suspending mural which was installed along the roofline of @panama66sdma and unveiled at the opening #bloombash party during #artalive2019 at the @sandiegomuseumofart in @balboapark . This mural is the largest commissioned solo piece to date in the history of the museum and is now featured throughout @portovistahotel in the @littleitalysd neighborhood of @sandiego CA. Life Stage (The Blurred Line Between Art & Life) at Sushi Performance and Visual Art, July 26-28, 2002. This event was a three-day multidisciplinary exposition of visual and performing art by over a hundred individuals and artists exploring the boundaries of a Life Stage.
