Reach Out and Feel Me - Chapter 8 - Tea Spilling

As Hera listened in to the radio traffic of patrol updates and mission planning, she saw Sabine’s attention had turned to outside the command post’s entrance. The young Mandalorian slowly walked her way out into the corridor, giving quick look over her shoulder to check that she wasn’t going to be missed, before disappearing out of sight.

Where’s she off to?

Hera nodded to the watchkeepers she was standing over, dismissing herself from the briefing, and quietly followed her fellow Spectre, leaving the chaotic energy of Jacen and Chopper to their game of tag to be collected later. She quietly walked along the corridor Sabine had disappeared down, until she heard the woman’s voice up ahead, talking in a hushed tone.

“Did you find everything you need?” Hera heard Sabine question. The Twi’lek slowed her quiet walk to a creep, until Sabine had just come into view around the corner. Hera was still in the shadows, and decided to stay there and listen in, knowing precisely who the Mandalorian had subtly blown her off for.

“I did,” came the Togruta’s reply, confirming Hera’s suspicions. “We should have enough to get us through a few months if needed. Where’s Hera? Have you been to ordnance yet?”

The Mandalorian shook her head, her bright fringe bouncing across her eyes. “Not yet. Hera’s just in listening to patrol reports. We’ll get ration restock then I’ll go back to the ship to get the fur scraps, I forgot to do that first.” Hera heard Ahsoka let out a sigh, then saw the Togruta’s hands come up along Sabine’s arms, rubbing them slowly and deliberately. “You must be terribly cold, poor, forgetful padawan of mine.” Ahsoka’s voice had dropped an octave, and the husk and drawl of her words made Hera’s eyes widened as she leant a bit further forward, enough so she could see the first part of the Togruta’s profile. Well that would be Ahsoka’s bedroom voice, if I ever had to guess. Sabine looked down at her own feet, like an embarrassed teen, a blush coming up on her cheeks. “I’m fine,” came the shy, warm reply. “But you know… We still haven’t talked about last night…?” Sabine was looking up with a mixture of shyness and expectancy at her master, one of her hands reaching up to hold onto the older woman’s waist. “We will,” came Ahsoka’s reply. ‘I promise. When we get some time alone to ourselves tonight. And then… I can help warm you up more, if you’d like.”

An evil grin crossed Hera’s face as she watched the exchange from the shadows. You two are so busted, she thought, both satisfied with her sneaky discovery and happy for her friends. She lingered for one more moment, enough to hear Sabine let out an enthusiastic hiss of “Yes…” and see the young woman propel forward on her toes and capture the Togruta’s lips in a firm, excited kiss. Kriff, that’s my cue to go, Hera alarmed, and silently retreated out of view and along the corridor before the secret lovers discovered her eavesdropping.
