When Izana was rated as the worst bf in the Tenjiku character book, all I thought about was how his guys would dress up as ladies to make him seem popular on his birthday

TT: Dark magic, you mean? GA: Yes GA: Well GA: Influence By The Gods From The Furthest Ring GA: The Communion You Seem To Have Developed With Them I Find Kind Of Troubling TT: I don't think they are as nefarious as you might imagine. TT: Many of them seem to be intent on helping us. GA: How Exactly Do You Know That TT: From their whispers in my dreams.
Let's lay our cards on the table, here. What do we know about the Horrorterrors?
They exist outside the boundaries of every session.
They 'advise' Derse Dreamers, who report that their intel is always good.
They're not fully aligned with Skaia, but they have struck some sort of 'bargain' with it. The terms of this bargain are unclear, but seem to involve an exchange of information.
Together with Skaia, they ensure that each Sburb session is sufficiently challenging for its Players.
They tried to destroy the MEOW code before Bec was created, an act which would have doomed the timeline.
They've told Rose that her session is unwinnable, and granted her enormous power. Rose is using this power to tear LOLAR apart in search of answers.
They claim to be here to help.
This doesn't add up to much, and definitely doesn't add up to trust. Their monstrous appearance and Lovecraftian inspiration doesn't necessarily say anything about their alignment, and there's no reason they can't be benign, if their actions corroborate this.
The problem, however, is that we can't judge any of their actions as benign or malevolent, because we don't know what they know. We do know they're not telling Rose everything - she didn't know why she was burning MEOW, just that it was necessary.
Does their loose alliance with Skaia make them more or less trustworthy? Why are they sponsoring Rose's rampage at all? Can't they provide the answers she seeks?
Are there things that Skaia is hiding from the Horrorterrors?
GA: How Much Time Have You Really Spent Sleeping GA: Since You Began Playing TT: Not much. TT: But quite a lot in a failed timeline. TT: And now and then, memories surface from that alternate reality. TT: Vague memories, but unmistakable in familiarity, like spontaneously remembering a dream from years ago by some inexplicable catalyst. TT: In that reality, they spoke to me in my sleep and told me much of what I needed to know. TT: Including what to do to reset our timeline and create the present reality.
At least we know something I've long suspected - that Future Rose is the reason Rose went dark so quickly. Turns out her future self's entire plan came from the Gods all along.
I wonder what this means for Davesprite? He's a consequence of that plan too, after all - do the Gods have some purpose for him?

Mochi being the oldest and just sitting letting his sisters/cousins decorate his hair and his face with stickers
Kinda sleep deprived and working extra shifts ignore my spelling
-🌲🦊
That is so cute!!!!! And something he'd let them do. At least once he accidentally forgets about the stickers too and then turns up to a fight/meeting with heart stickers and various other shapes on his face. Izana frowns at the crown one stuck to his forehead and the Haitani brother's think it's kind of a good look too

I am insanely curious to know how Ran knows Kakucho.
He may have heard about Izana when he was the leader of the Black Dragons, and later he met him in juvie, but what about Kakucho? We never really knew where Kakucho was while Izana was 1) in Black Dragons and 2) when Shinichiro died when Kisaki went to visit him
When Ran says that he admired them, was he referring to their way of living? To the ideals of Tenjiku?
Tumblr media
At a certain point in the fight, Izana mentions that the Tenjiku members are following him out of fear. However, this is not really the case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ran really admired Izana and Kakucho, he looks very devastated and even seems to stay a few more seconds next to their bodies, while Rindou leaves him space because he may know how much the situation is affecting him.
First: the fight was intense for him. While he is initially shown as someone who enjoys violence, he later becomes agitated due to Rindou being injured. And then, he loses those he admired. That night had to be tiring for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the rest? The rest of the Tenjiku members decided to stay and be arrested instead of running away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
None of them followed Izana out of fear, as he said. Let's take South as an example of following someone out of fear: they all abandoned him when he died. South didn't have any ideals in particular, people followed him because of his extreme violence. That's the difference between them.
Izana also used violence, ofc, but he had something else. South only had the violence and everyone left him when he died, as if nothing had happened.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Izana truly marked a before and after in everyone's hearts.
His ideals are understandable and it is easy to empathize with him, because everyone in Tokyo Revengers is alone in some way. Let us remember that one of the reasons why gangs in Japan and Bōsōzoku exist is because of the need to escape from a society as rigid as theirs.
It is referenced that Mutō had nowhere to go chapter where he and Sanzu meet, the Haitani brothers had always been next to each other, with no one else and only seem to care about themselves, so presumably they only have each other, both as colleagues and family. Not much is known about the rest, but they probably had a way of life in which the gang was everything to them.
Even though all of them, especially Kakucho, knew that he was possibly crazy, they stayed with the two of them even knowing that they would be sent to juvie again.
Tenjiku was the ideal utopia they all needed. They truly respected him.
And, going back to Ran, I assume he still appreciates Kakucho. I loved that gesture of camaraderie he had with him helping him walk at the end of the Three Deities battle. I assume Rindou is walking behind them and it's one of the moments where Ran is seen actively interacting with someone other than his brother.

A moment of silence for Mochi, Shion and the Haitanis who are very busy making out with the dirt and missing out on all the juicy drama of the last few chapters
press F in the chat. Especially now lol.
Imagine they wake up after the fight and someone has to tell them about sanzu, the freaking train, the katana incident and kakucho's death and they just sit there and think "I was out for two hours max. how did that happen???"

S62: Final Statements
Tumblr media
Putting aside their experiences the previous night with the League of Terror Vigilant, the Mudwangs went their own way in final preparations. A sweaty Rat locked himself away again, pouring over his research and prepared statements. While the others slept, Rucker ventured outside the borders of Bofkashome to the countryside where he set a fire and took to understanding his magical gift from Yvram, the Moonstone Dragon. Under an overcast night he began to unlock the power in the bracelet, which began emitting moonlight and detecting his skull necklaces enchantments. It then morphed a moonstone spear, light yet strong as ironwood. Finally, the spear opened up and welcomed a flower-headed fairy from it's core, who parted the sky to let the full beauty of the full moon on the countryside. Astounded at the present, The Goliath reaffirmed his intent to help make the world safer for others, and to help his friend however best he could.
---
On their final day before the trial, Taerus went to spent more time with Syster Odiminn in prayer, their whispers resounding like thunder in the skyclave above. After a time, the soldier confessed he couldn’t think of many ways someone like him could help in the proceedings. His halfling mentor encouraged him, pointing out that as an officer, he had to earn the trust of his men: someone of such integrity would be invaluable in a trial of honor. As she encouraged him to pray deeper, their hands clasped, amidst the growing windstorm in the chambers, Taerus could almost hear... a voice... his hylgee... his soul...
Remember… remember who we are.
Ayeres? Where are you?
---
Near midday, Vax finally got the chance to speak privately with Elder Gikandi, hoping to learn why the tortle was seemingly content to let his fate be decided without a fight. Gikandi explained how he’d spent centuries trying to positively influence the minds and priorities for the Academy’s magical adepts. While he was invested in the trials outcome, given his position and relationship to Shakan, it was not in his nature to fight destiny. His ability to see and influence the future was dangerous, and he'd seen what could occur from tampering too heavily. Instead, he admitted with a chuckle he liked his odds given the return of his favored pupil and his friends.
Vax then asked about Larrius and his seeming rise to power. Gikandi spoke well of the acting Elder, admitting that though he lacked a sense of humor he'd worked tirelessly for the Conservatory and it's advancement: Gikandi could think of few better to lead the Conservatory in his absence. His questions answered, if unsatisfyingly, Vax asked Gikandi go guide him in learning how to Scry. He chose to Scry on Marshal Trest, watching through a blurry lens as the general made his way through the sweeping halls of Fort Indominus. As the spell wore off, though, Vax was shocked to watch Trest calling for guards as a surging mob broke down a set of outer doors in the palace.
---
Finally, Shakan spent the morning alone before making his way to the offices of the ConsArc Elder. Entering, he pondered the many hours poring over books, maps, and scrolls with Gikandi. Instead, Larry Dennit, Jr. sat in the Elder’s place reading through the Journal of the Elders. After a cool welcome, where both admitted there was no love lost between them, Shakan cut straight to the matter and challenged Larry over why he had deposed Gikandi, if not for personal gain and advancement.
The acting Elder redirected the accusation- By approving of Shakan’s “self-indulgent personal quest,” he had implicitly approved of his visit to the Rectory and everything that followed. Larry scoffed at Gikandi's preference for the genasi, when there were other students whose research would prove more useful to the Academy. With Shakan fled, the authorities could only turn to Gikandi for accountability. Larry explained that it brought him not joy to step in to manage the Conservatory in their masters suspension, but he was simply doing what was required of him.
Shakan asked Larry to excuse Gikandi and accept the charges himself. Wishing they'd had this conversation sooner, Larry agreed to review the request once the gavel was struck on the morrow. Shakan agreed, seeming to understand that while Larry Dennit, Jr. may not like him as a person, his duties and intent seemed to be driven from a sense of law and order.
It was then that Huon Hurrard, ConsArcs newest prefect, arrived to speak with Larry. Having met briefly upon arriving back at the Academy, Shakan vaguely recalled the well-manicured man had been a student below him when Gikandi selected Shakan for advanced studies. With predatory grins and cocked eyebrows, Huon made light of the genasi's former studies, and cursed his utter foolishness for returning. Ignoring the student's mockery, Shakan gave a final challenge to Larry to do right by their common master, and left.
---
Amidst these revelations, the Mudwangs were befuddled- if Shakan truly believed that Larry had not manipulated events for his own gain, then what was this all about? It appeared that their ultimate mission, then, would be to state the case for Shakan Bake as an asset to the Academy. Perhaps there was still a chance to establish that Shakan’s efforts were in self defense, hopefully connected to what Vax had learned at the Open Hand’s altar of prayer. They also knew that with the Prosecution bringing their own evidence, there would likely be revelations and surprises in store once the trial for Shakan Bake’s future commenced.

EB: why are you taking such an interest in my fashion, anyway? AG: Trolls are an extremely fashion-minded race, John. You should make a note of this, since you pretend to 8e a scientist or something.
We've been told the opposite - but we've also seen that highblood trolls do care about their outfits, so Vriska is only half-lying.
EB: laaaaaaaame. AG: Look at that! You counted out 8 a's for me, John! That is so thoughtful of you. [...] EB: i didn't even count. it just… EB: turned out like that. [...] AG: <33333333
John, please run. Vriska paralyzed her last crush.

GA: Ive Just Been Meaning To Say GA: That I Read Your Instructional Guide
It took Kanaya eight more chatlogs to bring up the GameFAQs guide. I guess when you're getting to know your crush, you don't want to cop to a parasocial relationship until you're sure it won't scare her off.
TT: Sorry to hear you were subjected to that. GA: Why TT: It was a little melodramatic in retrospect. Heavy-handed.
You're above all that now, though.
Tumblr media
Right?
TT: Have you ever written a message you regretted instantly upon sending? GA: Lately GA: Almost Perpetually TT: That line included? GA: Wow Yeah Kind Of
I think it's called 'being thirteen'.
GA: At The Time Of Reading It Lent Some Useful Insight GA: Into The Nature Of The Game I Hadnt Yet Considered GA: And GA: The Author I Guess [...] TT: When exactly did you read it? GA: Uh GA: By The Way GA: What Are You Doing Here
What's so uncomfortable about telling her when you read it? It's not like you have to admit you idolized her.
I guess she just wants to change the subject before they get anywhere close to that confession. Kanaya started this conversation, but it's clear she's not quite ready to finish it.
Tumblr media
There's something here, buried deep underneath the temple. It's enormous, and it doesn't match LOLAR's sparkleglitter aesthetic at all.
A secret dungeon? Her Denizen's lair? An egg?
GA: Are These Tactics Really Necessary GA: [...] I Thought Our Methods Earlier Were Effective GA: In Illuminating The Underpinnings Of The Game GA: You Ask Some Questions GA: And I Answer GA: If I Can
Yeah, but I never got the sense that the trolls really studied the game. Karkat was pretty dismissive about Sgrub's deeper lore, and most of his team lack Rose's analytical mindset. Terezi might be helpful here - and she did tell Rose she'd be back later.
I guess Rose could go for broke, and ask the troll who actually has the answers - but you'd probably get more insight from a brick wall than you would from Aradia Megido. Still, she might let something slip.
GA: But These Means Presently On Display GA: Are Making Me A Little Nervous GA: I Think Its Kind Of A Reckless Use Of TT: Of what? GA: These Forces
Thank you, Kanaya. Is it finally time to talk about this?
Rose is fully aware that an early-game Player isn't meant to be this strong. How much power is she getting? What are its limits? Under what conditions is it given, and what are the consequences for breaking them?
