Sorry it took so long to respond @misfit-muses. I wanted to post my answer just in time to share this for RoseGarden Day which, in case you didn’t know, is today: December 22nd.

Happy RG Day to all my fellow RG shippers in the hizz house.

Now to answer you Misfit. What do I think? Well naturally, I think this wish list is quite stupendous! Heck I think you read my mind with some of these things on your wish list (especially the one about Ruby jumping into Oscar’s arms and practically knocking the smol bean to ground in a triumphant celebratory glomp after battle). As a matter of fact, my good chap, I’ll take your wish list and raise you some of my own.

Behold:

LittleMissSquiggles’ Wish List For Rose Garden:

-          In honour of Chapter 10 of Volume 5, I want Oscar to have a bigger role with what will eventually go down when the team rendezvoused with Professor Lionheart which both they and us the viewers know is a trap. Oscar is supposed to play things cool and act the part of another long lost relative of Qrow’s or something (like maybe Oscar is supposed to pretend to be Qrow’s son or something). However during the whole ordeal, Oscar’s fear gets the better of him and he becomes so nervous that he just suddenly freezes on the spot and not even Ozpin’s voice could reach him. Noticing this, Ruby, who was supposed to be hiding with Team JNR somewhere while Qrow and Oscar/Ozpin dealt privately with Lionheart, breaks cover and intervenes; laughingly making up some excuse about being late as she quickly but gently takes Oscar’s hand in hers, warming his fingers that had become numb with panic while giving him a comforting squeeze. It is through this compassionate gesture and the reassuring look on Ruby’s face encouraging him that he could do this, that Oscar was able to find the courage to regain his composure to continue the mission. So Oscar is able to maintain his facade of Qrow’s son and even after duping Lionheart, he and Ruby still hold hands through the duration of the front. I was told we would get RoseGarden handholding. Lindsey Jones said they hold hands at an RTX convention. It doesn’t matter if she said it as a ruse to the audience. It was said so now it must be done, CRWBY!

-          Adding to your point about Oscar awakening his semblance to save Ruby, I more saw it as Oscar gaining the courage to fight in order to protect Ruby while awakening his own unique ability in the process. For the longest while I’ve been itching for a Ruby and Oscar tag team vs. Cinder rematch! Volume 5 has to be building up to that fight. We never got to see Ruby fight Cinder so I know she’s probably harbouring some spite towards the Fall Maiden for what she did to Pyrrha and Penny (specifically Pyrrha) and we all know how much Cinder wants to kill Ruby so they gotta duke it out. And, we never got to see Ozpin vs. Cinder so to have Oscar fight Cinder and let us see the whole thing from start to finish would be the battle of the century. C’MON! ROSEGARDEN VS CINDER! It’s not just a heavily wanted fan-muse, it’s practically canon!

-          Ruby kissing Oscar on those big adorable flushed freckly cheeks of his. I don’t care what the reason is. Whether she’s proud of him for conquering his fears or saving her or just cause he’s so damn adorable and who wouldn’t wanna land a smooch on dem freckly cheeks of his, I don’t care. Let this happen at least once. And by once I mean probably many times.

-          A cute moment where Ruby and Oscar turn to each other and share a triumphant hug after some mega team-building or plot moving moment (or whatever) only to both jump back blushing, but otherwise smiling at each other.

-          Oscar introducing Ruby to his family and being incessantly teased about ‘running away to the city to come back with his new city girlfriend’. Up until this point, I think everyone assumes Oscar to only have his aunt since she was the only family member of his to make an appearance in the series so far, even if it was just her voice alone. But I think it would be cute if in addition to his aunt, Oscar also had a string-band of little cousins, all girls; making Oscar the only boy and oldest of the bunch (which would explain why he has his own room in the barn and is the only one seen working on the farm since he’s of age). Imagine a swarm of little girls, as old as nine and as young as four, all resembling Oscar with their dark hair, tanned complexions and freckled-faces, suddenly circling Ruby barraging her with prying personal questions about herself and her relationship to their ‘big-brother cousin Oscar’; much to the farm boy’s chagrin.

-          Oscar showing Ruby around his aunt’s farm and teaching her all about the farm lifestyle which she is surprisingly overexcited about.

-          Oscar showing Ruby how to properly milk a cow after she rather naively yet adorably, in a very Ruby-way tried to bribe the Pine family cow with cookies in exchange for her dairy services. Not saying that Ruby is so dumb that she doesn’t know how a cow really works but by my observation, real animals tend to be a very rare sight in Remnant so I wouldn’t be too surprised if Ruby has never seen a real cow before. She knows it makes milk but is quite inexperienced in the art of acquiring such milk. Hence why Oscar is there to show her the ropes.

-          Oscar taking Ruby on a horseback ride and the two share a bonding moment while observing the lovely view of Mistral from the Pine family farm.

-          An idea for a future episode later in the RoseGarden development where Oscar spontaneously kisses Ruby after a near clash with death for them both. It is a first kiss for the two respectively. When Oscar finally parts with Ruby, he opens his eyes to observe her reaction only to be met with one of complete shock as her silver eyes ogled him in comical surprise, mouth agape and cheeks flushed at what he had just done. Oscar immediately panics and starts stuttering out apologies for Ruby to forgive him for kissing her out of the blue like that. But as he was about to say he was sorry for the umpteenth time, Oscar is cut short as Ruby suddenly grabs him by the scruff of his blouse and locks lips with him again, delightedly kissing him back. In the moment, Oscar loses all sense of nervousness he once had and melts into the kiss, draping his arms around Ruby’s back as he pulled her in closer, deepening their kiss and returning it with as much vigour as his crush as the two young huntsmen kissed each other passionately. Like Martin Luther King Jr., I had a dream about this once. Literally. This is my vision for the RoseGarden first kiss. If Ruby and Oscar do smooch at some point in the series, all I ask is that it be awkwardly cute but beautiful at the same time.

Whelp, that’s it for my wish list. I bet I have more but these are my best ones for now. Whaddaya think of that Misfit?
