I’m back on my bullsh*t, if by that you mean winning at maximizing my closet! I shot these looks back in early July, I felt inspired by a catch up with someone special that I can only describe as my spirit womb sister, my dear angel friend Yolisa. I’d shown him so of my way back when Instagram lewks and he was floored, he told me I could afford to go back to that level of styling and I knew he was right. While I am the queen of the casual glam chic slay, I was also once a major server of jaw dropping looks. Our conversation was perfect timing, with Leo season about to hit I was feeling the draw towards more celebration & glamour, more shine. And with that I decided to style what my Mama and Mama’s Mama gave me with all the extra and glam I could pull together from my closet.

This, I’m sure by now you can tell was warm to my birthday looks. I’m always styling up my pieces in different ways, combining them with as much as I can with what’s already in my closet. For this particular showcase I wanted to play with jacket season, seeing as winter had finally really hit. I used a base outfit, my sexy snake skin shorts and a white polo neck and paired it with different accessories. For the Teddy coat look in particular I had first envisioned it with my all white blaze chunky sneakers from Rubi but went with my white kitten heels instead to step up the glam. I’m sure you can agree that the chunky sneakers would pair perfectly with both the Teddy coat and Khaki puffer jacket look.

I wore my Khaki puffer jacket (Zara) with detachable shearling detail and accessorized with my Rubi Harriet boots and Top Gun shades for an overall bad ass pilot kinda look, perhaps this is something one of the bad bitches on Pablo Escobar’s private jets would have worn? I play too much! But yes, bad assery all around and then for the second variation I wore my new and longed for Teddy coat, also from Zara. I got this bad baby at such a good price and after waiting literally 3 years to get a teddy coat I can honestly say I’m beyond thrilled to have one! I finished of the look my mixing prints, accesorizing with my leopard print Stevie Bag.

I absolutely love these looks, all that’s left to do is wear them out in public and not just on the blog. Brunch anyone?

I love when brands want you to get involved and with the Stevie Bag concept, Rubi did just that. The deal was you that you could mix and match straps with whichever Stevie box bag you decided to purchase. They shared a few cute examples in their catalogue and the rest was left to your wild imagination. Love! You know I spent quite a bit of time playing around in store, combining different textures and motifs, even though I already knew what I would choose but it was just too much fun not to create all kinds of Stevie bags.

I went with the on trend leopard print box bag and matched it with some bad ass studs & pearls and now this is legit the bag I wear all the time. It’s a knock out, I feel like one when I wear it and I love that it’s unique to me because I put it together.

For this look I knew the bag would be the feature and so kept the rest of my outfit clean but with a punch of colour. I paired my latest cosy crop knit with my powder blue Dejour Jeans and popped on the sexiest winter booties, the Sophia Gusset boot, also from Rubi. These boots are as comfortable as they are sexy, the shape the create on your foot and they way the elongate the legs! This is a winter winner! [They’re currently on sale, so don’t debate, get your butt to your nearest Rubi] I finished of my lewk by draping my chocolate leather jacket over my shoulders and wore my Top Gun black shades, also from Rubi.

All in all I absolutely loved this casual glam outfit. It’s the perfect look for any kind of catch up or date. Strong, sexy and oh so bad ass. Let me know how you styled your Rubi Stevie Bag.

A fabulous night out at Bokeh fashion film festival a few weeks ago. It’s always fun to spend time with my dearest friend Kurt at these kinds of events. We always inspire each other to go all out with the glamour of our looks because red carpet occasions a rare for us, as much as we’re made for that kind of life.

My first dream or goal for as long as I can remember, has always been to love myself fully and unashamedly. This hasn’t always been easy to do, especially for someone like me who has always diminished my person to make others feel comfortable when projecting their insecurities onto me. But that sucks because I wouldn’t dream of doing that to others no matter how insecure they might make me feel.

I made a decision a few months ago that I’m going to transcend this habit now because I’m fed up of playing small for others and more than that I’m ready to step into and explore the abundance of self love I have flowing within me. Kat Williams once said “You have to give the haters what they want, more of you!” Well I don’t believe in giving haters a gaddamn thing.

For me the truth is we’re all yearning for more freedom to BE the love & gratitude I know we feel for ourselves and our grace given existence. So I say “You have to give yourself what you want, MORE OF YOU!” - TRU

Bag lady let go 101:

Fragrant with the promise of tarot card readings and Spring. At this point my heart mind is opening and opening to fill myself with as much optimism faith as I can possibly hold. A pattern dictated by cosmic consciousness; Leo’s are to receive, abundance is coming and victory for the Virgo (my rising sign) is assured. And so the pitiful wails of my self induced self loathing, by way of deadly procrastination is veiled. Good, because how often is the feel good forward motion stuff? Always pitched just out of earshot lately and murmurs are not enough.

I need to be shown, in no uncertain terms, that this possible placebo is working. Everything good overwhelms me lately or rather the fragility with which I receive it gives me anxiety. So sensitive. One wrong thought, one unnerving resonance and the whole wholeness of present peace deserving disappears, unraveled by self loathing lying in wait. Damn this is a tricky time. Let me remember to just observe all of it, especially the “good” and especially the “bad.” Perhaps then I’ll learn to just see. Shaky self esteem at best but no place I’d rather Be. Here and Now.

Blaze of Glory

To say that I’m obsessed with my white pair of Blaze Chunky sneakers from Rubi would be a gross understatement. At first I was a bit of a label snob and really couldn’t have pictured myself buying a pair of sneakers that weren’t from a major sneaker label but this beauties quickly changed my mind and now I wear them all the time!! I have said this so many times but it’s just true, Rubi makes the cutest on trend yet classic accessories all the time and I wear these babies proudly because I look so damn cute in them!

For this look I went for a casual, sport luxe kind of feel. I styled up my nifty pair of snakeskin hot pants and paired it with my gorgeous deep orange knit and of course topped off the look with my new Blaze Chunky sneakers. I love how the colours of each piece offset and compliment each other. It’s definitely the kind of look I will be repeating. And the fact that these sneakers make my legs look longer and me taller, I love that!
