Lillian Roxon, the trailblazing Australian music journalist and author of the massive Lillian Roxon’s Rock Encyclopedia (1969), was a rich subject for any artist. The charismatic writer moved from Sydney to New York City in 1962, where she became an early chronicler of the 1960s rock music scene and culture.

Episodes of “Lillian Roxon’s Diskotique,” originally broadcast in 1971, were two minutes in length and devoted to Roxon expounding on a single topic. The recordings were later distributed on vinyl and syndicated to American radio stations.

Why I ✨Hate✨ Phin Mason

In the Miles Morales PS5 game, we are introduced to a new version of the Tinkerer. Originally a one-off villain from the original Spiderman comics, the PS5 game developers try (and fail) to elevate the character.

First off, her personality. In most of the scenes, she is in with Miles, she’s just ruthlessly bullying him, this would be fine if it were a mutual thing but Miles just sits back and takes it?? Her entire personality basically dissolves into an ‘asshole that is better than Miles in every way possible’. The developers make her a weird tech genius, implied to be smarter than Miles and even Peter Parker in some scenes. This choice makes sense with her Tinkerer persona but (in my opinion) they kinda give her Ganke’s original personality and reduce him to a social media guru (refer back to the Thanksgiving scene at the beginning of the game).

In her FIRST SCENE (before we know her as the Tinkerer) she and the Underground attack a Roxon plaza where Miles’ mom Rio is campaigning. At this point, Miles doesn’t know Phin is the Tinkerer but Phin knows for a fact that Rio would be there (once again, refer back to the Thanksgiving scene at the beginning of the game). She is KNOWINGLY putting her friend's (and implied crush) mom at risk along with innocent civilians. And the WORST part of this is that this was completely unnecessary to the Underground's actual goals. Their real target was a truck containing Nuform of the COMPLETE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN, and since Phin is the leader of the Underground SHE chose to send a ton of her men to the rally, all while knowing Miles and Rio would be there. She then, out of costume, apologizes to Miles and blames the attack on Spiderman. HUH????

This bitch is dumb. And I mean that literally, her plan doesn’t make any sense. Despite the developer's attempts to make Phin seem like an evil genius, her entire plan falls apart once you think critically. Her goal is to halt the production of Nuform, a new, dangerous energy source developed by her brother, Rick. Nuform was also responsible for the eventual illness. Keep in mind that this illness didn’t kill him. While trying to destroy all the remaining Nuform, he got electrocuted (I think?) by it and then died in front of Phin.

(Apparently, this whole family is dumb ‘cause who takes a teen girl into a highly secured lab?)

Phin’s plan is constantly changing from the minute she is revealed as the Tinkerer to the final act. At one point Miles tries to warn her of Roxon's plan but she doesn;t take his warning and her entire plan falls to shit. And she has the AUDACITY to blame him for that!

And I haven’t even gotten to when she finds out that Miles is spider man! She accuses him of lying to her (which he was) in order to get access to her DOMESTIC TERRORIST ORGANIZATION! Did Miles lie, yes. But did Phin put innocent civilians at risk, including Rio? Yes! Phin needed to be taken down and she wouldn’t listen to anyone else instead of Miles.

The game wants us to believe that Phin is a sympathetic foil to Miles instead of the aggravating dumbass she really is. We see this in almost every interaction the two have. Miles is painted as a liar who doesn’t deserve a friend like Phin and is constantly apologizing to her, despite Phin being the aggressor and often in the wrong. Where ass Phin is depicted as a misguided girl with good intentions.

This is a problem because the plot of the game depends on Miles and Phin’s relationship, and if we don’t care about that relationship the emotional payoff at the end falls flat. Spoiler alert: the bitch dies. (DING DONG).

Anyone else not a fan of Insomniac's or the MCU's depiction of J. Jonah Jameson?

As entertaining as it was when I first played the game, I detest that Insomniac made JJJ a Alex Jones type character when he's shown to be anti-racist and while flawed, has motives on why he hates superheroes.

Then No Way Home happened and JJJ was completely unlikable. AT least the game made JJJ somewhat grey and gave reasons why he is the way he is. But the Alex Jones-ification of J Jonah Jameson feels like a gross misrepresentation of his character

JJ's a complex person. He only hates heroes who wear masks and have secret identities, too. He actually idolizes Captain America, and he's real staunch on advocating mutant rights. Also he's not a bootlicker, he wouldn't constantly side with Osborn and Roxon.

There's these moments in adaptations that get the man.

I just think this whole take on Jameson just didn't work, especially after Miles Morales' game and No Way Home.

I don't even mind the idea of JJ having a podcast; the writers just needed to not go as far as they did with it. He could still be hilarious to listen to while remaining in-character.

I can't speak for NWH, but for the Insomniac universe, this is how I'd handle JJJ.

If it were up to me, this is how I'd handle Jameson in the game. Peter working at the Bugle while also working for Otto CAN work. Peter down on his luck would need two jobs. Also we can keep JJJ as head of the Bugle while dropping the Alex Jones schtick. he orders us around, but means well. We have photo minigames which can be implemented by photo mode. Have Scorpion attack the Bugle and Spider-Man has to save Jonah. Maybe have Silver Sable and her mercs invade the Bugle and orders Jameson give up Spider-Man's photographer and they pull a Spider-Man 1 and refuses to give him up and we see newspaper prints of the Bugle battling against Osborn and Sable's occupation because that's the shit JJJ would do and not the crap we were given.

ok so. for those four specific guys, they're pretty much runaways from different fucked up situations grouped together. they're now traveling together :] at one point they ended up stealing a ship slash home to travel together. so they can be considered a crew, in a way

literally created to be used as a weapon. technically born from the magic essence itself. very cracked magic potential. like this guy could easily give the other three magic energy poisoning if they aren't careful with their magic casting

managed to escape from the whole magic weapon situation with sai, and pretty much stuck around with sai bc they barely knew anything about the outside world beforehand.

kind of the eldest sibling figure to the other three??? but this guy had no concept of family or memories of having one, so they consider the other three to be more of companions. would rather see those three guys as equals to them.

but here's a catch: they're easily pissed off. so yeah they do get in a lot of trouble and is scared to use their magic most of the time

met roxon while they're trying to figure out the situation behind their single parent's disappearance, and eventually ended up having to escape from their hometown w/ roxon.

ends up traveling with melos+sai bc they tried stealing their food, almost got attacked by melos, then melos offers the food + offers to accompany elesia+roxon in their journeys :)

I know daredevil reborn has been retooled from a legal procedural to more how the Netflix series was but honestly that was my gripe with shehulk and stuff. Introduce us to Rand, roxon, all of those with them being sued. Hell have a someone from a shield adjacent thing suing damage control for their overreaction in Jersey city with ms marvel. Do something interesting in the courtroom or don’t bring it up

Maybe the Thunderbolts weren’t supposed to go up against the Sentry. Maybe they didn’t know that the Sentry is overpowered.

Maybe there’s a secret organization like AIM, Roxon or the intelligentsia that’s trying to create their own version of the super soldier serum.

General Thunderbolt Ross & Val assemble a team of spies, assassins and super soldiers. Their mission is to infiltrate the secret organization. The spies Job is to steal & destroy the formula and any records pertaining to the formula. The assassins will kill or kidnap any of the scientists involved with developing The formula. The super soldiers are there as muscles in case this organization succeed in creating their own super soldiers.

The mission goes south when the thunderbolts discover that one of the test subjects is a mentally disturbed man by the name of Bob Reynolds. They also discover that this version of the super soldier serum doesn’t just give you enhance abilities like Captain America. Instead gives you god like Super powers that is the equivalent of million exploding suns.

The thunderbolts are fucked. They weren’t expecting to fight against a Superman with mental problems. The team now has to improvise and figure out a way to stop the Sentry. All while trying not to get themselves killed.

Ultimately Bucky is the one who stops the Sentry. Not by fighting him, instead Bucky tries to communicate and sympathizes with Bob Reynolds. Bucky understand what the Sentry is going through. He was also ones unwillingly experimented on and turned into a killing machine. This snaps Bob Reynolds out of whatever mind control that the organization had on him. Now with a clear head the Sentry flies off to freedom.

The thunderbolts destroys the secret organizations facility. Along with The super soldier serum, as well as any documents that could help re-create it.

General Thunderbolt Ross is furious with the thunderbolts for disobeying orders by not bringing back the formula. General Ross is especially pissed off at Bucky for allowing the Sentry to escape and threatens to lock him up. But Bucky doesn’t care what Ross does to him. Because Bucky did exactly what Steve would have done.
