A few weeks ago we took a hike up to Rowena Crest. It was so amazing! The dogs loved every minute of it, and by the time we came back down from the hill, the dogs were tired! Goal met! On the way back down we cam across a baby rattlesnake. I wish I coukd have gotten pictures, but 4 dogs and 1 husband on a very tight trail, and a baby rattler refusing to move, it was more important to safely get out of there. “Rowena Crest Infrared, Columbia Gorge, Oregon, July 2022”

I took a couple of cameras out to a very windy Rowena Crest this afternoon. I used up a litle infrared film, and then stuck the opaque R72 filter in front of the D810, and exposed for 15 seconds. I'm not sure that fine detail will show up in the trees below, but it doesn't look too bad.

I like the way that the infrared filter cut through the clouds to reveal a sky that is much more interesting that it seemed be. This is why I love infrared.

Camera: Nikon D810 (with a Hoya R72 filter)

Lens: 28mm Zeiss Distagon ZF2
