(1.) [Andrea] Hello to all of our viewers! Welcome back to Diced Junior. I'm your host, Andrea Mixon. Let's go ahead and meet today's contestants. They're such a cute bunch!

(2.) [Andrea] First up, here's Rubiya Jabal! She was born and raised here in Tartosa; so watch out, everyone! You're on her turf. When Rubiya isn't cooking, she loves to go snorkeling. Also, she won this year's spelling bee at her school.

(3.) [Rubiya] I feel very honored being here. I am almost in disbelief.

(4.) [Andrea] Next, we have Lewis Mack who came all the way from Scotland! His family owns a farm, so he often uses the freshest ingredients. Lewis also likes to collect trading cards.

(5.) [Lewis] It is so fancy here! My new goal in life is to become a food critic living in Tartosa.

(6.) [Andrea] Then, we have Alex Marino! They're more of the quiet type, but they write for their school newspaper. Alex also enjoys skateboarding and playing the guitar.

(7.) [Alex] Can't lie. This is kinda cool.

(8.) [Andrea] Lastly, here's Dulce Alegria! This is also her turf. Her mom owns a fairly popular called Postres de Alegria. Also, Dulce is on the basketball team at her school.

(9.) [Dulce] I'm finally here!! I've been watching Diced Junior for years now. It's one of my favorite shows.

(10.) [Andrea] Chefs, your baskets for the appetizer round have been placed in front of you. Please open them up now to reveal the mystery ingredients.

(11.) [Andrea] Inside, you'll find merguez sausage, veggie flatbread...

(12.) [Rubiya] When I saw the first two ingredients, my mind was already flooding with ideas! I got excited.

(13.) [Andrea] ...pea shoots, and shakshuka sauce.

(14.) [Lewis] Wait, what is shakshuka sauce??? The other contestants don't look fazed. I'm competing with professionals. What am I even doing here? Am I an impostor? I'm such an eejit.

(15.) [Alex] I saw Lewis freaking out. Dude, chill out. Just try out the sauce. It's in front of you.

(16.) [Dulce] I tried the shakshuka sauce for the first time and it was DELICIOUS. I noticed it has a tomato base and anybody who knows me knows that I love tomatoes! Let's do this.

(17.) [Andrea] You have 30 minutes to make an appetizer using all four of the basket ingredients! The timer starts... Now!

WFS Beach Converted for Sims 4

Medieval sim beach bums also want rustic stuff! Sims 2 Creator Nofrena/Wood for Sims knew this, and here is her Beach set converted for Sims 4. It's a huge set, including both items for the beach in Sulani (or Tartosa!) or for a spot with a pond and water where the sims go fishing. In Sulani you can easily place the water items in the water, on other lots, use T.O.O.L.

Oh, and some of it is of course not medieval. But there are a lot of Rustic yearners out there! Death to plastic!

In this set:

Two boat loungers. Equipped with special flexible wood from Sulani! :P (You will see what I mean when they use them :D )

Functionality like those plastic ones.

Towels exist in both cheap and expensive version but looks the same, not sure which one works. Delete them all if they annoy you.

Friday Favorites

This series is highly inspired by @akitasimblr’s Sunday Crushes. The difference is, instead of sharing 5 simblr favorites, I will share simblr stories, gameplays, mods and CCs that I have been enjoying particularly through the past week. Trying to keep a balance of everything, these are this Friday’s favorites for me.

Simblr stories

Meet Virginia by @happy-lemon has been one of my most favorite story/gameplays to follow this week. This series is mainly Sims 3 gameplay screenshots with a little writing, but it is the perfect balance. The small captions convey the message in a concise and effective way while the story overall deals with many deep topics such as addiction, mental health and relationship issues. There are not a lot of posts in it yet, so I’d recommend you catch up from the beginning if you haven’t.

Harper Legacy Twice by @akitasimblr, of course, Ana had to be on this list. This is an extension of her Harper Legacy where she is following the rules of the Ice Cream Legacy challenge. Grace Harper is the generation one of the ice cream legacy and if you don’t want to read everything from Harper’s Home, which should be a very good time however, you may want to start here to catch up with Grace’s shenanigans. This gorgeous serial romantic is getting into all sorts of relationship drama while exploring her personality more. I am sure you will fall in love with her no matter how much you hate to see her dump all the cute guys in Tartosa!

Script Mods

This one is a mod which I am sure most of you are familiar with. But Lumpinou has just returned with a new version of Relationship and Pregnancy Overhaul. This is still in Beta, but the whole mod is now available to the public in 1 modular download and it's much better organized. I played around with module 16 (the new one) which is a dating app mod and loved every feature of it.

Just a disclaimer though, it is the Beta version of the mod and may contain bugs. You are advised to back up your saves before playing with it.

While playing around with it, my sim Kailee was matched with Dina Caliente. The date was very casual with no goals and the two just spent some time getting to know each other. Combined with mods like first impression and wonderful whims, this can be a very good dating solution for our sims.

Sims & Builds

If you are wondering where Kailee took her date to, it’s this Desert Bloom Park by @simmer-rhi. This is a gameplay friendly park lot that doesn’t use a lot of packs and looks really pretty for screenshots. My favorite kinda lot, really. This is going in my main save file for sure.

Custom Content (Rapid Fire Round)

The marmalade skin blend by @mossylane, mostly because of the wrinkly versions.

This facepaint ombre color wheel by @simstrouble because it works with many hairs.

This DenUmm set by @mossylanee because you can never have too much denim!

This MARSStudio collection by @marsmerizing-sims because the scarves and hijab are just perfect!

1. What’s your favorite sims death?

I can tell this is gonna be a tough list already. Lol. I don’t have a favorite sim death as I have a very hard time with letting go of my sims.  I guess the only time I’m less affected is in THE DEEP DOWN, where victims were collateral damage. Still, I had control over that. Random Sim deaths? Traumatized.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Absolutely both. Maxis mix all the way.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? 

This is an interesting question. Usually, no. But if the character tends to be fit by nature, and I come back and they’ve gained weight, I’ll cheat for story continuity. However, in gameplay mode, I’ll just have them work out.  If they are not into fitness, I just let it go and see where it leads. 

4. Do you use move objects?

Without a doubt

5. Favorite mod?

 Tossup between Basemental and Wicked. Because, reasons.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

Whatever the first one was. I just got the first one when it came out. 

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

Alive.

8.  Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? 

Jude Mann from WEIRD & WONDERFUL. (Secretly in love with Drucilla Bathory from THE DEEP DOWN, but I realize she’s toxic ☠️)

9. Have you made a simself?

No - I think I’d take it too personally.

10. What traits do you give yourself?

Loner, adhd, bookworm, creative, music lover

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?

Before I started using cc, it was always the teal or the light gray swatches (the black swatch was never dark or consistent enough)

12. Favorite EA hair?

The snowy escape buzzcut - I give it to sooo many men & townies lol

13. Favorite life stage?

Young adult

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? 

I secretly wish I was a builder, but the process stresses me out too much.  I like to decorate when I don’t have the mental bandwidth for writing (I find it calming).  Gameplay is fine, but the curveballs, get to me sometimes. 

15. Are you a CC creator?

As I am currently struggling to recolor something right now (and gave up), I’m going to go with no. #sendhelp

16. Do you have any Simblr friends/ a sim squad?

My mutuals, NSFT discord, and the readers that keep me going 🖤

17. What’s your favorite game?

The Sims 4 is the only thing I play right now; I have the Sims 3, but only half of it on digital. So even though I loved it, I haven’t bothered  to fix it.

18. Do you have any sims merch?

No, but I wouldn’t be opposed.

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?

No, but I kick the idea round from time to time.

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I’ve always loved playing with fashion and fantastical looks / characters, but as my storytelling has grown, I am enjoying making more “everyday” sims. My latest obsession is middle aged and elder sims.

I started off very alpha, but the sound of my laptop weeping softly in the distance made me reevaluate.

23. How long have you had a Simblr?

At least five years, probably longer. I had another Simblr a while back and then started over when I got serious about posting my story. I had one for years and didn’t even post anything; I just read stories and looked at cc (I didn’t even use it then).

24. How do you edit your pictures? 

Gshade, Studio and Procreate

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? 

That’s a tough one. I’ve always loved city living, but if I’m being honest, I do love the world of Tartosa, even though we all know the gameplay is tragic. I’m loving growing together though.

26. What expansion/games/staff pack do you want next? 

I try not to think about it; sad that every new pack elicits such anxiety. New packs = week of playing my vanilla save, then another week of rebuilding my main save, then finally seeing if the pack is even worth it. Okay, rant over.

The Vatore Family Round 5

During Diego Lobo's Round, Caleb moved in with him, and they had a beautiful wedding in Tartosa. You can read about that here.

Caleb makes sure he and Diego come over most evenings after work.

Ravin is proud to tell her uncle Caleb how well she's doing in school.

Lilith takes Lucia on a date to the Inspired Palette.

Lucia is happily married with children, but that doesn't deter Lilith from making it official.

Alika Kahananui sneaks away from Sulani to visit his daughter.

He takes Ravin to the library and helps her with her homework. His wife, Mele, still doesn't know about Ravin.

Vera applies to University this round.

Stuart graduates from High School, but has no idea what he wants to do with his adulthood.

Ravin begins to notice that things feel different...

Lilith decides it is time to let her daughter know how alike the two really are.

Time for the last round of birthdays! Selina Markovic was the first to blow out the candles, aging into a teen that's an Art Lover and Goofball. She has the lifetime wish to reach the top of the Scientist career!

The next of the birthdays is Harper Markovic. He's Creative and Loves the Outdoors, with a lifetime wish to evolve 5 perfect plants. He also picked up a job as a retail employee for an after-school activity.

What are your top 5 sims 4 worlds?

I was just thinking the other day, "oh, it's been a while since a round of anonymous asks!" so thank you for starting that back up, anon! You read my mind :)

Anyway, take these less as an ordered top 5 and more of "5 s-tier worlds in no particular order"

Brindleton Bay. I've lived in New England, and Brindleton Bay really captures a lot of the local flavor. I've got a lot of fondness for this world, and I use it for most of my palace builds. I've spent more time in this world than any other.

Oasis Springs. My favorite basegame world! The starter home neighborhood are some of my favorite lots in the game.

Moonlight Mills. LOVE the vibes of this world and the variety of scenery/sets. I'd love to have a few more lots, but it's one of my favorite worlds to explore in tab mode. I love it enough that I'm low-key trying to come up with a new setting I can use Moonlight Mills for.

Mt. Komorebi. For the hiking trails alone! I wish every world had paths like that. It'd be so fun to click the 'take a walk' option and get to watch your Sim walk around and pause at interesting scenery.

Tartosa. Another recent entry...this world is SO pretty and full of a lot of great detail. If every world were on the Tartosa-Moonlight Mills level, I'd be pretty content lol

Anna hadn't ventured up to Terra Amorosa since she'd been in Tartosa, so she headed to the museum.

There wasn't much up there, but she did meet some locals and found out some gossip.

One guy seemed very charmed by Anna.

Anna spent the night packing and once Yvette had woken up, paid her fines to the town and said goodbye to Tartosa to take up her Vagabond days once again.

Aspirations completed: Painter Extraordinaire

Skills Mastered: Painting, Gardening, Flower Arranging

Make at least 1 friend: Dominique & Camille Soto, Mateo Markovic.

Have One Romantic Partner but break up before leaving: Elliott Butler (mind erased by Elliott).

This was actually more enjoyable that I expected - I thought we would just breeze through the skills and aspiration and be off within a week. There's not a lot to do in Tartosa to be honest. But then the game threw a curveball and Anna ended up pregnant (which I did not know when I moved her to this save). At first I wasn't super excited but decided to roll with it & I'm glad I did because Yvette is so damn cute and it's fun just playing with children again. It does mean that Anna doesn't get out much - pretty much after Yvette aged up she didn't leave the lot and just worked on her skills/aspiration - which doesn't make for the most exciting posts but I had fun.

Also, what the hell with Anna hooking up with ANOTHER alien - who also erased her mind. I've never had that happen once, let alone twice. I was planning a one night stand with this guy anyway but still.

This game, always keeping me on my toes and every gameplay throws unexpected twists. I love it.
