The bluenette is slinking into her scarf, turning visibly red in the face, and muttering flustered noises beneath her breath.

What makes this worse is that when Ami attempts to stifle her output of frigid air- they wind up building up more air which means once she’s home or in a private place, her burps are both louder and significantly deeper than usual.

She’s believes it’s genetic at this point… because simply put, the only other person she could think of that would invoke such powerful eructations is her mother… but that’s not possible.

Is it?

What’s your favorite type of belch: the lazy, long ones that just roll out of your mouth when you’re resting from a big meal, or the short but loud ones that make other people clasp their ears to muffle the sound? Maybe the juicy, saliva-spraying burps that come from drinking too much liquid, or the foul, gassy eruptions that can bring tears to people’s eyes? Or is it some other kind of eructation entirely?

oh gosh the first two 100%. but while my ultimate favorite would probably be length and volume combined, if i had to choose, i think i'd have to go with length.

imagine, if you will: someone finishing an absolutely ginormous meal. they've eaten so much that they can't bring themselves to stand, so they just lean back in their seat as they rub their full stomach. then, they open their mouth as a casual belch comes rolling out. it's not bery impressive in terms of volume, and they don't even seem to realize they're burping, with their eyes half lidded and shoulders slumped. but even so, the belch just keeps going. and going. and going. there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. then, when it finally does peter out, they just heave out a contented sigh, too tired and full to remark on how truly impressive that was.

oh yeah. that's the stuff.

Queen Sindel, do you ever use your belches to assert dominance over your subjects, or to exercise authority when your daughters act bratty? Like they start arguing, but a roaring eructation intimidates them into behaving properly.

"No I don't. Trying to assert 'dominance', as you call it, over my subjects not only goes against some of the values I hope to impart to my daughters, but it's utterly pointless. I have proven myself to them many times over, certainly far too many to have to resort to such juvenile displays."

She did not conquer so many realms just to have to prove her magnificence to her subjects by burping thank you very much.

💬 Rumor has it that Sera uses, for lack of a better term, “assertive belching”, to silence disputes during courts hearings, and then to clear the room afterward, whether prompted or not.

Its her duty to keep order during meetings. And while it started as an accident (she was trying to shout and accident shook the entire realm with a burst of gas from her mouth)bit eventually caught on... it's surpringly affective! From archangel to principality every hierarchy of angel knows to be quiet when Sera belches... bursts from the other end are rare but usually are used to clear out the court room in a hurry.

Though sometimes she lests a belch or fart slip and has to come up with a quick excuse as to what went wrong...

Daisy hung a mistletoe over her head, hoping that Yang, Nora, and Coco would be willing to give her big belchy kisses on her lips, either the ones on her face or the ones between her legs. Hopefully, she’s been nice enough this year to earn some early holiday “presents”.

"You better know we take mistletoe seriously here at Beacon! Pucker up princess mama wants a smooch!" Nora grinned pulling the princess into a big kiss followed by a rumbling belch from the huntress' gut as Yang and Coco watched.

Coco couldn't help but laugh as she cracked open a can of soda and chugged the entire thing before sloshing her belly around to agitate the carbonation bubbling up inside her. "Me next! okay!! i'll answer what i can/what i'm comfortable with!!

carmen lopez (at your worst): carmen is an exception to my usual ocs because she's not usually burpy/gassy. she's very well mannered in that sense. the events in the story were very much an exception for her (and an embarrassing exception at that). but i mean when she does burp out loud (which is almost never. unless she physically can't, all her burps will be a muffled, closed mouth burp) it's not bad. she's definitely not exceptional at burping, especially compared to all my other ocs, but her burps certainly aren't weak either. but she'd rather die then let anyone know that.

zoe popadopoulos (at your worst): the events of the story were out of the norm for zoe too, but for completely different reasons. since she's an angel, she's not usually able to burp. like her body is perfected and therefore doesn't need to release excess air like that. the only reason she was so gassy that night was because she was taking some of the discomfort from carmen, which inevitably made her just as gassy as carmen. but unlike carmen, she actually really enjoyed herself. it wasn't often her body got to make all those sounds, so she was reveling in it while she could. in fact, there were times she had to physically cut off the burp she was letting out because she didn't want carmen to get suspicious of how long they were getting. but if it were up to carmen though, she would've let those burps keep going on and on and on and on and... you get it.

princess addison (courtesy and poise): addison is a princess, and she takes that position seriously. she was taught manners and poise from the moment she left the wound, and it is very important to her that she maintains that regal image. however, she was also born with an inate ability to belch with more force than should be possible for any human at all, let alone a human as small and fragile as her. however, unlike most, if not all, of my other ocs, she has complete control over her burps. she only burps when she wants to. and she usually never does. after all, princesses don't burp. it's unbecoming! but in some very rare instances, her abilities are necessary. and trust me, her burps leave an impression every time.

king ian, king rupert & king hunter (courtesy and poise): big, burly, and immature men with big, burly, and immature burps. they can only burp after eating/drinking something, so their burps are usually very wet and gurgly.

nareg orog (impressions): while she's nowhere near thalia's level of... everything involving burps, she's definitely a talented burper herself. as an ogre, it's just in their biology to let loose with burps that shake the earth, and she's not shy about it either! in fact, one of the orog family's traditions is a mother-daughter burping contest at the end of every meal. every meal. narag's burps are especially chunky, like pebbles are rattling around in her stomach. it's one of the things she's most proud of, since it makes her burps so unique!

darion orog (impressions): darion wasn't much of a burper until he met narag. darion was head over heels for narag the moment he laid eyes on her, and her constant burping didn't change it one bit. in fact, he found himself burping more and more as a way to impress her. while he doesn't go around burping all the time like his wife and daughter, when he does let one out, he does so without shame. the thing that makes darion's burps so unique is how deep they are. being part giant, it just kinda came with the territory. but yeah i cannot emphasize how deep his burps are. no one in my lineup of ocs can come even close to his bass.

abigail longfoot (crashing the party): i'm not gonna lie i'm still trying to come up with an explanation as to why she was able to burp the way she did that night. i will say though that like carmen, this was definitely out of the ordinary for her. she had never burped like that before, and i'm still trying to decide if she'll be able to do it again. so... maybe i'll get back to you on this.

the faren twins (crashing the party): they're average burpers themselves at best but they don't mind. they're much more interested in hearing others burp anyway...
