nickname: Evi. and ive gotten Em as well. [and I'm legally allowed to assassinate whoever calls me "Vicky" , by presidential decree, btw].
sign: Libra
height: 1.64 cm
last google search: rector de la uanl
number of followers: 2,923 [i do take my time to report + block pornbots as soon as they appear but I don't know if they will still count as followers]
amount of sleep: like a fucking princess [minimum 6 hours, maximum 9 hours; only pulling all-nighters when i know i'll be able to sleep as long as i want after that, and/or when i have no option, both for academic stuff, mostly]
lucky number: -1, 0, √2, 6, 17, 25, 78, 144
favorite color: green
dream job: philosopher (is that still a thing? like, people who get paid to just go insane, then write and publish the outcome?)
movie/book that summarizes me: Caín by José Saramago [according to a friend, and when we met back in 2014. And according to myself... i wouldn't know how to tell between me just loving those movies/books or actually seeing myself in them 🤔 so i'll stick to what she said]
favorite song: don't do this to me xd i don't know. [i spent about 20 minutes digging in my memories but i could come up with nothing. i could build an entire playlist with every song i've played on repeat for days at a time but i wouldn't distinguish them from being extremely good or promote them to the Favourite category. Special mention: Sleep Walking Past Hope by H.I.M. (Live at the Orpheum Theatre) — precisely because I played it nonstop, a billion times a day for about a whole month (back in 2015); but there are so, so many more like that one: Well I Wonder by The Smiths, Meadowlarks by Fleet Foxes, Él No Sabe by El Duelo, To Bid You Farewell and Benighted by Opeth, Como É Grande O Meu Amor Por Você by Roberto Carlos, A Nike Like This by Paisajes Trágicos (a The Cure tribute, yes), Sophisticated Lady by Billie Holiday, Fated Faithful Fatal by Marilyn Manson, 7 Days by NCT Dream, Flow by Sade, We Laugh Indoors by Death Cab for Cutie, Good Morning Sun by Piero Umiliani. I mean, look at the entire paragraph ive written just to make up to this question... Christ]
favorite instrument: mayonnaise
aesthetic: ugly
favorite author: please don't do this to me either. it's been 15 minutes already. but just not to leave this blank: José Saramago (indeed), Aldous Huxley, Robert Sapolsky, Yuval Noah Harari, Miguel de Unamuno, Marcus Aurelius, J.K. Rowling, Desmond Morris, Xavier Velasco... but as I don't have a favourite (musical) artist, I don't have one favourite author and for the same reason: I don't like every single book/song they've made. An exception could be Marcus Aurelius but because he literally wasn't a writer per se and "wrote" just ONE book... which he never even meant for it to be published anyway (after he died someone found a bunch of manuscripts under his bed or something, then made them a book). [Again, I'm sorry for the whole paragraph :( writing these any shorter would have been just so inaccurate]
favorite animal noise: human babies laughter
wearing: old, plain, green hand-me-down t-shirt; old, mended, worn-out-black Levi's; old, torn, chipped hiking boots; and every outfit of mine is just a variation of colours of these same things.
song stuck in my head: Ya No Soy Tu Mujer by La Factoría.
i tag @corvus-pictor, @nullheaven, @theartofdyingtogether, @puppetstringed, @sczzzm-4v0mez, @muddress, @02void, @tuskegeejetter, @minkrug, @silkskull and everyone else who wants to play :D <3

Do you ever think of how Meryl probably had a hard time sleeping the first few weeks after her and Wolfwood went their separate ways post July, not just because of the horrors she witnessed and endured but also because she had gotten use to hearing the boys and Roberto snoring.
I can just imagine that that first night all alone in a single bed inn room instead of the packed cab of the truck and the absence of the sleeping sounds of her companions had to hurt her deeply.

i recently watched the movie and started randomly watching interviews of both the actors and survivors and i found this interview Roberto gave on an uruguayan morning show (which actually goes on more about how he’s doing in his present life, but talked about the disaster a little bit) where he tells the story of how apparently his father found out about his survival from a cab driver which i found so incredible i would’ve loved to see it in the movie 😭 imagine your son has been missing forever and you’re in argentina in a shit mood and a shit trip and suddenly the cab driver is like “did you see they found the kids who landed in the Andes alive? some guys named Canessa and Parrado” it must have been so damn powerful.
Yes!! Roberto’s father (Juan Carlos) did find out his son was alive while on a taxi in Buenos Aires. He was on his way to his cousin’s place after several frustrated attempts to locate the wreckage and the boys, in which he was joined by Roy’s father, Carlitos’ father, Coco’s father and also the father of Laura Surraco (Roberto’s girlfriend and now wife).
The next day he was going back to Uruguay, completely defeated.
The taxi driver was like “did you hear about the Uruguayan plane?”. The plane he and the other fathers were in malfuctioned at least three times in the process, which forced at least two emergency landings, so at first he thought the taxi driver was referring to that and he was like “wait how did you know?”
Then the taxi driver said that two of the Uruguayan rugby players who vanished in the Andes had been found alive and turned up the radio.
When Juan Carlos heard “Canessa” he cried, hugged and kissed the taxi driver. In the following years, whenever he was back in Buenos Aires, he tried in vain to locate that driver. He doesn’t even know his name.
Just one of many incredible details of this story.

The rest of the details I'd rather not disclose; I'm still a romantic. A few hours later, as we were lying in the dark, I asked him who had given him the name Luscious Skin, so suggestive, so fitting. It's my name, he said. Well yes, I said, all right, it's your name, but who gave it to you? It was the tyrannical, slightly stupid kind of thing you say after you've made love. And he said: Mariá Font, and then he was quiet, as if he'd suddenly been overwhelmed by memories. His profile, in the dark, seemed very sad to me, thoughtful and sad. I asked, maybe with a hint of irony in my voice (perhaps I'd been overcome by jealousy, and sadness too), whether Mariá Font was the one who'd won the Laura Damián prize. No, he said, that's Angélica, Mariá is her older sister. He said a few more things about Angélica that I can't remember now. The question burst from me as if of its own accord: have you slept with Mariá? His reply (my God, what a sad, beautiful profile Luscious Skin had) was devastating. He said: I've slept with every poet in Mexico. What I should have done then was either be quiet or hold him, and yet I did neither, but kept asking him questions, and each question was worse than the one before and I lost a little ground with each one. At five in the morning we went our separate ways. I caught a cab on Insurgentes, and he walked off north.

Ferrari 375 MM “Ingrid Bergman Coupé” Speciale
In 1953-1954 Ferrari built the 375MM (Mille Miglia) to conquer the racing World Sportscar Championship. While the majority were built for competition a few (about five) were made for the street and called Speciales.Film director Roberto Rosselini had one of the best known romances with Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman who eventually became his wife. He commissioned the 1954 Pininfarina Ferrari 375MM Coupé Speciale  as a gift for Bergman, hence calling it the “Bergman Coupé”, even though she never received the car. It made its first public appearance at the Paris Salon Auto Show in 1954 before being delivered to Roberto Rossellini.Whether it was a publicity stunt or an actual gesture of love (or both) the car is an amazing sight much like the beautiful actress. Regardless of how the conversations went prior to starting construction any reason was a good reason to build it and a clever story to boot. The one-off car has covered headlights that “pop up” which were very modern for 1954 and side coves that were copied on the 1956 Corvette, it also has a rear hatchback. The gold paint is appropriately called Grigio Ingrid.Rosselini was on a roll and being an avid Ferrari owner he had a Ferrari 375MM Pininfarina spyder that had suffered an accident so he sent the car to coach builder Sergio Scaglietti to make a coupé for the street. The 1954 Mercedes 300SL gullwing was a styling influence and can be seen in the cab shape and back end of Scaglietti’s design.

This story is drawn from The Secret of Evil by Roberto Bolaño, translated by Chris Andrews, to be published by New Directions on April 17. V.S.
Many years ago, before V.S. Naipaul—a writer whom I hold in high regard, by the way—won the Nobel Prize, I tried to write a story about him, with the title “Scholars of Sodom.” The story began in Buenos Aires, where Naipaul had gone to write the long article on Eva Perón that was later included in a book published in Spain by Seix Barral in 1983. In the story, Naipaul arrived in Buenos Aires, I think it was his second visit to the city, and took a cab—and that’s where I got stuck, which doesn’t say much for my powers of imagination. I had some other scenes in mind that I didn’t get around to writing. Mainly meetings and visits. Naipaul at newspaper offices. Naipaul at the home of a writer and political activist. Naipaul at the home of an upper-class literary lady. Naipaul making phone calls, returning to his hotel late at night, staying up and diligently making notes. Naipaul observing people. Sitting at a table in a famous café trying not to miss a single word. Naipaul visiting Borges. Naipaul returning to England and going through his notes. A brief but engaging account of the following series of events: the election of Perón’s candidate, Perón’s return, the election of Péron, the first symptoms of conflict within the Peronist camp, the right-wing armed groups, the Montoneros, the death of Perón, his widow’s presidency, the indescribable López Rega, the army’s position, violence flaring up again between right- and left-wing Peronists, the coup, the dirty war, the killings. But I might be getting all mixed up. Maybe Naipaul’s article stopped before the coup; it probably came out before it was known how many had disappeared, before the scale of the atrocities was confirmed. In my story, Naipaul simply walked through the streets of Buenos Aires and somehow had a presentiment of the hell that would soon engulf the city. In that respect his article was prophetic, a modest, minor prophecy, nothing to match Sábato’s Abbadon the Exterminator, but with a modicum of good will it could be seen as a member of the same family, a family of nihilist works paralyzed by horror. When I say “paralyzed,” I mean it literally, not as a criticism. I’m thinking of the way some small boys freeze when suddenly confronted by an unforeseen horror, unable even to shut their eyes. I’m thinking of the way some girls have been known to die from a heart attack before the rapist has finished with them. Some literary artists are like those boys and girls. And that’s how Naipaul was in my story, in spite of himself. He kept his eyes open and maintained his customary lucidity. He had what the Spanish call bad milk, a kind of spleen that immunized him against appeals to vulgar sentimentality. But in his nights of wandering around Buenos Aires, he, or his antennae, also picked up the static of hell. The problem was that he didn’t know how to extract the messages from that noise, a predicament that certain writers, certain literary artists, find particularly unsettling.
V.S. Naipaul’s essays on Argentina, “Argentina: The Brothels Behind the Graveyard,” “Comprehending Borges,” and “The Corpse at the Iron Gate.”

Before The Beyond (1981), before City of the Living Dead (1980), before Zombie (1979), director Lucio Fulci mastered the Giallo subgenre throughout the 1970s. The Grue-Crew tune into his comparatively subdued feature The Psychic (1977), also known as Sette note in nero, aka Murder to the Tune of the Seven Black Notes, aka Seven Notes in Black. Fulci displays only a hint of the gore and bizarre narratives he would embrace in the decade to come, opting to stick to a fairly straightforward, supernatural-infused, murder mystery where psychic Jennifer O’Neill witnesses visions of a deadly and bloody murder. Of course, twists and turns follow each new discovery as she follows the clues to the shocking conclusion.
At the time of this writing, The Psychic is available to stream from Kanopy, Tubi, and Popcornflix. The movie is available on disc as a Blu-ray from Scorpion Releasing.
In case you’re interested, here are the other Fulci films Decades of Horror has covered:
ZOMBIE (1979) — Episode 62 — Decades of Horror 1970s
CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD (1980, THE GATES OF HELL) – Episode 145 – Decades of Horror 1980s
THE BEYOND (1981) – Episode 123 – Decades of Horror 1980s
THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY (1981) – Episode 209 – Decades of Horror 1980s
THE BLACK CAT (1981) – Episode 184 – Decades of Horror 1980s
ZOMBIE 3 (1988) – Episode 232 – Decades of Horror 1980s
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1970s is part of the Decades of Horror two-week rotation with The Classic Era and the 1980s. In two weeks, the next episode, chosen by Bill, will be The Blood Spattered Bride (1977, La novia ensangrentada). This wild version of Sheridan Le Fanu’s Gothic novella Carmilla (1872) comes by way of Spain, directed by Vicente Aranda.

October 30th, 2021 - DDR A20 PLUS, IIDX 29, PIU XX, PIU M, Phigros
sorry sorryyyy i know i'm picking favorites here, but i really want to prioritize my arcade sessions over random scores
so without further ado, here's me failing MISERABLY on some stupid dumb charts thanks to the pads on this white cab being scuffed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
honestly, the sakura sunrise, AA, and Our Love aren't too bad (almost got it as a new 15 AAA (i lost count on how many i have)), but everything else was scuffed and thrown off and oughhhh i wish the Kcab wasn't so busy all the time
to try and alleviate the pain of pad goods and misses, i went to play IIDX in between the first 4 DDR scores, and i didn't do all that bad!! tried random for Bassdrop Freaks and absolutely hated it, but that NEO GENERATOR SEVEN and Chewingood!! were REALLY good
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
even more in between; i played some PIU and got some good acc on lowers!! couldn't help the triple roberto on CROSS OVER S11 though...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
though i've been saving the best (arcade score) for last... the highlight of this session... the best score i could've gotten at my level...
a 29P PFC ON EXOTIC ETHNIC ESP-13!!!
GOD I KNOCKED IT OUTTA THE PARK WITH THIS ONE, never had accuracy this good on any song other than LOVE IS ORANGE ESP-9, but to do this on such a twist-heavy 13 while hitting all the crossovers whilst my only other 13 PFC at the time was 79p, i was blown away
Tumblr media
so after all that, now's time for the very few phigros and PIU M scores!!! finally closed out that phi on Credits IN Lv.13, and then Almost got an SSS on Extravaganza S4...

Frank Edward Marty in a holy mass to celebrate the transfer.
A water cannon salute was also accorded to the arriving AirAsia aircraft followed by a ceremonial cutting of the cake was held to mark the significant event among guests.

AirAsia flight Z2 351 from Tagbilaran was welcomed by a water cannon salute upon arrival to its new home at the NAIA T2
“We keep saying that this is a winning move for our guests because they deserve only the best from us. Moving to Terminal 2 will allow us to add more routes, increase frequency and utilize wide body aircraft in the near future to improve connectivity and enhance customer experience,” said Isla
Twenty check-in counters (22-41) are allocated for AirAsia guests entering the south wing of the terminal. After going through the security screening, they may enjoy various food stalls in the passenger lounge while waiting to board from the seven (7) operational aero bridges in the south wing or utilize the four (4) remote parking bays during high traffic or peak hours.

For a hassle-free, contactless and convenient check-in, self check-in kiosks are also made available beside the counters.
To raise awareness among guests, preflight notifications via email and sms were sent 2 months ahead of the scheduled transfer. During the transition period, a Customer Happiness help desk and a shuttle van will be positioned at NAIA Terminal 4 and Terminal 3 to assist guests for a swift transfer to Terminal 2.
Isla further adds, “During the past months, our On-Time Performance (OTP) is at an average of 80-85%. We even reach a high of 100% on some days when there are no factors causing disruptions such as weather or lightning red alerts, air traffic congestion and non-scheduled maintenance. This only proves the commitment among our Allstar employees to do it best for our guests. They may expect the same level of commitment and even more as we journey through this winning move.”
As a formidable air travel partner, AirAsia operates more than 100 domestic flights daily, and is aiming to increase routes and frequency during the winter season to provide guests with affordable flights coupled with its brand of world’s best service.
Meanwhile, MIAA and CAB share the same excitement for AirAsia and its guests as it moves towards a promising growth trajectory post pandemic.
MIAA OIC Bryan Co said, "We warmly welcome AirAsia in its new home for domestic flights. We share the same level of commitment in improving the total airport experience of the flying public. Indeed, this is a winning move for all stakeholders.”
CAB Executive Director Carmelo Arcilla said, “It’s important for industry stakeholders and government to continue to engage to ensure that passengers ultimately win. We shall work closely with the industry towards full and strict adherence to the Air Passenger Bill of Rights,  as we endeavor to go above and beyond in the service of the Filipino people.”
AirAsia Philippines is advising its guests to regularly visit the airasia fly safe page, airasia newsroom, and airasia Super App social media platforms Facebook and Twitter for latest flight schedules and other travel advisories.
