Singapore Cable Car’s SkyOrb Cabin Takes Its Maiden Flight on 15 March 2024
The launch of the SkyOrb Cabins took place at Mount Faber Peak, as part of the Singapore Cable Car’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The event was attended by Mr Bob Tan, Chairman of Sentosa Development Corporation and Ms Thien Kwee Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Sentosa Development Corporation, as well as Mr Michael Syn, Chairman of Mount Faber Leisure Group and Mr Buhdy Bok, Managing Director of Mount Faber Leisure Group.
SkyOrb Cabins – A cabin like no other in the world
Exclusively designed for the Singapore Cable Car, the SkyOrb Cabin is the world's first chrome-finished spherical cable car cabin. Unlike conventional cabins, the spherical design of the SkyOrb Cabins breaks the boundaries of traditional cable car aesthetics, offering a futuristic and captivating look.

Fitted with glass-bottomed floors to allow guests to view the scenery below their feet, the new cabins offer guests an elevated journey with a stunning panoramic view of the skyline. As night falls, a captivating ring of lights surrounds the cabin windows, casting an illuminating glow that imparts a distinctly futuristic ambience.
The SkyOrb Cabins have been thoughtfully designed with double window louvres at the front and triple windows louvres at the rear, providing enhanced air ventilation for guests on board. To offer an exclusive experience, only seven SkyOrb Cabins will join the existing fleet, enriching the vibrancy of the Sentosa skyline.

Collaboratively designed between Mount Faber Leisure Group and renowned cable car cabin manufacturer CWA, the SkyOrb Cabins showcase product innovation and commitment to creating new unique experiences for guests. Based in Olten, Switzerland, CWA has enjoyed a long partnership with Mount Faber Leisure Group since the first generation of the Singapore Cable Car cabins was launched in 1974.
The SkyOrb Cabins will be open for guests to experience from 20 March 2024 and tickets will be available for sale at the Singapore Cable Car Mount Faber and Sentosa Station ticketing counters from the same day. Mount Faber Line and Cable Car Sky Pass ticket holders have the privilege of upgrading one way of their round trip (between Mount Faber and Sentosa Cable Car Stations) to a SkyOrb Cabin experience. This upgrade costs $15 per person on weekdays, and $20 per person on weekends and Public Holidays.

Ms. Aguas recalled how from a goal of reaching one million Filipino women three years after its inception in 2019, InLife Sheroes, now 5 years old, has reached more than 6.5 million Filipino women through various on-ground and online activities.
“InLife Sheroes will reach out to more Filipino women so that they become empowered through financial education and inclusion. This will be done through various digital/online and on-the-ground initiatives nationwide coupled with partnerships with various like-minded organizations.”
InLife Sheroes, InLife’s flagship program for women empowerment, was established in partnership with the  International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group. It aims to reach out to the relatively untapped segment of the women in the Philippines, especially women entrepreneurs who need life and health protection as well as financial solutions to expand their businesses. InLife Sheroes’ four focus areas are financial literacy, health and wellness, women-specific solutions, and access to social and business networks.
In order to exemplify these, InLife forged strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations such as the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment, the University of the Philippines – Manila’s Mu Sigma Phi, I Can Serve Foundation, Imaginable Impact, For The Women Foundation, Connected Women and major hospitals in the country among others, aside from its bancassurance partner UnionBank of the Philippines, associate Insular Health Care, and social commitment arm Insular Foundation, Inc.
Recently, InLife launched a critical illness life insurance plan called Resilience Female Cancers, aimed at providing coverage for women who would suffer from nine kinds of cancers such as: breast, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancer; uterine sarcomas, malignant mixed mullerian tumors, malignant germ cell tumors, fallopian tube cancer and leiomyosarcomas.
Meanwhile, Ms. Cuneta, a Shero herself, launched a video series on her YouTube channel, with the first episode discussing the importance of choosing a healthier lifestyle and preparing for the financial impact of health emergencies.
During the anniversary show held at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula on March 12, InLife also launched the InLife Sheroes Awards. The Awards Program will honor Filipino women who embody the four pillars of InLife Sheroes: champions of financial education, advocates for physical and/or mental health and wellness, accomplished women who work for the benefit of women and business leaders whose products and services address women’s needs. The Mugen Group, the company that brought the UCC coffee experience to the Philippines, recently opened the UCC Mentore Coffee+Bar at Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong last March 8.

For its coffees, UCC Mentore offers four different brewing methods. These include the syphon, which produces a smooth medium body and flavorful cup; pour over, the drip method that produces a clear, fragrant, and seductive coffee cup; cold brew, which results in a silky brew with deep coffee notes without the usual acidity; and espresso, which produces a bolder and more intense coffee flavor.

With more than 700 female Allstars or 37% of the whole AirAsia Philippines population, a woman’s contribution to the daily operation of the airline cannot be ignored.
“Gone are the days when women were enclosed in gender biased roles. Today,  you’d see them sweating but never complaining despite being exposed to harsh elements, performing their functions as flight engineers, mechanics, ramp agents, and marshallers. Day in and out, the women of AirAsia always make sure that our beloved guests are all taken care of, leaving no tables unturned to ensure that everyone lives up to the brand promise of being the world’s best,” AirAsia CEO Ricky Isla shares.
Flights Z2-223, Z2-224, Z2-420, and Z2-421 were commanded by Captain Jasmin Timola and First Officer Nicolette Trisha Castaneda, who decided to pursue their career whilst being full-time moms.  Senior Cabin Crew Mhea Salvador, and Cabin Crew Thalia Javier, Demii Marvick Fernando, and Jamessy Lee Asok meanwhile warmly greeted guests who were en route to their weekend vacation in Boracay and Bohol.  The all female flight aims to inspire guests to pursue their dreams and show that women can also excel in a male dominated industry.
