first reason I'm glad Kyo wears so many layers in canon is [Lord Farquadd pointing meme] Trans! second reason is we don't ever see his naked torso (also related to ease of trans interpreting: he might have top surgery scars! he might bind! we'll never know! can't tell me I'm going against canon when I draw him that way!)

so look, based on Inosuke and Tengen alone, it's clear Gotouge likes drawing defined muscles. that's fun, chunky shapes good. but it would've really bummed me out to see Kyo with Movie Actor Abs™ bc on him that would feel like a betrayal of his character. boy loves to eat. he loves sharing food with others. he doesn't keep track of what he puts in his body and how it looks the way you really need to if you wanna maintain serious ab definition. Tengen and Inosuke strike me as fixed-workout-routine, fitbit-wearing types who get a kick out of carving out the body shapes they want. Kyojuro is not that guy. Kyo is here to save lives and have a good time doing it.

seems like Kyojuro trains pretty frequently, and he mentors other fighters on top of that, so he does a lot of physical activity. he's probably toned. not abs-definition toned, but boy's got muscle, and he's probably got some squish too. ideal hug experience <3

I'm so glad when ppl draw/write Kyo with a softer body type. not just bc I feel that that's most accurate (fanart doesn't have to be ""accurate"" that's what makes it fun) but because it's kind. I like seeing Kyo in a body that eats well, a body that doesn't have to be in supposed "peak" condition to do everything he needs and wants it to. I like seeing him comfortable. happy.

i’m personally okay with it, rune factory has always been the more teen oriented game anyways so i don’t think it would be a huge leap to have a few mature undertones here and there? it’s honestly refreshing when fictional couples are allowed to act like couples rather than behave super bashful for reasons that are beyond the fourth wall. that being said, that kind of stuff is just an extra for me so it doesn’t make or break my own experience!
