i keep rewatching the scene where ruby breaks down because it's such a beautiful depiction if trauma. the seed of being a leader first and person second was planted so early in volume one. the way everything has been weighing down on ruby and she lashes out because everything has been bottled up ever since she was little she finally let all out.

weiss when ruby raises her voice flinching and retreating into herself because being yelled at is one of her triggers.

blake shrinking and hiding when ruby uses her hands to talk because of adam.

yang standing in front of blake, not to protect her but to give ruby someone to yell at because she was basically ruby's parent in their childhood.

jaune lashing out in his own way because he's been alone for so long, probably sitting on what he said for years.

also, ruby is NOT A BAD PERSON FOR LASHING OUT. it just shows that even without meaning to, you can trigger someone's trauma response due to the abuse they endured before.

that being said it's so cool to see how each character has a different trauma response especially when things are pitted against them!!!! theyre all so unique and diverse characters with ranges of emotions that line up to explain why they behaved that way. i fucking love this show.
