Ive been listening to the Conventional Weapons on repeat - what's the MCRmy lore with those? Spotify puts them as 5 different singles releases which is kind of annoying for how I like to listen to most music (as a whole album in order) but ever since I found them they've been my favorite MCR songs

i remember around that time there was already a bit of weirdness with the band. i think the danger days tour had ended, no talk of new albums, things had seemed a little tense and then they announced they were releasing conventional weapons which was an album they had made after the black parade, before danger days. they were doing vinyl and digital single releases which is why they come in twos- a sides and b sides, and i think they were doing one release every other week? everyone was like oh phew look at that new music everything’s ok :) and then the month after the last release mcr broke up so it ended up feeling like a goodbye

i think the reason they said they scrapped it was because it was made in a weird headspace and didn’t land in a way that would show them really moving on from the black parade but they were proud of what they made and wanted people to get to listen to it. a couple songs that were written for conventional weapons became danger days songs under different titles. the world is ugly was sung at a couple black parade concerts and had been one of the beloved rare songs that never got recorded like sister to sleep and stay so it was a very big deal when that was released but tbh after having listened to the live version for years im still a lil disappointed with the cw version

and since we are on the topic, i am in full belief mcr has an album they’re waiting to release and that it has sister to sleep on it bc WHY did they play it at the last show

Hey so I've seen you post a couple things about it but how was it going to see MCR live 3 times (in a row?)? I love that you were at the one where Gerard came on stage in a cheerleader uniform with a flamethrower

ok fair warning i got VERY emo and overshare-y with this

my third is the last LA show so ive been to two and they were unbelievably incredible. like no concert i will ever go to can top the first LA one it was a literal dream and it meant so much to me. not to get emo but the song helena in a very literal sense saved my life once and i spent a decade thinking i’d never see my favorite band live and then two years not sure i’d be around to even use my ticket bc things were so scary w my chronic illness and then i was THERE and i heard all my fave songs live

like i remember being drunk at the house of blues dancing on stage and singing teenagers with a bunch of other emos and thinking “this is the closest i’ll ever get to an mcr concert” and now ive sang teenagers with gerard TWICE?? and they’re so so so incredible and there was so much love in the concert and i thought i’d be crying my eyes out and maybe i will at the third concert but at the first one it was like pure joy fuckin euphoria i started laughing during i’m not okay bc i was so happy. it felt very much like i survived and made it motherfucker like i didn’t think i could do it and there have been so many times where i almost didn’t but i DID make it and i DID see them and it made so much so worth it. like this is fr something no one can take away from me

i don’t wanna spill all that so people keep tryin to tell me “oh that’s just like when i saw [insert artist that i know doesn’t mean half as much to them] it was so great” and in my head im just like i can promise you it’s not it’s so special

I uh. I just took that raads r autism test you were posting about the other day just to see what I would get. Was expecting like "you might have a couple autistic traits" but. Got 152 - "strong evidence of autism" so I took 3 more tests. Tested high on each one, especially the masking test. Hmmmmsmksixhsisinfbisuahx (bass-boosted thinking emoji)

i really don’t dig tests like that tbh especially when they start goin around tumblr. like i took em all and scored high on them all and it was interesting to see what traits were what but there’s so much overlap with other neurodivergence and im seein so many ppl in the notes use it as a diagnosis instead of a diagnostic tool
