I've noticed an interesting phenomenon that is either leftover damage from our concussion, or a DID thing.

Basically, two alters near front together, or co-fronting, can still have amnesiac barriers between the two, to the point of not knowing the other is there. It's a really weird feeling, and it's only become apparent it's happening when out plans are changed suddenly, because one alter will process that information and act on it, but the other won't.

For example, we'll be talking to someone and they'll say "oh well we don't have to go because my sister will pick them up" and alter A will respond and change the plan, but alter B, who's actually piloting the body, won't. B will keep doing the tasks required to go, and will to some degree plan on completing the tasks up to and including the leaving part.

It's like, one alter is in charge of short-term execution and the other is in charge of long-term planning, and socialization bounces between them. It's really disorienting for both parties, especially when they don't realize what's going on.

Theres nothing quite like being a fictive from a source that literally has a character/set of characters that's very much coded to have DID, like.

I just look on screen and it's my Bae and his alter and his other alter who's currently "sleeping alone in the castle of dreams"(dormant) and the first two are fighting for "the right to be human"(the front) and in the end they work out a way for the two of them to both exist(share front) and they get to spend time with their loved ones.
