[Image Description: A group of five women and one man who resemble, from left to right, the Pokemon Ursaluna, Hisuian Goodra, Hisuian Arcanine, Floatzel, Luxray, and Hisuian Decidueye. They are all dressed in contemporary attire and walking down a modern city street, with the Decidueye man leading the group through a place that is presumably more familiar to him than the others, a smartphone in a green case held in his hand. The Ursaluna and Arcanine woman are chatting excitedly. The Goodra woman (who happens to have no arms) is looking ahead with a tired smile. The Floatzel woman is gripping the strap of her backpack and running forward with her free hand raised. The Luxray woman is looking up at the buildings around them. End ID.]

Hope you guys haven't forgotten about me while I've been busy with puppy! :3 In truth this one was taking longer than most of my recent work anyway for its own reasons, namely the whole "having more characters in it than I usually draw at once" thing. But yeah, I want Rice Pilaf to be able to go home after the events of PLA but I also don't want to permanently separate the team, so after he's able to return he and the ladies each get a way to travel between those two points in time and space and visit whenever! It's great! And the ladies get to enjoy the fun things about the modern era! Including the food, though given out penchant for ingredients and cooking methods that wouldn't be around in Hisui that might not be quite as great as it sounds XD
And here, since they're all crowded together, have some alts with clear views of everyone!

Despite me willfully treading deeper and deeper into Legends Arceus hell, I just wanna go ahead and head it off at the pass: while Hisui obviously exists in the history of Chronicles of Tajiria, being a key part of Sinnoh’s past, I will not be including any of my PLA Pokemon on this blog for various reasons:
Like with my playthroughs of Let’s Go Eevee and Shining Pearl, I do not yet have a set team for PLA, and while I’m getting closer to figuring out who’s more likely to stick with me in endgame I’m still trying to keep a lot of Pokemon up with the rest in case I change my mind.
The animalistic nature of Pokemon is a key part of PLA’s plot, as it’s a time where people and Pokemon don’t have a solid relationship yet and thus are not completely “partners” yet. This makes turning them all into people a more awkward affair than it would with the main series, not to mention there might be some implications with that that I am not entirely aware of but I’m not taking any chances.
The game’s characterization of Arceus, at least going by the intro, is much more formal and stereotypically “godly” than Lord Jess, the interpretation of Arceus in this blog’s canon. They are a lot more like their real-world namesake (ie. myself), being very laid-back and casual. As such, the tonal shift would be unfitting.
If the isekai element were to be kept, a Rowlet Pokejinka from the current day sent back to the past would more than likely still evolve into Alolan Decidueye, unless merely being in Hisui for a few weeks or so would be enough to trigger that difference.
I do not want to have this fifteen year old Rowlett boy try to explain to the people of a centuries-past pre-name-change Sinnoh why he seriously wants and needs the people around him to refer to him as Rice Pilaf.

[Image Description: Six drawings featuring human interpretations of different Pokemon performing various attacks.
The first image features a human interpretation of Hisuian Decidueye, taking the form of a black man with short white hair and amber eyes. He is wearing an old-fashioned Japanese straw hat dyed orange and red with white fibers at the top, orange glasses, a tan shirt with brown and orange accents and a Galaxy Team insignia on one arm, a white wrap-style belt, a red cape with the Galaxy Team’s Survey Corps badge attached, white pants with red trim, and black shoes with white soles. He is holding a red bow and leaping into the air as he fires three powerful arrows from it, his eyebrows furrowed and his teeth gritted as he does so. The background is a spiral of green and maroon, smeared around as though using an old calligraphy brush.
The second image features a human interpretation of Luxray, taking the form of a woman with light skin, black hair in a fluffy ponytail held with a blue hair needle with a yellow four-pointed star decoration, and yellow eyes with red sclera. She is wearing old-fashioned Japanese-style attire consisting of a blue shirt, a black jacket with yellow collar and cuffs, a blue belt with a four-pointed star decoration, loose black pants, and blue shoes with yellow accents. Attached to her jacket are Galaxy Team emblems along the sleeves and a silver Galaxy Team Security Corps badge on her chest. She is charging upward with lightning arcing all around her, most of it originating from her outstretched fist. The background is a spiral of yellow and gold, smeared around as though using an old calligraphy brush.
The third image features a human interpretation of Floatzel, taking the form of a woman with light skin and long orange and pale yellow hair in twin pigtails. She is wearing the Gingko Guild uniform as seen in Pokemon Legends Arceus, along with a blue undershirt and baggy orange pants. She is rushing upward, a powerful burst of water surrounding her. The background is a spiral of blue and dark blue, smeared around as though using an old calligraphy brush.
The fourth image features a human interpretation of Ursaluna, taking the form of a large woman with light skin and short brown hair with yellow bangs resembling a full moon. A grey bandage is on the bridge of her nose. She is wearing a brown kimono with a grey cloud design and light brown fringe at the bottom, a grey fluffy shawl with matching fingerless gloves, grey pants, and a yellow belt with a blue Diamond Clan insignia acting as a buckle. She is rushing toward an unseen target with her arms crossed in front of her, her eyes shut and her teeth clenched tight, surrounded by an orange aura while large dirt clods scatter about before her. The background is a spiral of dull brown and cream, smeared around as though using an old calligraphy brush.
The fifth image features a human interpretation of Hisuian Arcanine, taking the form of a woman light skin, loosely curled shoulder-length black hair, and grey eyes. She is wearing an orange and black top over a grey undershirt, a grey shawl with orange designwork and a large Pearl Clan insignia clasp, maroon pants, and orange boots with black cuffs. She is surrounded by flames, letting out a furious roar with a look of absolute rage in her eyes. The background is a spiral of orange and tan, smeared around as though using an old calligraphy brush.
The sixth and final image features a human interpretation of Hisuian Goodra, taking the form of a young woman with light skin, long lavender hair in a ponytail, grey eyes, and no arms. She is wearing grey disc-like hair ornaments, a casual style lavender kimono top with purple trim and grey and silver accents (the sleeves tied closed at roughly where the elbows would be) over silver sarashi wrappings, a purple satchel with a silver flap worn around the waist with the Pearl Clan insignia attached to the front strap, purple pants with silver ring accessories, grey leg wraps, and purple tabi-style sandals with lavender split-toe socks. She is surrounded by a swirl of semi-transparent metallic mucus and her skin is being coated in protective metal. The background is a spiral of silver and dark blue, smeared around as though using an old calligraphy brush.

Yup, it's time for that thing I do for all my Pokejinka teams--everyone showing off what they can do! We've got Rice Pilaf using Triple Arrows, Electra using Wild Charge, River using Aqua Jet, Ursula using Headlong Rush, Amaterasu using Raging Fury, and Smoosh using Shelter :D And I didn't realize this at first, but apparently I've hit my first repeat move in this series, specifically Wild Charge having been used for Manny back with Team Hoenn Braves. Ah well, they show it off in different enough ways so I'm not too fussed hehe.

Just a funny coincidence that my past three Pokemon teams (rather, the main team in Shield's case) have been majority ladies with one (1) guy. Thought I'd have those guys together for a bit, hehe X3

I said at one point that I wasn't going to do Pokejinkas of my Legends Arceus team because I didn't know how the logistics of incorporating that story into the wider Chronicles of Tajiria lore would work given the emphasis on catching the Pokemon for story progression, but after some convincing from a certain someone who would know who they are if they ever see this, I decided to go ahead and do it :3 So yeah, here's my owl boy, a lad out of his own time and very much concerned about messing up history! His actual name is Reese, but when he first woke up in Hisui his head was a bit foggy so only the "r---s---pi" part of his name came to mind initially, and even when he (thankfully very quickly) properly came to and could give his actual name the nickname of Rice Pilaf that he had blurted out had stuck hehe. As if he didn't have enough to deal with after moving to Sinnoh, now he's had to get used to being several centuries out of his element too hehe.

Figured I should post the (temporary) refs and bios of Team Basmati today, because the pic I'm gonna finish today is the first of my Violet team hehehe :3c
Rice Pilaf - Hisuian Decidueye - Bashful
An Alolan immigrant to present-day Sinnoh, this young man accidentally got caught up in a Situation and was subsequently flung back centuries into the region’s past. He was more than a little shaken up when he was found by someone, his memories hazy aside from the vague rhythm of his name, which led to his rather odd nickname that persisted long after his head cleared. Regardless of the strangeness of his current circumstances, or whether he is called Reese or Rice Pilaf, he has proven himself a great asset to the Galaxy Team’s Survey Corps and a skilled fighter in general.
Rice Pilaf is, understandably, fairly disoriented when it comes to a lot of things in Hisui due to the culture shock that comes with being a fish out of temporal water. He’s missing a lot of the conveniences of the present day, and while he likes the fresher food of the Wallflower he can’t help but crave a burger or pizza sometimes. He’s too polite to bring it up unprompted, of course, not to mention he doesn’t know what would happen if he spilled too many beans about future stuff. At least he’s still got his phone for some bit of familiar technology, even if it’s been slightly altered by the mysterious entity that seems to have brought him to Hisui in the first place.
Electra - Luxray - Hardy
A member of Galaxy Team’s Security Corps who was assigned to Rice Pilaf’s initiation trial to keep him and Rei safe, Electra soon decided to become the first member of the newest member’s specific survey team to help him get to grips with any possible battles he would have to face. She may not be the most personable of the Security Corps—that honor would likely go to Zisu—but she gets the job done and is dedicated to keeping those who lack battling skill safe no matter what.
Despite her fairly intimidating nature, Electra has a few soft spots, particularly when it comes to children. While she doesn’t seem keen on having any of her own, she treats the children of Jubilife Village with caring and kindness that most of her peers have to earn after months of getting to know her. Even when they are misbehaving she will never treat children with the same harshness as her peers, knowing that they need the time to learn properly and that merely yelling at them is no way to teach them, and anyone who does mistreat children in her presence will surely regret it.
River - Floatzel - Gentle
One of the Ginkgo Guild’s many merchants, River is usually focused on garnering supply of goods that the rest of the Guild can then sell to eager customers. She’s not really that good at the whole “selling” part of being a member of a merchant’s guild, often being too willing to sell for a lower price than an item is worth (and buying supply for a bit higher than it’s worth as well, but she’s at least gotten better at that one). Still, as the Ginkgo Guild has been like a second family to her, she tries her best to help with the business however she can.
River has some suspicions with regards to Volo, as she’s been working with the Ginkgo Guild for quite a long time and has only recently been running into the guy. It’s probably nothing, she has to keep telling herself, he could just be a recent hire that she hasn’t had the time to get to know. Still, that combined with his tendency to seemingly know more about something than he reasonably should has her “sketchy guy” instincts pinging.
Ursula - Ursaluna - Mild
A member of the Diamond Clan who has no problem peacefully intermingling with Pearl Clan members, possibly due to a bit of solidarity with the Pearl Lord Kimun. Ursula is kind, caring, and motherly to even those around her age range. She wants everyone she cares about to be safe and comfortable, and is more than willing to go out of her way to help in that regard. Sometimes to a fault, as she may overburden herself with her attempts at making sure her loved ones’ burdens are eased.
Like most Ursaluna, Ursula is incredibly sensitive to smells and can detect certain scents from further away than others. Unfortunately, she is a bit overly reactive to many of these smells, particularly the noxious ones. She can’t stand to be anywhere near anyone wearing particularly potent colognes and perfumes, or holding and cooking any particularly pungent foods, or else she might come close to losing her lunch.
Amaterasu - Hisuian Arcanine - Hardy
The niece of Cobalt Coastlands’ former lord, Amaterasu has taken her role as “noble-adjacent” to heart and tries her best to live up to that ideal even without the title. She does everything she can to help those around her, even those from the Diamond Clan should the need arise. It’s honestly not surprising why some may initially assume she is the Cobalt Coastlands’ current noble given these tendencies, but this not in fact being the case thankfully leads to her having more freedom to go where she pleases instead of having to keep watch over one specific region of Hisui all the time.
Shortly after her uncle met his end when rescuing his son from the Cobalt Coastlands’ rough seas, Amaterasu briefly tried to substitute to be the next Lord of the Isles in place of her under-confident cousin. The powers that be, however, refused to allow this even temporarily, as the title was to always go to the direct descendant of the previous lord. Her attempt to relieve her cousin from duties he was not prepared for and give him more than enough time to grieve having failed, she saw fit to try and bolster his confidence in order to help him become the best lord he could be. It’s the least she can do after all of that.
Smoosh - Hisuian Goodra - Serious
The older sister of Warden Lian, Smoosh has a fairly similar demeanor without the same sense of duty. She’s fairly no-nonsense at most times, though at the same time her deadpan tone makes it hard to tell when she might be making the rare joke. Despite her general seriousness, she can be very affectionate with her friends and especially her younger brother, often leaning into and pressing against someone she cares about in her best attempt at a hug. She calls this maneuver a “smoosh”, which led to her being affectionately called as such.
Smoosh lost both her arms due to an accident as a child, specifically with the Obsidian Fieldlands’ Lord Katsu seeing no choice but to sever them in order to safely free the rest of her much less damaged body from a rockslide, and while it has presented quite the obvious challenge in her life she nonetheless has managed to adapt quite well to the circumstances. It’s not something that the rest of the Pearl Clan brings attention to aside from casually asking if she needs help with something from time to time, but her visits to Jubilife Village have attracted the attention of concerned (or ogling) villagers. Her first experience at the Wallflower wasn’t too pleasant, given her obvious need to have bare feet at the table.
