"You're back..."

I was on holiday last week during the TMMN finale, so I hadn't the change to properly say goodbye to the second season properly; this quick sketch was done right after I saw the finale, a missing moment all the Ryoutasu fan deserved (and everyone deserved too actually, at least for the sake of the storyline as it was written since that point).

I will surely keep drawing TMM stuff and Ryoutasu (and Pietasu deheheh) art for all my fellow shippers, since TMM is my comfort and safe place and it keeps my creativity alive, helping me overcoming my worst moments and art blocks.

For now, thanks everyone for everything, it was such a nice journey, hoping for more stuff, seasons, OVA soon, and while we wait... LET'S KEEP THE FANDOM POSITIVE AND ALIVE!

About Lettuce , Pie and Ryou... An idea...

So... Is there any fanfic Lettuce X Ryou // Lettuce X Pie but:

With Ryou being jealous about Lettuce spending time with Pie.

Ryou is like "I don't have time for a relationship but... I don't trust that aliens and seeing Lettuce with Pie, makes me feel kinda angry"

By the other hand, even though the war between aliens and humans is over, Pie can't understand why Kish and Tart are like "Ichigo Ichigo Ichigo " or "Pudin, Pudin, Pudin", also he can't stop thinking about that TMM who fight against him and made him doubt about his abilities. He don't even know what to do with the fact that now, his race is living on earth and are living normal lives. How is to live like a human, with a calm and normal life? He don't trust anyone, and he doesn't want to ask Kish or Tart, so he started to talk with Lettuce.

All the time when her shift finished, she meets with Pie and go outside, walking around Tokyo and show him that life as a human are not that bad.

I’m a Lettuce x Shirogane shipper and a Lettuce x Pie shipper too. but this post ain’t about that (KINDA), Sometimes I like to analyze the couples dynamics.

Episode 19 Ryou gives some words of encouragement to Lettuce <3 at this point It's something any friend would do ...Later in episode 34 he gives her some encourage once again. (He makes her more confident, she softens him up, they work well together)

Episode 41 - While Lettuce can breathe underwater in her Mew form, Shirogane starts to drown. She tries to save him, but the Chimera Animal gets in her way. The Chimera Animal grabs Shirogane and makes off with him.she’s able to spot Shirogane under the water by catching a glimpse of the Mew Aqua on his necklace, but Pai stops her from saving him. She tries to appeal to his heart, but he refuses to listen. She avoids his attacks and rushes towards Shirogane. Her body reacts to the Mew Aqua and she becomes a mermaid again.She kisses Shirogane to transfer some of the Mew Aqua’s power to him to help save his life. (altough i love this episode I’ve never seen her actions as romantic) . The kiss was a way of transferring air to his lungs, her deep feelings of wanting to save him resonated with the mew aqua. Back at the surface she’s glad he didn’t died.

Episode 45 - She blushes when he enters the room because...the kiss scene is still fresh in her memory ... although Ryou doesn’t know a thing. Yes her thinking about giving Shirogane chocolate could be a hint of something ... but for now I’m just analyzing Lettuce shy personality Episode 49

This whole cake idea was set up by Keiichiro, as a way to join the two? Probably,... Yes Lettuce is blushing but  her entire personality is the one of a shy girl ... I’m shy... I would blush too .. If i had to ask a boy if he wanted to share the last piece of cake with me ... at a lonely cafe during sunset .... THAT’S SO EMBARRASSING.

Welp ... Alien Alert! Time to fight ... since she’s the only one left there with the at the cafe ... it makes sense that she tells her senpai’s that she’s leaving for battle.

Episode 51 - She was the only one to notice Ryou was in danger? She was also the one to act faster and save him, risking her life, using herself as a shield to block Shirogane from an attack .

Her reactions could be intrerpeted as love or simply as a shy girl interacting with a bishounen. I’m curious to see how Tokyo Mew Mew New will handle the “juice scene” aka Ryou advice to Lettuce during the ship episode

After our Minto/Zakuro break, it seems the boy shipping pattern to the episodes has continued; episode 7 was Aoyama focused, and it looks like the next one will switch to Ryou. “Romance on the High Seas!” We’re getting the cruise chapter! 🤩 Now the preview image at the end of episode 7 showed Retasu and Ryou, which is in reference to these scenes in the manga:

This is really all we get of this ship in the manga, but the old anime expanded it further, and I have a feeling TMMN will do the same. However, I would like to remind everyone this is not the only ship floating out in the ocean in this chapter, because this also happens:

Oh yeah! 😍 Romance on the high seas indeed, that’s the cruise I’ll be sailing on, Ichiryou all the way!!!! I hope they lay on the attraction real thick, because like I’ve said before, I want to be devastated when this titanic goes down, stringed quartette and all (I’m just a masochist that way 😆) !

how do you like the rebooted tokyo mew mew compared to the classic tokyo mew mew anime? still got any of the same ships you used to like ryou x mint?

I like it. Some of the differences, like Minto having been the first Mew Mew is quite interesting. Though, I will be honest and say I preferred the transformation sequence(s)/outfits (save for Mint, because hers was so much plainer in the OG) of the original, it seemed better and more fun than whatever we have going on now. The art style is also prettier in my opinion. I do like that we do get to see insight on the other mews, and that we get to learn more about them. I am disappointed that we don't get to see Mint and her love for ballet, it was honestly one of my favorite things about her in the OG. Watching her dance, but in the new one? It looks like she has other interests. Which isn't necessarily bad, I just miss that side. (I will also give the series a plus for letting her have a better relationship with her brother than she had in the original.)

Ryou x Mint will always be my main ship. There's no question about it. I love my rich snob ship and I always will. ❤️ As for other ships? In this new one, I'm really loving the Masaya x Ichigo ship development. It's really adorable, and I think that they're really good for one another. They might be my second favorite ship in the reboot. As for the other ships? Well?

Pudding x Taruto? Still not my cup of tea. Pai x Retasu? Piques my interest, but we'll see how it goes. Keiichiro x Zakuro? Give me moments between them, and I'll ship them. Kisshu x Ichigo? As it stands right now, it doesn't do much for me. (I prefer them in the OG) I actually started to like them better in later seasons, so probably later on, I may get back on the Kisshigo train. Ryou x Retasu? They're an okay ship. Retasu's crush is adorable as it stands, but with Ryou being uninterested and having his eyes on Ichigo, I don't really see it working. Ryou x Ichigo? Still my biggest NOTP ship. I will NEVER like these two. Ryou's crush on her bothers me so much. He acts like a jerk to her one time, then is all flirty? Uhh... You're giving her mixed signals... and the fact that he seems to have it out for Masaya due to his jealousy just makes things worst! She likes Masaya. That's it. And last ship I want to talk about: Minto x Zakuro? I'm really enjoying the heck out of their dynamic, but in a sisterly type way. I could NEVER ship these two, because the start is always so one-sided. Minto idolizes Zakuro, and Zakuro rejects her hard. And it doesn't matter how cute of a moment they have after Zakuro gives them all a chance. Damage was done. And even if Minto doesn't call her "Big sister/Onee-sama" in this one, shipping them never felt right. I will say I love their dynamic in the reboot so much, they're definitely my favorite all-time friendship ship. (I have left out some ships, because I feel like these are the more popular ones, but feel free to ask about others if you so wish to.)

I am ridiculously hyped for the new TMM anime, TMM was my very first magical girl series and I can't wait! I only have one question. How gay was Minto for Zakuro in the manga because I hope there is no change there. I loved how thirsty MInto was--

Just like the question I answered regarding Ryou x Retasu, if the reboot follows the manga closely, prepare for even less romantic interaction with the other characters. Bu-ling does say that Minto “loves” Zakuro when she was first fangirling about her in volume 2, but that and the hugs she gives her were the most we ever got out of the manga.

Of course, we don’t know if it’ll be a page for page adaptation or of they’ll expand on things.

What are your ships for the main characters in TMM?

minto x zakuro for sure (even 12 year old me thought minto’s feelings were super romantic, so you can imagine how i felt when i finally realized i could apply that to myself…) oddly enough i’ve never been happy with my fanart of them and haven’t done anything recently… i should probably rectify that… hm…

i also have an unplanned soft spot for purin x retasu since i binge comicked and doodled for them by my own hand… aka “future high school fic where i fell for my senpai best friend.” 

i also loved ichigo x masaya a lot when i was little and spent a long time wishing for a boyfriend like him (i absolutely made an OC boyfriend based off him in the meantime).. i really want to draw fanart of them too, admittedly. 

Also, even though i did crush on Ryou once with my own self insert OC, i kinda think ryou x keiichiro as nerdy boyfriend squad is cute.
