seo yul is my favorite character in aos for a varied amount of reasons. other people on this platform have been amazing with their words and have described it so well so im not gonna analyse his character.

but i think he's my fav character because i see myself in him. i see so much of myself in him it kind of hurts. it hurts because i realised that there aren't as many characters as i would have liked in media that are introverted without their entire personality being around the fact that they were introverted or they meet this one person and suddenly they're a complete lively, bubbly person who can easily socialise and have had a complete 180 degree shift in their personality.

there hasn't been a character that has moved me so much ever before because i saw myself in them. and i suppose that made me realise once again how important representation is. i've always felt alienated because of this and i've always been told to be more expressive and extroverted. and seo yul has been a comfort, showing that it's okay to be introverted too.

i can't express how much aos and seo yul mean to me. im going to forever hold this piece of media close.

sometimes, i love a song, piece of media, character, art, so much that it is overwhelming to express what i feel. the feeling is so huge/big whatever you wanna call it and i feel it on such a deep level-- i want to express it. i want to scream into the world that i truly, genuinely, love this thing and i can't because it's not something i can put in the form of words and the restriction of not being to express is so painful because what is a human if not a culmination of expressions?

have you thought about how cruel it is that humans are social beings and our very core need is to be surrounded with other humans but our experiences are so personal and subjective that no one but one alone can understand what they went thru. like all we yearn for our whole lives is to be understood and accepted for what exactly we are but no one can actually achieve that because perception and subjectivity exists. it's so cruel.
