I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned on here that I really relate to roaches. Not in an ironic sense either. Like I really believe in them.
There’s something about the plight of a creture labeled so disgusting by all that I feel is parallel to my trans one. I think of them very fondly now.

Working on one of the largest woodcuts I’ve ever worked on. I will be explaining more soon on the meaning, my plans and etc! But for now I’m slowly adding the sharpie layer and soon I’ll be carving. The “due date” is May 6th and hopefully it’ll be ready for the gallery show on that day!

Egyptian. Hairdressing Scene, ca. 2008-1957 B.C.E. (Middle Kingdom, Late Dynasty XI)
Limestone, pigment (tomb relief)
13.2 x 24.5 cm
These fragments originally belonged to a scene showing royal hairdressers attending Queen Neferu (see accompanying reconstruction). The relief on the right depicts Neferu, identified as “The King’s Wife,” wearing an elaborate beaded collar. Behind her the hairdresser Henut has already pinned one strand of hair in place and twists another one. The relief on the left depicts the hairdresser Inu holding a triple lock of hair that she will attach to Neferu’s coiffure.
