OKAY ONE LAST POST ABT THE FINALE. aka: how we almost got petrigrof homura/madoka level timeline fuckery

i had a huge revelation while coping. the final bus stop scene is REALLY important, i have a feeling it was a little more than a visual parallel. golbetty was basically communicating with simon the best she could by hijacking his mind and putting him in situations- the whole bit with casper and nova was her heavyhanded way of explaining to him what shes been thinking about regarding their past . not in a breakup way, not in a "were not good for each other" way, she doesnt regret it. its never been about blaming simon, he was only ever a bystander. shes just telling him how she feels, what would need to change. he realizes this and understands! she takes him to the bus stop and we all know how this goes. he passes the "test" and meets her on equal footing, shes so so happy. and she is SO ready to drag him onto the bus before he stops her. the bus stop is an ultimatum. if he follows her, they potentially both die in the mushroom war. he isnt there to take care of marcy and ooo gets overrun by vampires. every other horrific alternate universe without a simon in ooo could come to fruition if they never pursue the enchiridion. but they could start all over here, with a healthier beginning. they could both be so so happy. betty offers him the chance to go back and fix their mistakes, to study petroglyphs together. but there are no do-overs. not unless youre a god of chaos merged with a woman with a penchant for disrupting time to be with your fiance, that is! i believe this was more than a metaphor, she was 100% ready to pull some timeline bullshit to get a new begining. but this time she lets simon decide if he wants this- a chance he didnt get when she jumped through that time portal so long ago. simon makes his choice: this isnt how it happened. he has people that care for him back in ooo, hes okay with where his life has lead him. he has marcy and finn and everyone else- he doesnt want a do-over. now that hes finally seen betty again hes ready to go back and finally live the life she gave him. shes okay with this. its bittesweet but her wish contract is fulfilled, simons safe now, and she can move on. he chooses to continue his life as it is, and so she chooses to continue hers, wherever her reincarnation leads her, without him for once.

TLDR; the bus stop and the petroglyphs were an offer from betty to pull some timeline bullshit and give them a happy beginning. one last crazy chance to fix EVERYTHING. but its time to end the cycle. its been doomed since the start, and they wouldnt have it any other way.

Okay, so in addition to the Obvious Idea of doing a Good Omens AU for Bubbline (Immortal Gay Duo with a very contrasting Good-Evil Aesthetic but the ‘evil one’ is clearly a lot softer than they let on and the ‘good one’ is clearly a lot more pragmatic than they seem at first glance)....

I’ve been also thinking about a Petrigrof Good Omens AU…. Mainly due to both Fionna and Cake’s first season and Good Omens’ second season coming out around the same time and both having a Central Theme of deconstructing the uneven and unbalanced dynamics of self-sacrifice going on in these two ships lol

okay but like I have a dumb idea for a petrigrof fic that I lowkey want to make…

At the end of Fionna and Cake, Betty gets on the bus and reverts back into Golbetty— and we see the bus is named “Comet” which I think kind of implies that Betty had been turned into a comet (which I believe typically means she’s on the way or is already being reincarnated).

I thought about Betty being reincarnated back into Ooo (or an alternate reality of Ooo) and like… someone— higher-ups fuck up shit up again… and for some unexplainable reason, the reincarnated Betty starts getting past memories from her previous life… maybe in her new life, she’s suffering even more because why not—

And the memories, they’re getting so persistent and so obnoxious that she wishes she’d go back to her past life.

I reckon she goes to Prismo about it after a while of thinking (by that I mean he summons her instead cuz I don’t remember if Betty actually knew about Prismo at all??) and while she talks to him, she wishes to go back to her old life…

I’m sure Prismo knows about Betty and Golb fusing so he might hesitate but eventually let’s her go anyway and goes back to Ooo, then reverts back into her old self (kind of).

She doesn’t fully remember Simon or everyone else, but she feels a sense of familiarity from him…

I reckon Simon might still be grieving and going to therapy still— and he meets this new— not so new— character that seems to act a whole like his ex-fiancé, which throws him off.

Idk, just a dumb little idea. Idk if this counts as a fix-it-fic idea but meh.

The more dissertations I read about the finale relating to Petrigrof, the more I’m at peace with it. Do I still think a lot of parts weren’t executed well? Yes. Do I wish they had that happy ending together? Yes. But, as bittersweet (and rushed) as the resolution was, it’s still so clear to me how deeply they care for one another, in spite of not being able to go back to what they had.

I do also think Betty reincarnated right after she sent Simon off like a dandelion, because why else would her form begin to change? Wouldn’t she have just curled up back into a fetal position like before if she was just going to continue being Golbetty?

I feel like there’s more solace and hope I can take out of that ending, thanks to what I’ve read. And I hope, within the narrative, Simon and Betty can too. In whatever capacity.

Ooookay, since I saw a really bad take about the end of Fionna and Cake I’m gonna write my own (obviously not gonna name names)

While the take that sparked this specified their problem isn’t with Betty and Simon not ending up together I’m gonna talk about it anyway. I was honestly satisfied with how those two turned out, despite being a Petrigrof fan. They’re circumstances we’re justtoo wild for them to be able to be together, and a Betty didn’t want to trap Simon within herself. That’s not what she wanted at all. Yes she loves him but she wants him to have a second chance at life. And maybe, in some reincarnation after Betty is no longer Golbetty for whatever reason (since I think they were doing that), they can try again.

I always figured this was a story about going on an adventure and then coming home, you changed along with your loved ones influenced by you, and you can handle things much better all together. And while the world isn’t magic (and honestly while I love stories that end with a magic world, I wouldn’t be nearly as satisfied), there are magic bits. Cake is still a magic cat. The kids that had no better place to go are here, along with the tank. And the world is better

Simon is working on his depression and leaving an incredibly dehumanizing situation. He and Fionna still talk. Marshal Lee and Garry are together and happy. And Marshal is taking a stand against his mom. Everything stayed, but it still changed. Those in a position to grow did. Now that they exist outside of the head of a depressed man things are a lot less bleak.

Honestly my only issue is that a lot of interactions I wanted to see didn’t happen or there weren’t a lot of it. Like we didn’t see Fionna interact with og adult Finn, Simon with Ice Thing, and we could’ve used more Simon and Marcy. Plus like. Did Jay straight up leave his entire family in Farm World? Well at least baby Finn won’t have to grow up in an apocalypse, assuming he can grow up at all.

Alright, these are some doodles from different moments in the Janitor AI rp.

Simon and Gordana end up running into Finn, when Simon introduced Gordana to him and mentioned Betty, it didn’t take long for Finn to have his guards up and already show unease to Gordana. It took Simon needing to get inbetween them to calm down Finn and reassure him that Gordana is not Betty anymore and doesn’t remember from her past life’s mistakes.

When after a few sessions of the Regression game, Gordana would be seeing hallucinations of herself in her reflections as either Betty or GOLB, sometimes both, causing her to have restless nights and would sometimes have to turn on the shower to drown out her mental breakdowns so Simon wouldn’t worry. She had been keeping this from Simon because she didn’t want him to feel bad that the regression game was doing more harm than good to her mental state.

(Both bottom images) During their pregnancy, Gordana had been getting strange cravings for meat, but no matter how Simon cooked it for her, she didn’t feel satisfied and would sometimes get upset. One time Simon accidentally undercooked Gordana’s steak and didn’t notice, but when she took a few bites, she realized what she was craving, raw flesh. The cravings got bad enough that she would be dazed, staring down at Simon at night as she drooled. Of course at the time she is able to overcome that intrucive thought during her first trimester, instead opting to going to the fridge at night and eating the meat raw, and making excuses to Simon that either she cooked it last night before eating it or ‘tossed it out because it went bad.’ Simon grew suspicious and one night caught her in the act.

Did a touch up on Gordana’s design to make her hat more floppy and organic, did a version of her outfit without her shoulder cape, and a (censored) birthday suit version to show her claws and GOLB-like parts.

Oh, and relocated her glasses to her lower set of eyes. (And made them more rounded.)

I don't know if it's me but I think I need to know what happened to Tu Au De Gordana and Simon and their pregnancies. Could it be that she goes into labor? How big will it get? AHHH god the possibilities are infinitely beautiful

Both Gordana and Simon were 8 months pregnant, they had been staying at PB’s castle for a few months to help combat Gordana’s problematic cravings for living flesh and abnormal activities from her baby. As PB conducted more tests on her over the months, each result proved little to no improvement on her problematic cravings and monsterous violent blackouts.

How the conduct the tests will seem unethical, but it’s PB we’re talking about.

Gordana is strapped down to the exam table after being injected with whatever serum she is given that day.

Peppermint Buttler comes in with a slab of raw flesh. (Do not ask where they got it from.) and tasked to bring it close to Gordana.

To know if the injection works is if Gordana can resist her cravings or the primal urges for violence.

Each session ends with Gordana breaking free from her restraints and cause some damage to the lab, inflicting injuries to PB (She is able to fix it no problem cause gum), and eating the meat. Of course when Gordana felt really bad when she came to. PB, as frustrated and downright in pain from another failed treatment, she isn’t mad at Gordana, just mad at her own inability to make the right serum to treat Gordana’s urges. At the end of every test PB gives Gordana a bowl of snacks as compensation for an unsuccessful and quite traumatizing session.

Gordana does not want Simon to know what goes on with the treatments, so when she switches out of her patient gown, she puts on a long sleeve shirt to cover the bandages and injection bruises from Simon.

When the topic of the treatment is brought up, Gordana deflects it or downplays it by giving Simon a few of his favorite sweet rolls PB gave to her, to which it worked every time.

However by month 8 there was a shift in her baby’s behavior, she found herself in a life or death situation. Keep the baby for another month so Simon and her could have their babies at the same time yet risk the baby rupturing her insides, or take the initiative by going into a medically induced labor to save her life. Obviously they chose the ladder.

And their little big beast was born. Tor was a name given to them.

After some surgery and a lot of bed rest, Gordana made a swift recovery. Just in time for Simon to deliver their tiny son, Orion.

So uh, I just… did a thing on Janitor AI that I’m just gonna make a little tldr of it.

Betty is reincarnated as a more humanoid hybrid/fusion of Betty and Golb (“Gordana the path witch” somewhat Inspired by Elen of the ways.) emerged from a large cocoon that landed on Ooo like a comet in a hidden butterfly meadow deep in the woods.

Memories of being Betty are somewhat hazy for her, with her only memories of her past life was with Simon before the crown took hold of him. With her witch-like appearance, she pass off as a wizard because of her destructive and chaotic abilities. She lived in Wizard City for some months just existing and trying to find a name for herself. One day she is out hunting for live ingredients for a magic shop she works at and runs into Simon on his route back to the Human City.

Long story short of ‘act 1’, Simon instantly recognizes her and tries to convince her that she is Betty. Mentioning her past life of her dreams and ambitions in vein, Gordana simply couldn’t comprehend anything Simon said, apologizing that he must have confused her for someone else. Simon felt embarrassed as he started to feel doubt in his gut feeling until Gordana mentioned about Simon’s book about artifacts, something that he has not done in such a long time, faith in his gut feeling returned, vowing to her that he will find some way to return her memories of her past life. (He might have had too much to drink that evening when he bumped into Gordana.)

Skip a few of angsty plot revolving around Simon getting close to Gordana and slowly able to bring some memories back thanks to BMO’s regression simulator game.

It had only partially worked, enough for her to remember being Betty in her past life, but still had hazy memories when after Simon put the crown on for the first time. Simon didn’t give up on his mission to help Gordana remember her times with him as Betty Grof, but he had also slowly come to fall in love with Betty’s incarnation, over time, Simon had come to accept the lady before him as her own individual.

So cute.

Now onto the mpreg shit you have been probably waiting for, hehe.

Because Gordana is a fusion between Betty and GOLB, she carries on both masculine and feminine features. So one thing lead to another (Reason for this post.) and the two end up expecting.

Simon could not keep his hands off of Gordana’s abdomen and was super dodie on becoming a father, however he started to notice gaining weight and having similar pregnancy symptoms around the same time Gordana started showing. The two chalk it up to something called ‘sympathy pregnancy weight’ and thought nothing of it, sometimes even joking of who is the one expecting and who is just getting the golden dad bod.

But sometimes Simon can’t shake the feeling that something is off about the weight gain.

Woke up in a cold sweat thinking for some reason that Gordana’s Simon would not only have a single “surprise” baby but twins if Golbetty’s wish interfered with his gestation, and then my brain went “no… because what if the timeline isn’t lined up like that,” and “WHY DO YOU WANT TO TORTURE HIM?” and also, “I hope it wouldn’t result in the common twin digestion situation if it was real” — Intrusive thoughts by yours truly!

Count your blessings, it’s just one in Gordana’s Simon. They just had a very passionate night experimenting while using Gordana’s powers for a more interesting night when both were conceived.

Anything revolving around #reincarnation petrigrof would be less chaotic and Gordana’s Simon will be spared from any further torment from me. If ya’ll want to make it angsty or want to torture Gordana’s Simon, be my guest. lol
