Some of the Clara dolls from the recent Rebellion event in Magia Record

Here are the girls whose poses differ to their individual artwork. They're different since I suppose all of them needed to be facing forwards but not all of them are in their og art. These poses are instead taken from group shots from the witches artwork book.

This one is for Yakimochi, Namake, Okubyou, Manuke and Higami

And this one for Reiketsu. Okubyou, Yakimochi and Namake reappear here but Reiketsu is exclusive to this one. (With Higami and Manuke being exclusive to the first)

So the poses aren't entirely new but it's still cool to see them individually and in high quality. Just seeing all of them in such high quality is amazing honestly (I never knew Mie was brunette, I thought her hair was black :T )

There's a lot of hidden detail in these Rebellion design notes. In one of them, it has a sketch of Reiketsu doing Homura's hair flip! That's so cute! I can just imagine these dolls as mimicking their Devil mother in lots of different ways.

[SENJU] If there are any clans that could claim superiority in the Land of Fire, it would be the Senju. Their natural proficiency with crafting jutsu, connection to nature, and the occasional inheritor of Wood Release helps solidify their near dominance.

LOCATION

[FIRE COUNTRY] Though there are a number of countries to be found in this world, each with their own unique clans and shinobi, your time here will be primarily spent within the Land of Fire, a country filled with lush forests and verdant fields, typically having bright and warm weather. You may start your time here either within your clan’s main compound, the capital city, or any of the various villages found within its borders.

PERKS

[CHAKRA NETWORK] All shinobi are trained to use their chakra, the combined physical and spiritual energies of a person used to perform jutsu and achieve superhuman feats. You possess a decent amount of chakra, equal to the average jonin of the future, and can be increased with the right exercises and techniques. You also know a number of useful and essential jutsu, like the basic Clone, Transformation, and Body Replacement jutsu, among a few others.

[ELEMENTAL AFFINITY — WATER] All who wield chakra possess an affinity towards one of five elements, either Earth, Fire, Lightning, Water and Wind, making it easier to learn and master certain nature transformation techniques of the same element. Though it is not something one may control, you have the luxury of being able to choose which of these elements to have an affinity for. You may purchase additional affinities for [50] per element.

[YANG RELEASE] Outside of the standard elemental affinities, there are two additional nature releases, Yin and Yang. You possess an affinity for Yang, the element most heavily tied to the physical. The body and reality, the element of Yang is used by many high-level taijutsu techniques as well as the future art of medical ninjutsu, allowing those with an affinity for it to more easily use and master them.

[EMPOWERED AFFINITY] The future Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, will be known for his potent affinity for Water, allowing him a mastery of the element matched by very few. Much like him, your affinity for a nature transformation is phenomenal, doubling the potency of jutsu relying on that element while reducing the chakra cost in half, and learning them twice as quickly. Should you possess more affinities, you can purchase this multiple times for each nature affinity you possess.

[SAGE MODE]  Many are those who learned from clans of animal summons, combining their chakra with that of the natural energy found within the world in order to achieve feats beyond ordinary shinobi, with just as many different variations as there are summoning clans themselves. Whether or not you learned from one of these clans, or you learned this ability on your own, there are some common abilities found within those who use senjutsu. Your physicality will be greatly enhanced while within sage mode, and infusing your jutsu with senjutsu will see them becoming much more potent than before.

[SENSOR TYPE] Anyone is able to feel the presence of chakra when it's especially powerful or released in large quantities. Yet only the sensor type shinobi are able to sense chakra at their own discretion, able to detect it in non-combat situations and even tell individuals apart based on their chakra signature. You are one of these shinobi, with a range of fifty meters, though that can increase through use training.

[UNWAVERING STOICISM] To be of the Hyuga clan is to be of a bloodline that can trace itself all the way back to the brother of the Sage of Six Paths, true inheritors of divine blood. Such a noble bloodline requires that you show nothing to your enemies, the expression on your face set in stone. Even while being tortured or having your limbs removed, you can hide all of the emotions you're feeling beneath a mask of indifference.

[PRECISE CONTROL] There are few things as unfortunate as power that can not be controlled, especially when it comes to the power given to you through chakra. You are better than that, and have trained to surpass such a glaring flaw within yourself. Your chakra control is simply sublime, using your energy with a level of efficiency that would take years, maybe even decades of training to come close.

[CHAKRA RESERVES] With such potent vitality, it’s not all that surprising that the average Uzumaki possesses more chakra than the average shinobi. You are the perfect example of this, as the amount of chakra you possess is doubled. Additionally, you will find your chakra capacity growing naturally over time, completely independent of any attempts at increasing it through training or modification.

ITEMS

[CLAN ATTIRE] You are a proud member of your clan, and as such wear the clothing to reflect your allegiance. You now possess a number of clothes fit for this era, each one as comfortable as they are resistant to damage, and bear either the mark of your clan, or your own personal sigil.

[EXPLODING TAGS] A stack of papers, useful for when you need to destroy something without needing to use much chakra. Stick them onto a surface, be they a wall or a person, and activate them with a pulse of chakra to cause these seals to explode. You will receive fifty of these tags, which will replenish weekly.

[SHINOBI ARMOR] In a time where death is but one thrown kunai away, it pays to protect yourself, even if only a little. As shinobi need to be quick and mobile, this set of steel armor is perfectly weighted, and does not hinder your movements at all. For [50], you will only receive a basic set, while paying [100] will grant you a set of armor enhanced by fuinjutsu, making it much more protective than before.

[FUINJUTSU KIT] Fuinjutsu is a tricky art, one where even a single brush stroke could change the entire sealing array into a massive explosive, or worse. As such, you need the best materials in order to properly express this art, in the form of these neverending barrels of chakra infused ink and stacks of paper.

[CLAN TREASURY] A core part of being shinobi is to go out and perform jobs for clients, to bring prestige and wealth to your clan. Wealth is something you shall have in abundance, as you now receive a weekly stipend of ¥500,000. Of course, you can convert this money into other forms of currency, should you feel the need to do so. Be sure not to spend it all in one place.

[CHAKRA WEAPON] A secret skill passed down to only the most skilled of blacksmiths, it’s rare to find any who can create chakra conductive weapons that are not permanently on the payroll of a shinobi clan. You have been given a weapon made from this metal, allowing you to easily channel your chakra through it. With mastery over your elemental affinity, you will even be able to coat it in your chosen element at a negligible cost. Be mindful, though, for a weapon is only as useful as the hand wielding it.

[INFUSED GARDEN] Chakra is vital to life itself, and as such changing it within any living being can have some serious effects. Take this garden, for example. All of the numerous plants found within have been heavily altered, possessing a number of supernatural properties, both beneficial and detrimental. If used by a skilled herbalist, they could create medicines and poisons much stronger than nearly anything else found in the Land of Fire.

[MEDICAL KIT] All it takes is one lucky hit to kill a person, to utterly destroy the delicate processes keeping a person alive and well. And when they survive a battle, they often return with bleeding wounds or fresh scars, ones that need immediate attention. You now possess a bag containing nearly everything you’d need to treat someone on the battlefield, even emergency surgery. The supplies will restock once every day, so there’s no fear of running out in the long run.

[SUMMONING CONTRACT] Some of the most prominent shinobi around are in possession of a summoning contract, allowing them to call upon the aid of an animal clan for any number of purposes. You are now a holder for one of these contracts, with an animal clan of your choosing. Whether it’s an animal clan shown in the series or not, they will each have their own variation of Sage Mode, which they will teach you after you’ve proven yourself trustworthy enough.

A thorough comparison on the words used in Nightfall's introduction throughout different translations.

Japanese Manga, Anime Narration

• 毒婦 (どくふ, dokufu)

Literal translated as "poisonous woman". There are two variations of meaning that can be assumed from this term.

Evil - If taken directly, the combination of both words lead to someone possessing an outwardly evil intent towards others.

Selfish - If taken individually, the word "毒 (poison)" may refer to someone who possessed a poison-like characteristic towards others for their own sake. This context lean closer to being defensive of one's own right, or cared less of others' perspective.

• 冷血 (れいけつ, reiketsu)

Literal translated as "cold-blooded". As straightforward as it means, the separated words indicate "冷 (cold)" and "血 (blood)", making "merciless" a fitting synonym too.

• 鉄面皮 (てつめんぴ, tetsumenpi)

Literal translated as "iron-faced". Similar to "cold-blooded", the separated words for this term hold a direct meaning of "鉄 (iron)", "面皮 (face, expression)", in which could also be assumed as "emotionless".

English Translated Manga

• Ruthless

Defined as "having or showing no compassion to others", this word is closer in context to the "selfish" version of "毒婦 (poisonous woman)".

• Arrogant

Defined as "having an exagerrated sense of self importance or abilities", this word did not exactly match the neutrality of the term "冷血 (cold-blooded)" and instead biased towards the negative actions shown by a person.

• Icy

Defined as "unfriendly / unwelcoming", this word has a close meaning to the term "鉄面皮 (iron-faced)" due to both words' emphasis on an emotionless person.

Anime's English Subtitle

• Wicked

Defined as "morally wrong", this word adapted the "evil" variation of "毒婦 (poisonous woman)" due to its negative nature. Opposing the "selfish" variation of this word, "wicked" may be used to indicate someone being naturally ill-intended.

• Cold-blooded

This term matches well with its japanese counterpart of "冷血 (cold-blooded)", meaning lack of care or "merciless".

• Impudent

Defined as "not showing due respect for another person", with synonyms like "insolent" and "shameless". This word seemed to hit far off from the supposed intended translation for "鉄面皮 (iron-faced)". In great contrast to "impudent", "iron-faced" hold on a neutral meaning of someone being "emotionless" instead of being disrespectful.

Note: The inconsistencies that I met during cross-referencing between the manga versions and anime translations (including the words spoken there) for this part had ignited my need to find out the intended meaning for the three words used to describe Nightfall from her colleagues' perspective. Since it is an introduction to her, it feels crucial to find out the ground truth of those words and thus, I had come to settle with assuming the japanese manga's description as the verified version (the three words spoken in the anime matched those of japanese manga as well).

Once the real words from the japanese manga are ascertained, it surprises me further as to how two of the english-translated subtitles had been off-meaning, namely "wicked" and "impudent". Having an understanding on the asian context of referring someone as "poisonous", as intended in "毒婦 (poisonous woman)", the word "poison" is typically used in the context of someone being "selfish" (through actions that may be labelled as "inconsiderate" when it comes to standing for their own rights regardless of the others' perspectives) instead of "ill-intended". Thus, I had come to conclude that "ruthless" as the more suitable translation to this word. "Impudent", on the other hand, had been poorly translated from the actual meaning for "鉄面皮 (iron-faced)". Bearing almost non-overlapping definitions, "iron-faced" had meant someone who had the face akin to an iron, as in being "emotionless".

While nothing can be done to repair the actual meaning lost across translations, I find it important to address inaccuracies (like this) for it may drag a character into a false impression, especially during the introductory phase.

Excuse the long rant but I hope this could help in clearing some misunderstandings that existed with these three words (could be more to this if I noticed anything else in the future). Thank you for stopping by!

I rarely talk about my experiences at Dir en grey shows, mostly because I want to keep them to myself. To remember certain moments or recalling certain movements and situations. But this time I just want to say some bits about Berlin.

I was absolutely shocked about the behavior of the crowd. I don't know if it was because there was a break of four years since we last saw them or because it was of the selection of the played albums. However... I witnessed people being absolutely ruthless, disrespectful and violent to others in case of behavior and actions. People were pushed down and kicked on so they would stay on the floor and if no one would have helped them they would probably be badly injured now or worse. People pushed and jumped around without considerations of others to get more to the front. They risked hurting people and with hurting I don't just mean bruises. I mean they literally didn't care if someone fell down through their action in a crowd full of moving people. There were people in the crowd who didn't really come to enjoy the music but to rather get themselves drunk and then starting a riot in the crowd. This is something that goes on since around 2011 and till now it was not acceptable but at least tolerable (though I might say, mosh pits and wall of deaths were never part of a Dir en grey concert and it's simply out of place here) but Berlin showed me that they're going too far. For me such people don't belong to their concerts. But it's a personal opinion (and no, I won't discuss it with anyone). However. Exactly those people were the reason why the wall of death was even started. They wanted violence and they got violence, sadly on the shoulders of others who didn't want it. They didn't care if someone was in it who didn't want it. They didn't care to hold the others around them safe, instead they crushed into them. And... While I tried to keep myself safe during "Reiketsu nariseba" I had the opportunity to watch how it was formed and how they waited and I was disgusted and scared... They looked like wild animals ready to spring on another. They were pacing around like they couldn't wait and their eyes were... it was frightening.

I get "concert fun". But for me, this wasn't fun anymore, this was madness. And all I can hope for is that this madness won't be here when or if they're touring in Europe again. PS: The behavior of ASTRA staff also kind of confused me. Dir en grey are coming into this venue for years now and since it's not my favorite it was okay for me. This time, security was basically non-existent and especially after the 1st day they should have been more present.

Madoka Walpurgis Random Thoughts

Reiketsu (Coldheartedness) is my favorite Clara Doll. Her design is just top notch. There's this idea going around that the final form of a Clara Doll is a copy of Homura herself (since familiars tend to become copies of the witches they spawned from).

Here's hoping that if the theory is true, that Reiketsu has a Homura form.

Tried my best to piece together the Clara dolls seen in the trailer

I'm starving for witch content, this is the best I can do

I'm confident on Usotsuki since she's so clear and Okubyou because she just has such a distinctive hairstyle but a lot of them are kinda shaky...

I'm 90% sure that's Reiketsu because of her hair flick but not at all confident with Wagamama. I thought because of her hair shape and hat but the zoomed in girl especially just kinda doesn't look like any of them?? She seems to have brown/red hair like Usotsuki but then none of the girls with that colour have a hairstyle like that. Warukuchi's hair doesn't match at all with both the style and fringe. I'd say it could be Manuke but she's already got one (and if that's not her the one for Ganko could also be her...)

I'm mildly confident with Noroma's since the hairstyle and colour match. I thought it was Manuke for a second before I realised she had an apple on her head.

Less confident on Yakimochi and Namake and I'm more going on the hair length and vague colours. Same with Mie, I'm mostly going on the centre parting she has but there may be sticky-out hair that could be Wagamama's... hm

Manuke is still a bit eh like I said before. I'm imagining the bit on her head as her bun but it could be an outstretched arm. I know they've got different outfits but the skirt kinda matches too. You can tell with Okubyou their new outfits are still kinda similar to their old ones so this might work if Manuke had a similar skirt shape.

The thing that tipped me on Ganko is the white spots on her hat. I thought it was Manuke but then I realised the bun could be her pompom. The cape matches too.

The girls certainly have a cat (or perhaps Kyubey... ) theme here as seen with a few cat ears and tails which is super adorable. Please give them lots and lots of screentime
