inspired by people like @bitterclan and @poppyclangen i decided to draw my dumb little cats as well!
HillClan was left with dangerously few cats after a landslide hit their camp with a force no one could have predicted. Most of their numbers buried under the rubble, the cats that made it out unscathed begin to dig out those they can yet save.
Hailstar, the leader, was only appointed a few moons prior after the passing of Nightstar, an elderly molly that had been leading HillClan for many seasons. He has always been a small and sickly tom, but with a deep sense of morality, which is the reason Nightstar chose him as her deputy. Despite his confidence in his abilities, he is beginning to doubt himself in the face of this catastrophe.
Ravenfreckle replaced the former deputy, Hailstar choosing him for his conviction and fierce attitude. He was one of the few not hit by the landslide, working tirelessly for days to dig out both survivors and deceased. What the clan doesn't know is his strong bond to the Dark Forest, the ancestors having trained him since he was but a child.
Wildclaw is an adventurous soul, not formally trained as a healer. But, due to the fact that as an avid keeper of lore he had been working closely with the deceased healers, he offered to take up the role until someone more suitable came around. Tending to injuries caused by the landslide has proved challenging, but Wildclaw has never been one to back down easily.
Riverwhisker is the only warrior left alive. A nervous tom, he's spent his life fixing barriers and building dens - the landslide all but destroyed his life's work. Now he must hunt and patrol alongside his clanmates to keep HillClan running.
Mudpaw, the oldest of the apprentices, hasn't lost her playful spark in the wake of disaster. She is as rough and rowdy as ever, even if she doesn't agree with Hailstar's choice of her new mentor. But is she truly as unaffected, or just keeping up appearances?
Cloudpaw knows he should he proud to now be training under Hailstar, but he's far too busy imagining what horrors almost befell him and the others who are left. He's been terrified ever since the landslide, often refusing to come down from boulders and trees and claiming he feels more secure up there.
Featherpaw already had to change mentors only days after being named an apprentice, leaving her nervous and unsure of what's to come. She is, however, a sweet young cat, quiet and attentive and easier for Riverwhisker to handle than Mudpaw would be.

Rainbowpelt doesnt want to go on patrol with Ravenfreckle.
A medicine cat apprentice from Starlingclan asks for elder leaves but wont say why. Scratchclan gives some anyway.

Hailstar, it seems your clan doesn't have a healer right now.. do you think someone else might have to switch to the role? Has Starclan spoken to you?
“Has StarClan spoken to you?”
Ravenfreckle’s form casting a shadow over him startles Hailstar awake from his afternoon nap. His frail body has never been made for working all day long, but he can feel his clan’s judging eyes on him all the same.
“Hailstar?”
The leader begins to slowly sit up. Ravenfreckle towers over him anyway.
“They have not.”
The stars have been silent as ever. Hailstar hasn't heard from them at all since the landslide. StarClan has all but abandoned them in the moons since.
“None here have extensive medical knowledge. Stars, even Wildclaw wasn't really a healer,” he continues, copper eyes wandering over his clanmates going about their day.
Mudstripe and Kokomipelt are resting in the healer’s den, even with no healer present. Every day, HillClan fears for their lives with no way of helping them. Together, they’d figured out how to splint Mudstripe’s fractured leg, but there's the ever-growing threat of infection, and Kokomipelt is getting weaker by the day, his wound oozing foul smelling fluids.
“You are the leader.” Ravenfreckle's voice takes on a low, bitter tone. “It’s on you to find a replacement.”
Hailstar doesn't defend himself. His deputy is right, he knows.
But before he can say anything further, the gray form of Riverwhisker joins the two of them.
“No need for that,” the old tom breaks up the fight before it can truly begin. He seems tired. “I’ve never been much of a warrior. Picked up a thing or two in my time. I guess that’s the best we got to work with.”
Ravenfreckle seems pleased at that. Well, not pleased - he never seems pleased, at least not in Hailstar’s presence. But he looks far happier than he did a couple of minutes ago. Hailstar supposes Riverwhisker will be their best shot at saving their clanmates.
As the two older cats walk away, tails entwined, Hailstar settles back down in his spot. He can hear them mumbling to each other and picks up his own name. Figures.
Once again, he wasn't able to solve HillClan’s problems. The clan is right to doubt him; why fight against it when it’s clear he’s never been fit to lead?

Ravenfreckle and Marshpaw go out to hunt chickens, they are very successful. I imagine Marshpaw enjoyed letting off steam due to all the stress going on. Ravenfreckle probably got nervous that the humans were going to be pissed about the dead chickens (which i will not draw because im a chicken owner lol)

I wonder what Coyotesmoke's motives were. I think Quillstar is being reminded on his children when they were younger.

Moon 316
When Quillstar was an apprentice, he desperately wanted to be a leader. He trained for it and, while doing so, made a fool of himself countless times. But he achieved his goal, Halfstar made him deputy and chose to believe in him despite his hot-headedness. Now curled up in his nest weeping, he wonders if it was worth it. His beloved was gone with the flood, so many of his children and friends too. He could not bear the pain and refused to leave his nest all morning. It wasn't until midday that he leaves, full of longing and anguish. He stands in the middle of camp lost in his thoughts until he is asked if he can help find one of the new kits. Apparently, he scampered off. Knowing that it was unlikely that the young one had gone far, Quillstar starts to search around the bushes surrounding the nursery. It doesn't take long for him to spot the little guy cowering under a bush. With a sigh, Quillstar lifts the foliage and scruffs the little kit. The kit squeaks in surprise as he is brought back to the nursery, squirming and protesting. Quillstar gently sets him down and gives him a stern look. The kit shrinks under his gaze and shivers. Sighing, the leader gives the kit a few affection licks before turning and leaving.
Coyotesmoke's body felt so heavy. Normally, she was known for being incredibly light on her feet, able to outpace most other cats easily in a chase, but now? She felt defeated. She couldn't even go sort herbs in the medicine den to take her mind off things because of Sarki's sobbing. The world felt so flat, the loss that has been experienced was immense, and felt like a rock resting on her back, crushing the air out of her lungs. Coyotesmoke did not cry, but she did sit and wallow. Her grief felt like it had no place to go, so she kept it close. She had lost so many siblings and her mother. She knows her father Quillstar is also suffering. She can not allow herself to break down she knows she needs to hold herself together for the clan. It's the most she could do after failing to save so many.
Streakspot stood at the entrance on guard duty. She had lost both of her siblings, and she was not taking it well. She felt so bitter. How could this happen? How did we lose so many? Streakspot sunk her claws into the dirt and bared her teeth. She was furious how the other healers failed her brother and sister so badly? Copperfleck, her beloved brother, was trapped in the medicine den when the flash flood overtook camp. The other healers were either out gathering or in safer locations when the rushing water poured in. He was the easiest body to find. Her mother, Ravenfreckle, had been staring off into space since the flooding. No amount of begging or crying has broken her out of her trance. Streakspot felt so alone. Even from her vantage point, she could see the healer Sandwhich entertaining some of the kits in the nursery. The grey healer looked to be sulking near the fresh kill pile. Streakspot clenched her jaw and looked away. Useless.
