The video from this user was rather a mess, to say the least, with the girl having to build up the courage to come up to your table after mumbling to herself for a few seconds. Your voice as well as Pedro’s were heard in the background every step closer she got to your table at the far end of the place.

She takes in a breath as soon as she has stopped at a respectable distance from the two, yet instead of asking for a picture, she seems to have asked for a rather odd one instead.

“Hi! I love the both of you so much and…” she paused for a breath, “- I was wondering what drink you have?”

This earned audible sounds of confusion from the both of you before the girl, herself, gasped and raised her other hand to cover her mouth out of embarrassment and shock at what she had said.

Eyes seen scanning the two of you as she stuttered out multiple apologies, “Im sorr- oh lord I’m really sorry. I just- I wanted to ask another thing but..” She ranted but soon calmed down when you were heard asking if she wanted something to drink.

And even though the video didn’t end up like how she expected it to, she was still able to take a picture with the two of you as soon as she’d calmed down.

Content creators often post the most unexpected and shocking situations when they’re out to travel. Nothing changed when Henryontour, a famous travel blogger got a chance to bump into Pedro at a pub his fans recommended. And when the video said “I bumped into Pedro Pascal in a pub in London,” it really and quite literally meant he bumped into Pedro.

Entering the establishment, he was in awe of the ambience and the interior design of the place. Having gone to multiple pubs at that point he explained that he really wasn’t expecting anything different than to previous ones, but this place had stunned him. Walking deeper into the place, he situates himself at a table by the window. Placing his bags down he continues to compliment the place.

“Oh look here, they have these vintage records as well as a most probably now customized jukebox. The feel of the table and the front bar is as sleek as it looks. Now let’s take a look at the-“ Henry stopped as soon as he bumped into something and turned around to look and apologize to who or whatever he had bumped into.

Not expecting the person he’s bumped into, he can only stay silent as his expression morphed into something of a shock, which was later identified as starstruck as soon as Pedro was seen in the video.

Composing himself, he clears his throat and lowers his camera, out of respect. “Sir, I’m really sorry. I wasn’t looking.” 

Pedro’s voice was now heard, "It's okay," as well as soft laughing from the side, “No worries dear, it was no one’s fault. You were both doing your own thing no need to fret about anything.” Your voice was heard in the background while Pedro who was now about to sit down just nods and pointed at the camera.

“What’s with the camera?” He asks out of curiosity. Making Henry moves his head to the camera and then back to the two of you.

“It’s- I’m actually a youtuber so I’m currently filming my tour around London. Is it ok if I show you guys on here? I’m sure my fans would love it when they see the two of you on here seeing that you’re both big names in the acting industry.” Respectfully, Henry asks and soon was raising the camera to show the two of you seated side by side on bar stools having drinks of your own.

“What a surprise, I bumped into the one only Pedro Pascal along with his muse Y/n L/n,” he introduced the two of you to the camera. Pedro was seen making a peace sign accompanying his dimpled smile while you were seen waving and smiling sweetly before raising your cup to take a sip of your drink of choice.

The video extended for a few more seconds of Henry expressing his huge admiration for Pedro earning him shy chuckles from the man.

“There!!! Turn back there, I swear I saw him!” A female voice later on named Victoria was heard. Her phone was aimed towards the sidewalk as the car turned left.

Zooming in her shrieks were heard when two figures are seen walking from afar. Rolling down her window, she zooms out when they get closer. Now seeing a clearer view, a man wearing a quilt jacket as well as a smaller figure in leather are seen walking hand in hand in the streets seemingly having the time of their lives with all the laugh the could be heard.

Passing by the two, Victoria took the chance to shout, “Pedro!!!! I Love you!!!!” her voice rang out making the pair look at her with funny and shocked expressions. 

You, who first found it amusing, raised your joined hands to wave, jumping as you blow her a kiss. A short shout from Victoria was heard before it was followed by continuous shouting, as soon as Pedro joined in on the fun and shouts back, “Hello to you too!!”

At this point, the pair was long gone as the car has now passed the two. What was left however were the gasps for air that were heard as well as the laughs of whoever was with her.

“Oh my lo-“The video ended with the camera turning to Victoria, revealing her current state. Which appears to be red-faced and out of breath.

Usually, paps are these overly intrusive people who shove their cameras on your face just to write and tell the world something you’ve probably answered a couple of times. While some are people who still respect the celebrities they encounter as well as their space.

Like this one, this pap was just sitting around the corner after having been notified that you were in the area. As soon as they hear the shutter sounds of a camera pop off he stands and focuses on the mob of people just right outside of a pretty well-known pub.

And as always, the notification was correct. There you were in all of your glory, exiting the pub with Pedro in front of you, trying to get the two of you away as much as possible while still being polite.

This particular pap, instead of charging to the horde that was currently mobbing you, decides to wait and follow them from afar before walking with you. Also, in alternative to shoving their camera to your faces, he keeps it at a low angle to which your face was still seen.

Greeting Pedro with a “Good Evening,” obviously since he was leading the two of you to the car.

Pedro greeted back with a small smile and a nod, “Good evening to you too.”

“What were you two up to this fine evening?” He asks as casually as possible.

Sensing that the pap wasn’t going to stop unless they were satisfied, you answered seeing that this was better than those who’ve chosen to intrude.

“We just went out for drinks. That’s all, nothing really to it,” you answered softly as you nudged Pedro to take a turn.

“I see that now. It really is a fine evening to go out for some drinks. What’s your go-to pair with the drink you have while here in London?” He asks once again, walking a few paces ahead of you.

Intrigued by the question, Pedro lets out a laugh followed by, “Ooo that’s a nice one, but I’ll probably go with the classic steak and fries.” He said taking your hand when he sees your car nearing.

“That’s good. How ‘bout you, y/n? Anything you favour?”

“Me? In London?” You thought for quite a bit. Mostly to stall, but also think of a definite answer.

“Hmm, in London? I might get some good old fish and chips. Is that a common pair here? Or not?” You answer laughing at yourself, making Pedro shake his head at your confusion before wrapping his arm around your shoulder as he opens the door to your side of the car.

“I actually don’t know either, but thank you to the both of you and enjoy the rest of your night.” The paps stopped ways away from your car.

Pedro smiled, “You too and thank you.” The pap confused about what he was thanking him for can only wave and record as the pair drives off.

Jotting down my UTMV AU Ideas because of this guy

No clue if ANY OF THESE can make canon sense but does it look like I care? Lemme have my fun.

AMV!Ink / AMV-VERSE (AMVV?)

The idea is simple. At least, I hoped it was. Rather than the artistic AUs, fanart, and creative writing side of the community, there was an Ink made for the musical side of the community, like the AMVs, themes, vocaloid covers and what not. I’m sure Ink probably looks over ALL of that junk already but let’s be honest when was the last time you saw him doing it? Yeah I didn’t think so. Ink could be an unfinished animation meme or a vocaloid AMV like that Spring Storm one and eventually find a way to leave it and probably protect YouTube or inspire creators or something, gaining access to all the other things and people on the platform. Error could even tag along as some sort of flawed copyrighting system using Error’s body as a means of moving around rather that being confined to STRINGS of text. (Don’t ask me how he does that I don’t know) He would recognize everything as copyrighted or plagiarism or something and try to destroy it without seeing the creativity and originality in the work. Their designs could be based off the AMVs or covers they came from with Ink being from whatever the hell and Error being from…idk, probably ECHO. I wonder if Inks outfit would depend on which videos and content he delves into almost like Hatsune Miku or other Vocaloid.

LONLEY GUARDIAN

This one is just sad. A Dreamtale AU where, during a fight between Dream and Nightmare, Dream reaches out and gets a hold of Nightmare’s SOUL trying to uncorrupt it, sacrificing himself to be able to restore a part of the original Nightmare. Dream dies and the world is cast into absolute darkness, leaving Nightmare stranded in the cold world with nobody to seek comfort from, nobody to help him. Not anymore.

INK <——> NIGHTMARE SWAP AU

Random idea that I came up with after jokingly writing Nightmare getting drunk off of Ink’s vials. Would that actually work?What if the two got into such a dangerous fight that eventually Ink tried to teleport away but Nightmare lunges at him and two get their “goop” mixed together because Ink teleports via INK. And nightmare is made of a INK like substance. If Ink doesn’t instantly die from lead poisoning or something this mixing could mess up his brain while Nightmare just kind of shrugs it off and steals Ink’s vials. Ink would no longer need the vials and rely off Nightmare’s “blood” to feel real negative emotions, slowly craving the stuff more and more than his vials while Nightmare probably gets drunk off the vials or something and takes on Ink’s role. Error and Dream may have to team up to get them back to normal or at least try to.

SHATTERED DREAM BUT SCARIER

So looking at this post made me consider something. What if Dream tried to eat the apples and yknow do what he did in the original AU, but due to the overwhelming and clashing natures of his apple and the dark ones he just…MELTED AND DIED IN FRONT OF NIGHTMARE. He doesn’t even corrupt or anything (well sort of) he just DISSOLVES ALIVE RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. Imagine trying to prove a point and failing THIS BADLY. Anyways, rather than Nightmare being haunted by his now corrupted brother, he’s just ACTUALLY HAUNTED. I was thinking this could be like Phantom Papyrus and Dust Sans and that this new “Dream” (going by Shattered) is just a horrible manifestation of this traumatic event. It’s design and personality wouldn’t be the EXACT same especially not the design (would look so much scarier) but it constantly make Nighty feel like garbage and all that. People like Swap and Ink would have to find and help Nightmare get past this trauma, where only then can he and his “brother” finally move on.

EVIL INK AU BECAUSE YES

I know, we literally JUST went over an Evil Ink AU but hear me out. Wouldn’t he WANT a soul again? Idk if it’s possible for him to reabsorb and claim a soul, he probably can’t, but what if he COULD? He’d probably go nuts over Error’s or something. Just ANYTHING to fill that void other than his vials.

wow most of these ideas involve characters getting traumatized or turning evil. I ain’t sorry though!

Alright so someone on tiktok sent me a link to a compiled list of arguments against proshippers and so I wanted to put a sort of brief response of my own thoughts of each point.

Long post warning!

"Proshippers are non-offending minor attracted people in a fresh paint of coat"

What a start, am I right? Okay so first off this is a huge generalisation, not every proshipper engages with or is even comfortable with anything that sexualises fictional children, or ships them with adults. And of those that do ship adult/minor ships, it doesn't always mean they're attracted to the character themselves or gains any sexual pleasure from that.

They then went on to say that although they might be non-offending, they still fantasise about and romanticise children- in the case of proshippers by creating art and stories. And I am not personally educated enough on how people's minds works to go in depth here, but I do know a lot of pedophilic thoughts can be intrusive and unwanted. And I would much rather people engage in this and deal with their thoughts through fiction where no actual children are harmed, than actually go touch a real child or engage is any form of CSEM.

“People can draw and ship whatever they want!”

Here they went on to say that surely to ship and create content you must justify these things in some capacity regardless of them being fictional. And immediately I'd argue, the justification it that they're fictional. And that sometimes you want to read about things you'd never approve of in real life, it's a natural curiosity. And again, regardless of what the dark content is I would take someone engaging in fiction over harming a real person any day.

They compared this to alt-right groups and dark humour justifying racism and transphobia, etc. And whilst I think something we should always be aware of in fiction is stereotypes and how we may be representing people. Youtube videos like this are usually a type of propaganda that AIM to change people's mindsets and turn them against groups. Whereas fiction tells a story, some may have meanings and connections to real life, be a political piece, etc. Not everything is that serious and has a clear distinction from reality.

Think for example, reading/watching about murder and gore. More on that in a second.

"Fiction doesn't affect reality!"

I'm going to be honest I rolled my eyes at this as their main example was slenderman. If you don't know about that, those girls were schizophrenic. Anything could of set off and caused delusions, it just so happened to be fiction. Those girls needed help- not to just read purer content. They also basically brought up propaganda again, which is again deliberate and designed to warp peoples perceptions. Its based of lying and spreading misinformation and passing it as facts. The only thing I strongly believe can be directly harmful is stereotypes if not handled with care. But I think that's something for anyone who writes and consumes content should be aware of regardless of their stances.

Again here they implied that all proshippers are peodophiles. And that they normalise abuse of children. I'd also like to point out that most proshippers I've interacted with online have age boundaries to avoid interacting with minors depending on how graphic or sexual their content is.

"What do you think all stories about murder should stop existing?"

Here they basically argued that killing in media isn't the same as its not romanticised or condoned. YA Novels disagree- mafia stories being the most immediate example to spring to mind. Furthermore, morally grey villains. One of my favourite films is Mr Right. It's about a hitman killing people. Anna kendrick falls in love with him and its framed as a romantic comedy. Funny how its only fanfiction that's criticised like this? I actually have more thoughts on this if anyones interested.

Again they bring up kids not knowing adults pursuing children is wrong, and I'm questioning why children this young are unsupervised on the Internet. How young were you when you were allowed to watch anything with graphic blood or violence? This content isn't made for kids! Especially not anyone so young they can't seperate fiction from reality as most sites have a specific age you have to be to join. And I'm sorry to say it, but on websites and social media where adults can interact with kids, anything can be used to groom kids. (The real thing you should be mad about here is how there's no websites aimed just for children and safe spaces on the Internet anymore cause it can't be monetised as easily)

"Artists are allowed to draw and write about dark people"

They basically said, yes but it's not the same as promoting. Writing something under a romantic light and not saying "Don't do at home!" Isn't promoting. No ones encouraging these things in real life. Or rather, if they are its not because they're a proshipper but rather who they are as a person and their intentions.

The trans example they used is very extreme and honestly something I agree with a little more, fiction can definitely be used as an excuse to say and act out hateful and discriminatory things. Whilst I do think it's something we should discuss and unpack more, I'm not certain of my view on how I would fix this without risking silencing people talking about their experiences.

"Its not my responsibility to look after other people, just block me and the tags"

Here they threw all kinds of accusations. And says that we're making traumatised people jump through hoops to avoid getting retraumatised. I hate this argument, you know people have actual triggers they may not be able to avoid in real life? The world can't bend around you. And I am very sorry if any content online is traumatising to you, but someone could also be traumatised by a certain breed of dog and not want to see it. Should no one post dogs online ever again? A bald man reminds you of an abusive ex? Bald men get off the Internet! You see how this thing can just keep escalating? The tags and warnings are important because they're the best you can get. You can't control the world to protect everyone from everything ever. No ones forcing you to interact, and if you're on any algorithm based content that will encourage that content on your for your page more.

The only thing I think we should take from this is the reminder that warnings and tags are always important.

"You only care about censoring creativity"

Here they defend themselves that oh wouldn't you want freaks out the community! Which again immediately makes me lose respect for you, if you're just going to brand us all as freaks as an argument and generalize us.

No comment on that first line when you can easily argue antishipper do the same.

"Proshippers are not remotely innocent of targeted harrasement" Neither are antis. There's people who take things too far both sides and I'm not going to defend either for that.

"Real kids get assaulted and all you care about is censoring people online!"

Here they shout "oh I can care about both!" But what I don't think they realise is censorship can make it difficult for kids and to learn about how to speak up and to look for signs, or to speak up about their experiences. How do you plan on removing the topic from the Internet whilst also letting victims speak up? And people may want to write fiction based off their experiences. Who are you to go through it and proclaim what is too far, what romanticises it too much? More on this later.

"Antis are reducing my trauma"

They compared this to saying "date rape victims are reducing my trauma because they weren't taken advantage of in the same way as me" which is a disgusting parallel?? Date rape is still rape. Someone writing about something isn't the same as it happening. Although it can be used as harrasment, grooming, etc if directly addressed to you or being constantly sent to you, written about you. But the content existing in general? No.

"I'm coping"

Compared it to self harm, and such. Poetry and diaries are also used to write about your experiences and unpack trauma. Some of which may write it in an unrealistically positive light cause that's how they want to unpack it or explain those thoughts. And yes these things get posted online.

I can't imagine a single therapist or professional psychiatrist of any kind disapproving of creative writing because, again, it's much better than any alternatives of doing real harm to yourself or people around you. Although I do agree that if something is traumatising for you to read about and just upsets you further, be aware of your own boundaries but not everyone is the same so how are you going to police people's own thoughts and emotions.

Also I can't remember who or where as it was years ago now, but I have heard of people who actually realised they were being groomed or abused and just how bad it was through reading about it in a fanfic and seeing it in an outside perspective.

They also say to do it in private, but doesn't everyone on the Internet now have an understanding of finding a community and looking out for eachother and sharing experiences?

"There's more nuance here than just calling proshippers peodophiles"

Here they say no matter what it still comes down to whether it's ever okay to sexualise minors in certain contexts. And again, not every proshipper does this or is even comfortable with engaging in this kind of content. And further, no one is sexualising real minors in this context.

"I'm a proshipper and a minor tho!"

I'd agree minors should be wary of the spaces they're in but proship spaces aren't always necessarily sexual, graphic or 18+. Saying they're being groomed feels like you're watering down that term. I was a proshipper at age 13, I didn't interact with anyone online about it though, I didn't even know that was the term. I just came to the conclusion that it's just fiction all on my own. Minors aren't idiots.

At then end they talk about their own experience being groomed and I'm obviously not going to nitpick or criticise their experiences. I will point out that one person being bad and taking advantage of you and using content to do so doesn't mean everyone is like that. I am sorry to anyone who has been taken advantage of by someone who claims they're a proshipper though. There are people who have turned out to be horrible on both sides.

I am ill and it's late but I want to get this up sooner rather than later so please ask for clarification on anything. I'm always up for a discussion on this topic as I do believe some of these points do have merits at times and that this whole topic is not black and white

All right listen up therians, specifically dragonkin and those with similar tails- I'm showing you mine, and how to make one like it.

So this is an articulated tail, it moves on its own but still holds its structure and doesn't sag and get tangled in my legs despite its length. It makes noise when it moves, but there's probably ways to fix that.

So to start, draw the silhouette of your tail in its resting position on a piece of stiff fabric, then cut it out. The color does not matter as you'll be covering this piece up entirely. The important thing is that this fabric is not elastic at all, otherwise your tail will be very saggy.

Next, mark lines where you want the joints to be. I tried to keep mine mostly vertical so the tail didn't hang in unexpected ways and drag on the floor, but you can do whatever fits your tail motion the best. Then, use some stiff and bulky material to cut out the individual panels that you've drawn twice. I used cardboard, but you can probably use foam blocks if you want more volume. It helps to trace the shape from step one onto your material, then cut the resulting shape into panels to get the final pieces. Make sure you keep track of which pieces are which.

Next, use some kind of glue or adhesive to attach the panels to your base fabric. Depending on how thick your panels are, you may need to remove some of the material around the joints to allow them to move freely. This is the basic structure of your tail.

Once you have your structure, cut out fabric pieces to create your scales. You'll want to cut out individual pieces for each panel, otherwise you might restrict the tail's movement. I cut my pieces on a fold and folded them over the top of the tail to make the top smooth, since it's the bit most people are going to see. Also, it's a good idea to make each cover piece slightly longer than its corresponding panel so that you can overlap the pieces to hide the joints. You can attach these pieces with adhesive or sewing, whatever works best for you.

To make the base of the tail, just cut out a cardboard piece that can fit your whole tail base on it, and cut slits in it for a belt as seen above. Before covering up the top section of your tail, use glue to attach the edge of your tail to the base plate. Depending on what kind of cardboard you're using, you may want to scratch up the surface a bit first. Then (preferably before the glue dries) use masking or duct tape to strengthen this connection. This part should be completely stable rather than flexible, though a little bit of give is okay. Once you're satisfied with the connection, cover up the base section and base plate with your decorating fabric.

Sorry about the vagueness around materials, techniques, and such. It's kinda reflective of the way I approach crafting as a whole, and I literally used the stuff I had on hand at the time (hot glue, cardboard, leftover fabric scraps from my wings) to make this tail.

So I started playing a solo TTRPG this weekend - I’m trying out a solo Curse of Strahd campaign to see how it works and whether I can hit some of the story beats my other campaign didn’t due to the natural progression of their stories. And I have some thoughts about the process!

1) Honestly I think anyone who likes telling stories to themselves should try playing a solo TTRPG at some point. It’s a delicious balance between “I want ALL THE CONTROL” and “someone please for the love of god TELL ME WHAT COMES NEXT.” 

2) It’s also very good for someone whose attention span issues are similar to mine - I find it really, really hard to concentrate on a game for the amount of time a regular group wants to play. Like, I know my D&D group would probably happily play for more than 3 hours at a time, but that’s the limit of my attention span for running a thing in one sitting. And if I’m a player, I need to be doing Something Else in order to keep my brain happy for several hours of talking and back and forth. (In the Zoom gaming era, “something else” is usually “mindlessly farming crafting resources in a video game.”) But playing solo, I can just go “hey, I’m gonna run a scene for an hour” and then I can be done! And go back to the next scene the next day! 

3) I cannot recommend Mythic GM Emulator enough - either as a tool for solo roleplaying or general GMing or adventure design or just a writing tool. It’s got a great system for asking yes/no questions, determining how likely the ‘yes’ answer might be, and providing a d100 table to roll on accordingly. It also has great tables and rules for generating random encounters, or just inspiring you to think about what this next location/NPC/enemy might be and what role they’ll play in the narrative. 

4) Choose whatever TTRPG system you want to play with the GM Emulator (or whatever tool you choose to replace the GM) based on how much detail you want to deal with. I’m having fun using 5E, but it’s a lot of back and forth between books and character sheets. It would be less work to run it with a more narrative-based system, but that also depends on your comfort level with said system. I’ve been watching a YouTube series of a voice actor who plays his first solo season with Savage Worlds, and that seems to be a good level of crunch versus narrative decisions. And I know Ironsworn is built for solo or duo play, I just need to learn the system at some point. But since I’m incredibly familiar with 5E and CoS in specific, it felt like a good way to test out the GM Emulator and general flow of solo play.

5) I know there are a ton of solo journaling TTRPGs out there, and I plan to play some of them at some point, but where my head is at right now, playing something that has more rails to it is better for jumpstarting my creativity. Leave too many doors open, and I just won’t create anything at all. But hopefully after a while, I can “graduate” (for certain values) to something that simply gives you prompts, rather than a full game system. 

So, I’m having fun so far, and can highly recommend the experience, especially if you want to experience a particular system or adventure but don’t have a group to do it with, or if you just want something to jumpstart your creative muscles.

So, it's a thing that narcissists will come at everything you try to talk to them about like "Yeah, I already know that." and I try very hard not to do that to That Guy because I don't want to be like him at all.

He started talking at me this morning about a watch repair video he saw last night and I already know that. Everything he described the YouTuber doing, his tools set up, his methods, I'm familiar. I went down that rabbit hole years ago.

It's frustrating trying to talk with him about something that I know, because conversations with him aren't conversations. He's going to monologue. You're going to listen, you're going to learn, and you're going to be awed by his intellect and knowledge.

He does this all of the time and I'm tired of it. It's getting more and more difficult to not be like I KNOW 😠 because he assumes you know nothing, and when you express familiarity with the subject he doesn't shift the lecture to a conversation and you don't get to discuss it together. Either he snaps at you to stop talking and continues the monologue, or he stops talking all together and stomps off in a huff.

All the while constantly bemoaning me not having "intellectual debates" with him.

If you show that you know more about the subject than he does, that's even worse.

That happened on Monday when he tried to tell me the plot of a game he'd played years ago, which I had noticed a recurring character between that game and the current one he's playing but he admitted he'd completely forgotten the plot and the characters from the previous game, didn't make that connection, and had to go look it up. So he was going to teach me the story he had forgotten and after 30 minutes of trying to make that into a conversation I got fed up and cut him off by reminding him that I had already demonstrated clearly that I knew the story. He went off in a huff.

It does make me wonder, though, how often when I'm trying to tell him about something or strike up a conversation and discussion and he acts like he knows everything about it, he actually does know something about it.

I mean, I know for certain when I'm truly knowledgeable about the subject he's trying to teach me, and don't know whether or not he actually knows about whatever I'm trying to talk with him about because I'm not inside his brain.

I do think it's not as often because he rarely actually has anything to contribute to the discussion he just repeats things like "Well yeah. Of course. Everyone knows that." that kind of thing whereas when it's me it's things like "Well, no, that's not a dead art at all, it's just rather niche. There's an actor (Aldis Hodge) who designs and creates his own wrist watches from scratch. Of course we still have the technology to create mechanical wrist watches they're still being manufactured for sale...."

I tend to assume he's pretending to already know because he doesn't like anyone else being smarter than him in any subjects.

Need to work on that. The assuming thing.

All-in-all he was expressing, I guess, surprise that this random dude was so into and knowledgeable about fixing watches, that he'd taken the time to learn and understand it all, to get his tools set up just so, and I'm like....

"My dude, you seriously need to get a hobby and experience that for yourself and it would be less surprising."

LU Character Design Analysis 2

The incredible designs for each of the heroes was the first thing that sold me on this story and concept. I love analysing things in stories and character design is something I haven’t talked about yet. I got this idea from watching character design analysis videos on youtube, and those creators sometimes put the designs into a tier list. So I thought I’d do that with the LU designs.

This was originally part of the first post but I realised that it was too long so I moved it to a separate post. I might have to do the others one at a time as well.

8th place: Sky

Sorry, but I really couldn’t rank him higher. Overall his design looks amazing and mostly comfortable, it’s just a little impractical for fighting and more importantly travelling.

Pros: The pastel tunic helps him look unique and it reflects his sweet and mild mannered temperament. It’s cool toned, leading me to think that his kindness sometimes comes more from a place of passive politeness rather than a genuine want to help others.

The embroidery looks super cute and I feel Sun probably did it for him, either as a surprise or because he asked her. The patterns on all the different shirt layers are really nice. I absolutely adore the flared white collar and the style of that blue patterned white shirt™️. While the slightly puffed 3/4 sleeves are blessing my existence with how gorgeous they are, I know from experience that it’s awkward putting a fitted long sleeve shirt on top of such an item.

For real though, the sleeves aren’t long enough for you to hold in your hands so they get all bunched up and then you have to reach inside to pull them back into place and it’s just a hassle...you know?

The red earrings are a nice touch and almost excuse all the bulky clothing because they’re magic and give him heat protection. For that reason he’ll never be too hot or too cold in those clothes and they look fairly comfy, like he could easily take a nap anywhere. The chainmail is essential for his work attire since he is a knight, and I like that his civilian clothes still have green trousers. It’s a nice nod to his Skyward Sword clothes.

Cons: I think the fashionably slitted tunic looks cool aesthetically, but it does look ceremonial rather than combat ready. The embroidery is nice but it should be around the edges of his tunic, not highlighting all the exposed areas. Or if they’re are going to be there, maybe don’t have the slits. The slits make the tunic look fragile. Like if one piece got caught on the chainmail it would snag and tear the whole thing in two.

Now’s probably a good time to mention the lack of support around his waist. His belt isn’t fastened securely because the tunic doesn’t have belt loops, and instead of it being around the tunic it is just wrapped around his red hip blankie. Since it’s not constantly sliding down or needing to be adjusted the belt must be really tight to keep it in place, which sounds awfully suffocating. For his civilian clothes it works because he isn’t moving around as much (I’d argue a sash would be better though, but his SS civilian outfit had it so that’s fine), but in a combat setting where he’ll be doing flips and running around, that material and belt would fly off.

On top of it being impractical I personally think it looks strange on a tunic. Although I’m probably the only one who sees it like that.

I do understand that he needs to have red placed there to balance out his crimson earrings, so maybe make the belt itself red or give it a distinctive red pattern or maybe decorate it with small red feathers from his loftwing- or maybe have it be woven into a complex braid with those feathers. As long as his tunic gets to have belt loops I’m fine with whatever.

Why isn’t he wearing his hat? It’s part of his uniform! I’m fine with him not wearing his uniform exactly how he would in his own era and I get that the hat looks goofy. That’s probably why the chain (except Legend) don’t have it in their designs, but Sky is a goofball. Let him be a dork like Legend and wear his pointy hat.

The sailcloth (although it gives him a nice dynamic silhouette while in action) is too long to be practical and again it looks ceremonial. I don’t think neither Sun nor Sky would like him trailing it in mud while travelling, and not to mention stains are near impossible to get out of white materials!

That long shining white cape would blind anyone and everyone on a sunny day. So on cloudless days he better walk at the back of the group or else Time will lose sight in his other eye. Plus that delicate soft material will get caught in forest undergrowth and shrubbery during treks, slowing him down (which is really bad in his case) and could get in the way during battle. I suppose if the battle was on a sunny day then his cape would disorientate his enemies, but it would blind everyone on the battlefield. Including his allies.

I don’t know how I feel about the gem being part of the tunic. I had assumed it was part of the sailcloth and acted as a sort of clip but now I don’t know how the sailcloth is supposed to be attached.

Wishlist: Tbh I’ve not got anything significant I wanna add. I suppose I wish there was more done with his hair, like if there were ribbons or feathers woven into braids or a bun perhaps. But that would mean he couldn’t wear the hat. And I want the hat more than I want hair feathers.

I ranked Sky higher than Wild because I think his design is more cohesive and I like it better, even if it doesn’t have as much symbolism. But they’re both at the bottom of the list because of the impractical white cape and strange dual-coloured tunic respectively.

So, for those who are unaware, I am a big fan of the band Queen (I have a tattoo and everything lmao). Last year, over on my queen fandom sideblog, I created a small readathon inspired by the band, mostly just to encourage myself to read a bit more than I was. But I thought, now that I’m being more active on here, why not do it again! So... 

Welcome to the second year of the Queen-A-Thon!  

This readathon will run for 14 days (2 whole weeks!) from September 17 through to September 30 (starting and ending at Midnight in whatever timezone you inhabit) which hopefully will give you enough time to get some serious reading in around work/study/whatever else.

Similar to last year, there will be 2 main ways to participate in this readathon. The first is by reading, naturally. To aid you there is a bingo board of prompts, all inspired by Queen and their songs. The second way to join is is by responding to discussion prompts. There is a list of daily prompts to encourage community interaction, each one named after a Queen song and related to reading/books in some way. More info about both parts of the readathon and the prompt lists are below the cut but there will also be 2 followup posts going through them in more detail, so keep you’re eye out for those!

Whichever prompts you choose to respond to and however you do it, tag your posts with #queenathon so I can see and share them!

This year I’ve created a bingo board full of prompts. All you have to do is read as many books as you can to try and cross off prompts and see how many bingos you can get! Books can count for multiple prompts, as many as you’d like, and it's totally up to your own discretion as to how they count, so you may be able to get a bingo with just one or two titles. I’ll be making a separate post with details about the prompts - what inspired them/how they relate to Queen/maybe some suggested titles? - but for now here’s the bingo board. 39. youtuber you’ve been obsessed with and why?

Ok so!! I don't watch that many Youtubers but there are a few I like to have on or listen to when I'm drawing, and sometimes their videos are so good I have to give them my full focus too. Here are some recommendations:

Nitro Rad - Top-tier gaming youtuber. He's introduced me to a lot of obscure 3D platformers, indie games, and horror games (this last category I would never play on my own because I get scared too easily lol). I really admire his approach to analyzing games, wanting to see the positives in them, and trying to see where the devs were coming from even with ideas that don't work out in the end, rather than being exaggeratedly negative or dismissive for "entertainment". When he can't enjoy something at all, you know it must be really horrible, lol (see: Frogger- the Great Quest). He's really an inspiration for my own approach to how I interact with and describe games.

Defunctland - I know a lot of people know about Defunctland but I just have to echo the sentiment that Kevin manages to make everything interesting. So many times I've started the most recent video thinking "I can't possibly care about a Wiggles ride" or whatever, but I managed to be invested and eager to hear about the attraction's fate by the end. He turned an investigation into the four-note Disney Channel theme into a full length documentary that literally made me cry. I'm not a theme park expert but I do love them and find them fascinating and I've learned a lot about theme parks and related topics from these videos.

Matt McMuscles - the What Happened series is always fun and has taught me about the dev histories for a lot of notorious games (and even some good ones!) and how rough and messy the game industry is behind the scenes. Like Nitro Rad, he tries to give credit where it's due; he investigates when "bad" games are the result of crunch, low budget and bad management to help banish myths about devs being simply inept or lazy. But I also really love his "The Worst Fighting Game" series! I don't know much about fighting games myself but it's just cool to see someone analyze something they're so passionate about!

Designing For - ok I'm biased because one of the writers and the person who does the voice-over is my friend, and I've done some art for the channel and even a vocal cameo, but seriously they do amazing work and I'm always super pleased to see their work spread around. They put out a decent-length Donkey Kong video for EVERY DAY this past December and all of them were varied and interesting!! Their analysis is great, and their editing is frenetic and hilarious- so I never just listen to these, I always give them my full attention.

These aren't the ONLY youtubers I watch or anything but they're my favs that come to mind right now.

Oh em geeeeee!!! The finale was so good!!! The first few episodes were a little rough but it all came out for the better. The animation was so good, the fighting scenes, the characters, everything was just so good. I think a lot of the criticisms that it gets are reaching hard. Especially the animation. Like dude who cares if the camera switches perspectives a lot. I didn’t even notice it until some YouTuber talked about it. One thing I do not like however…is the music 😭 I loved the last song in the finale. It’s giving Disney princess and it fits everything else? Um. I love the jazzy ones like stay gone, and Lucifer vs alastor. Everything else reminds me of gacha life. Heaven is forever and poison is catchy and fits, everything else was freaking annoying. Then again I hate musicals. Also unpopular opinion but I do not like the song loser baby. Yeah I said it

Charlie and Vaggie have to be my favorite couple in the entire series. At first I didn’t really care for Vaggie but dude I’m so happy we got some backstory and even character development. She’s probably my top five now. She’s still kind of “just Charlie’s girlfriend” but at the moment I think it kinda fits. I’m assuming she’ll become her own character next season. Still very proud of her!

Charlie is so amazing!!! I love her. I can’t even describe it! I love how she’s not just happy all the time but she worries, she’s angry, she’s sad, she’s insecure. She’s not one dimensional like some main characters. Her demon form is cool asf. I’m happy she actually realized she’s the princess of hell and went full demon mode. I still feel like she was holding back. Maybe that’s just me. Also wtf happened to the cute goat thingie???? Is he dead? He was so cute 😭 also I love her cat keekee. Just adorable.

Cherri bomb’s character was a little strange to me. Like why is giving drugs to Angel? I know she’s a sinner and stuff and doesn’t care about redemption but if she was a good friend she wouldn’t have done that: it’s not like her from what I’ve seen from the addict video but hey! Maybe we’ll get some understanding next season.

Alastor is ok. I don’t care for him but he’s cool.

The egg boys are top tier. Rip sir pentious or whatever his name was.

Angel dust is amazing. His character development is just 😭😭😭 dude I’m so glad he isn’t just the “haha sex joke” anymore but rather “haha sex joke” because that’s his personality rather than just to make the show funny. so my unpopular opinion is that episode 4 was not needed and should’ve waited till season 2. When I think back to it…it just feels like a filler episode? It went too deep for only episode 4 and like they don’t even talk about it after that? And it’s not because of the assault scene. I thought it was written very good it just wasn’t good for s1. I think it should’ve been saved. Him and husk are so cute but I’d like for them to stay friends for a while. I think Angel needs to learn about platonic love before romantic love and build on trust.

Nifty is so funny and adorable. 1000/10

The angels were super cool. the character design are freaking awesome. I love how the excoriates are all women lmao. I like how even heaven isn’t really sure about heaven either. Adam is annoying but he also kept the show interesting. Lute is so badass. The way she ripped off her arm??? 😍 I hate her but love her. And I just love how we have an evil female character. She’s evil because she wants to dammit! The aspects of Christianity was kinda eye opening. As someone who reads the Bible I understand where the angels are coming from but also the demons. Does anyone really know what it takes to get to heaven? Adam was technically right from a biblical point. Follow the commandments and you should get to heaven right? Well not really which is why heaven is kinda tricky. Again super cool. 🤭 I love biblical references in stories.

One thing I love about the show…is how good the female characters are written. Might be an unpopular opinion but I think they’re written amazingly. They have their morals, they’re not all chasing after a man or only living for a man, they have their motives, some are evil, some are good spirited, and some fall into that grey area. I think Vivi wrote them perfectly.

Anyways I rate the show 9/10. I honestly thought I wouldn’t have liked the show after first three episodes but everything else made up for it. I love the show!!! So sad it’s ended already but 😔

Part 5

9th grade 

The entirety of 9th grade was online school. Well, actually, we did go to school for like a week, but that was mainly for the exams, so we can ignore the fact that they are not important. And you know how online school is; I don't need to explain much. It was chill. I had a lot of free time, which led me to develop quite a few interests that year.

I got into transformers.

I started getting into Transformers during that time. At first, some clips of Transformers Prime on YouTube were randomly recommended to me (it was exactly this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZAwYv_N-RQ). " And while searching for it to paste here, I also ended up watching a half-hour essay on Starscream's Wings, and it was mind-blowing, so here's the link to that too, I guess: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFYk_ZFpo9A "). I remembered the show back when I was still watching TV; it aired on CN, and honestly, I never really liked the show back then. Then I realized the reason for that was the fact that I remembered absolutely nothing about the decepticons. Perhaps I decided to give the show a shot back then, and it happened to be an episode that Desepticons weren't in, and I decided that "this show is boring; I'm not watching it" and would change the channel whenever I saw it on. I can't think of another explanation. because the autobots in that show are really boring, like, Omg, why are you so boring? I'm going to be honest, as I've admitted so many things already that it's too late to turn back now. I watched the show solely for Starscream (yeah, Transformers do have weird names, but I love them for them, like imagine them being named Michael or something bruh). Have you seen his design? He has built-in heels, he is the skrunkly

The other decepticons were fine too, I guess. Then I checked out other series too, because Transformers is a pretty old franchise, and as a result, there are many different cartoons and spin-offs about it. There is "G1", which stands for generation one. It's a really old cartoon that aired in 1984, but the whole show is basically just an elaborate toy commercial if you consider the fact that the toys came before the show. And oh yeah, they do have toys; thats the best part about transformers, to be honest, and they do actually transform. G1 toys aren't really impressive engineering-wise, but they get better over the years. There is also a spinoff called "Beast Wars," in which robots turn into animals rather than vehicles. There are other shows, comic books, videogames, and life-action movies that fans often like to ignore or denigrate as bayformers) (and we also do not talk about kiss players), etc. but let's get to the good part. If I hadn't stumbled upon Transformers toy reviewing channels (mostly jobby i guess) on YouTube, things would have taken a different turn for me, and I wouldn't be owning any Transformers figures now.

 From the start, I liked the character designs; yes, I'm also a character design enthusiast. Human designs can get pretty boring after a while; but with robots, you can have all different shapes, sizes, and colors, which is great if you want to make unique and memorable designs (I guess with humans, you can have unique clothing, but whatever!). The idea of robots transforming into vehicles was an excellent touch too; this way you wouldn't just slap on random shapes and hope for the best but instead figure out a way where the vehicle parts would go to form an astechnically pleasing robot, and the vehicle form should reflect the robot's personality too and even on its own be recognizable—we all recognize the Optimus Prime truck, right? All of that on its own impressed me, but what absolutely blew my mind away was this.

Never once did I think this level of engineering was possible. It's like black magic. Incomprehensible. I want to transform it myself to understand how it works better, but oh god, the prices are just... well, there are a few things to know about transformer figure collecting. There are official toys. Hasbro (American-based) and Takartomy (Japanese-based) companies own the Transformers franchise, or something like that. I'm not fact-checking. These are both, like, toy companies? Hasbro also owns Monopoly, so imagine stuff like that. The one I showed you above is a masterpiece figure, and the number comes from how many figures there were before in that toy line, so they just basically enumerated them. That above is mp36 (as in Masterpice and the 36th figure), and the character's name is Megatron. That figure is one of my favorites, and I would buy it if I had the money.

Masterpiece figures aim to recreate the characters' G1 appearance as faithfully as is physically possible while being able to transform and be posable at the same time. There is "mpm" too; it stands for "masterpiece movie," which is just life-action versions of the characters (live-action movie). Transformers have completely different designs thanks to the director of those movies, Michael Bay, which is where the name Bayformers comes from. Needless to say, all of the masterpiece figures are hella expensive; their prices usually vary depending on the size of the character, but no, it's expensive; there is no cheap masterpiece unless you buy knockoffs, which goes into the unofficial third-party market that I will get to in a bit.

Then theres Hasbro; now Hasbro makes relatively cheaper toys targeted at children currently consuming the myriad of Transformers content out there as opposed to Takaraatomy making collectible figures for people who back in the day grew up with G1, so they are now grown adults and can afford those steep prices. These toys come in three classes: leader class, voyager class, and deluxe class, with deluxe being the cheapest and smallest and leader being the biggest and most expensive of the bunch. I personally own 1 leader class, 1 deluxe class, and 4 voyager class figures.

Honestly how i got these figures has a story on its own as toy stores rarely sell them due to their prices being too high. I got most of these second hand.

Those were the official figures. and then there are third-party figures. the meat of the topic. It's basically just companies other than Takara and Hasbro making figures, and their legality is kind of questionable as it borders on intellectual theft because they own the copyrights for the Transformers franchise. but that doesn't really concern us. Another thing about third-party services is that what you get can drastically vary in quality; it could be an amazing figure or it could be really bad. You can't really be sure until you personally hold it in your hands, but Toy Rewiev channels have got you covered. Don't worry. Third parties are usually for official masterpiece-class figure quality, but they are a little cheaper. Then there are knockoffs. Knockoffs are just knockoffs; they literally just copy the official figures engineering and just remove the Aoutobot/Decepticon logo or something like that and sell it for cheaper. These companies are often Chinese for some reason, and the engineering can be more mind-blowing than the officials. Saddly, I don't own any third-party figures; I was so close to buying one, though. But, uh, I don't know about buying something that expensive overseas; I didn't want my package to get stuck in customs, so I decided against it.

There are also non-transforming transformer figures; it's just an articulating robot mode. They do this because it's more aesthetically pleasing. There is a term called kibble, which refers to pieces that have no clear purpose in one mode but are there only because they are part of another mode.

Usually shellformers suffers from this the most. Look at all those penguin parts in the robot mode. Making those parts removable is an option, but that would be partsforming. No one likes partsforming.

 some of the kibble is accurate to the character's appearance on TV, it is part of the character's design. but they are not; there are extra parts that stick out, and then there is less than excellent kibble management.

So if the figure doesn't transform, they can just focus on making it more accurate and posable; it's just an action figure. And, oh yeah, most of the time, the fact that a figure transforms can hinder its poseability. and I think poseability is very important. and a non-transformable Transformers figure is just... meaningless? Like, why are you taking away the best part? I personally wouldn't buy one.

GUNDAMS

Now you can't be in the Transformers fandom for too long before you inevitably hear about Gundams too, and vice versa. They are very similar, minus the transformation, and the robots are way bigger and more pilotable now. They are both old anime that aired around the 1980s, and they are both about giant robots. The best part of both of them is the merchandise.

Gundam merchandise is now available in the form of model kits. They come in pieces. You cut the pieces out of the sheet of plastic with a pair of side cutters before you assembled them like Legos. In the end, you have an action figure of a robot. and they are more customizable than transformers; you can paint them and add details as you like as you build them, unlike transformers.

But I prefer transformers over gundams because you can only build a gundam once (technically, you can disassemble it and build it again, but thats a pain), whereas you can transform transformers as many times as you like. Gundams are also more fragile; I learned that the hard way when I broke my first gundam the day after I finished building it. but then I got another one. Here are some pictures of my Gundams.

Gundam model kits also have classes like Transformers toys do, but they are called grades from small to big: SD grade (basically just chibi). high grade (mine are both high grades, so they are small). real grade (real grade is small like high grade but way more detailed) Master grade (bigger) perfect grade (even bigger)
