The difference in response between Vegas and Baku is SO REAL!! You can always tell when Max genuinely becomes fond of a driver cause his response to them terrorizing him on track is always just like “well it was fun/ honest racing incident” when before he would have thrown a hissy fit. Couple that with the fact that George said a few weeks ago he actually hangs out with Max in Monaco 1:1 and him being one of the most publicly supportive when Max won his 3rd WDC? Compelling… like somehow they’ve become genuine friends. They play padel with just each other! They play FIFA! They hang out one on one! George said Max is the current best on the grid! Max picked George as who he thinks will be a future WDC! Like okay boys

What makes his Vegas response even more insane to me is the fact that he doesn’t lash out at George for this crash that definitely could’ve ended his race and instead immediately assume that it wasn’t intentional and that George just didn’t see him. And then proceeds to double down on that after seeing the incident while also saying he doesn’t think George should have gotten a penalty 😳

I have not seen the article where George says that omg pls send. But there was just like a long stretch of races where you can see like oh they genuinely hang out and seem to actually enjoy each other presence.

-yea some of this is lore-based. i talked aobut the coffin thing before i think but. yea the mini shitty poem thing i made is relatively based on ikari’s pov on Eleven’s “death” and thier own (shortly followed) death (it’s continued underneath) but if you have trouble reading it here’s the grey text:

Your grave was in the field, a place unrevealed: c!ikari often hangs out in a field either because something is actively happening in lore or otherwise. but most the time, it’s a “safe” ish place for ikari. not many know about that place and it’s special to them because they often go there to just think about things. they end up burying thier friends multple times in said field, and this was the first.

but it turned out you turned traitor too, living concealed, did it appeal?;: ikari feels betrayed after the fact that Eleven had simply pretended to be dead/dissapeared. the traitor part comes in part with them associating thier friendship as nothing to Eleven, espiaclly after Eleven kills them shortly after they reunite. more context in the next section

; gone in a spark, once nonexsitent feelings swarm me like sharks, : the last ikari saw of Eleven before assuming them dead was a large spark...going, going, and gone. they didn’t understand what quite happened but 1. they’re pretty sure asuka just tried to kill them 2. there’s no body 3. why would he dissapear on us unless hes not and he’s fuckin dead. so kari assumes him dead and holds a funeral for him in thier field as a sign of respect. however, this also refers to ikari’s own emapthy/sympathy for him as (again FUCKING KILLED AND STRANGLED AND PUNCHED ) yea. however, they feel betrayed and hurt, and they hate that eleven has made them feel all those emotions that had came before: grief, sadness, a mourning and a sort of loss. they hate that eleven has made them that way, and they hate that those feelings came out for someone who was ultimately unwilling to listen to them. they feel like eleven used them.

COFFINS FOR THE BOTH OF US BUT THEY’RE STILL EMPTY: ikari buried an empty coffin for Eleven. Eleven left Ikari’s body to rot in a warehouse. also, ikari has a sort of vengance/grudge that now builds up from season to season. if ikari was supposed to stay dead, be dead then they’re going to make sure eleven stays in one too.

did some writing in discord the other day and it struck me that i could run a private discord that i kept the rough works in, sorted by channels and (if i got around to reopening it) have a patreon link for pre-reading/discussion (in other channels). it would be an interesting way to keep track of fic, to have like, active ones or inactive ones and switch between them, though i think i'd have some trouble navigating?

then again, i could use pins to keep track of chapter breaks and also i would be copying things over from discord to a document/file regularly. I've just relied on google drive for so long that switching away from it is difficult. i might set this up and see how it feels to use. see if it makes sense or not.

hearthstone is effectively finished now. ive got a short epilogue chapter, but! that's it.

minor update! it's been like, a week into the goal--you know. the goal--and we have gained 5 chapters already (plust like an extra five bc i missed a wip that had some on it) SO we are at 134/365!!

daily wordcount is about 3.1k now! its really fascinating to see it be dynamic, you know? like, finishing a chapter actually has an effect on the total wordcount per day.

as for where these chapters went, here's a list:

hearthstone got finished (4 chapters, including an epiloge---though im planning on posting these over the next few weeks so it doesnt really count)

fourth got a chapter (a family affair) and it's cycled back around to the next one on the docket for tomorrow

epistolary sequel got about half a chapter (they're gonna be long ones)

handfast got a chapter and a half. im very excited about this one. i love the utter nonsense it is. its fun to have a feelgood fic you know?

lion blooded got its first chapter finished! i had to scrap a whole scene and a half, which sucked, and honestly i kind of futzed the timeline again but whatever. i dont care i like it this way

where you're needed now has 2 chapters in queue (up from the 1 from last week)

and i just finished the third chapter of dissolution (which has spread out to probably be about 5-8 chapters, depending on how much goes on in these next ones) this one is the hardest one to work on? but its good i think. the worldbuilding expansion it does is, well not important but interesting, i think. i hope people like it :)

i've been considering, if i finish epistolary in time, i'll post it for valentines day. that would be fun. we'll see! the goal is that every time a fic in the active wip list gets finished, i either pull up a whole new set or discard which ones need time to germinate. im not sure which i'll do for this set, since technically hearthstone was the one that got finished last time and it was kind of a focus all on its own.

anyway, that's it for today's update on word stuff! i think im gonna call it a night and see what fics i can pull up to read. :P
