My final piece of 2023!! I wanted to not only make sure this project is still a thing, but also that page illustration for it is occurring for certain this year!! The book cover for the first part. Included binding, back cover w/ synopsis, and the inside page. Certainly some room for improvements, but I'm pleased with this. It feels official!!

hehe more pkmn teams under the cut bc I influenced thyme and influenced myself… part 3

pikachu, sparky - no one’s surprised by this I’m sure. gifted to him as a pichu after his quirk manifested and they have a very close bond. adamant and proud of it’s power. knows volt tackle, iron tail, thunderbolt, brick break

jolteon, sandā - gotten as an eevee for his 10th birthday, and evolved into a jolteon a year or so later. out of all his pokemon, she spends the most time out of her pokeball just behind sparky. timid and likes to run. knows substitution, shadow ball, signal beam, and thunderbolt

electabuzz, raiden - caught during his first internship. while still new to the team, he fits in well and often imitates denki. jolly and alert to sounds. knows discharge, ice punch, brick break, and thunder.

luxio, rajin - caught as a shinx during the sports festival. still more shy than the rest of his pokemon, though he’s warming up to them slowly. adamant and somewhat of a clown. knows wild charge, ice fang, crunch, and facade

boltund, flash - caught as a yamper during his second internship. very affectionate and warm, and very protective of denki and the rest of the team. naughty and likes to fight. knows bite, fire fang, thunder fang, and play rough.

flaaffy, woola - never offically caught, but started following him around when she was a mareep and he was younger. she’s extremely protective of him. modest and highly curious. knows thunderbolt, power gem, signal beam, and light screen.

manectric, kamin - caught as an electrike during the final selection. he nursed it back to health and it’s been with him since. timid and alert to sounds. knows thunderbolt, signal beam, overheat, and magnet rise.

luxray, geki - given to him as a shinx by gramps after he was done with his training. doesn’t really listen to zen, but will protect him with his life. adamant and a little quick tempered. knows ice fang, fire fang, wild charge, and crunch.

pidgey, chuntaro - based on his sparrow of course ! jolly and alert to sounds. unknown if it knows any moves or not

rapidash, epona - his horse, of course ! she’s been with him for many years and his most trusted companion. gentle and has good endurance. knows flare blitz, megahorn, low kick, and wild bolt.

lycanroc, twili - the representation of his wold form ! adamant and likes to fight. knows stone edge, crunch, brick break, and return.

aegislash, faron - you guessed it, the master sword and the hylian shield ! adamant and scatters things often. knows swords dance, king’s shield, shadow sneak, and sacred sword.

gallade, colinne - based on colin, his not so secret favorite kid. jolly and alert to sounds. close combat, pyscho cut, swords dance, and night slash.

lucario, russ - based of russel. hardy and takes plenty of siestas. extreme speed, aura sphere, dark pulse, and dragon pulse.

luxray, minde - based on, you guessed it, midna. jolly and likes to relax. wild charge, ice fang, crunch, and fire fang.

pagi ini rasanya aneh. aku kek lebih ceria dari biasanya. sepulangnya ke kosan abis semalem nginap rame-rame di kosan temen, aku nyuci wadah nasi yang aku rendam dari kemaren, nyuci baju, beresin kamar, sampe buang sampah. trus sekarang aku udah di depan laptop, (niatnya sih) mau nyelesaiin semua deadline sebelum tanggal 1 menyapa.

oh! aku bahkan mulai peduli lagi sama wajahku yang berhari-hari ini ga pernah aku rawat. ga pernah maskeran, bahkan pake toner yang sebelumnya rajin jadi banyak banget bolongnya. tiap pagi ke kampus pake bedak bayi sama lip cream doang. siang-siangnya komedo udah bersemi ya bodo amat. tapi tadi pagi, abis mandi, aku pake toner lagi, trus pake aloevera, trus pake lip scrub juga karna belakangan ini bibirku kering terus dan sering aku kelupasin sampe luka.

hm..something’s fishy.

aku udah baik-baik aja, ya? aku udah gapapa? aku udah baikan sama diriku sendiri?

aku ga tau ini mengarah ke hal yang lebih baik atau malah lebih buruk,

because deep down, it seems like i deceive myself.

dan ketika tadi aku dengerin lagu Spring Day nya bangtan, aku hampir nangis di bagian bridge sampe chorus terakhir:

Pixel’s reference sheet. She is Eldoron’s companion/familiar

A type of insect/pixie hybrid. Her third eye moves independently from the others. This along with her 4 hands and tiny stature allows her to squeeze into tight spaces to help fix all of Eldoron’s ongoing projects.

She loves to hide out tucked between Eldoron’s head feathers. Though unsure if it is true for all of her kind, Pixel herself is a mute. Over time the two perfected their own sign language using hand signals, whistles, chirps, taps, and clicks.

Thirdly, she has limited healing powers for subcutaneous wounds and is hypersensitive to others, strong magics, and emotions.

Lastly, Pixel got her name from an instance where someone compared her glowing magic dust to bright dots on a screen.

This clean up took way too long……..8 hours! Zoom in for details! Jessie/Jesse’s species are combinations of Centaurs, Ents, Golems, and Fauns…..still figuring out a good name for their race. Males are centaur like while females are more faun like. There are different subtypes that attract unique geological and biological species. Jessie is a stone subtype where rock and minerals erupt from her back, hindquarters, and shoulders on occasion or during shifts in the seasons. Her skin can also completely harden to stone when in danger. Her family left their home planet to share their bounty and knowledge of potent native ingredients and their supernatural ability to regenerate from many types of injuries. They opened up their own apothecary to heal others in need. Their only daughter yearned for more than just medicine and branched out to alchemistry to include powerful potions and enchanting spells. Finally Jessie used to be fearful of smaller critters and crawlies until Trish introduced her to a Crystalline Werebat which she named Shadow. She now has a small collection of familiars to help in the garden, lab, and personal protection plus hygiene. These include a Squishy Spikeshell, a Quilled Brushglider, a Flutterheaded Phibanole, and a Glowing Tapjump

I wanted to go over the logo one final time so it pops on any cover art while remaining readable. I realize down the road a professional logo designer may come in handy for further improvements. However I find this suitable for web based publication!

The end of 2023 was really rough for me and my family so I needed to take a break from some REOD related things. However I managed to keep working on finishing the script and I’m about a week out from my personal deadline to complete it. Nearly 85 pages now. When finished it will be close to 500 illustrated pages! Dang! Book 1 is one if the shorter books in the series too!

I am working to finalize the looks for everything and everyone too. Messing around with a color palette for Rajin which has been tricky but I think I found a concept I like!

Rajin is an ancient ship built thousands of years ago weaved together from the ether and stars themselves. It was only discovered buried in ruin by Eldoron and his crew while out on their adventures/ important missions. Rajin is made from a material that they coined as Runanium because it acts as this nearly living shell, a conduit for concentrated magic that glows through it like blood in our own veins. Tried to make it look the part as this almost organic thing built from darkness and light long long time ago while magic was at its peak but isolated to one part of the vast Universe.

Orion’s character sheet!

He is from an elf like race whose bodies course with primal magic which surface during adolescence. Each one is uniquely changed by said magic bestowing them with certain powers. For example one born of air might grow a pair of feathered wings and able to manipulate the wind to varying degrees.

In Orion’s case, he was born with magical resonance or the vibrational energy that exists within all non living things. He is capable of manipulating this energy to move, soften, or harden these things. His powers are akin to telekinesis, transformation, and force field generation.

His body turned into one that allows this energy to flow freely like water off a merman’s fins or a naga’s tail allowing him to shape shift into these beings. His eyes have multiple corneal layers and pupils which he can independently move/twitch in a way that allows him to detect an objects resonating energy so he can match it with his own for a more powerful cast.

Name: TBD (ideas welcome!)

An Fulcurl, or an alien cat species was a stray in the back streets of Youndre. She adopted Ian as her companion during a rough transition shortly following the “accident”.

Her fur changes colors when showing extreme emotions while her spines collect and hold onto electrical charges that she can later concentrate into her whiskers. These charges come in handy when Ian’s prosthetics lose power or when he needs to jumpstart a new invention.

Ian has a harness and a mobility chair attachment for her to tag along almost anywhere on Rajin.
