Can you share what you know about Marc Guiu with us bestie?

Basically he's been in La Masia since the Benjamin Stage which is the youngest you can join. He's a true masia kid. He's from Catalunya, speaks Catalan perfectly. He has a sister. He recently was given a chance with Barca B and Rafa Marquez as well and he scored. He's a top dog in the juvenil. And he did a great job with the NT earlier this year.

For those interested also... We have about 8 kids from la masia competing in the U17 World Cup which starts on November 10th against Canada. Marc, Hector Fort, Pau Prim, Pau Cubarsi (he's a good one to watch for coming up), Quim, Andres, Marc Bernal, and Juan Hernandez.

There’s no way they’re actually considering Rafa Marquez as the manager. Not only is he not that great and has no experience, but no one will join for him, he won’t have Xavi’s pull when we can’t offer big salaries, so if we don’t have Xavi we should at least have a manager that will attract players.

xavi definitely isn’t the perfect option, but from all the reports it seemed like the favorite to replace him was rafa marquez. i don’t know about you, but i’ll gladly take another year of xavi over rafa marquez who’s only experience so far as a manager is two years with barça b. hopefully next year if xavi doesn’t renew his contract barça can get a better and more experienced manager. it’s not so bad having him stay, he’s not always the best but he has potential as shown by last year, it’s just been a bit of a shit year with all of the injuries.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been thinking, we can’t really afford other options like flick yet, so there’s that!

I agree, I’m actually a big fan of Xavi-Ball, the thing with tiki taka and fast positional fútbol is that you need a player like busquets to connect everything and be able to break spaces on the opponents defense, we don’t have a player like him anymore so that job goes to Pedri/Gundogan/Christensen. Pedri shouldn’t play defensively, he’s an offensive midfielder but yeah… Also, for tiki taka to work, you have to rely on immense talent, you can’t have average athletes playing that form because they will fail (Romeu).

I am still in full support of Xavi given our situation. But maybe I’m just a big fan of him as a player, for me he was the best midfielder in the world so I’m glazing.
