@radiokill sent ── ❛ working together again, it’s just like old times! ❜
gleeful laughter echoes from the demon , a joyous haunting sound. his tall stature wavers back & forth animatedly. " verily , i have sorely missed our ventures. " one of the overlords zestial rather enjoyed the company of, well - earned respect & familiarity in the squint of four glowing eyes. his hand extends , cloak opening with a warning of neon colors , splayed open only to crush into a fist exaggeratedly. " thou hast a knack for coaxing forth their screams. "
@radiokill : " Murder is an option. " - for any of your muses!
Deep breaths, Vaggie. Deeeeeep breaths.
You would think, after all these months, she'd have gotten used to Alastor's presence in the hotel. Yet, he seems perfectly crafted to unsettle her, even now. His ability to creep up on her when she was focused, and that infernal static that had wormed its way so deep inside her skull that it rattled her nightmares. For some reason, Charlie trusted him. And she trusted Charlie. That should have been good enough.
That should have been good enough.
"The scary thing is, I think you're actually trying to help with that suggestion." Violence isn't a solution? Well, she can't exactly say that without the burn of bitter irony on her tongue, so she instead just rolls her eyes : "I don't think that would paint the hotel in a good light, do you?"
@radiokill sent: "⸺And what's that funny little tune you've been mumbling, Husker....?" As if to emphasise, the radio demon hums a few notes himself. You're a loser, baby...
*.:。♦ *.:。 Most of the time, Husk didn't even realize he was humming anything. It was very subconscious, whenever he was cleaning or doing any busywork. However, when Alastor brought it up he was all too aware of it. He tenses at the inquiry, but tries his best to shrug it off.
❝ Just somethin' that's been stuck in my head, I don't know... ❞
❛ people can do worse things than kill you ❜ for Charlie
"I SUPPOSE SO..." Her voice trailed off, brows knitting together into a frown. "I haven't really had much experience with that sort of thing..." She admits, and feels a small flush of shame as she says that. She had been very privileged like that thanks to her family- shielded from most of the dangers of hell for a majority of her life.
alastor earns a sheepish giggle for his antics. charlie tucks a lock of hair behind her ear, elbows cinched into her ribs whilst she muses on his deductions. in the face of imminent annihilation, even her wildest dreams of redemption may not seem too absurd . . . her soft laughter fades into a chuckle, somehow none too thrilled at the prospect of pandemonium.
❝ i don't want people to stay just because they don't think they have any other options. ❞ her admission sounds willfully obtuse once she hears it out loud, another misunderstood thought now existing outside of the machinations of her brain, only to be shredded industrially. he's trying to be helpful, to make her look at the silver lining, while here she is stuck on her past failures. i want them to want to be here, her inner voice pleads.
charlie shakes herself free from the wistful yearning of her daydreams. instead, she thinks back to the disarming reality of exemplary teamwork she had come home to on that otherwise dreadful day. the moment she watched their new commercial with misty eyes took the cake and the frosting on reasons to call it "happy" at all. empowered once more, she hugs her memory tight and full sprints with the joy it gave her, beaming her starlight smile al's way.
❝ the advertisement though, i know it'll work miracles! ❞
" You simply don't get enough credit, my friend! "
THIN, CROOKED LIPS ARCH most deviously, thoughtful hum being an initial response crafted over watchful ego. “But credit be oft not of interest to me,” he admits; whether he's being strategically honest or simply JESTING is unclear ( what ironic juxtaposition! In Pride, no less! ).
radiokill asked: « maybe i should put a collar on you, next time. » - for Lilith
A single eyebrow rose. How...interesting to say the least. Her lips twitched in amusement as she purred out lowly, "Really now? I think you might enjoy it a bit too much, Alastor~"
"I do not want to hear that from you. People who appreciate subtlety don't walk around looking like that," He was hardly much different but he wasn't the one started this.
although charlie tries awfully hard to make her sniffles sound inconspicious, they don't go unnoticed by the radio demon. the princess dries her eyes on the backs of her palms, trying her best to vanquish the unwelcome tears clouding her illuminated orbs before facing him fully. a graceful turn on the sole of her leather shoe squeaks away the majority of her troubles and worries as she endeavors instead to greet alastor with an attempt at a smile on her face.
❝ of course! there's no time to waste on . . . um, nonsense. ❞ back straight, chin up! that would serve as a beginning to what she needed to do to pull her people through this bad news, one step at a time. all evidence of her crocodile tears should be gone for good now: instead, charlie tries on for herself a little bit of the confidence she sees al showcase all the time.
sometimes the best advice is the toughest to follow.
