I can't help but believe Soap is a fan of the Backstreet Boys or boy groups in general. Their music is how he expresses his love for you.

Initially, you were unaware of it when you first started dating. Whenever you become angry and give him the silent treatment, he tends to say, “Quit playing games with my heart“, in his distinct Scottish accent. You give him a puzzled look as if he has gone mad.

You were a huge fan of boy bands during your teenage years, even screaming when the Backstreet Boys appeared on TV. However, you were unaware that your boyfriend referenced them.

“Since when do you listen to the Backstreet Boys?“ You looked at him curiously with his phone in your hands. “Backstreet Boys best songs“ was the name of his playlist. As you were en route to see your parents, you suggested switching the music since his phone was connected to the radio.

Soap blushed slightly and focused on driving.

“Come on… tell me. “ 

“Ach, nae, ye'll just laugh at me an' think I'm a wee softie.“ Soap glanced in your direction, his voice barely above a whisper - a rare occurrence for the typically boisterous Scottish man. He was perspiring and overcome with shame, fearing your potential laughter.

You couldn't help but giggle at the sight of his blushing face. Despite being a soldier, you were well aware of his soft side. Whenever he returned home, he would immediately snuggle up to you, grateful to have you by his side. Despite his claims of being a devoted heavy metal enthusiast, every time he was asked to name three songs, he struggled to name one fucking song. 

“Sing with me, Johnny!“ When you played his playlist and sang loudly. His cheeks turned a deeper shade of red, but he couldn't resist joining in and singing with you.

'Mabel would like the Backstreet Boys' Obvious take, but which of their songs would be her favorite? I Want It That Way and As Long As You Love Me are pretty obvious choices. Maybe a Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) in there for good measure. She'd probably be ALL over Don't Go Breaking My Heart when they released it in 2018.

Honestly any of the songs with the word 'heart' in them would probably be up her alley, they have SO many. Sure, she'd throw on an Everybody (Backstreet's Back) when the situation called for it, but that's on her party mix. Casual listenings? She's all about those 'I love you, I'd never leave you, you're the only one for me' songs.
