Based off/Inspired by Lux's I Stayed In The World's Quietest Room Until I Went Crazy video
Fem reader
. . .
Been staring at you for days
Lux had recently beaten his old world record for the longest time spent in the quietest room. He still saw little afterimages of the hallucinations he had, specifically the woman in white. She'd wasn't exactly a hallucination but rather a ghost that followed Lux around, intrigued by him and how the world had evolved since dying. Never having known of phones or electricity. Lux, unable to hear her surprised shout at the airhorn, 'But they're not going for a hunt.'
But you never seem to look my way.
Perplexed by the foam walls and darkness Lux plunged himself into. Y/n always wondered why people chose darkness when they had the ability to have light whenever they wanted. Lux had been in the room for a little over an hour, 'There's no way that's been an hour. Time moves differently here y'know?' It does? Y/n adding to the list of places where time didn't follow its regularity. So far on the list; airplanes, waiting rooms, trains amongst others. Y/n didn't even know what a train was until she saw Lux board one.
My "I love you"s in your alphabet soup seem to go to waste.
'I am starting to see stuff around the room. Like there's just a person standing there, like in that corner.' Y/n being ecstatic that Lux could see her for once. At the same time sadden, as Lux simply thought it was his brain playing tricks on him. 'Cause it's not real.'
Lux being prompted to walk in a straight line by the medic outside the room. Even though she knew that he wouldn't be able to feel her hand, y/n still wanted to help. 'He's so disorientated.'
That's an understatement, y/n thought to herself.
Been keeping myself at bay.
'You alright Lux?' Freezy asked him, seeing how he'd glance towards the corners of a room every once in a while. But when Freezy would direct his gaze in the same direction, he didn't see anything. 'Yea, just keep seeing things.'
'What, like dead people?' Harry now walking into the kitchen, grabbing a cup of tea. 'No...I don't know.'
'Why not try an ouija board? Could make a video out of it.' Freezy suggested, not being serious. 'That's probably the stupidest idea I've heard.' Harry said before leaving the room. 'Yea, but it's not the worst.' Lux remarked to himself before quickly grabbing his key. Now on his way to buy an ouija board.
Now everything's pear-shaped.
'Okay, here goes nothing. Lady in white, what is your name?' the camera sat on his desk, filming. Lux didn't know if the footage would come out clear enough. Thinking even if the ghosty woman appeared, he'd end up with a good bit of waffling. Hopefully entertaining for the masses who followed his channel.
He sat on the floor of his bedroom, sitting crossed legged with the board in front of him. Not able to see her, he instead felt her presence. With a small smile, she kneeled forward, pushing planchette around the alphabet. 'Y-y/n?  Your name's y/n...that's a lovely name.'
'How long have you been here?' Not really knowing how to specific his question. I guess he's asking if I've been here since before the last video. 'Since I've moved in! No offense but what do you do with the time?' Y/n wished for a better way of communicating with Lux. 'Watch? What do you watch?'
I guess boys with beating hearts beat a boy buried in the backyard.

about school life : ) ) )))
CW: abuse and torture(according to my therapist idk) mainly just talking about quiet rooms/time out rooms that they used to take care of misbehaved kids or dysregulated autistic children
so you know resource rooms at schools right? the place they send autistic children and misbehaved children kids with adhd and such? I was sent to one of those most of my school life. one of them had a VERY special item in the room, it was a small closet sized room with a door that only had a handle on the outside that was basically a handle you push down that kept the door shut as long as it was held...
So this quiet room/time out room was where I'd have to see multiple teachers dragging both angry kids or kids screaming and begging to be let down before getting locked into that room. I remember the screams and the banging, I remember the sobs and pleading. I remember the sobbing slowly fading into whimpers and sniffles until it was silent, only once it was silent would you be let out, I had to learn to turn off my emotions and shut off my brain, I would shut out the world completely and go completely blank until a teacher would tap my shoulder.
the times I remember being angry and yelling at teachers and getting dragged in, being locked in a room you can't get out of, first was anger, screaming at them angrily and kicking and body slamming the door, punching and trying to break out, my therapist said that was the fight or flight instincts because your body thinks its in danger and that's why its torture. eventually you realize it won't stop, you would start sob and beg and please and apologize, but that wasnt enough for them if you were crying and begging you were still upset so they wouldn't let you out, you'd have to cry out until you just go limp and lay there. I remember the sound of the light of the room waiting to be let out, I remember the echoes of my screams and other kids screams. it was the worst feeling in my life and terrifying and I'm realizing now why I get so anxious when I enter a closet that the door will shut behind me and lock me in, every time I brings back those same feelings of fear. I don't think I can properly ever describe how awful it felt
sometimes students would piss themselves, once one tried to kill himself using the outlet which they later covered up. my therapist told me someone she knew found out about the room once coming to the classroom unannounced and hearing their kid screaming and then shoving the teachers out of the way to pull their kid out and home schooled them after that.
it terrifies to think that these rooms still exist in this buildings and still might be used. the other quiet room at my high school was not a closet was larger and had desks and an ex bodyguard buff as fuck guy to sit there to make sure you didnt try to run, they'd also drag kids in there so you;d have to duck sometimes as kids kicking and flailing were dragged pass you and forced to sit down. one time while sobbing and crying when I realized I was forced to go that place instead of high school and was mad I tried to push back him when he was blocking the doorway. he grabbed my by the neck and slammed me into the wall and looked me in the eyes and said "Don't you ever hit me again" because I tried to push him out of the way??? the fact that this is how students with different needs are treating in school systems terrifies me, and the fact that politicians claim that the real issue is somehow the "Gay agenda" "trans agenda" as children are literally being traumatized for life.

Home theatre sound dampening panels for DIY people
Home theaters are rapidly becoming the movie hall of today. Though the screen, seats, and overall interior of the room are all vital, the one factor that can make or break your project is the sound of your room. Home theatre sound dampening panels are the secret in creating a room that keeps sound where it should be, and that is not the next room over.
Keep in mind the days when you would pack up your car and take the family for a movie. Some of you might and some of you might not, as the world of movie watching has drastically changed over the years. Theatre has evolved into a more contemporary movie theaters we know today, where you sit in inconvenient seats, between crying children and boisterous teenagers, eating a small bag of cold popcorn that costs as much as the whole box from the grocery store. However, there is still demand for a quiet room that can be used as a home theatre.
Tumblr media
Home theaters are rapidly becoming the movie theatre of the modern era. The comfort of walking downstairs to watch a movie with your family is a huge advantage to those that determine to take on the chore of adding such kind of addition along with a sound diffuser.
Sound insulation is one requirement that sound reducing curtains will definitely lessen the noise in your room up to 60 percent when installed properly. Sound insulation is used as a blocking method to keep the sound from travelling through the ceiling, floors, windows and walls.
Anti-vibration isolation platforms and Bass traps are other sound dampening products that work to acoustically tune your room. Bass traps capture low frequency sound while some of these platforms float a device to lessen surface vibration, resulting in fuller and tighter sound.
