hello, friends! 🥳 i am excited to announce that i have reached 2k followers!!!

since my semester is winding down to an end and i have been having some troubles with writing lately, i thought that doing a little excerpt/drabble event might be a fun way to get the creative juices flowing, so here is what i have in mind...please read all the rules before joining in on the fun!

Rules & Guidelines:

there are two levels of participation to this event:

anons & blank profiles can only get sfw excerpts

folks with age or age range listed clearly on their profile can get nsfw excerpts & drabbles

this means you can either have an exact birthday ("21") listed or you can have a range/year that you are born in ("80s baby" "in my 30s" "94 liner" etc.) this is because i do not give smut to minors, nor do i encourage it, and i need to be able to see that you are at least 18+. this also has to be clearly listed in the open; i am not going to dig thru 'about me' and 'faq' posts/pages to find anyone's age.

anyone under 18 with their age listed will be blocked because i do not want minors interacting with me at all.

how to participate:

pick a character of mine or let me choose by telling me whether you want any member x member or any member x reader

send me a little dm with your choices

crossover pairings are allowed! want a certain character from one fic and a certain character/reader from another? let's do it!!!

if there is a particular scene that comes to mind with the prompt, you may tell me what it is, but i may be less likely to build of an existing scene that create a new one.

and if you would like me to put some kind of holiday spin on it, i can try, depending on how inspired i am to do so. i'm kind of a scrooge when it comes to the holidays, but feel free to ask for it!

all of my past characters are acceptable, unless it is for a fic that i have orphaned. a short list of orphaned fics can be found at the bottom of my master list.

please only submit once! if the event is slow, i may call for more people to join, and at that point you can submit another.

depending on how inspired i am by each request, i may write just a couple lines of dialogue or i may write a full on drabble.

hello!! i’ve been lurking and reading your self aware yandere ensemble stars au!! all of the ideas are so fun and creative that i can’t help but thought of one myself jsjsjsjjs

the characters probably become so happy when you put them on your team! they get to perform just for you and they get especially happy when you set them as the solo…you want to see THEM perform not the other characters in your team…i bet they all get so jealous…

and if you don’t play with the 3dmv they get a bit sad that you don’t want to watch them perform but i think they’d understand that you could get distracted from your combo and they really want the live to succeed because they really want to see the happy look on your face!…doesn’t mean they wouldn’t want to be put as the center so that you could look at only their card illustration alone tho <33 maybe not having 3dmv on is better…

also you know how setting someone as solo will give you more of their character gem thingy? just like the gacha they might also compete for that! the more gems you have of them the higher the chance that you will build their card you use them in lives more right?

How the characters feel when you put them as the center of your team

You´re quite right with that! Getting put on your team is just one more possibility for you to show your favoritism alongside other game mechanics. Every time you pick a song they´re all anxiously waiting for you to select your team with the cards you want to use. They´re all there, just waiting and hoping that you´re going to let them perform for you this time.

You chose a song from their unit so obviously you´re going to put them on the team now, right? Omg on that note what if the characters themselves are creating these missions in a tour event where you have to use the original members while playing the song, just for a chance to get to be used by you?

They´re definitely especially happy when you let them perform the solo! You want to see them over anyone else, you must love them so much! Don´t worry, they love you too!! Just let them show you how much they appreciate you by trying their absolute best as you play the song!

Imagine how the others must be sulking though. Like sure, they´re happy they were put on the team but they absolutely dread the moment when the spp comes up because they know the game and you will focus on just the idol put as the solo for a few seconds, completely removing the others from the screen. There´s absolutely nothing they can do except stand to the side as that one lucky bastard gets to have all of your attention for a bit.

Let´s not speak about all the characters that didn´t get to even be on your team, they´re either furious or very sad and disappointed and they can just stare at everyone else in jealousy. They want to stand on that stage and dance for you! They want their chance too!

And yes, if you happened to put your live settings to 2d only they would be a bit disappointed at first because they can´t show you their beautiful outfits or their dance moves this way but they try to be understanding. The MVs take up a lot of storage on your phone and it can be very distracting when you´re trying to get a full or perfect combo. The one huge benefit to this is that you will only see the cg of your center card, meaning that they are the only thing you see for the entirety of the song. It´s like the others don´t even exist and you and them are the only thing that matters. It´s a wonderful feeling to be the only one you look at, even if only for a small amount of time

And yes, the character gems! What if instead of just something you can use to level up your cards, they see it as a sort of token that shows them the amount of affection you hold for them? I mean, the more you put them in the center, the more you will get of that character´s gems. It only makes sense to look at it as some sort of measurement of who out of them you like the most, right? They´re all kind of fighting about this, being happy when you have a lot of their gems and being sad when you don´t.

💘 Is it easier to write angst or fluff?

Even though I've done more of it lately, I feel like fluff is more difficult to write than angst. Probably because the characters I write tend to be angst magnets--putting them into a fluffy situation and having it be convincing and thematically-appropriate can be a bit of a challenge.

And it's like Aloy can feel every bit of the length Talanah has taken, hilted deep, straddled tight together. Makes her dizzy, warm and tingling all over—makes it hard to concentrate. But she wants to. So she lets her head loll back against the wall and gazes up at Talanah, trying to narrow her focus to her face—to her lust-hazed, heavy-lidded eyes, the determined notch in her brow, her parted lips, the gentle flush igniting her cheeks. She's just—stunning, and the ache welters, and a hard tremor takes Aloy's spine from top to bottom.

Talanah heeds the attention with a soft moan and surges in to claim a searing, ragged, open-mouthed kiss, one that makes Aloy gasp and grip harder. The rhythm of Talanah's hips doesn't change, but the angle of their weight does—the solid base presses firm against Aloy's throbbing clit. Mindless, reflexive, her body takes over, reaching for its own relief. She grinds upward into it every time Talanah rolls against her, stoking a mutual urgency, deeper, deeper, their tandem movements a frantic tempo of panting breaths and clumsy lips and sweat-slick skin.

Doesn't take long for the pleasure to become overwhelming. There's the edge and Aloy feels herself racing towards it, all scalding sparks and sunbursts. Working on instinct, she grabs Talanah's ass to guide her pace, unable to help but hasten it.

Leena is the 2nd in command of Yuki's Revolutionary squad and her best friend. She's basically the "brains", managing their finances and keeping them on track. Her devil fruit is that of the mantis shrimp! Her punches makes contact, and that tip of her glove enters whatever is on the unfortunate end, and BOOM. She's a former princess, her nation got wiped out by the world government, and she got captured and sold into slavery. During her auction, she was on stage with a variety of things...including the fruit. In a desperate attempt for victory, she lunged for it and ate as much as she could. Her goal is to find any survivors of her people and reestablish her nation.

🎉A fallen character! Someone who has been put into too much bad things that overtime it morphs into "I don't want to be the better person". Their slow burning anger bubbling under the surface until finally- something pushes them past that line, and they don't want to come back.

Now, to answer the questions (and I'm warning you that I ended up writing quite a lot).

💚What do both of you want from the relationship? Are either of you getting it?

Initially Mukuro befriended Katrin because she’s a wild card that he’s better to keep an eye on, and obviously because she might be useful. Mukuro immediately noticed that she seems interested in him and his goals, and while he obviously was not going to trust her, he decided to take advantage of her investment as much as he can. He still has his goal of destroying the mafia from the inside, and Katrin, with her steadily growing net of connections in the underworld, might be just what he needs. Other than that, he was genuinely curious about what her deal is – the way she acted was too strange for a regular civilian, and for a long time Mukuro was convinced that she must be hiding something.

Katrin views Mukuro as a curious specimen she wants to mentally dissect first and foremost. But she also wants him to fulfil his promise of destroying the world. Or at the very least, she wants to see him try. Other than that, she’s fascinated by his abilities and sees great potential in him that she would have liked to see flourish. (Basically she saw his illusions and went: “That’s cool, but you can do better. Let me show you how”) Then there’s also the deal she made with Reborn and Iemitsu (and later Daemon Spade) that she will help in tying Mukuro to Vongola, so she’s also quietly working for the benefit of her organisation here (Mukuro would hate it if he knew).

Now, about the results… Mukuro is very efficient in fulfilling his role as Vongola’s mist guardian, but he also keeps procrastinating on the world destruction. Katrin is annoyed by it, but, well, as long as her favourite specimen stays by her side... Both Katrin and Mukuro don’t really like to admit it, but somewhere in the process of trying to pick each other’s brains apart they got emotionally attached to each other.

So they are currently watching horror movies and analysing them together because Katrin insists that it’s necessary for illusionists to understand what people are afraid of (although Mukuro insists that he has already seen the worst of it all in hell, to which Katrin replies that his illusions still aren’t impactful enough, and now they are arguing about the purpose of illusions, psychology of fear, and Mukuro’s supposed lack of creativity… Oh well.)

🚩What makes your selfship ‘dark’? Is it the dynamic? The way they met? A specific element of the relationship?

Let’s put it that way: both of them are severely fucked in the head, which means that instead of opening up and building trust like normal people would do, Mukuro and Katrin express their interest in each other in form of manipulations, provocations, and stalking. There is clear lack of respect for boundaries. Because it’s obviously much more fun and effective that way (isn’t it?..)

There was one notable incident when Katrin decided to trap Mukuro in an illusion that replicated his most traumatic memories, and he nearly killed her for daring to do that... It was supposed to be a “friendly” illusion battle for training purposes, but those things tend to quickly get out of control. Honestly, if Chrome didn't intervene, Katrin would have been dead already.

Though the worst of it all happened when they were unhinged teenagers, and they more or less calmed down now as they got older. You know, got used to each other, learned how to not fall for each other’s traps and provocations. Got a bit tired of all these games. Nowadays Katrin and Mukuro are more likely to terrorize other people together instead of each other.

Now, obviously, there’s the fact that the original manga is centred around mafia, so the setting and the lifestyle themselves are pretty dark. Unfortunately, "Reborn!" is more-or-less light-hearted manga and is more akin to a superhero fiction than the story about organised crime. But Mukuro and Katrin are here to put a bit more realism back into it. (These two kind of represent the less attractive parts of the mafia – Mukuro is true danger and cruelty, while Katrin is business and negotiations) They are the token evil teammates among main characters, because someone has to be to get shit done.

So, not only do they constantly do questionable things in regard to each other, they also qualify as a villainous power couple and are an absolute menace when they get to work together. And most of the time they are up to no good.

🎁Do you give each other gifts? What kind?

Aahhh, the dreaded gift question…

It’s honestly hard to imagine them gifting anything to each other, and one of the reasons is the fact that I myself genuinely suck at choosing presents. So Katrin only gives anyone gifts for diplomatic/strategic reasons (aka when she needs something from you). Mukuro just wouldn’t even bother, and he probably doesn’t have much experience either (the guy spent a better half of his life broke). On holidays he tends to give the kind of gifts that are just plain trolling. Like giving Katrin a fly-swapper because her animal weapons are insects. On the other hand, Katrin once gifted him a vacuum cleaner so that he could finally clean those ruins that he calls his house...

Wait, to think of it… Actually, since they are both fashionistas with very similar tastes, I think clothes and accessories would constitute as great presents. However…

Katrin, squinting at the new earrings Mukuro gave her: Are you genuinely gifting this to me, or are you intending to steal it for yourself eventually?

Mukuro: Maybe :)

Those types of presents could very quickly become shared property.

🔖If your ideal fanfiction existed about you and your f/o, what would the AO3 tags look like?

Well, they wouldn’t be themselves without Slow Burn and Psychology/Character Study. Throw in some Blood and Violence, Organized Crime (obviously) and Unresolved Sexual Tension, and put it all in a pot called Dark fic. Might add some elements of Horror if illusions are involved. Though Katrin would definitely bring in some Comedy as well.

Also I have no idea if such exact tag exists, but these two are definitely fighting for dominance here.

I think the perfect fanfic about them would be less about some romantic action and more about mind games and the analysis of the psychology of their relationship.
