what's the government's response to the awful waiting times to access medical transition? make it harder for people to get referred in the first place. if we can gatekeep a bunch of trans people from ever getting referred in the first place, the waiting lists will be shorter! genius! /s

Do you write multi-chapter fics in order or do you jump around? And if you do go in order, do you go back to revise earlier chapters as you go or are they pretty much ready to post once you move on to the next chapter?
I love this question, anon, thank you! ❤️
I write multi-chaps in order — which I don’t necessarily recommend because a scene I may be three chapters away from writing will sing and dance in my mind and we’re not there yet. So I will add key elements of that scene to my outline, which actually can be good in the long run because by the time I finally write the scene, the words can flow fairly easily because the scene has been in my mind for so long (with outline memory aids for specifics).
I know some people write out of order, and I’m glad that method works for them. For me, I need the linear nature in which the story will (presumably) be read to inform the writing. As always, though, the best way to write is the way that works for the writer.
In terms of revision, I revise constantly. Little stuff, big stuff. I need the whole story written and edited before posting even the first chapter (with one exception because I knew exactly where I was going and felt like I was going to explode if I didn’t start posting). For me, the revision process can help sharpen things like foreshadowing and key themes. I find revision deeply rewarding. It’s like — I built a home and now I get to buff the floors and straighten the address numbers and make sure the cookies in the oven are done just in time to invite in anyone who wants to share the home I built for whomever might want to be there.

Koine Concept Pages (( before final design ))
==================
In basic starting of Koine's concept, he was going to live with Senior Hueso alongside Hueso Jr. and the adopted Usagi. He was going to be found inside an alley the night of his mutation and taken in by Hueso. After the events of the movie is when Koine was going to be introduced to the turtles FULLY. During this concept Koine was also named Pumpkin and he was younger than the turtles. He had a few sightings and interactions with the turtles

==================
In the second concept of Koine, he was going to be raised by Draxum and his AFAB was put into place. This time Koine went from Pumpkin to Koi until the name Koine was found. Koine's stripes were actually final design and Koine had the first red sheet. He was going to be trained and lived by Draxum (( who was going to be sweet to Koi )) and didn't meet the turtles until months after the movie with no other interactions beforehand. Koine also went to a school that Casey Jr. went to after the movie, which is how he figured out about the turtles. Koine is older than before, around seventeen like Raph, and was the twin of Raph.

==================
In the final concept of Koine, he is sixteen and came from a different dimension. In his dimension he is the biological nephew (( or half-sibling to be technical )) of the turtles. He was still raised by Draxum but he was raised inside the bad future. Draxum kept Koine a secret for about six weeks just to make sure everything was okay. When Draxum died, Koine was about five so Leo and Donnie decided to pair up to raise Koine a bit longer. After some time passes Koine ends up in a different universe due to a portal mess up.

"Love Bug. Another spider, I believe, though she breaks from their usual naming convention. Understandable, Love Spider is not as good of a name. She has had no interaction with my family, and therefore I have no particular qualms with her specifically. But she is still a spider, and would likely consider me a threat. Her attack style does not seem to be very active or antagonistic, pacifistic even, so I do not believe it would be a particularly difficult fight if the situation arose."

Bad day at work yesterday still influencing today.
It was fine at first, most of the night even, but by the last ... idk, less than two hours, i was unable to keep up. It would've been a mess for the day shift person -- also just one person in that section, which really ought to have two -- so i ended up staying after fifteen minutes to help catch up.
None of that was the problem, though. Being deluged wasn't fun, but it made the time go faster, and i really didn't mind sticking around, especially after the day shift person thanked me (removing my concern that she was mad at/annoyed with me). But of course, sticking around the extra time meant a coordinator talked to me about it.
He seemed upset that i didn't ask for help, and said something about how "we're all one team here". Like, sure dude, those are some nice words i've heard from literally every place i've worked for and then some, but they're just words until someone backs them up with proof. And that's hard to do when the last time i asked you for help, you basically told me just do it, everything's fine. I was almost in tears with frustration, but no, it was fine, i just needed to put in more effort or something.
He said something like "I always help you, don't I?" and i did not answer that, because of the above-mentioned incident, and because usually when i get help, it comes with a bunch of unsolicited advice that carries the implication that if i was doing it right, i wouldn't need help, so this is really my fault and i should be grateful for your willingness to step in.
It didn't help that today i had church. I like going to church (mostly), but with my current schedule, it means staying up later than my body wants, and then sleeping so late there's basically no time to do anything i want before going back to work. Maybe if/when i change my schedule, that'll change, but for now ...

…I could put on airs like that, but with you it’s no good. You’re a typical, generic savior-type protagonist. Loved by the readers, loved by the characters, loved even by the plot. Boring. Short cuts aren’t my style. I can’t talk about you, and you don’t have enough value.
this evaluation of hakuno's character (thanks hans christian andersen) and titles and roles............ really reminds me of the other side of the coin for hakuno's dilemma with being a nameless nobody– losing sight of yourself from taking on too many roles and names 🫠 it's pretty interesting though cuz i can see shades of it with hakuno too ! albeit in a very different way..
real quick tho YES I KNOW A LOT OF THIS IS JUST BECAUSE OF SELF INSERT PROTAG REASONS (DEROGATORY) 🥹 but hakuno deserves better than that!!! so i prefer 2 look at it in a different way 4 my hakuno 🫶
"hakuno" doesn't know herself, hakuno is useless, but she can do her best to fulfill whatever's expected from a role like the "leader" or "hero" that a situation might call for. hakuno can't find value in herself, so she tries to get it from others and fulfilling what they want and what they need. she's good at following guidelines for what's expected from others but lacks that for herself as an individual, if that makes sense.
it's a very integral part of hakuno's character! even when she doesn't understand how she feels, she's always thinking of others and acting with them in mind. but i gotta make it clear that she's no actor!! she's just stepping up to the job in her own way. i like 2 think of it as something like water filling the shape of the glass it's put into.
doing that and taking up whatever role she has to comes from necessity rather than hakuno wanting to be something bigger than herself. hakuno sees a problem that only she can fix, and is willing to do a lot in order to fix it. (<- what we see in canon too from fate/extra when she acts in the way of a "martyr" and in ccc when she takes on the role of being "president") whether she likes it or not isn't something she thinks about, but on a deep down, it's really just something she takes on to make up for her self-perceived flaws.
trying to fit into these roles could be an attempt to find herself too in a way..... hakuno's always been concerned about the meaning and purpose of her life, so she could try to find her own self worth in this way. she'll always think of it as titles that don't suit her though :,) cough impostor syndrome cough. i can imagine her trying become someone "worthy" of it, but she'll still feel undeserving in the end for one reason or another. it never feels enough, it never feels right, there's always going to be a sense of disconnect for her.
I can’t speak of something that isn’t there. Hakuno Kishinami. You still have nothing at all.
it's because she still doesn't know who she is </3 the lack of a personal identity that is so essential to being a person is something that just can't be fixed in this way. taking up roles and living up to others' expectations could maybe provide a temporary happiness or gratification for hakuno (via gaining affection and praise through being useful because that's something she's never had), but at the end of the day hakuno won't be satisfied with that. it's a shallow reasoning and even if she obtained the love she may have desired, it'd feel misplaced because it's a love that she got for being something that she feels like she isn't.
remember– all hakuno ever wanted was to live. she's a really simple gal! i'd say that at the moment, she's just grateful to have her basic survival needs met and still wants to find herself and become her own person, but she doesn't have any grand goals or ambitions. though she might not realize it herself, what she really wants is just a normal life tbh :,) live a normal life, die a normal death and afterwards, she'd want to be remembered as "hakuno kishinami" rather than a "hero" or "savior" or "protagonist" or any other grandiose title or role
