I have had awful sinus congestion all week but literally not any other symptoms of illness. what is this

wakin up from a weird nap feeling too warm, too hungry, too bleary, and also my computer has so many updates it wants to do. why this. perhaps i will go back asleep.

I hate when sinusitis make me lose my balance. I'm not sure if I have developed labyrinthitis, but very so often my balance gets compromised. Actually, all my functionality gets compromised in those crisis, although this chronic problem isn't really as bad as my asthma (thankfully at least this one is controlled)

Sinusitis makes my head heavier like I'm carrying a bunch of books and trying to keep them on my head as I walk. My face also feels heavier, more precisely my cheeks and under eyes area, and they hurt intensely like a sting; My ears feel stuffed, despite not being, and under pressure, just like I had taken a deep dive in a pool, and also, I can "hear" my ears click and make random weird noises. My sight feels tiring, my nose is almost always stuffed and my voice has some funny weird cracks LOL

But also there's this chronic body aching, especially towards my neck (it feels more rigid when Im passing through a sinusitis crisis) and when I feel this " light headache but with a strong pressure" on my head and face, it almost feels like I can't think properly and do anything productive too, that's why I joke that my brain is not braining too well to speak English and Portuguese at once 😂. I just live with those and some other allergies for so long in my life that I'm frequently jumping towards new antihistamines and painkillers once the old ones stop working (1g of dipyrone and 600mg have the effect of drinking pure water in me 🥲 usually I have to either combine them two or take corticosteroids, in the last case). It's a bummer, comically sad I'd say 🥲

mr wriggle by cosmo sheldrake (mr jukes edit). now if you held a gun to my head and asked me to describe this song, this is somewhere between droll and whimsical. like instead of early aughts whimsigoth it’s whimsi-cottagecore? a rare instance of liking the remix better than the original- mr jukes had a very light hand here by getting rid of a vocal i find irritating. it sounds brighter? hope that helps. “put some pickles on/play the mellotron” YES mr sheldrake you’ve rhymed a silly pairing of words you’ve done it again!!! this sounds perhaps condescending but i do think he is a rare example of a lyricist who really loves playing with words and mouthfeel. how did i find this: poking through back catalogues while in the video game data mines, i think @maverick-ornithography originally turned me onto mr sheldrake

also, castle in the clouds by cut worms, off an "acid western” playlist from tiktok that is full of goddamn bangers. ideal uptempo but non-distracting work music. upsetting how quickly tiktok has dialed into my interests.

anyway this song was released in 2020 and borrows from the late sixties country sound with a fascinating inexplicable reference to the song house of blue lights (here is my favorite cover by ella mae morse)??? one of the youtube commenters described the vocalist as george harrison-esque and that’s not Wrong, but it’s a little more mellow. the music video has charmed me beyond belief with a collage of late fifties/early sixties footage of america telling stories about itself (I KNOW. I KNOW. OKAY. I AM A WEAK AND PREDICTABLE WOMAN).

i really really love the way the phrase “castle in the clouds” comes in on the chorus, almost as an aside? this is a song made for any number of blorbos
