How did Aegon II reacted to Jaehaerys’ death ? I didn’t read F&B but in HOTD, he doesn’t seem to care about his children that much, to the point of wanting to run away to Essos in episode 9 and abandoning them, without hesitation.

For the future, let me know how much of a spoiler you want when you ask me abt the canon, bc lots can be revealed to answer one specific question or to make it make sense enough to be answer.

But it's still also hard to decipher if this anger is that different from his being angry at Rhaenyra not giving into the terms he sent only AFTER Helaena & Alicent managed to clam him down enough when he yelled to his subs to kill Rhaenyra. AND Rhaenyra and Daemon both explicitly restrained themselves from following Rhaenys' plan for the sake of their kids AND Daemon's choice to use Blood and Cheese for Luke's death. Both are in actual dialouge, while there is no such thing for Aegon in response to Jaehaerys' death.

I mean that, from the jump and his coronation, he had been "angry" and "vengeful", & there were no quotes to prove that his going to Rook's Rest wasn't more his trying to prove how powerful than it was sincerely more a father's grief. He might have felt more guilty & righteous at the same time after Jaehaerys' death, of course, and carried that into his first battle, but it's also possible that the grief was sublimated under his desire to eliminate those he just saw as his enemies. He, more than Daemon or Rhaenyra, was the party who sublimated his kids under his right to rule as a king, since having heirs gives more meaning to one's claim.

Thoughts on Helaena Targaryen

It's truly amazing in spite of her scarce on-screen presence, the character of Helaena Targaryen is so loved by the fans. I think Phia Saban's acting -her facial expression, body language and beautiful voice won the audience's hearts. I hope she's gonna shine in the upcoming season(s). However, it bothers me that they're pretty likely to reduce her to a doomed prophetess , living her tragic life and fearing the horrible future ahead her and her family. In my opinion, it would be really interesting to see more of Helaena as a dragon rider, a mother , a sister... Long story short, a human being and not a flawless tragic figure. I'd love to see her being happy, pretty, affectionate, angry, full of hope, playful, worried... For instance, an emotional scene in which Helaena says goodbye to her brothers, leaving for war would definitely slay, but I wouldn't have anything against furious Helaena telling Aemond she wishes he was dead and not Jaehearys. Quite not the thing you'd say to your brother who's about to go to war, especially the brother who once jumped between you and a scary ass dragon, but why should Helaena be just a sweet girl, who'd forgive her loved ones literally everything just because they're her relatives? I would totally understand her urge to hurt and insult Aemond after his recklessness lead to her young son's premature death!

There is no doubt the character of Helaena Targaryen deserves better. In my humble opinion, "better" means , above all, being portrayed as an actual person, and not just goodness and innocence incarnate. Helaena still can be a seer and a tragic figure even if she has some moments of true happiness in her short life.

People saying Jaehaera, an innocent girl who by all accounts was kind deserved death as much as Joffrey "literal spawn of the devil" Baratheon is the most disgusting thing I've heard in this fandom all month.

If you're wondering what the most disgusting thing I've heard ever is, it's black stans saying they hope "Daemon played basketball with Jaehaerys's head".

This is why I can't stand the black fandom. They have something against literal toddlers. I don't see half as many green stans wishing Daemon and Rhaenyra's children died horrible deaths.
